Had dinner with a bunch of work colleagues here. Fun and enjoyable evening. The restaurant ambiance is ok, service was great and food was good too. We ordered a bunch of appetizers from zucchini cakes, spanakopita, hummus dip platter, tiger prawns etc. mostly everything was good especially the zucchini cakes. Brussels sprouts were watery, not good For dinner I ordered veg paella, it was really good. They made a nice Negroni, less sweet for me, just the way I like it

Sooo good - Can't remember the name, it was with cucumber & loemon

5 star for ambience & service. 3.5 for food... The place is very cute and Greek style. The staff are attentive & nice. Food was ok but I wouldn't necessary go back for more that's why it's 3-3.5... - fish: our friends ordered 2 fish dishes and seemed fine with it. - lamb shank: meet was rather hard, could have booked longer. Flavors were ok but nothing to brag about. - pork chop: it was dry and the flavors were too sweet for a savory pork dish. Not my style. - Greek dessert: loved it! I love custard and this was perfect. Soft & flakey, not too sweet. Just yum! - poached pear: it was good, enjoyed it but other one was the clear winner.

$118.23 (3 entrees). Moussaka, Pastitsio, Lobster Linguini. All the dishes were very good. The first two are cooked in a ~6" Le Creuset like round casserole dish. The radiant temp keeps that dish hot for a while. The Lobster is picked and cut before it's served. The tail is all for show. My fork was in all the dishes. I enjoyed how the flavors bounced off my palate. Nothing was overbearing, and everything was well balanced. The Bechamel layer is much thicker on the Pastitsio and it's real and it is amazing. I did prefer the Mousaka, but that's just a personal preference and you need to decide for yourself. The Moussaka and Pastitsio are a la carte. I had a late lunch so the portion worked, otherwise I would have needed more. The linguini was a nice mound. The olives and the bread was free! OMG - who would have thought that needs an exclamation point, but the way things are going nowadays, it deserves one. The olives came in a high quality extra virgin oil, so don't let that go back to the kitchen. Thank you to the owner, please don't stop that treat. It was a nice night and most people opted for al fresco dining, which made inside quiet. It was peaceful and nice. The service was prompt with a few miscues, but nothing of a demerit. The pros was our water was never empty, even was we were paying the bill it was being refilled. Bravo. Again, prompt and right on queue. But a con was we were asked about coffee or dessert without a verbal presentation of what they had for dessert. I probably would have ordered dessert if I had been presented with an enthusiastic verbal menu, you know, a little upsell to tempt me. "I'd feel terrible if you left without trying our homemade baklava a la mode or even our ..." you get the picture. Also, strange as it may sound, while we appreciated the good service, and it showed in the percentage we left in cash, the experience would have felt more complete with a quick goodbye or thank you on the way out. We understand things can get hectic, but at that moment it didn't seem busy, so I was wondering if we had missed something when we left. All in all - enjoyed the food and experience.

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and our large group was seated upstairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We had a curated menu for our event, and everything was delicious. The scallop appetizer and rack of lamb stood out in particular, and each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for celebrating with a big group, with plenty of comfortable seating both indoors and outside. I'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

Melitzanosalata - Roasted eggplant with pita bread

Had a great experience here! I'm glad they opened up a Greek place in this neighborhood and a pretty good one! Walked right in and the decor was beautiful. Very lovely and cozy at the same time. Had the best service here. Our server Marino was truly a delight and gave great recommendations for our dining experience. He was very friendly and cheerful! These type of services truly make a difference! The food itself was exquisite! Started with the roasted eggplant with tower pita bread. Delicious pita bread! Wow the bread itself was the star. Also had zucchini cakes and wow it was flavorful. The Octopus was charred perfectly and not chewy or rubbery at all. For something so little was so good. I love a good plate of fries and this place makes it just right. Simple but ton of flavor. I will say I did not like their sauce that goes with it much but probably just me. Honestly the fries are just great on its own! I had the Moscharisia Brizola which was the rib eye steak. WOW! I did not expect to be so freaking good! Ordered as medium rare and it was perfect! Lots of flavor and just melts in your mouth. The grilled asparagus paired with the mashed potatoes was very different from other places which is a good thing. I was blown away! Also got the Moschari Souvlaki and this dish just another star on its own. Ton of flavors but yet so simple! I'm also so happy I got to try their dessert. The best one was the red wine poached pear and the Galaktoboureko. Again just blown away by these two dishes. The pear was not too sweet and not sour. Just the right punch! And the phyllo sheets were the way I liked it, thin and flaky! That's the way it is done. Obviously the place is expensive given their location. But what places aren't expensive these days? Parking was not a problem at all as there are a many spaces everywhere. Go and experience it yourself and you will see.

