I just came here for the second time with a party of three. Two of us had rather disappointing meals, while the third seemed good. This place seems to have very nice burgers and the fries are great (I had a burger last time). Today we had an appetizer, "Tomato salad with burrata", which was very good but was disappointing because it was $11 and had only 1 ball of burrata with a plate full of tomatoes. The other two entrees were salads, about $20 each: a steak salad and a salmon salad. The piece of salmon that came with my salad was small and poorly cooked, lacking any real flavor aside from the natural salmon taste. The steak that came with my neighbor's salad was grey - It looked very wrong, like it had been frozen or reheated and did not taste especially good. Given that these were $20 salads, we expected much better. Our bill came to $73 (before tip) for three people and only one of us was satisfied with our meal. read more

DON'T EAT HERE!! Burger, salad, and tacos were a joke. Payed over 60 dollars for a burger, salad and 4 fish tacos. And they all tasted bad. I am someone that is super easy to please, but this place, shouldn't even get as busy as it does. I think the alcohol they serve is what keeps them alive. As for the people that mention that they keep returning, I cannot imagine what they consider food at home. To Bardot, I suggest you change your chef. The atmosphere and service is good though. Lovely outdoor patio on a corner in downtown Claremont. Excellent atmosphere. The food, however, is uneven. At a recent lunch, the warm Asian chicken salad was awful. The bits of chicken were dry, chewy and tasted days old. The warm dressing was much too sweet. Very disappointing. The tuna tartar appetizer of another guest looked much more appetizing. I've also had the crab cake on a bun and thought it so-so. I make a better one at home. read more

We had my Dad's birthday dinner here and the food was great, I think everyone had something different and we were all pleased with what we ordered. I was excited for this place to open in place of Harvard Square which was outdated and just very mediocre as far as food goes. The decor and ambience is really great but the food is basically just like Harvard Square....unimpressive! And then after reading other reviews, I guess it's the same owner as Harvard Square so I guess that solves that mystery. The place is good if you mainly want to sit outside on a nice day or warm night but you probably won't come here for the food....it's just ehhh. :-( read more

A valiant attempt to have upscale dining in this small college town, and it sure needs more choices. However, while menu is interesting, food is quite bland. Also, scotch selections are very limited! Service is good but the area near the banquettes has always been too cold. Keep trying! read more

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. I loved the asparagus soup with the nest and trout caviar, however they have removed it from the menu. The seafood couscous and the Japanese scallops are outstanding, The service can be a little slow from time to time, however it is still very good. I truly enjoy going here. read more

We love Bardot. We live in town and it is our go-to spot for an easy dinner out. Cocktails are always yummy and even though we almost always order the same thing (Burger for the hubby and Bardot Salad for me), the menu is interesting and varied enough to keep us (and more importantly) our guests happy. I live in Claremont and have eaten here twice now. Once for lunch and once for dinner over the last two weeks. I had avoided eating here when the restaurant first opened as it had not gotten as good of reviews as I would have liked to see. For lunch I had a Ceasar salad with chicken. I thought the Ceasar salad was very good, but also pricey. In hindsight I should have gotten something other than a salad for these prices. Dinner on the other hand I would give 5 stars for in quality and price. We had the tuna appetizer and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this. The guacamole is excellent and really compliments the tuna and mango. For dinner, I had the pork chop with waffle potatoes and haricort vertes (green beans). The pork chop was very flavorful and perfectly prepared. The potatoe waffles was really good and the beans were perfectly cooked with still some crisp to them. My wife had the scallops and pasta, which she loved, and my son had the seafood medley, which he also really liked. The wine choices were very good by the glass. Our son got a pineapple Mule and it was perfect. I think the desert menu is not as imaginative as the dinner menu so my only recommendation would be to really work on some more imaginative desserts. We ate outside on the patio and it was great. The heaters are stationary and cannot be moved so not every table has the heater available. We purposely chose a table with a heater and was glad we did as it really cooled off later on. The wait staff was excellent and provide very good insights into the menu. I am really glad this restaurant has improved since opening, and I recommend giving it a try. The appetizer menu is pretty extensive - which is great because you can come here and just do the small plate and drinks thing. The burgers look like they would be great with some pretty imaginative options that easily compete with other restaurants in town that are really known for their burgers. I will come back and order a burger for lunch the next time. Overall, I recommend Bardot and would rank it up there with the best that Claremont offers. read more

He didn't be casual about it, blatantly asked the bartender "do you know this guy?", just cause I look different then your normal customer doesn't mean I'm stealing a card for 2 beers. Love this restaurant. Having frequented Bardot quite often, I figured a review is long overdue. First off, the bar here is fantastic from the bartenders themselves (Dave makes a fantastic variation of a French 75!) to the selection of unique drinks. If you're not dining on their beautiful patio or inside, a meal at the bar is a lovely way to spend an evening there. The atmosphere is incomparable to anything else in the area. Their servers are so incredibly friendly and attentive. I've always had first class service here. As far as the food, they have a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options, but if you are a carnivore I highly recommend any of their steaks, especially the filet mignon. It comes with a trio of dipping sauces that you'll find yourself dipping anything you can get your hands on into. I also recently had a pasta seafood special that was recommended (thank you Phil!) which was absolutely delicious. I've yet to have a meal here that I haven't wanted to order again. They also have a great selection of appetizers. Among my favorites are the goat cheese lollipops (making my mouth water as I type), macaroni and cheese, parmesan and truffle fries and the tuna tartare. And as a non-Brussel sprout person for most all my life, their skillet Brussel sprouts converted me to the point where I will now order them as a side dish with just about any meal I order. They also recently started a 'Whiskey Wednesday" with slider offerings of some of their burgers/sandwiches at $3 each and a happy hour selection of several whiskey drinks. So far I've had the burger and the crab cake sliders which were both delicious. You will not be disappointed whether you're going for a nice romantic meal on their patio or inside or a casual meal at the bar. I can't say enough good things about this place. Wanted to try this place for a while. Went there on weeknight after work. Outside seating area was real nice. Ordered Gimlet Thyme cocktail but it had no thyme flavor. Tomato soup was really good but could have used little less cream in it. The scallops dish was really nice and light. For dessert, I tried the berries tiramisu which was awesome. Came out 10:05 to discover a late night menu starts at 10 with no vegetarian options. We came for the potatoes and Brussels sprouts but they were not on the late night menu. After talking to the manager he offered us guac and chips. How hard is it to make potatoes and Brussels sprouts? I'm no chef and could make that at home read more
