Love this place. The food is good and the menu has various options with daily specials. It stays open 24 hours a day and never has a "bad" crowd. The bar has multiple tv's, plays good music, and has booths and tables if you don't wish to sit at the bar. It also serves the full menu. The upstairs dinning area has tv's and music as well and is a casual atmosphere. Wish there was a location downtown. read more

I never really liked this place as a kid, but over the years it's gotten better. They now offer gluten free pizza and pasta, so I'm able to get something different than the grilled chicken dinner that I usually get. (That grilled chicken dinner is fabulous, btw). The gluten free pizza is worth it. A bit pricey for the GF crust upgrade, but it's a good crust that doesn't get soggy and fall apart. It tastes great too. Their sausage topping has improved over time, it's no longer as pellet-y as it used to be. The gluten free pasta dishes that I had (chicken, broccoli, pesto) was decent. I never asked how they handle the cross-contamination in the kitchen, but I've never had an issue with being glutened from them (thanks, Barraco's!) They have wonderful catering too. My family usually orders their chicken tenders by the pan for events since they are (well, in my case, were) delicious. I was here recently for a holiday party, so I can only speak to their banquet service. Our group was squeezed into a small area used for event space. I was told that the room we were in was new, rebuilt after a recent fire. It's a small room, high ceilings, very loud. (It has that feeling you have when someone turns a garage into living space, echoey and odd) The appetizers were on a table behind guest tables that were packed so tight no one could get through. The pizza and bruscetta, if you were lucky enough to get to it, were pretty tasty. Service was overwhelmed. I hesitate to blame poor service on these servers as they really seemed to be hustling, they just weren't able to get to everyone in our group often enough to keep up. The dinner itself was unpleasant. I went with Chicken Vesuvio. The chicken itself was tough and dry, and lacking in flavor. The potatoes were cold and undercooked. And the entire plate was without any sauce. I did speak to others at different tables who had a similar experience with their plate. Overall, I will try again for dinner or pizza at a regular table, but as far as the banquet service, I'll pass. read more

Initially ordered because I did not feel well, did not want to cook. However, first they forgot fries with chicken tender dinner. Then I did not look at my chicken Alfredo until the next morning. It was a gummy mess. Sent with breaded chicken, not the usual grilled chicken. The salad was old(lettuce slimy) bread was hard and stale. I reached out to request refund only for the chicken Alfredo. Was told the OWNER WAS THERE BUT COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I had to wait for a manager. After calling back several times, manager Helen was put on the phone. She was not very kind. She said they always use breaded chicken in their chicken Alfredo, would credit me for the missing spinach and mushrooms, was not apologetic, and hung up the phone. Pretty good food at this location and great delivery people! I haven't eaten inside,but my delivered food has always been hot,fresh,and tasty. My favorite dish is the chicken parmigiana sandwich.Today I tried the chicken parm with spaghetti and it tasted great! Most places mess up the pasta and/or the sauce,but this place got it right. It was $14-15,but the portion is enough for 2 meals,especially if you add a side salad. Other things that I've tried were the shrimp,the American sub sandwich,and the pizza. Everything on the menu is great; family friendly, great for a night out with friends, wonderful bar to hang out in. Service has always been amazing and when something isn't right, they'll make it right! We've been eating barracos since I was a little kid and now we bring my kids! Sicilian pizza is my favorite and I almost always order the pretzel sticks and cheese (their cheese sauce is the best ever anywhere). I am writing this specifically about the catering menu. I needed to order a dinner for about 12 family members. I ordered from the prepacked catering menu for 10 people. So affordable and enough for 20 people all for 70 bucks. The salad was fresh, pasta fresh and chicken was the best I've ever tasted. We ordered some Barraco's thin crust for delivery after finding out that they had a gluten-free option to satisfy the pizza cravings of our pal whose insides will explode if he eats wheat. Alright, I may be exaggerating about that last part. I'm not exaggerating when I say that our gluten-free pal devoured his entire specialty pie in one sitting. It was truly a sight to behold. Those of us that love wheat loved our pizza, as well. The sausage was some of the best I've ever had and, as an avowed pepperoni-fanatic since way back, almost made me consider switching to the dark side. Almost. All in all, Barraco's was definitely a pleasant surprise, and I'll order from them again. Talk about RACIAL PROFILING. FOOD is always GREAT. However, customer service SUCKS! I have been patronizing this restaurant for years until 12/13/22. I had a disorganized waitress asked for two different drinks but the bar had no mix for both drinks I was finally served my apple martini. Secondly, I and my friend ordered a pizza and shrimp salad. Thirdly, the pizza was awesome but the shrimp was not deveined (DISGUSTING) who wants to eat shrimp with a shit vein popping back and forth as you eat it. We asked for the manager (CARLEAN) who was a white-dark haired mid-age lady who addressed that that's how they serve there shrimp and was very rude and ignorant when addressing our issue. She then stormed away indicating that she will do what she wants for whatever reason that was. After, this rudeness we received our bill which the manager took of the shrimp salad but charged us GRATUITY when we asked the first thing came out of CARLEAN'S mouth was " I AM GOING TO CALL 911" all because two BLACK AMERICAN CITIZENS asked for a explanation of our bill? Last night Myself and three of My Cousins went into this Pizzeria and was hit with Most disrespectful Group of People Ever. We were totally Discriminated against at this Business. I gave them a chance. Never ordering at this location again. I first ordered delivery earlier in the week and they forgot my red sauce. As the driver was about to pull off I mentioned their was no Parmesan or red pepper. With no sense of urgency he gets out of the car and hands me the condiments, then regarding my sauce, shrugs and says "I can come back if you really want for your sauce" it was five pm rush hour and it wasn't that serious (he also had no desire to come back) so I said I'd call no big deal. I am assured by the manager it would be saved under my number and placed in a future order. I call three days later as my bf placed an order and I wanted the sauce added. I hate I didn't get the woman's name but she was rude and almost intentionally putting no effort toward finding the documentation to add the red sauce. I had already been inconvenienced earlier that week, and now when I call to try and get it added, it's not found? I could tell she had a bratty attitude about working on a Friday so I asked for the manager. Low and behold the manager finds my information immediately. The manager was pleasant and efficient. When I finally got my order, the red sauce was in there, but once again no Parmesan cheese or red pepper. I've never heard of a respectable pizza establishment that doesn't give out a plethora of pizza must haves. On top of it all, they burned the pizza....SERIOUSLY? So annoyed. This location is lacking serious work ethic and the ability to follow simple directions. We have been wanting a good deep dish for a few weeks and didn't want to go downtown so decided to try Barracos. Have has thin crust pizza before and was great. This was not good at all. The crust was under cooked soggy and very soft. I actually had to put the pizza back into my oven for 30 mins to finish cooking. Also the toppings and sauce where not evenly distributed, some pieces had 2 -3 pieces of sausage some had 5, some had none. Pizza was also suppose to have mushrooms and those where non existent. Overall very disappointing- I'm a native of Chicago so I know how deep dish should be and this was not. Hope it was just a bad night for the kitchen read more

