My wife got tires from these folks and that went well enough. unfortunately, there was something wrong which made one of her tires go flat after a few days (turned out to be a loose valve). I told her to take it in and they would probably just fix it there on the spot seeing as how it's unsafe - for starters. Well, they fixed it, but it took 2 hours to 'fit her in'. 2 hours of lost work. Now she'll have to work on the weekend rather than relax. Bad feelings that will last a long time. They didn't think about that obviously. Apologies are fine but doesn't do it. Do better. I don't normally write negative reviews but I thought that this might help others and hopefully this tire company in the future to do better for their customers. Think about how this will ripple through to future business next time. read more

Had a couple places jerk me around about needing a new tire because I had a very slow leak in one of my tires. Thought I'd try Barnsley after reading some good things and they immediately found a screw in the tire and said the job was on the house if I came back whenever I needed tires. I certainly will. My car has non-standard tire sizes (front and back), and very expensive racing tires are the standard. Well, since I've been out of work for a few years, I couldn't afford them. I had been told by my mechanic that my rear tires were worn down and to have them replaced ASAP. I went by Barnsley. All I said to the guy was that I was told that my tires were wearing down. After he took a look at them, he said only the rear ones needed to be replaced (honesty bell rings once). He gave me the price for the same expensive ones, and I asked about other brands for less $$$, and he laid those out, too. I asked if there was a real difference other than the names and the prices, and he said no, and that if he were in my place that he'd put the less expensive ones on anyway (honesty bell rings twice - ding ding ding - we have a winner!). Tires went on, I have put 1500 miles on them with no problems, and saved $500-$1500 on the tires, had another "slick" salesman taken advantage of the situation and told me to replace them all and that only the expensive ones would be right. Right on, Barnsley! I just LOVE when I find honest people doing business.............. My only gripe - the salesman did not say "thank you" when I paid my bill. I was disconsolate when The Tire Source closed up for good. So...I turned to Yelp for help! After reading the reviews I decided Barnsley was "close enough." My gut was not wrong. I called ordered tires (with a bit of gentle feedback). I had to wait 2+ weeks for an appointment, but that's a good sign (right?). Came in, they had me in the book, got me in and out on time, charged me $8 less than quoted, and while I was there I heard several customers rave to others about how they haven't bought tires anywhere else in decades. Plus they helped out a woman who'd made an appointment but didn't order snow tires. They found a tire for her that they could get the same day, and squeezed (squoze?) her in later that day. Yup - I'll be coming back here for decades to come... P.S. I'll also put a good word in for Espressoria - just down the street (comfortable walking distance). They really go above and beyond to be honest and helpful; if you're going a trip and need your tires rotated, they will squeeze you in, even though they do not charge for tire rotation! I was traveling from the Aspen valley to Boulder to visit my sister when I hit a huge 4x4 piece of wood that was in the middle of I-70. I got the spare tire put on and the next morning went to Big O tires (I use them in Basalt) and assumed they'd help me out. The manager was nice but wouldn't sell me one tire, and said he could only sell me a whole set. It's October and I have to buy new snow tires in like a month, so that was not going to happen. He referred me to Barnsley Tires, and they are AMAZING! They helped me immediately, were extremely professional, and were able to put on (free of charge!) a used tire. I took in a 26' motor home for a tire rotation at 10k miles. These guys are so great they talked me out of it! They suggested to keep an eye on the fronts and, if they start to cup, bring in for a swap. The rears are duals and rarely need rotation. They checked the inflation for me and gave me some other tire tips. Didn't make a dime, but treated me good! That's the true test of a professional. read more

What a relief to find an excellent local mechanic! I desperately needed some brake work and on my initial call to Barnsley they scheduled me for two days later. However, after talking to them on the phone regarding the sounds my brakes were making, the gentleman responded that he was concerned about safety and encouraged me to bring it in to take a look. Despite their full waiting area, they got the parts ordered, delivered, and done in two hours for $204.00. Meineke had quoted nearly 700.00 for the same problem. I was super bummed to find a nail in my volvo xc90 tire which caused it to go flat. After reading the great reviews about this place i brought my car in to see what seemed to be an extremely busy place. The parking lot was jam packed and so was the waiting room. However, the service was excellent, they helped me park my car. Fixed my tire for free. And got it all done in a few hours. Ill definately be back when i need new tires in the fall. read more

These guys answered the phone in a very reasonable time and squeezed me in at the last minute before they closed. They balanced my tires after I had a tired repaired on my trip in from NOLA. They put me on the road back home very quickly. When I got my first set of winter tires, Sam Barnsley told me to come back to get the lugs tightened after 100 miles. Recently had winter tires mounted to a secondhand set of steel wheels. They balanced the wheels/tires as well, even though one wheel was bent by the previous owner. Pricing is a bit on the high side but the staff is friendly and organized. They were also willing to hold onto my wheels and tires while I was busy for the rest of the day read more

