LOVE love love! B-rocs! My absolute favorite entree is the chicken vesuvio---it's is very hard to come around a fine ,quality eatery on the southside. The opening of the mountgreen wood ristorante made me very excited! I no longer had to take the trip to 95th street for this excellent food experience, it was right in my own backyard! The new dining room in MTG is truly extraordinary and classy. It is definitely a major up-grade and baracos deserves to become a franchise all over the U.S! Only downfall is, I've had much better serving experiences in E.P. My server named, Amber was very rude and seemed unhappy with her choice of employment there. She brought out our salads 2 minutes before the dinners which is a HUGE disappointment in "fine dining" . I over heard her bashing a customer with rude comments and vulgar language while walking past to the bathroom. A little advice to the barraco family is to hire happy-enthusiastic servers to help create a better atmosphere. I then came in with my husband a second time and we chose to sit at the bar for the game, there she was again, now tending our drinks. I gave her a chance and remained content while she was continuing to be very rude. She practically threw our drinks at us and made me feel un-comfortable to ask for another glass of wine. Hopefully next time we will be taken care of by a more respectful/positive server. I noticed the two women sitting aside us making remarks on her attitude and it even opened a conversation between the both of us. Still love the amazing-ness barracos has to offer with their delicious food. I ordered from the 111th store tonight on grub hub for delivery.. Ordered at 9:45 and at 11pm my estimated delivery time, the food still wasn't there. Called the restaurant and was put on hold for two minutes. Spoke with the manager and was informed that the order will be there in a few minutes... 11:30 food still wasn't there.. Called grub hub and canceled. chicken fingers and fries.. hour and half and not a single call from the restaurant stated they were running late or another explanation on why it wasn't there. Not worth the trip. Pizza is good; order it for pick-up or delivery. The 2 stars are for our server, who was very good with our large party. My eggplant parmesan was so salty! I didn't finish much, and did not bring home the left overs. Hubby's meal was also super salty. Many in the party had tge same complaint. We both had the red sauce. The food and table service at this restaurant are very good, but they have a big bartending problem. I've been here twice. The first time I asked for an after dinner drink (B&B) and the bartender told the server they didn't have it. I stopped at the bar on my way out and found it displayed prominently at the bar. The bartender then told me "OK, now that you found it how do you serve it". When I told her she said "OK, now I have to find out how to charge for it" The second time I asked for a Manhattan (a basic classic drink made of whiskey and vermouth) and it was served with vermouth only. read more

Very poor experience at both barracos locations I've visited, the pizza was cold and too greasy.

I had the sausage pizza once and ate it around 6pm and then at like 10 I started throwing up. I had only ate cereal at 6am and then didn't eat till 12 hours later. It was for sure that pizza that I ate. read more

Service was terrible...well I actually don't know if it was terrible Bc we didn't get any service. The hostess didn't greet us just a "be with you in a sec" and then sat us. We sat for approximately 15mins while the bartender and servers ignored us after which we got up and left. We've recently had two funeral luncheons and this restaurant. The first was for my mother in law in April and the second for my brother in May. Let me say the food is excellent. We had family style for both. The service however was not even close to being good given how rude the servers were. When it was time for my brother's funeral we decided to go with this place again because it was literally two minutes from the cemetery and the food was good. We hoped the bad service we received prior was just a fluke. Unfortunately we were wrong. The servers just did not appear to want to be there and were bothered by any request. They were unfriendly to say the least, especially a blonde female server and subside dressed in street close who wanted some of the guests to eat from the buffet instead of being served like the rest of the party simply because their table want full and all the other tables were. We did have a considerably larger crowd at the second luncheon. We asked for a second serving of chicken and potatoes because the serving portions were small and some people at the tables had barely any food on their plates. The second serving did not arrive until after the third request and this was about 45 minutes after the first request. The tip for 4 servers was $240.00 I actually would have left more if they were at least a bit pleasant. Everyone has bad days but considering we had just buried my mother in law and now my brother, a bit of empathy towards our luncheon would have been appreciated. I give the food 4 stars but if I could give the servers a zero I would. Try a little empathy if you're going to serve for a funeral luncheon! read more

I have dined here many many times since moving to this area and I have yet to be disappointed. I haven't had their pizza yet because the amazing pork chops call me almost every single time! I have no clue how they make them so tender and wonderful but they are. Their chicken piccata was delicious as well. Good wine list and good service. Love love love the back area with the seating around the fire pits and the tv. All in all I like the place and will return many times in the future. read more

