Stopped in and sat the bar on a Friday night for a few tapas and drinks and it was still just as good as the first time! I love the ambiance here and I enjoy bringing friends in from out of town. The bartenders were friendly and service was quick. Next time I'll try the tres leches!

Great options for Friday in Lent, and the sangria was very good. Waitress was very timely and I will definitely be coming back

Every time I come here I think it's going to be phenomenal and every time I'm disappointed. First thing's first: The service is always phenomenal. The food, however, is just not as good as it should be, especially for the price. We were there tonight and the patatas bravas were not hot and there were almost no potatoes--it was all sauce. And potatoes are cheap! Brussels were okay and the calamari was delicious but 90% crumbs versus actual squid. I will say the paella is typically very good. The worst part was the desert I got to go. The chocolate cake tasted like a prepackaged cake you'd get out of a Little Debbie box. If this place was super cheap I would not have a problem, but with all of the other options in the area, it's just not worth it. But the shining star of this place is, by far, the service.

Glad to see this place has reopened and not too far from their previous location either. I made reservations for 6pm (yes, they take reservations now). When we got there, the place was packed with only a couple of options for a table. We were asked if we preferred the table by the front door, in the middle of the big groups or by the TV at the far end of the restaurant. We chose the last option. We had to wait in the beginning as our waiter finalized everything with the huge table next to us and then he came over. It was about a 10-minute wait before he came and took our orders. We placed drink orders and 3 dishes to start with. The highlight of this visit was truly the lightning speed with which the kitchen staff turned out our orders. Super fast and tasty food were delivered at our table way before our drinks even came. We were finished with one dish and was well into the next when our drinks finally came. Below is the run down of all the things we've tried during our visit: 1. Datiles con cabra - goat cheese filled dates wrapped in bacon and a sauce. Delicious and well-balanced sweet and savory flavors. They also came skewered which was perfect for eating with your hands. 2. Atun con pimienta - peppered tuna steak served atop wilted spinach and rioja reduction. We asked for the tuna steaks to be prepared medium and it was delivered that way. Really good tuna steaks. No complaints for either of us. 3. Pincho de Pollo y chorizo - chicken and chorizo skewer with some aoili sauce. Again, excellent flavors. I love the grilled taste with the kitchen and the spicy chorizo sausage. I wish it was more than just 1 skewer though. 4. Alcachofas fritas - breaded and deep fried artichokes served with some type of tomatoey sauce and aoili. This dish was huge. We actually did not finish because it was a lot of artichokes but that's not a bad thing. 5. Setas amontillado - wild mushrooms sautéed in sherry butter, garlic and parsley. I couldn't taste the parsley, thankfully! But this dish was well prepared and delicious. We had another drink while finishing our dishes. They came slightly faster than our first. While this place was packed, fairly loud, and super busy, we did enjoy the ambiance. Once everything got going, service was fantastic and attentive, especially the kitchen staff and I think, the owner. I love the unpretentious and very friendly feel of this place. Overall, I'm so glad Barcelona in Clayton exists again and we will definitely be back!

The environment of the restaurant is top tier. The group I went with got several small plates to share which were all delicious. I loved the calamari and the bacon wrapped dates. The only thing is some of the food took awhile to come out.

Came in around 7:30 on a Thursday and decided to dine in since it wasn't too packed. We ordered the garlic wings (5), beef skewers, beef empanadas, and the veggie paella. Everything was so good I completely forgot to take a "before" picture--so my photo is very much a mid-meal shot. Portions were generous, and we even had leftovers to take home. I also liked that the kitchen is right up front, so you can watch everything being prepared. Our waitress was excellent--she made sure Thursday Night Football was on for us and checked in regularly without hovering. The ambiance is casual but polished: well-lit inside with bar seating and high-top tables, plus outdoor seating if the weather cooperates. Between the food, service, and vibe, Barcelona is definitely worth a return visit.