Let's face it, any late night food joint that will deliver a seafood skewer platter post-midnight is automatic grounds for skepticism. Thankfully, my skepticism turned into a full belly and what I'm sure to be a salmon-induced slumber this evening. I ordered the seafood skewer with a salad. The salmon pieces are fresh, large, and delicious. I was using a bit of oil and vinegar to dip my grilled veggies and salmon pieces just before shoveling into my pie hole. Greatest. Decision. Ever. At about $25 for delivery I felt like it was overpriced until I had over half of my platter left for tomorrow (plus this one is on the company dime :-) ) I definitely recommend you order here because if you don't then I will. First time dining in. . Have ordered take out in the past. As Buffett go, this one is just below average. While the pizza is good, everything else is just bland. It's a hit and miss type of array. The Beef was juicy but the bread was not exactly fresh. The soup was cream of rice, but lacked flavor. Ordered a medium pizza for delivery, they told me about an hour. Delivery driver calls me that he's pulling up. I live in a condo so I go downstairs and drivers not there. Call him doesn't answer, it's been 20 minutes wondering where driver is. Finally driver calls back says sorry called the wrong person at first. It's understandable, cool I get my pizza go up stairs. Open my pizza and...pizza is missing slices. I call Barracos right away tell them hey I got my pizza and it's missing slices. They're like what you mean, again I mean got my pizza and opened it and there's slices missing in the damn pizza. They apologize and say they're gonna rush one to me ASAP and to give the pizza to the driver. Same driver come to my door about 40 min later says sorry man the other person I delivered the wrong pizza said they never touched and I didn't check...so this dude delivered my pizza to the wrong person at first then they called him it's the wrong pizza. Switched the pizza and went to my house to deliver my pizza that's been touched and eaten by other people without checking and lied to me about it. When I called Barracos they just said sorry didn't even offer me a discount or refund just sent me another pizza. Never going to order from the place again. The first time I ate at this restaurant was after a funeral of a good friend of mine just this past Monday (April 12). So I guess they have "funeral packages." Anyway, we had food in "family style." A whole room was reserved for this whole occasion. The food was great! We had a fresh delicious salad, great crusty bread, fried chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, mostaccioli, veggies and for dessert, they gave us ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a hint of caramel sauce and a cherry (which I do not like so I just removed it) on top. It was all very tasty and I was definitely full at the end of it. I would love to go back to try the pizza; which is what I will be doing this Sunday with my daughter and a good friend I met at my church. I wish the lighting was better but my eyes adjusted pretty quickly and after sitting down enjoying the meal, it really doesn't matter then. :) Can't wait to go back. I'll be writing another review for the pizza once I have it this weekend. :) read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!! If I could give Barracos Evergreen Park 0 stars I would !! On Sat May 11 at 545pm I experienced the WORST POSSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE imaginable. I made reservations for 6pm a week prior. My family and I were celebrating my graduation (MBA) from St Xavier University. When we arrived the hostess informed us that even though we had reservations , there would be a wait before we could be seated. There were 10 of us including my elderly 83 year old mother and 3 children, one who is a 2 year old toddler. There was no room to wait inside the small cramped space. After standing and waiting for over 45mins ...no one gave an explanation or apology for the extended wait time. As a matter of fact, the manger went out of her way not to make eye contact with us. I approached the dining room manager (Fran) who seemed extremely annoyed when I inquired about our wait time. She snapped at me telling me to go back in the front and wait until she is ready. I explained to her that my mother and the baby needed to sit down because they were tired of standing. Fran was so nasty and rude thst in her frustration she pushed the table into my sister. The YOUNGER MALE WHITE MANAGER ( I assumed) was even more rude and unprofessional stating " we don't have to serve THESE people. Needless to say what was initially planned as a celebration was completely ruined by the managerial staff at Barracos Evergreen Park. I would never set foot in any of the Baracco establishments again. read more

