Sooo Bar HWRD how have I not left a review here yet when I come so often, no idea, but here we are. I come here during the day on the weekends to grab some good freak'n wings and drinks, and to listen to music. Watching football here is always a good time! I enjoy chatting with the staff and people watching. If you go at night, expect a different atmosphere and a more college crowd (nothing wrong with that!), just a heads up. People live right here and have to keep their windows open so that we don't overheat but now on top of that we also have to listen to you and your annoying music and drama! So here's the deal. They have all these "snow" blowers but it's really just soap and it constantly gets in your food and drinks. I asked the bar tender if there's a way to stop it and she said ask the bouncer. I asked the bouncer and he said and I quote "I hate those damn things". But he didn't do anything about it. Then a waiter came over and I told him about it and he said "oh I can get the manager he will be over in 2 min". Then 20 min later when the waiter came back I asked when the manager would be over and he said "why would he come over here" and I said because of the foam. It was a whole thing but all in all if you go there during winter be ready for soap in you drinks and food constantly. There's no way to get away from the soap and it disgusting. I'm also really upset I was told the manager was coming over but then when he never showed up I asked when he would be there and I was made to look like an idiot. I'm still waiting for the manager till this day but I doubt he will ever get to me. read more

I went here for a Gasparilla event here. I paid $116 for a ticket including fees. This ticket was for express reentry from 11am to 3am. They stopped allowing us to use our express reentry at 11pm. I paid for the ticket for a reason. There were also people entering and reentering for free after not paying cover or for a ticket. The drinking were 50% ice and 49% mixer. The outside bar was chaotic and there was essentially no seating unless you bought a table they definitely weren't in ADA compliance as well. read more

Bar Hwrd Sports Bar took over the former Drynk Soho Dance Club off South Howard and Platt next to Taco Dirty, Cask Social Kitchen, Cheap, World of Beer, Hyde Park Cafe, Macdintons, Yard of Ale, and Soho Saloon on the SoHo Strip! Bar Hwrd got rid of the bathrooms in the front part of the bar to make the place a lot wider and open than the previous establishment Drynk was. Bar Hwrd also added high top booth seating along the right wall where the Drynk Dance Club VIP area was and tons of high top tables where the Drynk Dance Floor was and tons of tv's everywhere for watching football. There are 2 large projection screens for watching football and overall it's a lively and rowdy atmosphere. Unfortunately the audio is a bit muffled so you really can't hear all the play commentary which is key for watching sports. Bar Hwrd put in a grassy area in the front of the bar facing Platt for people to play giant Jenga and corn hole which adds some green earthy color to the place and adds an outdoor emphasis vibe similar to Parks and Rec in Downtown St Pete. Bar Hwrd has shaded outdoor patio seating with TV's outside just like at the previous establishment, Drynk, and the place is dog friendly, allowing dogs. We watched the Gators and Seminoles games here amongst a packed crowd on opening weekend on a Saturday. We were disappointed that the rum and coke came out with flat soda and that they didn't have any craft beer or Yeungling. The beer selection was very limited but they said they'll get a bigger selection in next week. All the tables had reserved signs and no one was sitting at the tables. After 5 minutes of searching for someone to get permission to sit down, we talked to a bouncer who managed to flag down a server. We got a round of drinks and chips and salsa and then our server disappeared. The salsa came out crazy hot and was inedible but the server said that's just the way it is and they can't serve the salsa cold which is ridiculous because every other place on the planet serves the salsa cold. Because they served hot salsa and couldn't event get something as simple as chips and salsa right, we opted not to waste our time in trying out any of the other food on the menu although the tacos did look pretty reasonably priced. The SoHo Fuego make-shift food truck attached to the building offers a menu that the waitresses serve to the tables. SoHo Fuego serves Salsa and Chips, Guacamole Traditional, pickled mushroom tostadas, cebollitas asadas y Chiles Toreados, salad, tacos, quesadillas, and burritos with carne asada steak, al pastor pork, grilled chicken, campechana, Alhambra grilled skirt steak, grilled mushrooms, and grilled shrimp. After a half hour with no sign of our server, we had another server flag down our server and we got another round of drinks. After another half hour of not seeing our server after the football game was over, We had to ask another server to find our server so we could close out our tab. A couple of my friends just walked up to the bar to get quicker service because our table service was just not cutting it. A bartender told us that during the week they will have a happy hour that includes half off well liquor mixed drinks and $1 off all domestic brewskies. Beers went for $6-$7 and while claws went for $7 which is a bit above average. I was surprised to see no football game day specials. Yard of ale offers $2 and $3 drafts for football games right down the street and we will probably be going there next weekend for the next game. I'm not sure if this place turns into a club at night like the Soho Tavern or Macdintons with dancing but during our visit it was just a sports bar. I look forward to when Bar Hwrd management will get a larger craft beer selection, fixes the flat soda machine, gets some better drink specials, trains servers to be more attentive, and perfects their food menu. read more