I'm always excited about a tapas bar, and Barcelona delivered. Admittedly, there was a bit of the halo effect because one of my favorite tapas spots ever is a chain with the same name (was a little bummed this was not a part of that chain, but still pleased by my experience here). I went for a lunch date mid-week and there was no wait for a walk-in, and we had the option of sitting at the bar or a table (opted for the bar). It's a cute little space with ample seating and cozy vibes. Service was prompt and the staff seemed pretty close-knit (love a spot where the staff seems happy to be there). The menu had the appropriate length, in my opinion. It had quite a number of options without making me feel bad that I couldn't order everything I wanted. Everything was made fresh to order and you could see some of it prepped behind the bar, and the food didn't take long to come out. It was nice to have everything come out piping hot. I both appreciated that we were just given the entire water pitcher to refill our own glasses and felt a little awkward about it. For the dishes -- the sauce of the gambas was perfect, although the shrimp itself was a little overcooked; I wish it came with bread to dip, although you could order a side of their garlic bread. The garlic bread had the perfect consistency of soft and toasted, and I appreciate that it came out pre-sliced in the size that it did. It was a bit cheesier in taste than my preference (I don't even think there is cheese on it so I could not explain this to you), but my partner said he thought it was perfect. Broccolini was really yummy and the balsamic glaze was so good, and I say this as someone who usually doesn't like balsamic. It was the right amount of flavor and sweetness without overwhelming the broccolini. The flavors of the papas bravas was fantastic, and the dish came out exactly how I expected it to (some places try to get too fancy with their papas/patatas bravas and they miss the quintessential flavors that make it the comforting dish that it is). Albondigas were so tender and moist, and I enjoyed them. My partner also ordered the brussel sprouts (I abstained because I don't like raisins, which were included in the dish), and his complaint was it was oilier than he would've liked. Overall, everything was incredibly filling and hit the spot for a nice, gloomy day. We walked away with a lot of leftovers. I would come back if I were craving filling tapas and re-order almost everything I tried, although my partner did feel that everything was made a little heavier than he preferred (I don't mind greasy food). I would still recommend trying this spot out, but probably wouldn't frequent it every week or so.

    Beef Tenderloin Calamari Paella Arancini

While the presentation was nice, the food didn't quite capture authentic Spanish flavors, and the cost felt a bit high. The sangria leaned more toward a lemonade-wine taste than what I expected.

I was happy to finally check out their new location! It's a bit smaller, but larger than it seems from the outside. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. We shared the salmon, patatas bravas, vegetable paella, and a few empanadas and all of the food was just as good as I remembered it. Especially the veggie empanadas :) The paella was new to me, but it was so filling and they really piled the rice and vegetables in the dish. It was cool to be able to watch them cooking the food while we waited.

Such a great spot! I've been before at the old location but it was nice to see this one! I went with two friends and we got 5 tapas and the Valencia-style paella! The portions are all bigger than what you would imagine for tapas. The brocollini was so great, the croquetas incredibly delicious and not too salty and the burrata was also great! We got a pitcher of sangria as well. Great value for the price!

Super excited that this place was reopening! Went during the week with a friend. The place is a lot smaller than the old location and was a little loud due to live music in a small space. Not a lot of seating, but it was a weekday so that was not an issue. Waitress came to table pretty quickly and we ordered our dishes and a pitcher of red sangria. Sangria was good, but I doubt it had much alcohol in it. For tapas we ordered meatballs, garlic bread, paella crochets, potatas bravas, fried artichokes and gambas. Food came out pretty quick, but we did not get our gambas. Positive of that was that we were pretty full with the food that came out and they were not on the bill so we let it go. Only other complaint is that after we ordered, we did not see our waitress again nor did she check in, we had to flag her down for our bill. Since this place has not been open long, I am sure they are still working out their kinks, so I will definitely go back. Particularly to try the shrimp.

