Took my car to the service center with an issue with my door actuator malfunctioning. Was told they couldn't find the issue. Walked out to pick up my car after they had it for over 7 hours to open the door to the same issue that they said they couldn't find. Told they would order the part and it's been 3 weeks already and I still haven't received the phone call I asked for from the manager or my part. I was told my car repairs would be done in about a week and a half. After almost two weeks, I decided to call and check the status of my vehicle. I was told that they were still waiting on the part and it would take another week and a half to get my car back. I don't think they ever ordered my part. And if they saw a delay in the estimated time it would take to get my car back, they should've reached out to me to let me know. This was my first time having horrible service at Honda. I had my Honda pilot towed to have motor checked. Now I knew I was more than likely replacing the motor but wanted to at least hear the options. The pilot set for 2 weeks until it was assigned to a tech and upon being assigned was sent a quote for over 13k to repair or replace for 9k with a used motor with over 127k miles. I asked for the diagnostic printout and found that nothing was even complete. I contacted 3 other Honda dealerships and found out how bad barber really it. Currently having my pilot towed to the Santa Maria dealership to have the work done currently, in a timely manner. read more

Hubby and I came here late Saturday afternoon once we had done our research online and I had previously taken some test drives at several dealerships. We decided on the exact make and model of car we wanted to purchase and Barber had the vehicle in stock. Our salesman really didn't need to do much selling. He accompanied us on the test drive and answered a few basic questions for us. We did have a trade in and they actually gave us a great deal on that which helped with the down payment of the new car. He said that Honda does not haggle, give rebates, or do any kind of mark downs. The sticker price was the price-take it or leave it. Ouch. We took it. While waiting for bank approval and all the other formalities, I asked if there were any refreshments- thinking that if we were purchasing a car, the least they could do was offer complimentary beverages or snacks. No such luck. The whole process took probably 3 hours. Didn't really feel the love or appreciation from any of the staff. I'm happy with my purchase so that's what counts. read more

Don't take your car to this dealership or even consider buying a car from them!!! They are so rude and so unwelcoming. I had called regarding a service and the girl on the phone sounded like she didn't want to talk to me & very unhelpful. I then took my car in for a recall and the service advisor Ermalinda was very rude also. I was wanting to see if i could get a loaner car for the day and she said no there wasn't any without even thinking about it. I told her i had other things to do and if she could ask if there was any loaner cars available and she supposedly called someone but she literally just picked up the phone and pretended to call someone and said no. They're not very good with their communication. I got there at 10:30am & I was told my car would be expedited and after 4 hours I asked if it was almost done and that's when they told me it had not even been started yet and it would be ready at 5..... If i didn't ask they would not have told me. Then I got a text my car was done and then I replied asking for a ride, she never responded to me. Then i called and that's when i was able to get a ride. After i picked up my car i called another dealership in ventura for the same problem i had took it in and without me asking they were offering me a loaner car and even told me if they didn't have one they could rent one out for me. This morning went in at appointed drop off time, 30 minuets later they call and tell me they DON'T have my parts. Epic fail. Then when you get there they offered $11.400 because of two almost invisible dinges (you can only see them at just the right angle) and because the rear bumper has a few light scratches where you load the rear. Honest that is what Jole said $2,000 off for that.. It is definitely a bait and switch. Don't waste your time going to them if you want to sell your car. From there I went to Car Max which had offered $13,400 on line for my car. After they took it for a test drive they offered me the full $13,400 price. I had a check within an hour and my car was sold. This proved to me and further validated that Barber Honda is a bait and switch rip off. read more