I would just like to start off by saying I was very disappointed by the service provided to me when I came to this location. Let me start off by saying that I came in with two other friends and asked what time they closed because we had come in around 1 am. The man at the entrance said 2, and offered for us to sit at the bar because that was the only dine in part we could eat at. We sat at the bar and wasn't greeted very friendly by the lady behind the bar. We then placed an order and I specifically ordered all our food TO GO, because we were going to possibly order a drink while we waited. She brings out the food about 20 min later meanwhile she never come and brought us water or asked us if we needed anything else or did a last call on liquor. We never even saw her behind the bar until our food came out. She finally brought the food out to us in a to go bag wrapped up as if it were a to go order. However, when we were given the check the prices were higher than usual and I only know because I am a frequent Barraco's customer and have ordered multiple times the exact same order. When I asked her why the price difference?she replied that because we ordered from the bar it was run up at a dine in price. I was immediately frustrated because good customer service would've informed the customer before we sat down and placed the order about the price difference and especially with her not giving us good service she could've gone to another register and rang it out as take out. First and foremost we should have never been charged a dine in price when we were not provided A DINE IN EXPERIENCE. When I asked to speak to the manager the lady by the name of KATIE behind the bar told me "ok but you need to pay first" I never had to go back and forth with a server about paying before speaking to a manager. I refused to pay the remaining balance without speaking to a manager first to see if my check could be adjusted. She finally gets me a man by the name of Rick i believe; who was nice but very unhelpful. He claimed he could not adjust or do anything about it or even apologize for obviously THEIR mistake. Instead I had to pay for terrible service that was barely even given. WORST experience I had in a while with a restaurant I loved ordering from. I will no longer order from this place and will be calling again to speak to the GENERAL MANAGER. Which by the way, I called again today in hopes to speak with the GM but of course the same guy Rick picked up the phone and said he was not there. Smh This place is a joke and needs to hire a server who actually wants to do her job and be friendly. Katie obviously was NOT having a good day at work and obviously did not want to be there but if that's the case; don't go to work. I can't tell you how unprofessional it is for a server to argue with a customer. Went to Barraco's for the first time last night. It did not appear to be super busy, but it looked like there was a party in one of the rooms. We had to wait a few minutes for a hostess to greet us, and we were told it would be a 30-25 minute wait. We pre-ordered a pizza and went into the bar area. The bar is very cool, they have a couple of leather couches and then bar seating. We also had to wait for a bartender to take our order. They have a list of craft and domestic beers. We finally got seated in the restaurant after about 25 minutes, and our pizza arrived a short time later. This was a thin crust pizza, not too much cheese or sauce. It was pretty good, but I don't think I would drive all the way to Chicago for this Pizza, although they have a couple suburban locations. read more

February 5th, 2015. For my son's 10th birthday. He wanted so call good pizza and not our usual Nunos pizza which would have been half the price and more sufficient on delivery time..So since they're the one of the few who deliver, we ordered, paid $5 delivery charge and tipped $4 through grubhub. We called around 5 pm. After a while of waiting, we had to run. Not sure what time they actually came. We were out on the errands and the kids called around 8 pm to say they didn't get their pizza($35) pizza. While on the phone with the kids, they opened the door and found a pretty much frozen pizza at the door. I looked at my phone to see if they attempted to call..nope..Not once.......NEVER AGAIN!!! It was just rude..they don't give a ****!!!! The saddest part is that I run a busy fast food restaurant and deal with customers all the time and totally understanding of all situations but for them to just threw my food on the ground and left really disturbed me. I love Barracos pizza. The thin crust is so delicious. However, I have a complaint about the use of online coupon codes for the 111th St location. They do not work! I have experienced this problem for months to a year (maybe since they opened this location). I have called the store and they won't apply the coupon on their end even though I can't get it to work. Someone from the restaurant told me to try typing the codes in all caps but it still didn't work. Please fix your online coupon codes! It would be much appreciated. Thanks! read more

While in town on business, I had dinner ordered in to this hotel where I was staying. I used the menu that was in the room, which was barraco's on mt greenwood. When the food came over an hour later it was wrong, cold, and a mess. I called about this matter and was hung up on 3 times. This meal came to $34.61. They finally agreed to give me a complimentary dinner the next evening as it was now too late for supper. I did not know what to do with the food that had been left, so housekeeping threw it out. The next day I called about the complimentary dinner and was told that I could only get credit for $10. I felt so defeated but went on and agreed. I also ordered their fish dinner, at additional cost, of course, and the fish was old and very, very small. I looked at the reviews to get an idea of this place. All I will say is I will never, ever, have anything to do with them again. And yes, they hung up on me as I tried to straighten things out. Also, there was gravel on the bag the food came in as if the bag sat on the floor of the car that delivered it. read more

I have been a customer of Barracos' for over 30 years. For the most part my family and I would order in from home, rarely did we visit the restaurant. Since they opened their location in Mt. Greenwood, it's much closer to home, but I have to say they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced at any restaurant. You walk into the place and I ask why do they even have a greeting booth when no one is ever there to greet you and welcome you to Barraco's. Every time I walk in, I have to wait at least 5 minutes before anyone acknowledges me. There have been times I walk in to have the buffet lunch and I just go in and help myself. Then I take a seat to start eating and still it takes them awhile before they come to over me some water. With all the money they make, they should invest in customer service courses for their employees and hire someone as a host/greeter to welcome everyone with a smile. read more

