Mandarins, raspberries, blueberries, candied nuts, injeolmi (rice cake), red beans, ice cream and a wafer on top for decoration. There has never been a day I haven't loved you.... I didn't know this song going in, but I became intimately familiar with it and other Korean love songs as the meal went on. Perhaps subtly entranced by the music, I fell in love with my BBQ chicken hot stone pot. It arrived sizzling, and the rice became crispy and caramelized as I worked my way through. Threading through the gochujang paste was a good call. It gave the dish a good balance of sweetness and spice. I wasn't quite ready for some of the outliers on the menu -- truffle fries and corn cheese. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile after seeing reviews and videos about it. The restaurant is located not on the main block of KTown but a few blocks North. My friend made reservations on Resy for an early Sunday dinner for a big group of 9 people. When we came at 4:30 PM the place was empty, but when we left the place was super packed! First and foremost, the service here was phenomenal! For my friend's birthday, she got to spin a wheel and she got everyone free soju shots! The restaurant actually gave 2 sealed bottles - one peach flavor and another green apple flavor which means it was enough for everyone to get 2 shots. They also have happy hour from 4-6 pm everyday which included some appetizers and cocktails. The whole table shared the soy garlic wings, hot and spicy wings, crispy tofu, corn cheese, and the truffle fries. The soy garlic wings were standard and good. The crispy tofu was aged tofu on the harder side with a crispy batter shell dipped picy gochujang sauce. The corn cheese had a very good taste to it, but not even cheese. The truffle fries were standard with a lemon squeeze and two sauces - spicy mayo and ketchup. Then, everyone got their individual entrees. Some got the hot stone bowl, some got the bibimbap, one person got the Bugolgi, one person got the Korean Army Stew, and I shared two things with my cousin - the garlic shrimp tacos and the Galbi JJim. The hot stone bowl and bibimbap are standard entree sizes and my friends had no complaints about them. The Korean Army Stew and the Galbi JJim are served over a fire to keep them warm and were humongous. The Galbi JJim was not what I expected and did not look like the photos. In the photos, it looked dry and flavorful/savory like a dish you would eat with rice, but it is actually like a big pot of soup with lots of big chunks of beef stew, some rice cakes, some carrots, 1 piece of corn, and very little glass noodles. The worst factor for me is that it is sweet. I cannot do sweet entrees. The Korean Army Stew was spicy and came with noodles and lots of hot dogs and bunch of other meats. My friend finished the noodles and packed the meats and soup home. My other friend enjoyed the Bugolgi. As for the garlic shrimp tacos, it comes with 3 and is pretty good but not charred or smokey enough for me. 4 of us got the berry Lychee cocktail from the happy hour menu and it was pretty good. We did not order any desserts because she brought in a Paris Baguette cake to cut after dinner. The waiters lit up the cake for us as everyone sang Happy Birthday!