Today August 7, the smog testing facility I took my 2020 CRV car to informed me they were unable to communicate with the vehicle. They suggested taking it to a Honda dealer. I contacted Barber Honda's service department to schedule an appointment. I was told if I come in without an appointment, the car would sit there for 1-1/2 weeks. The first available appointment is in September. I explained that CA DMV requires the vehicle to be registered within 20 days. So that timelime doesn't work. The service response remained the same; bring it in or wait until September. Since this was totally unacceptable, I asked to speak with the service manager. I was transfered to voice mail. Never received a call back. If this is the type of unsatisfactory service I can expect from this PRETEND Honda dealer, then I should just get rid of this SUV even though I have owned several Hondas over the years. As a side note, Visalia Honda could get me in August 22. Auto Nation Honda Valencia scheduled me for this Thursday, August 10. Both are a 1-1/2 hour drive each way. I believe word of mouth counts. My cars AC stopped working. And I just wanna give props to ERMA in the service department because she was so informative, quick and nice with me through the whole visit. She helped me use SUNBIT in order to pay the hefty expenses of an AC issue. And she worked with my schedule at all times even letting me leave my car overnight while i gathered all the stuff I needed. As a former service advisor myself, i can 100% agree that she is doing an amazing job for Honda. The others are nice too, but ERMA, she definitely goes the extra mile for her customers and I will always be happy with that, even if the repairs are hefty. I drove over 100 miles to purchase my new CR-V Sport Touring here for several reasons: 1) The car was priced at fair market value based on national averages. I was never pushed to purchase items I did not need/want 2) I felt respected by Joel. This resulted in me not taking local price matches. Then they told her that there was an issue with the brakes and quoted her $180.00. She said "ok." It turned out that the charge was to "inspect" the brakes. Not repair them. My HRV had peeling paint which I found out online was from defective paint used by Honda on several models of Honda. after calling Honda numerous times I was finally sent to a paint shop which had my car for 8 days, Honda do not paint my entire car even though defective paint was used on the entire car and I was told I was two months out of an extended warranty which I never received, I was required to pay $600 towards painting.During this process it took me days to get my calls returned from service manager, excuse was they are busy. since getting my car back the door molding is falling off, have called service manager and again after 3 days again never received a return call was told they were too busy. next was told to now take my car back to shop they picked and hopefully it would be repaired. would never purchase another car from this dealership. read more

I had to have my car serviced. I made an appointment and was there on time. They took the car fix the necessary items. The receptionist staff and service was very helpful and extremely kind. They told me it would take an hour I stayed in the lobby area where it was clean and they had water and coffee and soft drinks and some stupid food show. At the end of the hour I went down to the service receptionist and since I walked in, they knew who I was. They knew what I was there to pick up so that I could get on my way gave them my credit card. Everything was done fast and efficiently, the car was washed. It was parked out front. It was a great experience. I have come to call these few good experiences with competency as competent experiences. I know that sounds very redundant however, I was very surprised pleasantly so that everything went so well when I left I turned and talk to the service area personnel and said you guys are doing a great job. Scheduled an appointment for a tire psi warning light. We have had issues in the past with this issue. It is reoccurring. Upon arriving and going into the service department I asked for them to look at the sensors for the tires and a few other requests. I was immediately told I should see the express service center to air my tires and that the tread depth of the tires could effect the sensors. Having dealt with the sensors before I explained that we have be dealing with the sensors and was looking for more then to simply have them put air in the tires. This request was met with, "it is Friday and anything on Friday could possibly have to wait till the next service day on Monday" ( currently 1pm) and that "I shouldn't schedule services online at the end of the weekend if I was looking to get my car back quickly". After I insisted on have the car looked at, I was incurring a 170 dollar diagnostic charge which I was willing to have, if it fixed my car. I waited 3 hours and was later told my tires are to old and they have cracks which are releasing the air along with my tread depth being too low. This car sits in a garage and has 60k miles and is around 6 years old. Has a daily commute of 3 miles a day lol I was charged a 10 point inspection for 55 dollars for the same services they offered for free at the start of the conversation. I understand that I do not know everything that happens underneath the hood of the car or the tires for instance... But I feel that this service condescending and unnecessary. Instead of trying to accommodate my services which I'm paying for, I was treated like it was a chore and that my concerns were inadequate. The customer service I received from one of their service advisors was terrible from beginning to end. This person was not very pleasant to speak with at any point and judging from the sound of her co-workers, it seemed this issue was also internal and not just external. Unfortunately me and my family were traveling though during the Thanksgiving holiday and we had no other choice but to work with them as they appeared to be the only Honda dealership in the area. Initially everything appeared to be fine, but as issues related to what they helped became apparent, the only recommendation offered by this person was for me to go pay for a diagnostic to prove it was because of their service. I emailed their exec team in hopes of a better resolution to end up only receiving an email from their sales manager about wanting to sell me a vehicle. When I responded I explained my email was not for me to buy a vehicle from them but instead to make a complaint about this person, I never heard back. Poor quality of service from top to bottom here. Be weary and aware when working with them. Hope I never have to do service with them again. 20/10 do not recommend. read more

