It was our anniversary, and we normally stay in 5 star hotels for such occasions. This year is obviously different for travel, so I researched this cabin. We did not expect perfection as we would a 5 star hotel, we expected a nice cozy cabin with unique character and charm. This cabin has that in spades!! We arrived on a cold a wet late afternoon to the cabin. The staff left our cabin warm and cozy, and we were overjoyed in finding our cabin "Rhinefalls" to be as charming as the pictures had suggested. The cabin has so many charming items and hardware within. We did not want to leave once we arrived. Our first dinner was delivered, but later went to the local HEB and cooked our dinners using the supplied grill, hot plates and cookware. We are definitely coming back. read more

If you're going to the Texas Wine Country, this is the place to stay! The cottages are so comfortable and clean. They have everything in them you could possibly need! They have a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, hot plate, dishes, cork screw, wine glasses, and more. The grounds are beautiful and we loved the very friendly ducks. You can tell the owner put a ton of love into this place. It's super close to many wineries and Main Street, but when you're there you feel like you are out on a country ranch. The restaurant is great and was busy with live music on a Saturday night. The restaurant is situated away from the cottages, so you still get a quite get away even if the restaurant is full. We spent a wonderful anniversary weekend at Barons Creekside in the Victorian cabin. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The ambiance of Barons is peaceful, private and indulgent. The 'Club' at Barons is a two-minute walk from the cabin and is very convenient for sitting with a glass of wine and watching the sunset. The drive to Main Street takes no more than five minutes. Daniel, the host, is very gracious and attentive. We will definitely return for another visit. read more

The Interlaken cabin was quiet and peaceful. Very clean and very spacious with a charming front porch and CreekSide views. The interior was warm and inviting and filled with a variety of Swiss chalet decor. The mattress was soft with quality sheets and bedding. Bliss! We first came here the Fall of 2013 and have visited twice since then. We fell in love with our little cabin-the Grindelwald. It was perfect for our small but growing family. Our pups enjoyed it too! The grounds were perfect and it was incredibly quiet considering how close we were to Main Street. Our daughter has enjoyed the tree climbing and duck feedings. She looks forward to the s'mores and "real fires"! The stone fireplace is quaint and the rockers on the porch are perfect for reading and relaxing. We always wondered what our "family tradition" would be. All signs point to Baron's Creekside. Daniel and Deborah (owners) have made us feel like family. We adore them. We cannot wait to come back next year. Note: there's a bistro on the grounds. Valentine's Day 2019!! OMG!!! What can I say about this magical place! I wanted to surprise my wife for Valentine's Day and found this little gem nestled in the Hill Country. This place is owned by Daniel & Deborah Meyer. We stayed in the Swiss Log Cabin Zermatt and I wanted to spoil my wife with a dozen red roses, a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries. Keep in mind, these are "Log Cabins" not the usual hotel rooms with room service, that we are accustomed too, but Deborah went out of her way to make it happen for us! Deborah, you are absolutely amazing, thank you so much! From the moment we arrived on the property to moment we left, it was just magical! I don't know any other way to describe it. It was like living in a fairy tale. When the flock of Mallard Ducks crossed the road at the creek, in front of us and later surprised us at our cabin, was priceless!!! My wife and I couldn't stop smiling the entire day. From the sounds of the water cascading down the creek, to the crackling sounds of the burning logs in the fireplace, made for a very romantic and unforgettable Valentine's Day! The animals (ducks and cats) on premise also are very friendly, I was concerned about an orange cat who was sick. I hope the very nice staff at the lodge will take him to the vet. This bed and breakfast looked very attractive on their website which is why we selected it from amongst the myriad of B&Bs in the Fredericksburg area for a two-night getaway. However, when we arrived and entered our rustic but very romantic Swiss log cabin, we knew we had hit the B&B jackpot. This property is obviously a labor of love to its owner, Daniel Meyer. After purchasing the property in 2006, he has built a series of one-room cabins out of logs from an old tobacco-drying barn in Kentucky, and augmented them with windows and doors from a 250 year old country house in Switzerland. They overlook a man-made stream that runs the length of the 26 acre property. Each is named after a town in Switzerland. We stayed at the "Interlaken" and fell in love with the place and the meticulous attention given to every little detail. Even though the cabins are rustic, this is a luxury accommodation. The spacious jacuzzi in the cabin combined with a good bottle of wine was a particular hit. Adjacent to Barons Creek less than 1/2 mile from Main Street on the East side of town, you are just minutes from the shops and restaurants. The only thing the property lacked, in my opinion, was breakfast prepared and served for you. We spent our evenings on the porch and sitting by the creek, watching the stars and listening to crickets and other chirping insects. There is a small trail that leads down to the creek bed by a natural pool. You can walk along the creek and return to the cabins near a cantilevered overlook via a rope to pull you up fairly steep clay cliffs. Three friendly cats became instant buddies of ours. We were less enamored with but entertained by the two ducks who waddled around our cabin presumably looking for cat food. Other guests who knew the owner told us the cats' names were Mini, Gigi and Ruetschle (sp?). If you have a larger party, there is a Victorian house that was moved to the property from Main Street and other accommodations. Midweek prices are very reasonable. We will most definitely be back. read more