The space feels effortlessly stylish -- low lighting, lively crowd, and that kind of energy where every table looks like they're in on something exciting. I kept it seafood-focused and started with the oysters. They were impeccably fresh, briny, and beautifully presented on ice with the right accompaniments. You could taste the ocean in the best way possible. The tinned fish selection was a fun surprise -- elevated and thoughtfully plated rather than just opening a can and calling it a day. Though, the music didn't exactly match the same vibe. It sorta felt like I was in a nightclub in Spain. We thought the food was delicious overall and ordered the branzino, pan con tomate, meatballs, sangria, house salad, and flan for dessert. It seemed each table got some crusty bread for a starter, but we found it a bit odd it didn't come with any oil, butter or something. Each dish was shareable (small plates except the entrees were bigger) which made it a more fun, shared experience, and we got to try several different things before getting full. I'd never had branzino and thought all the dishes were very good and would order all again, but I would go with a different salad choice. The service was good, but not great for the price point. Since it was our first time visiting and several items were in Spanish, I felt the server could have provided a bit more guidance to the menu offerings and concept. Considering the meal for two ended up being well over $100 I was expecting a higher level of service. Overall, I think it's a great little restaurant in Clayton for a special occasion or date night. It's pricey for sure, but I think the menu offerings are unique, and the dark cozy vibe made me feel like I wasn't even in St. Louis.

Nothing divey about a hip cocktail or hip deviled eggs -- these are sophisticated modern twists, the exact move wine bars make and dives don't. A chalkboard of specials and weathered seating gesture at the aesthetic; the rest of the room knows. Kendall Roy of restaurants -- comes from privilege, wants badly to be of the people. It's a bit, and mostly the kitchen and bar back it up. Nevertheless, we arrived to a full room, hour wait for a table, but we fortunately arrived to snag the last first come patio table. The bar was also full, by the way, which felt neighborhood like, people clearly like this place during happy hour. The old fashioned makes the case: Old Grand-Dad Bonded, pickled rye, cognac, butterscotch bitters. Two whiskeys and a bitter you won't find at an actual dive. Rich, a little sweet. The harissa deviled eggs keep going -- fried shallots, roasted red peppers, cilantro, marinated tomato jam. You know, just like the old dive with the $1 PBR.Deviled eggs for people that don't like deviled eggs. However, we love deviled eggs...foreshadowing. The short ribs are the headline -- fall-apart tender over whipped potatoes substantial enough to stand up to the meat, gravy spot on. Eats like a perfectly executed roast dinner. The brie burger is the sneaky second hit, genuinely decadent, bacon with the cheese melting into the beef. The service was good and pleasant and that felt more like dive-friendly, where you might expect a wine "bar" to be snooty or full of themselves. 4.4 Stars Picking Nits: hip deviled eggs that reach past what they can hold. Tomato jelly on top is a lot going on, in the wrong way, and the egg disappears under it. These are trying to be hip deviled eggs more than they're trying to be good deviled eggs. Every ambitious kitchen has one plate that tries too hard; this appears to be one. A 5 needs those eggs landing, in the same way the entrees excelled. Regardless, we'll be back.

They have a unique cocktail program--I sampled most of my friend's drinks (my favorite was the Strawberry Balsamic gin tonic). However, I ordered the shakeajillio, which was pretty basic espresso martini, not my favorite I've ever had, but just so-so. Every single person in my party was absolutely blown away with the food. We tried several of the tapas and shared as a table, my absolute favorites are as follows (in order): 1. Agnolotti - this one surprised me, but the pasta may have been the best I've ever had. It was the perfect thickness and had just enough bite, filled perfectly full of creamy goat cheese, and swimming in a perfectly balanced sauce. 2. Brussel Sprouts - hands down the best I've had. Crisped perfectly, with a tart and acidic glaze, loaded with toppings. I could NOT stop eating them, long after I was full. 3. Tuna on Toast - this was a popular one for the whole table--very unexpected but so, so good. The charred bread with a super soft interior that it came on was fabulous as well. This is also the only tapa I got a picture of. We also got the patatas bravas, Spanish Caesar, beef carpaccio, gambas Al ajillo, and chorizo white wine mussels--all also great, except for the carpaccio which was a little salty for my taste. It's worth noting that the portions are larger than I expected, WELL worth the price! One friend opted for a full size entree, and she went for the strip steak which she absolutely loved. If you haven't been, you simply MUST GO. Idol Wolf is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the whole city after just one visit. You've got a fan for life!

