Very nice experience at this salon. Took my cousin here as she is visiting from Switzerland and loved that they claimed to be a Vegan Salon. Yes it is pricy, but the facilities are clean and they are very professional. Things that make me want to come back: 1. The size of the location. It was super big with the downstairs so never felt crowded. 2. They have a ton of colors to choose from! 3. The pedicure variety of scents you can use. 4.. The guy that does massages. He was so fantastic I paid for an extra massage while I got my manicure! 5. They are honest when it comes to wait times. We had appointments and they took us right away, but they didn't tell the walk ins it would be 10 minutes when the wait was really like 35-40. Totally respect that. 6. Everyone was super nice. Things that make me not want to come back: 1. The price, I found them to be expensive. 2. I wanted to add the value remover to the pedicure but I would have had to pay and extra $30 to get upgraded to the super deluxe pedicure. You should be able to just add it for another $5-$10. 3. I was never asked what type of scent I wanted for my pedicure, but thankfully she chose the one I would have wanted if she did ask! 4. The result of my manicure was just ok. Nothing special and a little sloppy around my cuticles. Hands down worst gel mani ever. I should have left when my nail technician started complaining to her coworker about having to do a gel mani in Korean... not knowing that I was Korean. The tech was very not gentle at all and while she was painting my nails, she complained about how tedious it was to do gel manis. She didn't even ask if I wanted a 3rd coat. My color is very sheer. The salon itself is very nice and feels premium enough to justify the high prices. I came in because it was the only salon around open late and accepted the hefty $50 for a gel manicure. I saw a sign for powder gel and asked how much that was and was told $65 (I also saw that number on the price list). I decided to go for that since I've been curious. My manicurist then told she could make my nails longer which I assumed was included as part of the powder gels. When I went to pay it was $115.... I feel a little tricked since I did ask about the cost. The manicure itself looks okay, but she didn't really clean my nails or cuticles, some of the color is missing, and the shapes are a little uneven. One of my nails even popped off just a week later. Definitely not worth $115 plus tip. UPDATE: it's been 2 weeks now and 2 more nails fell off completely. I really would no recommend for how much it costs. read more

I went to get a pedicure as a birthday gift and it was not a good experience. My nail technician seemed completely disinterested and frustrated the whole time. Usually, I wouldn't mind since I like to get lost in the massage chair (they have really good ones) but she ended up cutting my toenail so poorly on the side that it has become an extremely painful ingrown toenail. The edge was cut so far down that it will take many painful months to grow out. Just a day after the toe massacre the nail had already begun to dig so deep into my skin that it began to puss making it painful to walk. On top of this, the nail polish on the same toe majorly chipped the next day as well. The only good experience I had here was with the male masseuse. He gives excellent foot and chair massages so would come here for him alone. read more

I was a little excited when i walked in and saw all the polish colors and my fav brands. But I was a little taken back at the prices. I decided to stay anyway because I was anticipating the luxury. At first my nail tech, Penny was a bit unfriendly and I was like oh I'm in the wrong place. I'm thinking at these prices I need treatment! This salon is the epitome of unprofessional, first I was gifted a gift card for having major surgery and I walked to the salon to see if it took the gift card that was given. On their front door there is a picture that says it takes my exact gift card. I then went to the website of the gift card to search their partnership and it said that this salon took this card. I then proceeded to go online and book my appointment through the website that said it took my $100.00 gift card. I mentioned in the notes section that I was paying with this gift card to cover my bases for the 3rd time. Upon arriving early I was told that the person that I had an appointment with was busy and already had booked someone else. In desperate need for a pedicure I said give me whomever was available. The girl who was available was very nice and did her best to treat me even though she was timid of me as what I have to assume is me being a block woman. After my pedicure that she did with no real attention to me as a client. I go to pay with my gift card and immediately the manager or front desk worker said "we don't take that" I immediately point her to her own front door that has an official sticker for my gift card above their visa/MasterCard logo. I then show her the website and the reservation in which the card is mentioned. She fakes as if she's trying to find a way to use my card and does not try at all. She then says "it's my fault but you didn't show me how you were paying before our services" since i live in the area i didn't think to grab my wallet so I'm looking like a completely late out of place criminal as if I orchestrated this entire scam. She then says where the card is accepted in the area and how i should try there. She then says I'll take $10 for the inconvenience. I am livid as i thought I did everything right to make sure that i could treat myself after this surgery and ended up being a good citizen and actually calling in my card information from home having to pay $78 for an upsale if a pedicure that i had no intentions of paying for as i am still paying medical bills. For a shop that has the we accept this card sticker on their door and for them not honoring my Original appointment one would think that this would have been comped. I have never been so insulted in my life. This salon is pretentious and the front desk staff was rude and not remotely interested in trying to find a fair resolve. read more

