This place was up the street from our Airbnb so we made reservations. It's cute inside with all wood updated interior and spacious high vaulted ceiling. The bar area isn't big but it was bustling maybe because of the World Cup games. The food was good, waitress was a little harried with a few big tables to cater to and we being a two top weren't much of a priority, but we tried to be understanding. Also they pan sear many of the dishes, so they have to open the front door to air it and was freezing sitting right there! ( please note not to sit by front door) We ordered the burrata app to share and I had branzino which was seasoned well. It Had a nice flavor, but it wasn't that meaty, if that makes sense... kind of picking off the bones there...Husband had the grilled swordfish and it was delish! The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff, and a menu featuring well-prepared dishes made with quality ingredients. The presentation was excellent, and the flavors were memorable. The service was friendly and professional, although it was somewhat slower than expected given that it was the off-season and the restaurant was not particularly busy. While not a major issue, it was noticeable throughout the meal. One surprise was that bread was not included with the meal and had to be ordered separately as a side dish. While this may be the restaurant's policy, it felt a bit unusual for a restaurant of this caliber. That said, the quality of the food more than made up for these minor shortcomings. The kitchen clearly takes pride in its work, and the overall dining experience was a positive one. So we went here for Lobster summer roll after a long day of hiking...thinking it would be a lobster roll. Good thing we asked the waitress about it- I think we would have been surprised by what it actually is (more of a sushi type thing). We ended up skipping the lobster summer roll and instead got the grilled artichokes, chicken piccata, and the paella. All of the food (and drinks) were SO good. Absolutely amazing food we were blown away! The chicken piccata was perfectly cooked (I'm picky about my chicken) and the sauce was absolutely perfect for the meal. My boyfriend's paella was also amazing- he said it was the best he's had over here! The food and overall experience were great- we loved the vibe of the place and was the perfect dinner for the end of our vacation. Did not meet expectations especially for the price. Party of 6, but I will only be reviewing what my partner and I ate and the service of our table. The service is one of the biggest complaints and reasons for the low rating. If I could rate the service alone it would be two stars. 4 of us order alcoholic drinks (2 beers and 2 cocktails) and one tea with creamer. We then ordered appetizers maybe 10 minutes afterwards. The first beer arrived but not the other nor the two cocktails. Eventually the tea came out with sugar but no creamer and the waitress was very hard to flag down to get this brought out. The bigger offense in my eyes is that the appetizers were served 15 minutes afterwards the first beer was brought out while the rest of us sat and waited another 10 minutes longer for our cocktails and the other beer to come. I just didn't understand the really slow bar service especially for a beer on tap when one of them was able to be poured. Appetizers that were ordered 10 minutes afterwards drink orders and being delivered first is not what would be expected from this level of restaurant. Both my our cocktails felt very watered down and not much taste. We both decided to not order any more especially after waiting so long. Cocktails 4/10. I ordered the octopus for an appetizer and was very underwhelmed. It was way too charred to be able to taste anything but burnt char. Appetizer was definitely a 5/10 :( For dinner I ordered the swordfish and my wife the scallops and pork belly. Both of these were really good. My swordfish was prepared excellently and was delicious. Brussels sprouts were great as well. If I'm being nit-picky the potatoes could have been better but overall I'd give our entrees 9/10. The other downside was that I paired a glass of wine with my entree but didn't receive it until I was over halfway done with my meal. I was at the point of looking for my waitress to tell her to not bring it out when she finally did. I wanted the wine with my meal and not by itself as it should have been brought with my entree. One of the biggest red flags in regard to our service was that every entree was brought out but one persons. It's one thing if she went immediately back to grab but instead friend waited another 10 minutes as I saw our waitress run other plates out to other tables. Her order was the ahi tuna burger... not something that would require extra time to prepare compared to our other entrees. Unmissable