Went last night and was extremely disappointed. Ordered the same 3 drinks in two separate orders . $22 the first round and $25 the second round? For the exact same drinks? They must make up the prices as they go. Not to mention they barely had any alcohol in them and were extremely small. We ended up going next door and paying $22 for the exact same drinks and they had much bigger cups and you could actually taste the alcohol. By the way, I wouldn't walk on the turf if you are in open-toed shoes. I came to Bar Hwrd with friends on a Friday night and it was a little crowded. SoHo's newest addition looked like a good time and drew a crowd. There was a line with a (singular) bouncer checking ID's which isn't new and/or surprising for this area but the line moves slowly and was stopped when a large group walked up to another line and was let in over everyone else. When you walk in there is a large bar with some seating and cocktail tables. If you go further into the bar area there is an opening with a dance floor (not many people were dancing), booths, and another bar. On the way there you may miss the bathrooms where another bouncer is positioned. My friends needed to go and the line was a little longer but what I appreciated with the sweet bathroom attended. It'll shock you at first but it's a nice older lady who turns in the faucets, hands you soap, and a towel. She also has to monitor that only one person goes into a stall at a time which is hilarious considering the amount of people who kept trying to take their friends into the stall with them that she had to stop. But the bathroom attendant is so nice and I really liked her! For drinks I tried to approach the bar but it was crowded. People literally stationed themselves and made it hard to order a drink. There was even a bouncer at the opening to the bar to help barbacks come through with empty glasses. What I thought was cool was that there were mobile bartenders (or more servers) who you could order with and stay in your spot and she would bring you your drinks. It was super easy to pay and wait versus fighting to make eye contact with a bartender at the bar. I got two white claws for $10.35 and I was pleasantly surprised by their pricing. I got our drinks and we went to the lawn where there are lawn games, a bar, and social space. This was less crowded and I enjoyed this area. Overall the music selection was decent, the prices were great, and the bathroom attendant was awesome and needs a raise. There is a food truck out front and I've heard this place can get crowded. If you're looking into checking it out just also be aware that SoHo draws a younger crowd with comes with its challenges. read more

Got kicked out because one of the female bartenders who worked there had seemed to be having a manic episode and tried to fight me. Calling me every word in the book while unprovoked. Extremely unprofessional. The security gaurd proceeded to kick me out and would not explain why after I told him I had done absolutely nothing. On top of this I ordered one drink and my card was charged twice. The bartender thought I said to keep the tab open when I specified I wanted it closed. This could've been why. My boyfriend and I went there to watch Football a few Saturday's ago and we love the environment. We played cornhole for a while outside and went in to grab and table and watch some football. I love how many TV's there are. We had a great server taking our drink order and being very sweet and efficient. It was better than getting up often and waiting for drinks at the bar. I drove down from Orlando this past weekend and my friend was very excited to take us to this bar. We were very quickly disappointed with the unprofessional behavior of the staff. The bartender got our order wrong numerous times and when he finally served my drink, i noticed the glass had lipstick marks on it. The bartender then transferred my drink from one dirty glass into another (in the midst of COVID).While the bartender got a manager to void out the orders he rang up incorrectly, he openly complained to him about how we were unhappy with our "unpolished" glasses. The manager never spoke to us about the situation and the bartender refused to serve us drinks. We will never go back here. There are plenty of other places in the area with better vibes and friendlier staff. Don't spend your money here.
