Barbayani Taverna is hard to miss, as the restaurant is attractive and elegant. The mezethes (or appetizers) were delicious and refreshing. Honorable mention to the decadent Kolokithokefethes that were so tasty I forgot to take a picture. The waiters were kind enough to gift us a complimentary Galaktoboureko for my dad's birthday. Overall a great experience and I will be coming back.

We had friends from overseas visiting Bay Area. Barbayani Taverna was chosen to have the welcome party. The place was nice and quiet. But we brought in a lot of joys and laughter. The manager diligently came to our table to make sure we got enough foods. Needless to say, we ordered a variety of appetizers(Garides Saganaki, burning cheese, Beet Salad, Barba Octopodi) to go with the entree. Several of us picked the lamp chops. But I liked the Lavraki too. Overall, it was interesting as a lot of ingredients were similar to Italian and Spanish.

Had dinner with a bunch of work colleagues here. Fun and enjoyable evening. The restaurant ambiance is ok, service was great and food was good too. We ordered a bunch of appetizers from zucchini cakes, spanakopita, hummus dip platter, tiger prawns etc. mostly everything was good especially the zucchini cakes. Brussels sprouts were watery, not good For dinner I ordered veg paella, it was really good. They made a nice Negroni, less sweet for me, just the way I like it

2nd visit in two days, stunning experience with the finest details. Service was top notch, atmosphere was great The salt crusted branzino was absolutely phenomenal. Come see yourself.

5 star for ambience & service. 3.5 for food... The place is very cute and Greek style. The staff are attentive & nice. Food was ok but I wouldn't necessary go back for more that's why it's 3-3.5... - fish: our friends ordered 2 fish dishes and seemed fine with it. - lamb shank: meet was rather hard, could have booked longer. Flavors were ok but nothing to brag about. - pork chop: it was dry and the flavors were too sweet for a savory pork dish. Not my style. - Greek dessert: loved it! I love custard and this was perfect. Soft & flakey, not too sweet. Just yum! - poached pear: it was good, enjoyed it but other one was the clear winner.

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and our large group was seated upstairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We had a curated menu for our event, and everything was delicious. The scallop appetizer and rack of lamb stood out in particular, and each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for celebrating with a big group, with plenty of comfortable seating both indoors and outside. I'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

Had a great experience here! I'm glad they opened up a Greek place in this neighborhood and a pretty good one! Walked right in and the decor was beautiful. Very lovely and cozy at the same time. Had the best service here. Our server Marino was truly a delight and gave great recommendations for our dining experience. He was very friendly and cheerful! These type of services truly make a difference! The food itself was exquisite! Started with the roasted eggplant with tower pita bread. Delicious pita bread! Wow the bread itself was the star. Also had zucchini cakes and wow it was flavorful. The Octopus was charred perfectly and not chewy or rubbery at all. For something so little was so good. I love a good plate of fries and this place makes it just right. Simple but ton of flavor. I will say I did not like their sauce that goes with it much but probably just me. Honestly the fries are just great on its own! I had the Moscharisia Brizola which was the rib eye steak. WOW! I did not expect to be so freaking good! Ordered as medium rare and it was perfect! Lots of flavor and just melts in your mouth. The grilled asparagus paired with the mashed potatoes was very different from other places which is a good thing. I was blown away! Also got the Moschari Souvlaki and this dish just another star on its own. Ton of flavors but yet so simple! I'm also so happy I got to try their dessert. The best one was the red wine poached pear and the Galaktoboureko. Again just blown away by these two dishes. The pear was not too sweet and not sour. Just the right punch! And the phyllo sheets were the way I liked it, thin and flaky! That's the way it is done. Obviously the place is expensive given their location. But what places aren't expensive these days? Parking was not a problem at all as there are a many spaces everywhere. Go and experience it yourself and you will see.

Great service, super friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. We had the dip platter with flat breads to share, the Greek Salad and the zucchini fritters. All very delicious. For mains we shared lamb chops, the bass, risotto with scallops and the moussaka - so, so good! The outside seating area is perfect for a nice dinner with friends. Highly recommend!

Top three greek places ever. We sat outside with six people and a dog, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was beyond amazing. It did take while, but it was worth it. I got the Greek Lobster Linguine, and it was enough for two people to share. See you again soon!

Stumbled upon this delightful Greek restaurant in DT Los Altos. Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant has a really nice chill vibe at lunch. I love the blue and white color all over the restaurant which made us feel like we were back in Santorini. A must try if you want to dine at a nice sit down Greek restaurant. And our service was great too.

I came here with a big party for a work dinner. I thought the service was excellent given we had people joining us throughout the dinner and quite a few different requests to accommodate. The highlight of our dinner was seeing the Branzino lit on fire table side! I would say the food was good, not great. For appetizers, we did one of the plates that had all the dips, the lamb meatballs, and the Dolmathes. The lamb meatballs didn't have much flavor, but the grape leaves were good as were the dips. However, the dips only came with four pieces of pita, which was definitely not enough. I ordered what is basically a Greek salad and a chicken skewer (you can see the names on the pictures I posted) for my entree. The Greek salad was very fresh, but had no real dressing to speak of. I would've liked a lot more spice or some type of dressing for flavor. The chicken was excellent - well cooked and juicy with good flavor. For dessert, I had some of the yogurt (we shared desserts for the table, but I only had the yogurt). It was very plain and again and had no flavor. I think the food is just hit or miss here since I did enjoy the chicken and dips. I feel like most of their plates just don't have much flavor. Maybe they need to use more spices in their cooking? The location is beautiful and with the good service, I would highly recommend it for a group dinner. If you're looking for delicious food, though, there's better Mediterranean food around this area.