in every single sense of the word. Our experience here was nothing short of hospitable, delicious, accommodating and legendary. Arriving a little late, Chef was gracious enough to allow us to order a pinch behind normal kitchen closing, and everyone serving us was a ridiculously sweet, funny, helpful delight. Our food- 100/10. Tender lobster in the truffle risotto, smashing burger, perfect mussels, to die for appetizers and quick service. I loved my pineapple spicy margarita as well! While visiting Acadia National Park for our 34th Anniversary, we were looking for a special restaurant and we decided to give the Treehouse a try. Wow! We are so glad that we did. The ambiance when you walk is so fun! The service was fantastic and the food is out of this world delicious! We had muscles for our appetizer, and their special baked potato and scallop chowder! Oh my! The best chowder I have ever had. My husband has the scallops for dinner and they were also very tasty. I had the mediterranean halibut, which was also very well done. We were driving back from Schoodic Peninsula and spotted the Treehouse Seaside Grill. When we travel, we like to try new places. Well, this place was a huge hit for us! The hostess was honest that they had reservations coming and a bunch of seated walk in's. So we could wait, or sit at the bar and enjoy the full menu and meet the owner of this establishment. We started with drinks. I had a Blood Orange Old Fashion and my husband had Lunch by Maine Beer company. Then we ordered our appetizers. I savored the local mussels and even shared them with my husband because the proportion was so big. My husband had the lobster stew. We have traveled to Maine for 22 years and this lobster stew was the best we have ever had. It was rich, creamy, with chunks of lobster and it was a treat for our picky tastebuds. I ordered another cocktail with Luxardo cherries. It was called a Dirty Shirley. An alcoholic take on a Shirley Temple. Unusual and good. We continued to sit at the bar and chat with Drew. He's a local gentleman who has come back to the area he grew up in and you could tell he worked very hard to take care of his employees and his guests. For dinner, I ordered the Lobster Spring Roll and my husband ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Tataki. Both were delicious. We switched entrees because we liked the flavors in both! Treehouse ingredients are locally sourced and they have a global flavor. It's wonderful to travel and find a culinary gem like this place. We finished our stay with Maine Blueberry pie and Crème Brûlée Cheescake. I drank a macchiato and my husband had Auchentoshan, a single malt scotch which he hadn't had before last night. I know this review is lengthy but when we find a hidden culinary gem, we hope others discover it too. read more

Most places were closing soon while we were driving. This place agreed to cook us food to go while we were still in the car. They didn't even ask for a credit card. When we arrived, the food was ready and absolutely delicious. Lobster stew and local muscles were amazing . What's more ... I asked if we could go eat in the bar area, as the restaurant was already closed. Some guy sitting at the bar said , of course. Then he went out and got us silverware etc . Turns out it was an owner. Absolute five stars for that place. Two days later we drove by but unfortunately didn't have time to stop and eat again, but we realized it is also located in a beautiful spot right on the coast. Its pretty good - the ahi tuna burger is a bit bland and the beet salad is lacking in beets .. but everyone for the most part liked what they got. Expensive .. but a nice atmosphere. Soups to die for, a bowl of Vichysoisse was made for a fall day in such a beautiful location. We shared the lobster spring roll, such a light and tasty app. And then Dinner OMG I had the Truffle Ravioli, every bite had me my tastebuds vibing! My wife had the Mediterranean Halibut, she said it was some of the best fish she's ever had! The menu has something for everybody! The food is outstanding, but the service was slow. The Lump Crabcake and House Ground Prime Burger were very good. The waitress promised us bread while we waited for our entrees.....but the bread never came. So who knows what it was like with the butter. We were the only table around us who never got bread. Another table nearby was there for ~40min hanging out with drinks and eventually got bread when their appetizers came. The cocktail didn't seem to special or unique so went with local beer in a can. The beers on tap are your standard styles whether they are national mainstream or local drafts. So we went with Peak "Sweet Tarts" Blueberry Sour Ale and Wild Maine Blueberry Seltzer. Took way too long to get a 2nd can of Blueberry Sour from the bar. We got a slice of Blueberry Pie to go and can't wait to enjoy that! It was way too warm in the restaurant. It was very busy on a Thursday night with heavy rain blowing through. There wasn't much air circulation and people started cracking open the windows for air flow once the storm passed and the sun started to come back out just before sunset. read more