Cute cabin but not a restful stay for us. Couldn't sleep well due to windows not having curtains, lights from outside coming in. Large tub was older jetted style and not easy to get in and out of. Padlock on outside of cabin door. Old fashioned flimsy closure inside. Mentioned this as a security concern to Daniel the owner. This was after they'd sent me a customer feedback survey. He says they'd never had any concerns before and maybe we aren't the type of people who enjoy a natural setting with a bubbling creek. The creek is man made, we had no issues with that. I booked a getaway night as a birthday treat for my wife. I had planned some hiking and tours of local wineries but the weather had other plans. As we drove to Fredericksburg, the rain started and the temperature dropped 30 degrees, and it didn't stop there. But the adorable Zug cabin offered a wonderful retreat from the cold, damp outside. We built a roaring log fire, barbequed dinner and opened a bottle of bubbly. The contact-less check-in/check-out was efficient, and the cabin was clean and offered everything we needed. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and booked an over night stay at this romantic rustic cabin. The moment we turned into the property I was bright eyed and looking all around, not wanting to miss anything. They did a wonderful job with all the details around charming property. Each time we'd drive in and out, I'd see something I had missed before. Same with the cabin. So unique and the detail is so fun as you walk around and take it all in. I loved it!! They had soft music playing when we walked in, and I know it wasn't planned, but one of my favorite songs just happened to be playing as we walked in, so romantic and perfect! After returning from dinner in town we sat down on the deck to take in the view of the creek and within minutes we had 2 cats and about ten ducks just off the porch. It was great, we fed them some of our leftovers and they slowly headed back to the creek. In the morning the owner, Deborah caught us enjoying coffee on the porch and told us all about the property, let me peak in the wagon they rent and a few other cabins and also gave us a late checkout. She was wonderful! You will love it here! I hope to return someday! read more

After looking at the geotagged pictures on Instagram, we decided to book it. Let me tell you, it wildly exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed in cabin Davos which was lovely and located near the entrance to the property. We enjoyed coffee on the swing behind our cabin each morning while we fed the adorable ducks. The staff was amazing - the owner of the property answers the phones and works in The Club each night, it was great to see him take such pride in his business and really stay involved. Barons Creekside is a peaceful place to get away from it all yet still close to Fredericksburg shopping and dining. We stayed three nights in the Zug cabin in early April. This cabin has nice front porch with rocking chairs from where we fed the ducks as they came by for their daily visit. There is a little creek that runs through property which added to the tranquility. The cabin is well appointed with coffee and tea provided. The weather was cool so we used the large fireplace a two nights. Ample firewood was just a short walk away. We dined at the on property venue, "The Club" and enjoyed a fine meal and some live music. The menu was somewhat limited but with interesting options. The food and service was very good. We made use of the charcoal grill one evening which is sized just right for a meal for two. We enjoyed Barons Creekside so much that we plan to make an annual visit there. read more

I booked a weekend at Barons Creekside as a surprise birthday weekend for my girlfriend. The anticipation leading up to the weekend alone was super pleasant, as Kyla couldn't have been more accommodating to my questions or requests. Once we arrived, Abby in The Club greeted us with a complimentary glass of wine, once we were unpacked and settled in. Her attitude and warm personality made for a quick adjustment into our home for the next two days. We enjoyed dinner on the patio with live music, during which property managers Magen and Jeremy came over to introduce themselves and thank us for choosing to stay at Baron CreekSide. Soon after, one of the owners, Deborah, did the same. We stayed in Lucerne, one of the swiss log cabins, which includes a very spacious jacuzzi/ shower and a very comfortable bed, which is a big deal for my back. The set up in the cabin was superb and very comfortable. We ended up spending most of our Saturday evening hanging out by the creek and indoors on our couch with a bottle of wine due to how great the set-up was. All in all, our two night stay far exceeded our expectations. Our second stay here at Barons Creekside. This stay was at The Lucerne. Quiet, peaceful tranquility, with Main Street only a mile away. The cozy cabins, are perfect for a couples getaway. The creek, and the sound of the running water is calming and relaxing. I enjoy sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in the morning. Ducks, deer, cats, squirrels, possum, and other wildlife roam the property. At night, it is even more beautiful with the decorative lights that adorn the property. We loved the style of the cabin, all the amenities and particularly the open air jacuzzi out on the front deck. My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend in one of the quaint cabins. Everything was perfect! Daniel, the owner took a parcel of land and transformed into something out of a storybook. We sat in rocking chairs on the porch and watched the butterflies, birds (including the resident family of ducks) while admiring the abundant wildflowers and listening to the babbling creek that bisects the property giving every cabin it's own virtually private view and access. With the onsite vineyard and club playing live music, the experience was awesome from beginning to end.
