My family and I have been going to Barraco's for years. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. It's a shame that people are posting fake 1-star reviews because of hatred. Since going when it first open, all I can say is OMGez!!! This place is freakin phenomenal. To our surprise, after my husbands graduation from the CFD we decided to go to Barroccos; they have a BUFFET set up during lunch hour!! There was no waiting the staff was friendly like always and I LOVE their chicken vesuvio. Totally recommend this place not only because I live in Mount Greenwood and they are local but honestly it's a very family friendly place. Give them a try. read more

I'll give this one a 3 star. I just have never been a big fan of barracos on 95th or some of the food really. J I will say that this one is allot better then the restaurant on 95th. I would suggest if you like a good chicken chopped salad I like this one even though they went a little much on the onions but still not bad. Parking will not be easy with it being off of 111th so good luck with that! read more

Dined in with local friends who order carry out frequently, something I encourage others to do if they choose to visit. Service was very slow. Our waitress was very attentive but it seemed like she was the only one serving the entire restaurant. Host staff stood around doing nothing while this poor girl (Megan?) worked her arse off. Overall the food was fair. I had the lobster ravioli which was good but the Alfredo sauce was mediocre. I also had a cesar salad that was just awful and absolutely don't recommend this. I asked if there was a mistake but the waitress clarified it was made correctly. She did offer to give me an alternate salad but I declined. Our friends liked their chicken parm and hamburger so perhaps you would have better luck with those options. Nice environment and lots of seating but not sure we will return. read more

I ordered delivery this weekend. Worst food I have ever tasted for $25.00. I live 3 blocks from Barroccos Evergreen Park, I have always been very happy with their food. Mount Greenwood for delivery........OMG, horrible, and I am not picky! I ordered broasted chicken.......it was Not bad. The Cole slaw was tainted! I know the difference in "I don't like the taste" and something is wrong with this and it is spoiled! One little fork full and I threw it out. Mashed potatoes were full of garlic, not mashed with milk, salt, nor butter. Just water mashed and garlic. Horrible. Mashed potatoes are my favorite food, so disappointed! Sausage sandwich was OK, sausage was full of fennel. No other real flavor, not great. So disappointed. I will never order from Mt. Greenwood Barroccos again. I hope Evergreen Park Barroccos is like it always was when it reopens. read more

We waited 45 mins to be seated with a reservation. Our waitress left in the middle of taking our orders. We were a table of 10 and 3 people had not ordered when she walked off without saying anything. I like to think that we're not being discriminated against, however we where a mixed race group in extremely casual attire. This place looked very fancy and probably looked at our group and made the assumption that we wouldn't be spending any money. Antipasto salad... half inch diced slices of american cheese, same with slices of ham, handfull of sliced black olives out of a can, giant chunks of raw broccoli and iceberg lettuce. Yum! Carry out, threw it out. B. Brought in a friend from out of town... ordered a beef sandwich with natural and peppers, got Italian sub... got beef sandwich 15 minutes later, cold. He had to eat alone, (had to eat mine while still warm. C. Took my sister here for lunch. She ordered a BLT. Wanted avocado on it, nope. Got her sandwich... got a chunk of french bread piled high with overcooked bacon pieces that would have been better served as salad sprinklings. Speaking of salad, there was NO LETTUCE OR TOMATO!!! The food was horrible. I ordered the shrimp already to go. The sauce and the noodles were bland and flavorless. The shrimp were clearly from a frozen bag or something but they were not fresh at all. I would imagine the shrimp would be fresh and not taste like rubber when they are additional fee to go with the Alfredo. I paid almost $25 for my food and was very unsatisfied. Stopped in and due to reviews was worried about what I would come across. Let me tell you I was surprised to find that this place offered some of the best steak sandwiches I have had in a long time. The fries are awesome, loved dipping them in their homemade bbq sauce. The beers were cold and always on hand. The cute patio in the back was fun with fireplace and the music was good. First time my family dined in and it was the best dining experience. Phenomenal service! Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Had an awesome thin crust pizza with the sweet sauce. Okay so I am extremely sad that the evergreen park location burned down. The workers their did not deserve that nor did the owners, but honestly the transfer of business to this location has not held up. The pizza is my biggest area of concern, the sauce and cheese are not the same, plain and simple. That melty and authentic mozzarella at evergreen is just not the same, the sauce is also wayyy sweeter and does not compliment the other ingredients. It's such a shame that a very good pizza place can't get it together and operate to a higher volume with the same quality and standards. I really miss the evergreen location I cannot wait until it reopens I will be their every night ordering my usual. Please Barraco's hurry up I miss my late night pizza!!! read more