I got the jasmine feet scrub and the scent was heavenly and relaxing!! If you have the time, this place is a definitely a special treat. Do not forget to utilize the massage chair! My entire experience here was amazing. Tara gave me a jasmine pedicure and a gel manicure. She took her time and paid so much attention to every detail, really taking care of every little thing and making me feel so relaxed. The atmosphere of the whole space is wonderfully relaxing and calming - white tones, soft music, and all the staff spoke in calm, quiet voices - which I so appreciated. The results are amazing too, both the pedicure and manicure. I chose not to get a 10-minute massage during the manicure, but the brief massage I was given was amazing. It's seems to me the 5 star reviews for this nail salon are done by the salon owners. I'm very disappointed in my manicure especially for the price. The salon itself is quite nice and clean. The staff isn't exactly unfriendly but they certainly aren't nice or welcoming. The main reason I'm giving 2 stars is that my technician destroyed my nails during the gel soak off. She filed them down so much they hurt, in addition they are now lumpy and uneven which makes my polish look terrible. I won't be returning to this nail salon. read more

This nail salon seems to have upgraded recently. The interior is clean and they have a good selection of nail polish. I've had mixed results, depending on which nail technician I get. Some are better than others. However, I went there today and picked out a Zola polish and was told that it was $7 or $8 extra. That seems crazy to me when you can buy a bottle of Zola for $10. They tried to rationalize it by saying there's "no chemicals." Their prices are already a little on the high side, so this really seems excessive. Though it's convenient to my office, I probably won't be back. read more

I went to Bare Luxury after never having been there before. I'm new to the city and don't have a regular place just yet. The service was adequate until we started using the UV light for the gel manicure. Both another client, whom I don't know, and myself experienced an aggressive amount of small flys, gnats or mosquitos (not exactly sure) at this point. It was so disruptive and frankly, gross, that I wish I had gone to a different place. I've been getting gel since it came out and this has never happened. There was no apology and I paid full price even though it was appalling. For a place that prides itself on sanitation (it's written on the wall in the salon) it was the most disgusting experience I have had at a nail salon. read more

No I'm not complaining about the price, or how I was treated which I believe Dona was very rude didn't ask me what I wanted or what she was doing I had to stop her and ask her what she was applying to my nails. I went in for a fill and afterwards my nails looked horrible, uneven, lumpy, and polish all over my cuticles, two nails even came out lopsided. But I still paid for the service, didn't make a scene. Fast forward two days later, and one overlay fails off completely, 3rd day the gel starts lifting. This place is over priced and lacks quality and I wrote this review because I went on yelp prior to going and it seems as though this place was amazing. the name says it ALL! my husband booked mani and pedis for me and my girlfriends as my bday gift and the moment we arrived we were WOWed! place is sparkling clean and selection for polish colors were huge! from regular polishes to polishes which lasts longer AND chemical free polishes which was a bonus because one of my GFs is preggo and ready to pop! after selecting our colors, we proceeded to head downstairs to a private room for private parties which looked luxurious! we started off with the deluxe pedi and was introduced to a 4 in 1 product by Voesh. we came here to get pampered so why not add in some extras. I'm glad we did because it felt great on my legs and it definitely complimented the pedi. afterwards we paired off with a regular mani and was offered moisturizing gloves by Avry which made my hands silky smooth! my mani & pedicurist, Jane, did an awesome job resulting in me walking out the door with all smiles! this place is truly BareLuxury and thank you for the wonderful experience VIP style. happy to say they've gained new customers after our visit! read more
