The Powder Room is great fun. We love the location and the place is super clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and attentive. They also have great food. The bar is so pretty and the entire ambiance of the place is relaxing and puts you in a great mood. The drinks are great and they have nice virgin drinks as well. What we really love about this place is the food. We often like to go somewhere and be able to order a variety of starter type items, share it all and call that dinner. That is what we did here. Our server was the best. We had Portobello Mushroom Risotto Croquettes With Garlic Aioli and Roasted Red Pepper Coulis that were just devine. the House Made Purple & Gold Potato Chips With Creamy French Onion Aioli were ever so tasty and go with anything. We then moved on to the Thai deviled eggs which were some of the best we have had in LA. Their garlic fries are crisp and ever so tasty. We mixed that with the sweet potato fries and were in potato heaven. Finally a must is the Malaysian Steak Skewers. They were just as good as any fine dinning eatery. 11/02/2018 I swear there was a place called Beauty Bar somewhere around here. It was fun being part of a big group that gathered here. Huge scavenger hunt getting strangers to do stranger things on Hollywood Blvd. then come back and drink some more. The bartenders here are awesome. They dance on top of the bar and back counter area on their favorite songs. I thought it was music videos but it's just random TV shows. When you order shots, it's measured with a heavy hand. That's how you will see lots of glass and bottles breaking on the table and floors. The doorman was awesome too. He took care of the dangerous stuff. The dangerous stuff was the broken glass more than just the front door action. I think we all had a great time shutting it all down after last call. read more

I was here on NYE and I'm so happy I came! Location: The Powder Room is located on Cahuenga Blvd in between Hollywood Blvd and Selma. It really is an amazing location for a restaurant/lounge/bar because there are so many other venues literally walking distance that you can bar hop without ever having to call for a cab/Uber. Parking: I'm really lucky when it comes to street parking. I always manage to find parking on the street 30 seconds away from the venue. If that's not your case don't worry about it! There is plenty of street parking that line Selma, Hollywood Blvd and other adjacent streets. Warning though...there is no parking allowed on Cahuenga from 8pm- 3am which SUCKS. There is also plenty of lot parking spots littered all over the place. Prices usually are $10 flat rate. The Powder Room: What I love about the Powder Room is the decor. It's a very small bar/lounge that isn't made to handle hordes of people but that's part of it's appeal for me. The lighting is very Miami Vice ish...with the blue and pink neon lighting on the backsplash of the bar. I love the eclectic mix of mirrors that adorn the opposite side of the wall...so chaotic and yet they all go together. For most of the night granted I stuck with champagne so I'm unable to tell you all about the Powder Room's famed spiked milkshakes but I can tell you about their delicious food! I ended up having the slides 2x of the Seared Ahi which was amazing and 1 of the Veggie Slider. I devoured it so quickly that I completely forgot I should of taken a picture until I was finished eating. I along with my friend shared a large basket of Sweet Potato Fries and I have never in my life eaten fries the way I did that night. It was just the right amount of sweet with the chipotle mayo dipping sauce and ketchup!? Say NO MORE. Our bartender was Jay and she was hands down one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered here in LA. If you do come you should definitely hope she will wait on you because she is amazing. Just stopped by for a quick drink before dinner and the 7-10 pm HH was a most pleasant surprise. While the gin-based cocktail was refreshing, there wasn't much of the spirit that I could discern - def worth the HH price, but would've underwhelmed if I had to pay the $13. Curiously, the bartender looked perplexed when i asked for the drink served up, so I'm gonna guess that wasn't Luke. This is such a cool bar - it's beautiful inside! There's plenty of seating, but if it gets packed you're out of luck :) The bartender was really knowledgeable and made our drinks very well. The one thing I would encourage is to maybe add a little more light to the menu on the wall - it's a little difficult to read! This bar is the real deal. They aren't fooling around with their signature cocktails which are meticulously made with the best ingredients by their experienced bartender. It's nice to come to a bar in Hollywood that serves some seriously good drinks. I started with their Winchester, a Buffalo Trace Whiskey, Amaro Nonino liquor and spiced chocolate bitters. It was a strong but complex and well balanced drink And I had their One Night cocktail with rye whiskey, thai chili honey, cherry syrup, egg whites and lime juice. Good for dropping by if trolling through Hollywood bars, but not a real destination worthy place. With few customers on a Friday night at 11P, finding space was easy even though the bar is small with not much seating. Couple of games on the tables and old movie clips projected on the wall for amusement. The cocktails were not as creative as I had hoped. The Isle of Skye didn't sound like a tiki drink but was due to the coconut syrup and the ample amount of crushed ice. This is a cute little bar we stopped in on our way home from LA. We came in on Sunday around 4 and there was a happy hour going on. It's an open air bar in the daytime, which was lovely because it was wonderful outside. All of the cocktails I tried were perfectly balanced and fresh. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The ceviche was eh, mostly because it was all white fish and I don't really like white fish. My favorite ceviches are made with shrimp and octopus, typically. A Great Saint Felix Alternative The Powder Room is a bit of an odd duck to me (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). The place is structured and set up as its own separate bar/lounge, complete with its own decor, vibe, and lighting, although it's still technically part of the Saint Felix Hollywood. It's in the same building as the Saint Felix, has the same staff, and I believe they have the same menus as well. If you're in the Saint Felix, you can find the back entrance to the Powder Room to the left of the restrooms, and it's literally like walking into a special, not-so-secret back room. I honestly don't even consider the Powder Room as its own bar, and really see it as an extension of the Saint Felix, which it is. Once again, this isn't a bad thing whatsoever. I love the Saint Felix for their food/drinks/service, and that's pretty much what you get at the Powder Room as well. It's a particularly great location if you're looking to host a small private event as the space can easily be cordoned off, and I imagine that's one of the central uses of the Powder Room, especially given the fact that the room is only open on certain days of the week and during limited hours at that. When it comes down to it, the Powder Room is really just an "overflow" space for when the Saint Felix is packed on the weekend. It just happens to have a different name and decor, but at its core, it's the same Saint Felix experience. Once again, this isn't bad a bad thing and only gives you more flexibility and mood options for when you're out drinking in Hollywood. If you're looking for the Saint Felix brand of quality, but in a slightly different surrounding, that's what the Powder Room is for. read more

