Lamp chops

We had friends from overseas visiting Bay Area. Barbayani Taverna was chosen to have the welcome party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was nice and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But we brought in a lot of joys and laughter. The manager diligently came to our table to make sure we got enough foods. Needless to say, we ordered a variety of appetizers(Garides Saganaki, burning cheese, Beet Salad, Barba Octopodi) to go with the entree. Several of us picked the lamp chops. But I liked the Lavraki too. Overall, it was interesting as a lot of ingredients were similar to Italian and Spanish.

Had dinner with a bunch of work colleagues here. Fun and enjoyable evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant ambiance is ok[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was great and food was good too. We ordered a bunch of appetizers from zucchini cakes, spanakopita, hummus dip platter, tiger prawns etc. mostly everything was good especially the zucchini cakes. Brussels sprouts were watery, not good For dinner I ordered veg paella, it was really good. They made a nice Negroni, less sweet for me, just the way I like it

Top three greek places ever. We sat outside with six people and a dog, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was beyond amazing. It did take while, but it was worth it. I got the Greek Lobster Linguine, and it was enough for two people to share. See you again soon!

Sooo good - Can't remember the name, it was with cucumber & loemon

5 star for ambience & service. 3.5 for food... The place is very cute and Greek style. The staff are attentive & nice. Food was ok but I wouldn't necessary go back for more that's why it's 3-3.5... - fish: our friends ordered 2 fish dishes and seemed fine with it. - lamb shank: meet was rather hard, could have booked longer. Flavors were ok but nothing to brag about. - pork chop: it was dry and the flavors were too sweet for a savory pork dish. Not my style. - Greek dessert: loved it! I love custard and this was perfect. Soft & flakey, not too sweet. Just yum! - poached pear: it was good, enjoyed it but other one was the clear winner.

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and our large group was seated upstairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We had a curated menu for our event, and everything was delicious. The scallop appetizer and rack of lamb stood out in particular, and each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for celebrating with a big group, with plenty of comfortable seating both indoors and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

Melitzanosalata - Roasted eggplant with pita bread

Had a great experience here! I'm glad they opened up a Greek place in this neighborhood and a pretty good one! Walked right in and the decor was beautiful. Very lovely and cozy at the same time. Had the best service here. Our server Marino was truly a delight and gave great recommendations for our dining experience. He was very friendly and cheerful! These type of services truly make a difference! The food itself was exquisite! Started with the roasted eggplant with tower pita bread. Delicious pita bread! Wow the bread itself was the star. Also had zucchini cakes and wow it was flavorful. The Octopus was charred perfectly and not chewy or rubbery at all. For something so little was so good. I love a good plate of fries and this place makes it just right. Simple but ton of flavor. I will say I did not like their sauce that goes with it much but probably just me. Honestly the fries are just great on its own! I had the Moscharisia Brizola which was the rib eye steak. WOW! I did not expect to be so freaking good! Ordered as medium rare and it was perfect! Lots of flavor and just melts in your mouth. The grilled asparagus paired with the mashed potatoes was very different from other places which is a good thing. I was blown away! Also got the Moschari Souvlaki and this dish just another star on its own. Ton of flavors but yet so simple! I'm also so happy I got to try their dessert. The best one was the red wine poached pear and the Galaktoboureko. Again just blown away by these two dishes. The pear was not too sweet and not sour. Just the right punch! And the phyllo sheets were the way I liked it, thin and flaky! That's the way it is done. Obviously the place is expensive given their location. But what places aren't expensive these days? Parking was not a problem at all as there are a many spaces everywhere. Go and experience it yourself and you will see.

Great service, super friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. We had the dip platter with flat breads to share, the Greek Salad and the zucchini fritters. All very delicious. For mains we shared lamb chops, the bass, risotto with scallops and the moussaka - so, so good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside seating area is perfect for a nice dinner with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

Stumbled upon this delightful Greek restaurant in DT Los Altos. Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant has a really nice chill vibe at lunch. I love the blue and white color all over the restaurant which made us feel like we were back in Santorini. A must try if you want to dine at a nice sit down Greek restaurant. And our service was great too.

Chicken skewer (I got it as a side, but you can get it as a meal - kotopoulo souvlaki)

I came here with a big party for a work dinner. I thought the service was excellent given we had people joining us throughout the dinner and quite a few different requests to accommodate. The highlight of our dinner was seeing the Branzino lit on fire table side! I would say the food was good, not great. For appetizers, we did one of the plates that had all the dips, the lamb meatballs, and the Dolmathes. The lamb meatballs didn't have much flavor, but the grape leaves were good as were the dips. However, the dips only came with four pieces of pita, which was definitely not enough. I ordered what is basically a Greek salad and a chicken skewer (you can see the names on the pictures I posted) for my entree. The Greek salad was very fresh, but had no real dressing to speak of. I would've liked a lot more spice or some type of dressing for flavor. The chicken was excellent - well cooked and juicy with good flavor. For dessert, I had some of the yogurt (we shared desserts for the table, but I only had the yogurt). It was very plain and again and had no flavor. I think the food is just hit or miss here since I did enjoy the chicken and dips. I feel like most of their plates just don't have much flavor. Maybe they need to use more spices in their cooking? The location is beautiful and with the good service, I would highly recommend it for a group dinner. If you're looking for delicious food, though, there's better Mediterranean food around this area.