Bring a lawyer with you if you go there expecting to use a discount coupon. I had lunch there with my BF earlier this afternoon and am still fuming about the bill. BF and I had a coupon with us that offered a "two-fer" for two dinners. Showed coupon to one of the "managers" when we first arrived and asked what the definition of "dinner" was (coupon did not define the term.) We thought she said any menu item except a soup or salad qualified, but turns out only menu choices that come with a soup or salad are considered "dinner" items. Fifty-eight dollars later, we were informed BF's cheeseburger, french fries and cole slaw did not count as a "dinner," and so sorry, but "the computer" would not allow any adjustment in the final tab. Seeing below others had reservation issues too. Been a life long Barracos patron (Burbank and Evergreen), my brother even worked at one location for a few years. I called and made a 7pm reservation 1 week prior to the event for a group of 7. Arrived just before 7pm and the hostess told us it would be a few mins because they were waiting for a table to leave. 15 mins later I asked the hostess for an update. She informed me that a 5pm reservation was still at the table and had not left yet. I explained that I had also made a 9pm reservation for another venue and was informed by that venue if we were late we would loose our table. I actually felt bad for the hostess, she was trying. My group of 7 sat and waited. At 730 pm they sent a waitress over to tell us that the group still had not left but it should be any minute. I then asked for a Manager, Daniella. Daniella informed me that "reservations weren't a guarantee" (nobody said that over the phone). She was apologetic but other than that didn't do anything...didn't offer an appetizer while we waited, drinks, nothing. At 745pm I ended up calling another restaurant down the block (got in right away). Please sort out your reservation issues. read more

I ate here late at night on a Monday, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. The wait staff was friendly, professional, and fast. The food arrived in exactly the time I would expect. I ordered deep dish pizza, which takes 35 minutes to bake, and I had my pizza in about 36 minutes. I ordered the mushroom and spinach deep dish, and I was very happy with the taste, texture, timing and presentation of the food. Being a Southside Chicago native, I am am pretty picky about both food and service, and this place was just great. I ordered food from the bar, knowing that I was going to be writing a review, and the bartender was quick, attentive, polite, and professional. The ambiance of the place is varied, as there are quiet places, comfortable and warm outdoor settings, and various indoor settings to satisfy any customer. Kudos to the staff and the management- this is truly an excellent place to enjoy drinks, pizza, and the company of old and/or new friends. read more

We came here for dinner for the first time since it opened and was thoroughly impressed. The space was redone beautifully with lots of light and open space; you don't feel on top of other tables. I'd like to start by saying I had a private pizza party for 25 ppl in December 2016, and had a pleasant experience with no complaints. However, I had the same party in January 2018, and have numerous complaints. For starters I had to call Barraco's 3 times before anyone returned my calls to book this party. The day of the party was a complete disappointment. I showed myself to the party room (No hostess or restaurant managers were even insight for the entire party), 2 pizzas came out burnt (I like well-done pizzas but these were burnt), we had to ask for soft drink refills, at cake time we had plates but no silverware so I had to find someone to get utensils, my guests wanted coffee and again I had to go find someone to serve us. Lastly, the party ended at 4:00pm....myself and a few family members waited in our coats until 4:15pm for the check. AGAIN I had to hunt someone down to pay for this party, which was not cheap. The main problem was complete lack of service. I went home and waited a couple of days before calling Barraco's with my complaints. When I called one of the employees listened to the complaints, but said a manger would have to call and discuss this with me. No one ever called, so I decided to open a Yelp account and voice my experience. Barraco's has lost this loyal customer. read more

My fiancé and I literally live 5 blocks from here so when it opened we could not have been more excited. I've been here at least ten times and have had all mixed experiences. You cannot go wrong with the pizza (that they've been doing right for years) however food items are completely hit or miss. I've had two of their chicken dishes which tasted like pure salt. But then again delish salad and pasta. But Caesar chicken wrap too much chicken/dressing. Overall I love this place for the bar and appetizers. The bar is beautiful and fantastic. It has any liquor you can imagine san I love all the dark wood. They make my favorite martini here just like I ask them too! For my birthday last year I made a reservation for 25 people for tables along the bar. We ended up having over 35 people turn out!! CHRISTINA was our server and she did an excellent job! I had my husband's surprise party here and I was very pleased! I booked it through Danielle who was extremely helpful and made great suggestions! We did not get the party room, instead I opted for a portion of the bar, some tables along the wall and the area where the couches are. It was perfect! People were able to walk around and mingle and help themselves to the drinks and food. We had the best bartenders, Erin and April! Erin especially checked with me often - whether to open up another bottle of wine or to order more food. I highly recommended the place! read more

One of my favorite places to eat. This is one of the newer locations and its very nice inside. Their food is always delicious. Try the chicken tetrazzini its one of my favorites. They also have a lunch buffet that is good, has enough variety to please anyone in the group. read more

I usually order from the 95th location, which has always been a great experience..due to that location being closed for construction it routed the call to this location. This is a great place to watch a Blackhawks game. Even when it's crowded I've never had to wait more than a minute or two for a drink.