Ok, first the pros. The drink was bomb (it was a mint cucumber thing) and it was pretty cool that they had board games. The music was pretty great too. Cons: 1. The guy was super pretentious. First he asked us if we knew what the place was. We said a bar. That was the wrong answer. Apparently it's a lounge... 2. He told my friends and I that we looked like we just got home from Survivor. What does that even mean? That we look tired and hungry? 3. He was promoting the shit out of himself and his cocktails. Telling us about his Instagram fame and how great his cocktails are. 4. He kept interrupting us when we clearly didn't want to be interrupted and he didn't even make sense when he interrupted. Like things about him going to the gym? 5. He told us at length about how our drinks were gluten free and how great it is that his drinks are because they're infused and don't have preservatives. 6. He took my friend's card and assumed when she was opening a tab when she definitely didn't want that. 7. He asked us where we were from (which is fine) but then proceeded to comment on each hometown. How most exotic people come from Oklahoma? 8. This place is super small. Like, the size of a living room. But this is the least of the problems. There's more, but I feel like I've made my point. If you enjoy super pretentious and weird bartenders that make pretty good drinks, then go for this place. Otherwise, avoid at all costs. read more

Awesome find in Hollywood. After grabbing a bite to eat next door at St. Felix we were looking for the next stop to grab a few cocktails and boom there was The Powder Room it took me a minute to realize that the bar is actually attached to St. Felix and they share restrooms. The drink menu is really unique and has a combination of tasty craft cocktails and even spiked milkshakes. The bartender was very friendly and the ambiance was great. Great mixology skills at the bar, I even saw a fancy cocktail on the menu that was priced at $500 whoa I'd like to try that. There are probably ten or twelve bar seats and a few tables to grab a seat at. I like the old movie clips that they screen through a projector on the wall. Not a great place for a crowd but and awesome place to grab a drink with a few friends. Nice addition to the Hollywood bar scene. read more

I went to the soft opening last night, and I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to frequenting this place. You guys... the milkshakes... are. to. die. for. They are so delicious I'm salivating just thinking about them. If you like milkshakes, of any kind, you MUST try one here. It will be your new favorite. Their signature cocktails are fabulous, with handmade ingredients and a combination of flavors that create a perfect mixture. I was very pleasantly surprised. They also have liquors you would never see at a traditional bar. A lot of whiskey options, and the legit large sphere ice cubes. If you are a booze nerd, you are going to LOVE the options they have. The ambiance is intimate and warm, the seats are comfortable and everyone is beyond friendly. Rude manager-bartender (he was probably wasted at 11:00), so I didn't get any drinks. I asked if they had a cocktail menu, and he said on the board. I couldn't see what's there (it's not lit), and then he told me to go to Instagram. There's not an actual menu and the site wouldn't load, and the cocktail board doesn't even mention what type of liquor is in the drinks. This top one that was featured was bigger than a fishbowl and that wasn't communicated. Then the girl next to me had a menu! What on earth!! Also, the music was RIDICULOUSLY loud. Amongst the slew of typical Hollywood bars smattered along Cahuenga Blvd, the Powder Room may be quick to dismiss by locals. Also with the extinction of Beauty Bar it made me think if it was another incarnation of the same chain just in different clothing...but after leaving Stella Barra my boyfriend and I decided to see what this little enclave of a watering hole was about. The bar itself is very small, sandwiched in a tiny storefront between the St. Felix and whatever that cafe is at the corner of Selma and Cahuenga (does anyone actually eat there?) It's easily missed because the aesthetics appear very similar to Kitchen 24/St. Felix but they are indeed separate entities. "What was here before?" I inquired with Adam the barkeep. "Nothing" was his reply - when do you ever hear that in this city? It was an empty space that never had a face before it was sold off and the bougie powder room pink decor was installed. Although the name and aesthetic suggests a feminine clientele, I was in the minority as it was mostly dudes. And here's why - the drinks, while artistically garnished and gracefully crafted, they are anything but light and airy. My drinks were so strong I don't even remember what they were called. I remember pear vodka and a peppered cucumber were part of one and cognac and ginger beer part of the other. My boyfriend took down 4 Winchesters which was one of the best whiskey drinks I've ever tasted. The menu is a list of beers, wine, 13 dollar totally worth it mixologist approved cocktails (really getting anything but one of these is a shame) and spiked milkshakes. Adam the bartender was a real treat! Not only does he know how to make an amazing cocktail, he was great to have a nice, honest, down to earth conversation with as the hours slipped by. Also once he was out of one of the Winchester's ingredients, he helped my boyfriend select another option and went out of his way to make sure he was satisfied with the drinks he had. Very rare to find, especially around the Hollywood area. As a Hwood local, it's hard to find spots you want to return to and can enjoy without the typical Hollywood BS and clientele.