Great service, super friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. We had the dip platter with flat breads to share, the Greek Salad and the zucchini fritters. All very delicious. For mains we shared lamb chops, the bass, risotto with scallops and the moussaka - so, so good! The outside seating area is perfect for a nice dinner with friends. Highly recommend!

Stumbled upon this delightful Greek restaurant in DT Los Altos. Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant has a really nice chill vibe at lunch. I love the blue and white color all over the restaurant which made us feel like we were back in Santorini. A must try if you want to dine at a nice sit down Greek restaurant. And our service was great too.

Chicken skewer (I got it as a side, but you can get it as a meal - kotopoulo souvlaki)

I came here with a big party for a work dinner. I thought the service was excellent given we had people joining us throughout the dinner and quite a few different requests to accommodate. The highlight of our dinner was seeing the Branzino lit on fire table side! I would say the food was good, not great. For appetizers, we did one of the plates that had all the dips, the lamb meatballs, and the Dolmathes. The lamb meatballs didn't have much flavor, but the grape leaves were good as were the dips. However, the dips only came with four pieces of pita, which was definitely not enough. I ordered what is basically a Greek salad and a chicken skewer (you can see the names on the pictures I posted) for my entree. The Greek salad was very fresh, but had no real dressing to speak of. I would've liked a lot more spice or some type of dressing for flavor. The chicken was excellent - well cooked and juicy with good flavor. For dessert, I had some of the yogurt (we shared desserts for the table, but I only had the yogurt). It was very plain and again and had no flavor. I think the food is just hit or miss here since I did enjoy the chicken and dips. I feel like most of their plates just don't have much flavor. Maybe they need to use more spices in their cooking? The location is beautiful and with the good service, I would highly recommend it for a group dinner. If you're looking for delicious food, though, there's better Mediterranean food around this area.

Spanakopita , zucchini cakes and the drinks .

The ambience of the place was great . Feels like a small Greek town. We are vegetarians and they have good starters ( the zucchini cakes and spanakopita ) and the platter was nice too ( I didn't like the eggplant too much though the grape leaves , the cheese red pepper dish and the yoghurt dish were good ) . I had the whiskey drink which was nice .

Shrimp appetizer -- flavors were amazing

Love this new restaurant in downtown Los Altos! The space is beautiful and makes you feel like you're on vacation. The food is outstanding-- the shrimp appetizer was so flavorful, and the portion was really great for the price. I also recommend the red pepper feta. The pita bread that comes with it is phenomenal, although I wish it came with more than two pieces as the ratio was a bit off. We also had the octopus salad which was pretty good, the octopus just could have been grilled a little longer. We had one other thing-- spinach and cheese (maybe) in some kind of fried dough? I don't want to butcher the name of it by trying, but it was so good as well:) Overall this is a wonderful new restaurant with great service, and I can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu!:)

Nestled in the heart of posh Los Altos downtown, Barbayani offers a taste of upscale Greek cuisine in an elegant setting. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by beautifully designed interiors that blend modern luxury with traditional Greek elements. The ambiance is serene, perfect for a romantic evening or a quiet dinner with friends. Additionally, there is enough outdoor dining space, ideal for enjoying a meal on a pleasant evening. The menu is filled with classic Greek dishes, each prepared with attention to detail. The flavors are authentic, however, if you're a vegetarian, your choices are notably limited. Only Risotto is for vegetarian main course, 3-4 apps and 3 cold appetizer choices. So, we ordered 2 appetizers snd one risotto for two and it was more than enough. Service is attentive and professional, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. However, it's worth noting that the restaurant has a tendency to close early on quieter nights, which can be disappointing if you're planning a late dinner. In summary, its a great spot for those seeking quality Greek cuisine in an upscale environment.