$118.23 (3 entrees). Moussaka, Pastitsio, Lobster Linguini. All the dishes were very good. The first two are cooked in a ~6" Le Creuset like round casserole dish. The radiant temp keeps that dish hot for a while. The Lobster is picked and cut before it's served. The tail is all for show. My fork was in all the dishes. I enjoyed how the flavors bounced off my palate. Nothing was overbearing, and everything was well balanced. The Bechamel layer is much thicker on the Pastitsio and it's real and it is amazing. I did prefer the Mousaka, but that's just a personal preference and you need to decide for yourself. The Moussaka and Pastitsio are a la carte. I had a late lunch so the portion worked, otherwise I would have needed more. The linguini was a nice mound. The olives and the bread was free! OMG - who would have thought that needs an exclamation point, but the way things are going nowadays, it deserves one. The olives came in a high quality extra virgin oil, so don't let that go back to the kitchen. Thank you to the owner, please don't stop that treat. It was a nice night and most people opted for al fresco dining, which made inside quiet. It was peaceful and nice. The service was prompt with a few miscues, but nothing of a demerit. The pros was our water was never empty, even was we were paying the bill it was being refilled. Bravo. Again, prompt and right on queue. But a con was we were asked about coffee or dessert without a verbal presentation of what they had for dessert. I probably would have ordered dessert if I had been presented with an enthusiastic verbal menu, you know, a little upsell to tempt me. "I'd feel terrible if you left without trying our homemade baklava a la mode or even our ..." you get the picture. Also, strange as it may sound, while we appreciated the good service, and it showed in the percentage we left in cash, the experience would have felt more complete with a quick goodbye or thank you on the way out. We understand things can get hectic, but at that moment it didn't seem busy, so I was wondering if we had missed something when we left. All in all - enjoyed the food and experience.

Well, honestly, probably the worst oyster-eating-experience I've ever had. The oysters didn't taste great (honestly I was questioning if I liked oysters as much as I thought I did because they just tasted...fine. Not as amazing as oysters usually do). Also, they only serve spicy sauces to go with your oysters. ONLY spicy options (horseradish, a jalapeño mignonette, and a chipotle something or other, and horseradish or cocktail sauce). Oysters have an incredible but delicate flavor, while I can understand people wanting to spice it up sometimes, spicy sauces will totally overpower the oyster flavor. Worst of all, when I asked if i could get a side of *any vinegar* to be able to make just like a basic mignonette-ish option, their response was that they have *no vinegar* anywhere in the restaurant. I don't know how you brand yourself fully on a type of food (oysters), and then serve them ONLY in a way where you can't actually taste them! Also had a grilled artichoke app, which was fine, but again served only with a spicy sauce. Our server was great, I didn't catch her name though!

However, a staff member named Viri intervened and insisted we be seated at a different table. When I requested a different location, I was told it was unavailable due to other reservations. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I am familiar with how reservation systems function; I noted that the restaurant remained largely empty during our visit. The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Sushi in a Peruvian restaurant? However, I did not expect to be one of the best and interesting rolls I have tried ever. The arroz con mariscos was my favorite by far. It really reminds me of a Spanish paella, with a seafood galore presented with a bed of rice and veggies. It was very filling and delicious. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. I am already looking forward to my next visit here, and please, give this Peruvian spot a try, because you will never go back to any other ones besides this spot.

Hubby made a reservation for 5:45pm on a Friday because other times were taken/blocked off. We arrived and the front hostess didn't smile. She just said hello but not in a friendly way. It seemed like her only job was to check our reservation. Then an older gentleman came over to walk us to our table. Also cold personality and did not speak/greet us. No one asked us if we were there for businesses or celebrating a special occasion. However, our head/main waiter was nice and attentive. He went over the menus. I didn't like anything on the cocktail menu so I just requested a French75 cocktail and the bartender did a good job with that. Ordered the sea urchin special for an appetizer, not my favorite but my husband loved it. I ordered the John Dory fish entree and we shared a side of brussels and ham w/ 8 cheese mac n cheese. The fish entree was presented beautifully but the flavors were mild. I think the most flavor I got was from the morel mushrooms. The mac n cheese came out bare and by that I mean it was coated because the cheese was so hot that it melted to the bottom of the bowl. We waited for it to cool down so that when we stirred it up the cheese actually coated the pasta. The brussels sprouts had little a little caramelization on them but both sides dishes were just okay on flavor. Neither stood out and honestly could have skipped the brussels. I forgot the name of the fish entree my hubby got but he said it was just okay too. After an hour of being there, still very few people there and were were pretty much the only ones outside on the deck (so not sure why the lack of reservation times). There was no light music or any other chatter so it was kind of odd. Overall we thought for the price point, the overall dining experience was not something we wanted to repeat. It is very challenging to find a nice restaurant for a special occasion and unfortunately we had a dinner...just not a 5 star dinner experience.

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much