$118.23 (3 entrees). Moussaka, Pastitsio, Lobster Linguini. All the dishes were very good. The first two are cooked in a ~6" Le Creuset like round casserole dish. The radiant temp keeps that dish hot for a while. The Lobster is picked and cut before it's served. The tail is all for show. My fork was in all the dishes. I enjoyed how the flavors bounced off my palate. Nothing was overbearing, and everything was well balanced. The Bechamel layer is much thicker on the Pastitsio and it's real and it is amazing. I did prefer the Mousaka, but that's just a personal preference and you need to decide for yourself. The Moussaka and Pastitsio are a la carte. I had a late lunch so the portion worked, otherwise I would have needed more. The linguini was a nice mound. The olives and the bread was free! OMG - who would have thought that needs an exclamation point, but the way things are going nowadays, it deserves one. The olives came in a high quality extra virgin oil, so don't let that go back to the kitchen. Thank you to the owner, please don't stop that treat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a nice night and most people opted for al fresco dining, which made inside quiet. It was peaceful and nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The service was prompt with a few miscues, but nothing of a demerit. The pros was our water was never empty, even was we were paying the bill it was being refilled. Bravo. Again, prompt and right on queue. But a con was we were asked about coffee or dessert without a verbal presentation of what they had for dessert. I probably would have ordered dessert if I had been presented with an enthusiastic verbal menu, you know, a little upsell to tempt me. "I'd feel terrible if you left without trying our homemade baklava a la mode or even our ..." you get the picture. Also, strange as it may sound, while we appreciated the good service, and it showed in the percentage we left in cash, the experience would have felt more complete with a quick goodbye or thank you on the way out. We understand things can get hectic, but at that moment it didn't seem busy, so I was wondering if we had missed something when we left. All in all - enjoyed the food and experience.

Spanakopita , zucchini cakes and the drinks .

Fish lovers rejoice!…read more Haven is located is small shopping area with probably 4 more business around. Parking is bit limited, but I was able to find parking a Saturday afternoon, since the other businesses did not have too much going on. Once you enter this space you will see a massive wall of tins to your right, and to your left there will a be a fridge with beer and other drinks. Also to your left a beautiful bar, that it's soft color palette will make you smile. We were greeted and helped by the owner. She used to work on HR and now she is following her passion. She is so friendly, and such a great host, that it almost felt like I was visiting a long term friend's business. Now the menu it's extensive with tins from Portugal, Spain, and many other places. Highly recommend that you consider making it a boards because the bread is so yummy. She made recommendations on wine pairings, but of course you pick. My wife and I consistently come to Cap't Loui for our beloved Friday date nights at least once a month. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the yummy food (we always get 2lbs shrimp/2lbs crawfish combo in Medium Cap't Loui sauce with garlic noodles, garlic bread, and Cajun fries). Wifey and I are stuffed after this but will cleanse our palate with complimentary popsicles in the freezer by the entrance. So yes, the seafood boil and food is absolutely phenomenal. But even MORE impressive is the generationally excellent customer service, in particular from Aung and Edward. They are true servant leaders and I noticed they take care of each and every patron as if they were family members or royalty. Between the delicious food and the brilliant customer service, you better bet your bottom dollar that my wife and I will continue having our traditional Friday night dates at Cap't Loui!!!!

4.5 Stars Rating (:…read more Been hearing about Cap't Loui for awhile now, but haven't tried it until now! I usually go to Cajun Bistro for seafood boil, but I find the quality of the seafood there to be inconsistent, which made me want to try a new place. I got the 4lb combo with crawfish (frozen, fresh is $5 extra), shrimp, and clams, including corn, sausages, and potatoes. We also got garlic noodles and a calamari basket with cajun fries. For seafood boil sauce, we opted for the cajun instead of lemon pepper. I wasn't sure if I would finish everything, but it was INHALED. I really like the seafood quality here, but sauce-wise, I prefer Cajun Bistro for the garlic butter sauce. Cap't Loui does not offer that sauce, but it was still delicious overall. Service is timely and our food came fast, so thats a big plus. Only complaint I have here is that I wish there was more sauce in the bowl. The bowl had too much food, so I couldn't dip or soak my seafood in the flavor.

We started with the hamachi shots they were packed with flavor fish tasted extremely fresh. We also had their lobster escargot, that came with a garlic butter sauce, which was to die for by far my favorite dish of the evening. I had the T-bone halibut with a side of mashed potatoes while my father had the Wagyu flat iron. Fish was cook wonderfully they did not skimp on portions as well. We ended the night with coffees. I had the honey latte. My dad had their espresso he also had their honey butter toast for dessert. They also bring over complementary cotton candy. The flavor with sour apple. All were very good. Only note was my father thought the toast felt more like a cake didn't have the crunch he was hoping for but flavor wise was spot on. I enjoyed a glass of the Chablis they had a very extensive wine list and cocktail menu also having zero proof cocktails, one of which my father had which was a take on a whiskey sour so great and had a perfect foam on top. Overall was amazing. Experience service was top-notch. Whenever a dish was brought out they explained it where it came from how it was cooked, which I personally loved.
