The restaurant is beautiful, dark and moody. The food is excellent and the service is top tier.

Another brilliant Ben Poremba masterpiece! Bar Moro is a Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant in Clayton, Missouri. This unique menu focuses on Iberian cuisine, tapas, and Spanish wines. It offers a menu with artisanal Spanish products, cocktails, and dishes like pintxos moros, bacala, and carne asada, with a notable sherry and vermouth selection. The ambiance is designed to feel like a bustling Spanish bar, with dim lighting and rustic decor. The whole experience was indulgent and distinguished. The service team worked together to coordinate each course arrival in a casual pace. Fresh silverware and a clean table felt like a fresh palette as each elaborate dish filed the table. The new manager Elise is personable and professional. She greeted us personally at the door and made sure we not only enjoyed our meal but explored new flavors for our Bar Moro experience. The whole experience was a food focused adventure. Finished the meal with a cheesecake that is indescribably perfect! I recommend a reservation. We went with a reservation on a Thursday night and it was packed. I feel the intimate setting enhanced the atmosphere. Definitely a new favorite! Go early for the off the menu chef specials.

Yelp strikes again by being right! I trusted the Yelpers on this and they were not wrong. We ordered so many goodies and everything was freaking delicious. Heads up, they automatically add gratuity to your ticket, so just something to know before going if you aren't from Missouri. This did not deter us from wanting to try their other eateries. We will definitely be back!

    PAELLA SUNDAY

I'd like to make this a 3.5 because Bar Moro has excellent service and a nice ambiance but the food just did not deliver. The biggest disappointment was the Sunday paella. One would hope that if you are a Spanish restaurant serving paella one day of the week it would be a proper serving but it was a bowl of marinated rice with 1 shrimp, 1 mussel and 1 clam...the anchovies were very salty (I know they're supposed to be) and the pequillo peppers were meh. The bread was fantastic, great wine selection and again very friendly service but just a B- for the food which is all I really care about.

This place is such a vibe! The lighting provides a moody atmosphere which pairs well with such sophisticated tapas. This is a great spot for a small group, though I wouldn't recommend taking too many people if everyone wants to be able to try a little bit of everything. The zucchini and the carrots were the stars of the show, but we loved all the dishes we tried. The server was helpful in crafting our order and pointing us in the right direction. Definitely recommend checking out this chic spot for your next girl dinner / team outing / date night!

I finally made it to Bar Moro for a weekend date night. The environment is dark and intimate with warm hospitality from the staff. Everything is small plates meant to share so we ordered a variety of bites. My favorite was a spread and I don't recall what this one was called because I go to so many Ben Poremba restaurants and I eat some kind of spread at all of them because they're incredible! I will definitely be back for some more seasonal items as the menu changes so I can experience it all over again.

Sometimes the best dining experiences happen on a whim, and that was exactly the case with my visit to Bar Moro this past Friday night. With a rare opening in my schedule and a craving for something new, I made a same-day reservation. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were seated immediately, offered water, and given a helpful overview of the menu by the server behind the bar. The menu is divided into small and large plates, with a focus on sharing. Following the server's recommendation, we ordered four small plates (carrots, anchovies, meatballs, peppers) and one large plate (roasted rabbit), pacing ourselves throughout the meal. We came in quite hungry, and this was more than enough food for two. Every dish built on the previous, which made for a great tasting experience. Just when we thought we were done, we made room for the soufflé de queso, which was the perfect ending. A complimentary taste of dessert wine paired with it was a thoughtful touch that elevated the experience. Overall, I was thoroughly happy with the food, service, and ambiance at Bar Moro.