The WORST dining experience we have had in a long, but not because of food quality or the server. The Management.....what can I say, obviously the girl that stood talking to the couple at the table next to us Talked NON STOP, daddy this, oh wow is me, wa wa wa, for over an HOUR..... obviously it is all about her, didn't care that she was disturbing our conversation. We wanted good food and a nice quiet dinner out. Can't believe that we stayed and ate our food in almost silence since she was so ridiculous and kept on talking and talking. I don't understand why the man and woman let her talk even after their hot food arrived, she still stood there talking and talking. I just wanted to yell shut up! Our server was a nice young man, so sweet, so attentive took care of all our needs, wasn't responsible for the blabber mouth next to our table. We got our check left and she was still talking. We will be back, but at a different location. We were customers when they were a small store at 95th and Kedzie, we appreciate the food and have been a long time supporter of this local business, but Daddy needs to school his daughter about what it means to be a manager! Attn: Funeral Luncheons beware! Our funeral director notified Barraco's, from the church, that 28 people were there. Within the hour we all (24) arrived, we taken to a room, and told to sit at the front 4 tables. Each table had settings for 7. The two nearest the rear remained empty. The food was ok. But when we went to settle the bill, we were charged for 28 meals. I pointed this out to the server who went to the ?owner/manager? working the front store. She told the server we were being charged for 28 because that was the number called in! Unbeknownst to us that Barraco's and the funeral director spoke, but it was only an hour. It's not like we were sent home with food for 4 people. Never again. read more

Well, ordered on 11/15/18 and part of our order was missing. I called immediately. They said they would credit us. Today, 11/20/18...no credit received. I called the rest. and they said they will give us a credit for the next time we order. This is horrible business, Barracos. So extremely disappointed tonight with Baracco's of Mount Greenwood. I just can't believe the treatment we received...err didn't receive. We walked into the restaurant at 5:45pm and gave our name to get a table. 3 adults, 3 children. 6 total - one being a high chair. The girls behind the counter quoted 20 minutes and said we could have a seat in the couch waiting area. We got our buzzer and plopped down. Very comfy. There was only one other couple that was waiting at the bar and they were seated within 5-8 minutes after we came in. 6:05 came and went, then 6:15 and then 6:20. The kids were being mostly good, but were certainly ready to get into the restaurant and eat. Several other smaller groups came and went as well.... Finally at 6:25, almost 45 minutes later and after calming another tantrum -- we decided to ask about our table. "There was still a large partied reservation that hadn't even arrived yet that needed to be seated and helped before they could do anything for us." - I figured that party would come in and we'd be up within minutes. Another 20 minutes and NOTHING. This time I went up to the booth (looked like the manager was up there, it was). This time I explained that we had small children, had been here almost an hour... Blah Blah... I then asked if she knew approximately how long before we might be seated. She told me there was a group still eating, once they finished and left, a call ahead reservation still needed to be seated... WHAT??? I told them they had quoted me 20 min. I explained my children were small and loosing it... She offered up seating in the bar at the high-tops. Right now!!! Ummm did I mention I needed a high hair?? I explained that wouldn't work. She turned around and started fixing something up and doing something else- going back to what she had been doing... She totally did not seem to care that they had quoted me 20 minutes, that it had now been 60 min, that my children were beyond hungry, that the late reservation wasn't there... None of it. My family came in from central Indiana and had been looking forward to our Pizzas and Soup and cheese sticks for what seemed like forever. After the service given at this, I don't know that we'll EVER be back. It was that ridiculous. There was no possibility of it ever being 20 min. When it was 40 min, I should have been warned, helped, what have you.., but nope. They let us continue to entertain the 6, 4 and 1 year old and pretend we might be getting a table at some point. I have patience, I can wait... I understand the process...but this could have all been avoided by not lying to me and my family. We're all so extremely disappointed in the service - no real apologies and nothing to help that we had already waited an hour... I probably won't be giving Barraco's of Mount Greenwood another chance... That was ridiculous!!! 30 year customer LOST! Sickened by the service or lack there of. Mostly in the management. read more