What a cool spot! I loved the color, decor and ambiance..very Greek. Service was on point. The food was delicious. The bread with olive tapenade was a good start. For appetizers, I had tiger prawns, beets, and dolmas. The lovraki was great, very flaky and buttery fish. The eggs royale was good too. The only dish that missed was the dolmas which was very dry.

I decided to give it a try and was informed of the Gluten Free pita option. That clinched the purchase, and the taste guaranteed a return. Today, we sat down for a light lunch and chose to sit outdoors. We ordered chicken hummus with Gluten Free pita. I also got mint lemonade, which was not overly sweet and very refreshing. The service was prompt and courteous. They took plates as we finished without being intrusive. They asked about food allergies and when I said dairy, gluten, and eggs they confirmed it was a sensitivity rather than an allergy. They helped me choose my take home hummus. I will come here over and over. I have missed Mediterranean food and this hits the spots.

I've been a loyal fan of Oren's for a while, usually swinging by to grab a large hummus to-go, but…read morethis was actually my first time sitting down for a proper meal at the Castro Street location. I'm happy to report that the experience holds up just as well as the takeout. * The Service: The service was excellent across the board. Our server was incredibly patient and friendly, which really adds to the welcoming, bustling energy of the place. * The Food: Everything was very well prepared and packed with those authentic Mediterranean flavors you expect here. ** Small Hummus Dip: The namesake of this place is the absolute star. It is thick, creamy, and so flavorful that I honestly think using it as a "dip" is doing it a disservice. You should really just spoon it directly into your mouth! Don't waste this hummus on enhancing something else--let the hummus be selfish - haha. ** Falafel (Side): We ordered the 5-piece side, and they were perfectly fried with a great texture. ** Beef Kebab Rice Bowl: My main was the rice bowl with beef kebabs. The meat was well-seasoned, and like most things here, the portion was definitely substantial. * The Drinks: The biggest pleasant surprise was the seasonal hot mulled wine. On a cold afternoon, this was exactly what I needed. It's hard to find a place that serves it piping hot without losing the natural flavors to a boil, but they nailed it. My date's hot apple cider was equally flavorful and served at that same perfect, steaming temperature. * The Environment & Value: The space is casual but nice, with those signature Moroccan floor tiles giving it some great character. While Castro Street prices can sometimes feel a bit high, the quality and the "village-sized" portions make it a fair trade-off. * The Bottom Line: Whether you're grabbing a container to-go or sitting down for a hot meal and some mulled wine, Oren's remains a Mountain View staple. I'll definitely be back--and I'll probably still be eating that hummus with a spoon :)

I originally booked for 8 people online, which was accepted, but I had one more person join last minute so I called the morning of to adjust it. The person on the phone replied with, "well I guess we don't have a choice" in which I responded with just, "ok". One person ended up canceling last minute which brought my party back down to 8 so I did let the host know prior to me being seated which didn't end up being a problem. I ordered apps for the table as my party began to arrive and while we waited for the last two people. One person didn't and up coming and one other was running so far behind that this person who I suspect was the owner was pacing back and forth stating he needed the table back if they're not going to show. I assured him they were still but it's very rude to say that in front of my entire party and loud enough for everyone around us to hear it. The most senior person in my group even stated how rude that was. It was so embarrassing! I was out calling the person and they finally showed up and I went back out to talk to the gentleman who was telling us he needed the table back and told him that 1 of 2 people showed up and asked him nicely to not take the table and to stop saying he would in front of our party. He told me he wouldn't as it's too late now that they arrived. I have never had this experience anywhere I've dined at before and it's very unprofessional. Though the food and the other staff were great, I unfortunately won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone. If you do decide to dine here, I hope you never encounter a similar experience.