Posting here as well as Google is hiding my review As much as I hate posting my personal life online, this needs to be known to the general public. I have owned multiple Honda vehicles in the past and never experienced any mechanical or technological failures. We owned a 2014 White Honda Accord, a 2013 Black Honda Accord Sport and recently upgraded to a 2020 Pilot SUV as my family grew. We paid cash and in full to avoid payments. HUGE mistake! My AC stopped working in March and it is now July with no AC. We have been given the run around since March after the diagnostic as the "part" needed is non-existent or backordered. Not sure what to believe now. We live in the valley, where it gets over 100°+ degrees. HOT! This is my only transportation and have been driving myself and my toddler to work and daycare everyday! I am extremely upset as when I try to bring up my concerns to Honda in Bakersfield, CA, including to my warranty company, my concerns are not resolved. I do not need validation or a 5 day car rental when its been clearly 3 months now. I need my vehicle's AC fixed asap or be provided with my refund or minimum an exchange. This is my only transportation. I have never made complaints and usually very understanding but this has gone way too long. March to Now, and the part needed is not in yet and I keep getting the run-around. Horrible customer service on top of my hot shitty brand new SUV. Oh and NOT to mention that I was confirmed for May 26, 2023 @ 10:00 AM to finally get it fixed. I took a day off from work, I show up and wait 2 hours patiently & excited thinking I am finally getting my AC fixed. 2 hours later they informed me that the part is not in AGAIN. After sitting there for 2 hours and missing work? Why bother confirming with me? I REGRET paying it off. A new car, minimum, the AC should be working. I have not been offered any reasonable solutions besides "it is under warranty" but warranty is worthless and Honda is not helpful at all. Have you tried driving around in this Heat wave with No AC? I can easily take my car to get fixed elsewhere but warranty already warned me that they will not cover any future failures. BUT can't even fix this problem.. smh...Horrible customer service. This review is for the service department: I've been getting my oil changed here since buying my car in 2018. Went in on 8/19/22 at 8:00am, approximately 10 cars in front of me. That's cool, I get it. Decided to wait 45 minutes and no action from the service department. I decide to leave and come back later. I return at 12pm and there are 3 cars in front of me being serviced. Cool, I decide to wait in my car for someone to come out and check me in. 30 minutes later, no one comes out (there's a sign to wait in your car to be checked in). It's 100 degrees out so I decide to go in and ask to be checked in. There's two girls at the front desk and I ask to get my car serviced. Their reply: "it's late (12:30) and there's a 50/50 chance your car will get serviced today". Uhmmm... 1) I literally wasted 30 minutes waiting for you to come out, 2) you close at 2pm, and 3) you should put that on a sign outside or something. So disappointed and I will not be returning. This place is trash. Get your car serviced elsewhere where they are consistent. read more