I was far from a fan of the previous restaurant at this location so it was with some trepidation that I tried Treehouse Seaside Grill. We were a party of 6 and all I can say is, what an incredible and wonderful surprise! Every dish was truly superb. The lobster spring roll, local mussels and seared ahi tuna tataki were standouts. The halibut and salmon were as good as any fine restaurant in New York City. Braised short rib bolognese was hearty, full of flavor and very satisfying. There was not a bad dish between us. I even loved the way my martini was served; icy, lemony and in a beautiful glass. I was too full for dessert but was told they were great. Our waitress was as pleasant and as accommodating as could be. The is a very happy development for Winter Harbor and I can confidently say it is worth the trip from Ellsworth or wherever else you might be Downeast. We stopped in for a late afternoon cup of chowder after an afternoon hike on a cool fall afternoon. We were th first patrons of the evening, arriving a bit after 4 pm. We were seated quickly and had a nice view of the water. A bit surprised that clam chowder was not offered on the menu as it is pretty much a staple in Maine and I like to try different versions. Oh well, the soup of the day was broccoli cheddar I believe, but they also offered a rather pricey "lobster stew" for $18. We both opted for that thinking it would be a generous portion. My partner opted for a Diet Coke and I got a glass of wine. The wine was fine but the coke was flat. 2 bowles came to the table each containing about. 1 1/2 cups of milk based broth with 3-4 dime to quarter size pieces of lobster. It had a wonderful flavor but was quite watery. It had a thickness of 1 out of 5 and I feel something called stew or chowder should be a 2 or 3 out of 5 on the thickness scale. The waitress left the two bowls of soup and said "enjoy". I looked over and asked if the server brought any bread with the lobster stew (soup). She had not. My partner got up and went to the server and asked for bread. "We only have bread that comes with the mussels she stated". My partner came back telling me that and decided she should have said that would be fine. She motioned for the server to come over at which point we could tell she was getting irritated and she said I could give you croutons. We said the bread would be fine. 10 minutes later 4 small pieces of bread showed up, no butter. My partner had finished her soup by now, I had a few spoonfuls left. The server plopped the bread on the table and said " well, here's your bread" and left. Keep in mind we were still the only patrons in the restaurant! The bill came and they had the nerve to charge us $4 for bread service. So 2 medium sized bowls of watery lobster stew, a 6 ounce flat coke, a glass of wine and 4 little pieces of bread cost $60 brought to us by a rude server. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, but for the money, more should be expected....at least bread and butter with stew and served with a smile. read more

Excellent service and impeccable food! Everything was fantastic from start to finish. We had a party of eight sat at the big wood table. We had a variety of dishes from seared scallops, halibut, NY sirloin, ravioli, bolognese and crab cakes. Each meal was delicious! We loved this place! Our waitress, staff and chef were wonderful! I'll start off with saying, I know this place is new, I understand the service industry is suffering, I myself am a supervisor at a popular seafood restaurant in a high tourist area. That being said, I am disappointed I wasn't even able to try the food. I made reservations for 6 pm for a table for 2, with an ocean view, was told that would be possible (I made this reservation a day in advance). Waiting room was packed on arrival, and 4 people were sat before us (and didn't have a reservation). I was told a table would be ready in 20 minutes, and the table I reserved with a view wouldn't be available. After the 20 minutes, we were told it would be still be a few more minutes. Two people walked in at 6:30 and I'm almost certain the manager or head chef told the hostess to move around tables so these people could be sat right away. Honestly this experience reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry reserved a car and they ran out of cars "The reservation keep the car here. You know how to take the reservation but don't know how to hold it, which is the most important part of the reservation." read more