Met friends and family at the bar last week. First time there. It was very nice inside. That's where the positivity of this review ends. We started a tab that got to over $200, they asked us to pay it. No problem if they were changing shifts but they weren't. They were afraid of us leaving without paying the bill. Totally rude and first time I saw that after working in restaurants for over 20 years. Overall we spent close to $350 there, tipped the bartenders ovet 20% and received horrible service at the bar. We tipped well because many of the group is in the service industry. We had to constantly remind them we ordered drinks. They didn't buy one round let alone a drink for anyone of us. We will not be back ever and I will let everyone I know not to bother. Worst service on the south side. read more

The new Barraco's on 111th is the bomb. They start you off with some excellent fresh baked bread and olive oile with balsamic vinegar and fresh grated parmesan on a plate for dipping. The bread and dip alone are worth a visit. Everything else was just as good, well prepared, and in oversized portions. I had the sausage and peppers, and they were delicious. Everyone in the area is always complaining about lack of choices for places to eat, well here it is, so go there and give this place your business. You won't be disappointed. read more

Awesome Lunch! Stopped in for the first time, finding the place via Yelp after meetings at the Oak Lawn Hilton. Better than advertised! Sat at the bar, skipped the buffet and order off the menu. Unbelievable prices on bottles of wine, basically a long list of familiar labels with a good Italian red going for $25. Had the gnocchi with vodka sauce and a breaded chicken breast. Came here for dinner tonight. No one was at the hostess stand, waited for the host to come back for 5 minutes. Was seated and waited another 10 for our waitress. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We received our salad & soup before our drinks. My drink was incorrect & when the new one was dropped off, she removed my unfinished wrong one. Our food came about 20 minutes later, it was nice & cold. Once we were finished eating she dropped off our bill. My meal(mostacholli in vodka sauce with shrimp, zucchini & mushrooms) was $30!!! Went for dinner last night. The waitress was nice and attentive. Ordered the lasagna and was disappointed- too dry and too many chucks of meat, not nearly enough sauce. The worst part was dessert. Ordered the grasshopper pie. When the waitress brought it out my friend and I were surprised at how small it was. Desserts are usually a good size and people share. This piece was tiny, and seemed to be missing a layer of the mint ice cream. When we commented that it was small, the server said "they are presliced" and walked away. If I worked there, I couldn't bring myself to serve that to a customer. We ended up ordering the cheesecake because that pie tastes like it had freezer burn. Would have been nice if she took it off the bill, but no she didn't. If I go back I'll probably just stick w the pizza. read more

Just left this restaurant after choosing NOT to go there in over two years because of the absolutely horrendous service we received when we were having an early dinner, and it was not even crowded in the least to warrant such poor treatment. Living in the neighborhood, I wanted to go out for dinner this evening somewhere close by, so I decided to give it another try. BIG MISTAKE!!! It was not busy, so they sat us immediately. That's where any type of customer service stopped. Servers and busboys walked past us, but no one bothered to stop and even give us water. After literally sitting there for 13 minutes, I approached the hostess stand, and another 5 minutes passed with still NOTHING!!!! I will absolutely not ever go here again, nor will I ever ever order take out or have any of my business events in any of their chains. So disappointing and rude. read more

I've been here a half a dozen times since they opened. The bar is well done and the bartenders have been friendly/outgoing. The food has been good. The Supreme pizza is better than their regular thin crust. Wings are just the right spiciness. They take reservations but they don't go by them????????????? (Insert Seinfeld episode here) read more

The most horrible experience of my life. I have eaten there numerous times and enjoy the pizza and menu, even had my daughter's rehearsal wedding dinner there on 95th St. However, I ordered a large sausage and mushroom pizza with 1/4 cheese because my granddaughter who is 7 just wanted cheese along with her friend and it arrived all slid over into the box and not a bit of cheese pizza to be had. I called 111th St. to complain and I was told "we put cheese on every pizza". "Sorry" Needless to say, I will NEVER order a delivery again. The excuse was unprofessional and when my husband looked at the leftovers the next day he wondered what the heck it was! My neighbor two doors down is a manager at the Barraco's on 95th St. (Helen) but I was unable to get ahold of her. Such a terrible experience being in the Mt. We love coming to Baraccos. The pizza is always delicious. We also love the chicken, the caprese salad, all the soups and the pastas. The staff in the restaurant and bar area have always been nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The nightlife is great too. The outdoor area is amazing, especially at night.