I finally checked out Bar Moro after hearing everyone talk about it, and it absolutely lives up to the buzz. The space feels effortlessly stylish -- low lighting, lively crowd, and that kind of energy where every table looks like they're in on something exciting. I kept it seafood-focused and started with the oysters. They were impeccably fresh, briny, and beautifully presented on ice with the right accompaniments. You could taste the ocean in the best way possible. The tinned fish selection was a fun surprise -- elevated and thoughtfully plated rather than just opening a can and calling it a day. Paired with crusty bread and bright garnishes, it felt intentional and indulgent.

The Dark and moody atmosphere was perfect here. The art, lighting and smaller details made for an elevated night out. We had a pitcher of the sangria and it was a great amount for three people. For small plates we ordered the bacon wrapped dates, salt cod croquettes, toasted carrot salad and some mussels in white wine from there tinned fish selections. I would recommend all four of those dishes over and over again. Flavors were complex and well layered through out every dish. Everything was fresh and perfect for sharing. This is a smaller restaurant but definitely worth checking out!

A wonderful surprise on our trip to Saint Louis. This restaurant was a delight in all ways--food, service and ambiance. Great Spanish influences with a little twists, a solid bar to back the meal with both cocktails, great vermouth and European wines that pair perfectly. My only frustration--an inability to eat more of the options they had.

I had such an incredible dining experience here. When you look at the menu, you might not think "this is a must try", but it really is! The ambiance is fun, moody, and sexy. The service was amazing and I had the best halibut of my life! I will definitely be back! Everything was delicious from the pan con tomato, the canned fish, the shisito peppers, but the halibut won the show. I cant wait to come back!

Okay, first of all the vibes are insane. Everywhere has the dimly lit thing going on nowadays which I love, but Bar Moro is truly distinguished with what they've accomplished. It is rustic, teetering on gothic. Amazing vibes for a nice little date night. Insanely unique with furs draped over chairs, garnishes out; and a semi open kitchen concept. The service was solid. We just popped in for 1 drink so we did not get the full experience, but some of their bites looked unreal. Our drinks were solid. I rolled with a house martini and my friend got a spanish sour. They were overall good; but not my favorite. The martini is a dirty martini riff which isnt exactly my speed but conceptually well executed by the bar team. Same with the spanish sour; it had great flavor, just a little unbalanced for me. Once more, still solid drinks just not in the elite category. Would love to back for some more drinks just to enjoy the vibes. Such a dope spot. I wish the weather was warmed for our visit because the patio seating setup is beautiful!

The fish was a bit overcooked but still tasty. My friend got a burger which was good. We both ordered espresso martinis which were delicious (I'm picky). A lovely evening. We had 6pm reservations and were seated on time but people without reservations faced a 2 hour wait. Make reservations! Upon entering, there is a hostess stand and small bar with seating extending to the back of the building. We had the first table so I can't comment on the full size. My son ordered a Bloody Mary and I had a Pinot Noir while we looked at menu. Bloody Mary was very good and the wine was pleasant. We started with Garlic Bread with Cheese. It was the only menu item I would not order again. Flavors did not come together. I ate my fair share so it was good. Just not great. We then shared a cheese pizza with provel. Elite crust and sauce! The crust had an amazing char and the sauce was deliciously nuanced. The cheese was very good, but most definitely not the star of the pie. Pasta Pomodoro was wonderful. House made pasta was excellent and the sauce was a perfect accompaniment. (Anthonino's really does sauces well!) I finished with tiramisu and I am so glad I did! Did I need it? No. Did I want it? Heck yeah! I think I will be wanting it every day for a long time to come! All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, while remaining efficient. Nice group of people. Score for being healthy and fitting my macros without having to substitute. My boyfriend got the hot wings and a gyro salad, while his friend got the chicken kebabs and a salad. Their food came first while mine came later. I sampled a piece of the gyro meat and it was quite tasty but had a taco flavor, which I found odd considering we were at a Greek restaurant! My dish was good. It wasn't that blackened but it was still seasoned well and had great flavor. The vegetables were a bit basic and could have used more seasoning. Aside from that, the dish was a hit and our service was great. I'll for sure be back.