On Monday, April 2nd, we had a bit of trouble with a road hazard on northbound I5 north of state route 99, and called a tow truck to tow our honda to Barber Honda (which took 3 hours... I do NOT recommend Ben's Towing at ALL). We had two flat tires. Because of all that has happened within those 4 hours, my girlfriend and I were left frustrated, anxious, fearful, and all the above. We walked into Barber Honda hoping to receive some sort of help, but we got way more than that. Immediately walking in, we told the receptionist the situation, and her and Larry helped out so much. They were being super prompt, considerate, kind, and I don't believe I've ever received customer service like those two from an auto company ever, so thank you for making us feel tremendously better after everything that has happened. Larry reassured us that he talked to the mechanic for a walk-in appointment, told them our situation, and everything just went by so smoothly. After that, we went into the mechanic side and talked to Taylor and Sarah, who were both extremely helpful, kind, and honestly the sweetest people you'll ever meet in any Honda. Sarah especially went above and beyond to make sure our warranty covered expenses, and allowed for us to feel better knowing that. She did what she could to make us feel that everything is going to work out, and even hoped herself that everything would work out for us! After about half an hour, she gave me a call and told us the situation about the rims, and said we might need to stay an extra day... but it can't be helped. 5 minutes after that, I don't know what she did but bless her soul she called again saying they actually had the parts they needed to put everything together for them to fix that day, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. Joshua (or Josh) helped so, so much in making sure everything was good to go for our tires. He did what he could to see if we had the piece and afterwards the car looked amazing. He even came in to show me front-facing what parts were left damaged and what part was fixed. He, Nick, and Sarah both stayed after their closing time at 6pm to help my girlfriend and I, and I couldn't be more thankful for that. They made us feel so comfortable and satisfied. Sarah even made sure the cost was as low as it could be from what she initially said! And Josh even told me a tip to calibrate the car when I was inside. Honestly, I can't thank all these people enough. These words can't describe how grateful I am to have received kindness and amazing customer service from these wonderful folks. I had took my car to see if a defective part was going to be covered under warranty and they told me it was not covered which I did understand but then they told me I still had to pay the diagnostic fee out of pocket even though I have manufacture warranty which makes no sense when I took my car to AutoNation Honda in Valencia they did not charge me any diagnostics fee even though I declined for them to repair it as the part is only $60 and now I am being charge $220 to literally just plug in a wiring harness putting it back into its spot. Zero stars if I could. I have brought my car in on two separate occasions for service. I had my catalytic converter replaced and yet my car is still having the issues it was experiencing before. I also brought it in a second time for a wiring problem in my front blinker and they didn't listen that we had already tried yo replace the bulb and it didn't work. They also tried replacing the bulb and it doesn't work still even though on the recipient it says no issues. When I brought in my car the first time I was put on a waiting list for a rental and at first I was number 6 in line and then the next day I was number 11. I hate this place and it was the worst decision I've ever made in my life to buy a car from them. read more

On our way from Sacramento to Anaheim, the splash guard underneath my Honda Fit had come loose and was making an awful noise. Rather than drive with the noise and risk further damage, we decided to detour to Barber Honda and get it fixed. The folks here were super friendly and helpful. They secured the splash guard temporarily with tie-wraps and performed a quick tire inspection. Total cost: $0. Despite arriving at 3:30 PM, they took us right in at the express service station. They the get parts and say oh we missed a few more part , you'll have to wait for those to come in. They are on back order. AC blows completely hot. We've taken in the vehicle a total of 3 times now. Throughout that time span we attempted to call to speak to Jose (service advisor) who would never return our phone calls. After being insistent and asking for a service manager we finally heard back. When arriving to drop the vehicle off for the 3rd time Jose only stated, "what's it doing now?" Completely unsympathetic and disregarding the fact that we are paying customers who have lost time and days of work to get there and get our AC fixed. My battery went out for the third time, my car was new when i purchased in 2016, it was one of remaining 2015 cars. My battery died in 2017 and again in 2020 and my battery just died for the third time last week. Im told by AAA that these batteries should last 8 years to 100k miles. The first two were replaced by Honda, however my last one i had to buy, the manager Cleo gave me a 20 percent discount, it still cost me 169.00 with tax, my daughter bought her car here too and im sad to say, no loyalty for return customers.
