As I stepped into this magnificent shack and I noticed the stack of cooked bacon piled up on the grill, I smelled that good aroma of coffee and also heard that sizzling sausage! This is the place where you go if you travel throughout the year and still want a sense of home cooking! Located in the country side and makes you appreciate what America is all about! Barnwood Grill is amazinggg!! We just moved here and saw the great reviews, so we had to see for ourself. I got the T. Anderson chicken finger wrap and my husband got one of their weekly lunch specials which was a Waffle burger with egg, bacon and cheese. Both were absolutely incredible! They make their ranch and honey mustard homemade and we could literally drink it through a straw lol. The staff was so kind and helpful with menu recommendations, plus the food is super affordable and the atmosphere makes you feel at home! They also have a cute market with locally grown produce and items like soaps and jewelry. We can't wait to go back and try the breakfast, but this is definitely our new go- to spot! read more

We had lunch there on a Saturday. Nice menu with lots of offerings...burger plates were very good with lots of sides to choose from...burgers prepared as ordered. We just wish the burgers were hand formed...already pre-pressed. Service was very good...pleasant, quick, accurate. We will be back. read more

After all the rave reviews all 4 of us left in agreement, would like to see what breakfast is like, hopefully better. The food isn't bad, but it surely wasn't wow! It was just average. The burgers are huge and desperately needing some salt or seasoning on the meat. I'm actually very salt sensitive and rarely salt anything but even the blue cheese (salty) and bacon (salty) weren't enough for this monstrous burger patty. read more

WOW. Our family is always looking for locally owned breakfast gems - this is the best breakfast we've had since we moved to the Upstate 2 years ago. The grits make you want to just climb into the bowl. The staff was absolutely wonderful - good people who actually care. We stopped by the store on our way out and loved it as well. This place was delicious! I went for lunch and got a cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly. It's right next store to a local produce stand/market so you know everything is fresh. In fact, there were 6 dozen, farm-fresh, brown eggs stacks outside on the picnic table! Must not have had time to bring them to the kitchen yet. Not a ton of seating so get there early or eat outside/to-go. The decor is perfect for the south, and the sweet tea was delicious. I hope I'm in the area again so I can go back!! read more

This was awesome! You can actually eat in one of four spots when you arrive: the little food and gift store on the far left with a few spots, (and you can shop while your food cooks), the middle building where the phone rings and a lot of business seems to take place with the owner going back and forth, (three tables), the little "chicken coop" decorated building on the far right that has larger round tables, or, if the weather is nice, you can eat out front, under a canopy. Confusing at first, but the story behind the multi-spot dining was simple enough: they had one place, but the business grew so they added a second place, then a third, then a fourth! LOL! Makes perfect sense though, right? But what to order? Well, we went with a few reviewer's suggestions and decided to try a burger and the pastrami sandwich, get two orders of fries, and per suggestions, split a piece of coconut cake for dessert. OH HEAVENS! Best burger I have EVER eaten! I had cheddar and bacon, LTO, mustard and Mayo. Perfection! The pastrami? Also voted the best my husband has ever had. Then came the coconut cake. Moist and as flavorful as could be, topped with real whipped cream "icing". Fries were perfection as well! It really was all just heavenly! It was a two hour drive, but so worth it! The drive to Anderson, SC was lovely...not any traffic really, and very pretty scenery. We are bringing our best friends back soon. The four of us thought we had already found the best burger stand anywhere,...but oh my - this place is even better. Can't wait for them to try it too! Picked this place off of Yelp reviews. Normally I don't travel much thru Anderson but glad I picked this place. Staff was very friendly and the place was very homey. Loved the mismatched tables and chairs, made me feel like I could just relax and eat like I was sitting on my porch at home. Servings were huge. The homemade chips... Yummy! I did the Ruben sandwich and had no complaints wish my stomach was bigger to finish the portion. My kids got hamburgers and they said they were delicious. They do not come on a typically bun but my picky eater still enjoyed it. Loved it was attached to a produce stand and was able to check out what was in there while I waited on my food. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely will go back and eat there again! read more

Ok. I saw all the great reviews and wanted to try it. Not impressed. Had the special 2 for breakfast, the biscuit was good, but drowned in margarine. The crust on the tenderloin was soggy, the eggs and grits were ok. Seating- a few tables in a small room inside, most outside under a carport. Sat outside, had to move because there was dog crap on the ground next to the table. Out of the way, dirty, meh food skip it. read more

Stopped here for lunch out of the blue and was glad I did. Pros: The food was excellent. Portions are large. The service was great (people here were so nice and helpful). Easy parking. Cons: Place is tiny and it was crowded so there was no place to sit ( so I got mine to go). The food took about 20-25 minutes to come out after I ordered. Recommended but be aware of the seating/waiting situation during "peak" times. read more

Found this place on Yelp! and it didn't disappoint. A nice little country place with some banging food. We got the Philly cheesesteak with fries and is great! Fresh ground beef, fresh cut steaks on site, etc. They are VERY personable and explain everything to a T to make sure you get what you want. This place was great! I live in Pennsylvania but get to come home to SC about 3 times a year to see my parents. Usually my mom and I meet up with my grandma to catch up over breakfast. I wanted something different than the usual IHOP breakfast. I looked up breakfast in Anderson and Barnwood is the first to pop up. I'll be honest...the Trash Bowl is what sold me. I figured any place that serves menus items with names like trash bowl and chicken coop bowl can't really be boring. We loved it! Good food, good hospitality. There is outside seating! Didn't know this the first time. You won't be disappointed! read more
