We were told Happy Hour was bar only, which would have been fine... except the entire bar was closed for a private event. So let me get this straight... your Happy Hour is only available in the one area of the restaurant that customers aren't allowed to use? The restaurant wasn't busy, so we politely asked if they could honor the Happy Hour pricing at a table in the main dining room. The young server checked with the manager, came back, and said, "Sorry, we can't." That wasn't a policy decision--it was a customer service failure. When circumstances make it impossible for customers to access the bar, a manager with even a little common sense would accommodate guests in the dining room. Instead, they chose to lose paying customers over a completely avoidable situation. So we simply replied, "Sorry, we're leaving." And that's exactly what we did. Congratulations to management. You successfully turned customers who came in ready to spend money into customers who will never return. There are plenty of restaurants that understand hospitality. This one clearly doesn't.