I visited Barnsley after calling ahead to see if they had time to fix a flat, they said anytime. I stopped in, was told to come back in 30-40 minutes to pick it up. Came back in about 35 minutes, my car was still sitting there. I had to go back to work so I got my keys and left. Not sure what to make of this, but it did not meet my expectation. I really want to like these guys but I've had a couple of bad experiences. I moved to CO about two years ago and looked up reviews, and decided with Barnsley. Bought snow tires and was told it'll be $45 to swap in/out each season. My first swap I was told the price increased to $55 - not what I expected. A couple weeks later I checked my tire pressure and it was WAY high, over 10lbs. what Toyota recommends. I let air out of my tires. Next time I got my tires swapped I asked them to assess the life left in my changeovers. No assessment. I asked 'what happened to the assessment'? Oh, let's do it right now. So I went out with someone and she said 'you need 4 new tires since this is an all-wheel-drive'. No, it was a front wheel drive. I felt like she was trying to up-sell me, especially when I think the front tires had at least one more season in them. Finally, she said she'd get back to me on a price for new tires, and she'd call. 3 days later, she hasn't called. I thought I'd check my air pressure right then and there at after the swap and indeed they ranged from 4 to 9 lbs. overinflated. I spoke with a manager and he said they overinflate intentionally so the tire pressure monitoring system (which my car does not have) doesn't trip with fluctuations in temperature. The manager told me to simply request next time to specify my requested pressure. Really? I expect a bit more customer service for $55 x 2 times a year. read more

Went in to a busy place with no appointment and within an hour I was on my way after they rotated and balanced my tires. While there I was treated extremely well and had a nice conversation with the owner(? i assumed) and we talked about a variety of topics. Every interaction I observed was friendly, professional and seemed genuine. Like the other reviewers I was so happy to find a small business that actually seems to care about customers and everyone who came in was treated like a friend. I prematurely wore out a tire by leaving dirty ice in the wheel well. Went to another tire store in a bit of a rush, where they told me they'd replace the two tires in 45 minutes. After 40 minutes, they came out and told me I needed to replace all four tires and that it would take another half hour. FAIL! Went to BARNSLEY--they just gave me a used tire as a loaner (15 minutes elapsed time), then quoted me a lower price for better tires than Brand X. I'll be back there to buy my tires! read more

A couple days ago I called to make an appointment at barnsley tire. This appointment was for an alignment. When I was on the phone talking to an employee I explained that my car had negative camber on the wheels, which I run for my summer set. The time had come to put my winter tires on, so I had to remove the camber. I explained to the employee that I had camber plates and that they would need to set the camber back to normal before aligning the car. So my appointment comes around on Wednesday, at 3 PM. I show up early, drop the car off, explain the camber thing again to the guy at the desk, to which he responds "great, we'll give you a call when its ready." 5:25 PM rolls around, 5 minutes before closing time for barnsley. I expected to have a call by this time, but never received one. So I call them to check on the status of my car. They proceed to put me on hold for 7 minutes (I only know this because phones keep track of how long conversations last) which is a lot longer than it seems when you are sitting there waiting for someone to simple pick up the phone and tell me where my car is. Like I said, 7 minutes later they finally pick up the phone and tell me "Hey, you can come pick up your car now. We weren't able to do anything to it, but we put it on the rack to check that the toe and everything was set right." Confused, I asked what he meant by 'weren't able to do anything to it' to which he responded "You have really low camber on your car, to adjust that you need adjustable control arms" Surprised at what he said, I proceeded to tell him I had CAMBER PLATES to adjust the camber, which for anyone who knows anything about cars knows that that is the most straightforward, safe, and quite frankly easiest way to adjust camber. The man told me his tech 'didn't think he could get the camber any lower with how it was set up.' This is moronic in various ways, I won't even go into it. Basically Barnsley took my car after I explained to them what needed to be adjusted, they gave me the OK twice, once on the phone and once in person, then proceeded to do absolutely NOTHING to the car, seemingly out of incompetence. They held the car for nearly three hours without calling me to tell me they were unable to align my car. I had to reach out to them to find out what was going on. I then arrived to pick my car up and the man at the front desk repetitively explained how his tech couldn't work on my car. I explained to him that I had camber plates, and part that is designed to easily adjust camber. He had no clue what I was saying, and kept telling me about adjustable control arms. This shop wasted my time, displayed lack of expertise in their field, and a lack of respect to their customer. If you're going to barnsley tire at all, better make it for something extremely simple, such as changing your tires or getting your wheels balanced. It seems this place caters to clueless customers who hand their keys over and have no knowledge of cars besides that they move when you press the gas pedal. Not sure why they have such a stellar rep of reviews, but it seems as if the majority are fabricated to create a false sense of professionalism. Do not go here unless you are simply changing your tires, a task anybody could do if it weren't for a special machine needed. Clueless soccer moms and easy targets to take advantage of seems to be this shops target market. read more

I went in to get a flat fixed and they weren't able to patch it but they gave me a used tire in good condition and put it on my car all without charging me.