The table outside was set when we arrived but then actively cleared by the busser after we sat down. No one came back to check in. We felt unwelcome and quickly left. It was unnecessarily uncomfortable and put a damper on what was supposed to be a celebratory meal. This was a service failure. I understand the need to turn tables over quickly, but we should have been given at least 5 minutes notice, especially when the kitchen is running behind. Alternatively, the drinks could have been taken off the bill and we could have left outright. Even help moving or any involvement from our server or the manager would have been appreciated, but they were not present. (They were SO EMPTY, not even a crumb remained!!) We ordered four tapas to start, but the chowder I had just for me was my favorite! Just the right amount of rich and not fishy. Excellent selection of drinks, too! Dining area is intimate but not stuffy.

Our bartender was very attentive (which was expected as there were only two other couples at the bar). A couple of French 75's and a nice bottle of Rose was just the right choice. We ordered some small plate action starting with stuffed mushrooms, then split the Ensalada One Salad, wings and finished with the always fantastic carnitas fries! If you've never tried the Chili-Rubbed wings, do yourself a favor and go there soon....goodness personified! Everything was delicious and we got to watch some women's collegiate volleyball in TV. Why volleyball? Well....why not? The only detractor from this overall, near perfect experience, was a longer than expected delay in getting those yummy mushrooms. This could be due to a kitchen staffing shortage or the bartender may have forgotten to ring order in....hey, it happens! But once we took that first bite and tasted that boursin cheese, Italian sausage with parmesan inside.....wait, what wait? I'm drooling right now thinking about it. One 19 North is definitely one of our top 3 places to eat in Kirkwood!

We went on a Sunday around 5 pm and there were already a couple other tables there, so I can imagine it fills up quickly at normal dinner times. I would probably make a reservation if planning to go at a typical hour. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and really on top of things. We had the patatas bravas, which were good, and the croquetas de bacalao. The croquetas were a little runny for my taste. I usually prefer them a bit meatier, but they were still enjoyable. We also shared a cheese plate, which was a nice portion for a snack with wine. The wines we tried were very good. Overall, this feels like a great spot to stop for a couple glasses of wine and some snacks between plans. I could also see coming back and building a full meal by ordering a few different plates. I would definitely return.

We got the papas bravas and cheese plate off the happy hour menu plus the croquets de bacalao off the regular menu. Generally it's a small menu of tapas plus wines and cocktails but it's well curated. We enjoyed both the red and white featured wines both seemed very high quality and was fun to try something new. The food was delicious and happy hour prices were very reasonable. Service was prompt and our server was very knowledgeable about all the wines. You for sure need a reservation here unless you come at 4pm as it's quite an intimate space, I believe about 6 tables. They have a tasting menu for 2 or 4 that comes with several small plates and an optional drink pairing (2 wines and 2 cocktails). For two the food was only $60. Would love to come back and try that tasting menu as it sounds fun. The small plates they offer could definitely be made into a full meal if one was hungry enough.

I've tried the churrasco nica, pollo frito, and chancho asado, and every single dish has been beyond spectacular. I'm from Los Angeles, and people told me I'd have a hard time finding great food out here, but Fritanga proves them wrong. It's exactly what you want from a small, family-owned restaurant: excellent service, flavorful food, affordable prices (steak dinner + sides for under 20$ is a steal), a fun atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff. I even planned a 17-person celebration dinner here (with some of those people from LA) and got to work directly with Orlando, the owner. He was responsive, welcoming, and went out of his way to make the night special, even celebrating with us. Everyone loved it. I'll be leaving St. Louis soon for my career, which makes this a bittersweet review to write. But I hope it encourages more people to check this place out, Fritanga is something special.