To me Baracco's is a pizza enigma. Apparently less so to others, however, because they've expanded to several locations and the mothership in E.P. is always teaming. But why an enigma? I suppose because of my 30-years of high expectations which are occasionally unmet. Is this unfair? Maybe, but if you buy a Rolls Royce and receive a Smart car this would not leave you feeling smart at all. Note: The man behind the machine who highly influenced Sam, Vince, et al, was no other than Uncle Nick from the transcendent Vito and Nick's pizzeria on south Pulaski-- but they too proved a gamble, as, for example, they would vere from their highly regarded thin crust unique deliciousness and after a long wait for ordered food they would actually deliver a near black, burnt pizza (the pizza likely to have been cooked, laid to rest, forgotten, and then recooked to oblivion.But when V&N's was good it was sublime. So too with Baracco's. A few days ago we ordered a pizza delivery (I live close by and they are expedient. Note: So close, one day a few years ago I heard excessive activity around 5 AM, stepped outside and witnessed and filmed the grease fire that subsequently destroyed the place. My film on youtube was poorly done but you get the sad implication with the massive number of fire vehicles that all was not too end well. It didn't.) Anyway, the delivery dude arrived in a nano second but when he handed me the box it was so light it felt empty. And empty (devoid) it was as it contained merely a scosh of cheese. Unfortunately, this diminutive thin-thin would rate out as a 3/10, kinda like buying a car without a steering wheel. What almost saved this scimpily adorned pizza was their magnificent, wonderfully sweet sauce. But I write today because similarly inadequate pizzas have arrived before. Note: Ultimately they made the previous debacle right by dispatching a pleasant and astute young manager with a 10/10 pizza in tow and a well-crafted, confidentially delivered, atonement. Boy I wish they could duplicate THAT pizza every time. So, order and hope for their best but don't assume that all will always be well, but hope that your pizza play is not like craps (no pun) because in this dice game a player in the long run will with 100% certainty lose all his money to the house. So, to not lose is to stay out of the game, but with Baracco's overall majesty and deft management you will win far more times than lose! read more

Customer service is terrible, pizza is not cooked the same as the Chicago location in Beverly. I live in Evergreen and I purchase from Chicago. I know you want to give students jobs but at least train them to be professional and cordial. Every time I call or go there they make you feel like you owe them something for shopping there. The host, Hannah, was extremely rude. When asked for her manager's name, she says that she didn't know their names. She was unpleasantly sarcastic, after she knew were unsatisfied about not being seated. We had a group of 7 adults and 2 children and they told us the wait would be an hour and a half when only 5 tables were being occupied. When we asked if we could split our group up into 4 and 5 so we could be seated sooner, the manager said that it wasn't allowed because we (adults) would be moving around from table to table. The staff that we dealt with should definitely be in a different profession. I am a bartender and bar manager and would NEVER treat people the way we were treated at this restaurant. Barraco's is a family owned Italian restaurant on the south side of Chicago. They have faithfully served the community for their entire existence. I really their pizza and the distinctive taste and soft thin crust style. They have near perfect consistency with the overall quality of the food, so you will never be dissatisfied if you normally like the taste . Besides their pizza, I would recommend many of their Italian sandwiches; beef, meatball, sausage and chick parmigiana. Had the lasagna and Tiramasu and they were OFF DA CHAINZ!!! Not many can make Tiramasu, but Barraco's NAILS IT! The cake is moist, not soggy, and it has just the right flavor. Perfect for delivery 24/7. This place has great pizza and other great entrees. On the downside, their biggest pizza is only 16". Not very filling when trying to feed 5+ people. Also, they can be a bit pricey. Otherwise, Baraccos is the place to go/order from!! read more
