Very disappointed with their service. You have to leave a voice message and they call you back. They had to come back several times our ants were constantly a nuisance and our house is very clean. I also found that they never checked their messages on Sat morning before their team went out for services. I had this happen a few times. Left a message the Friday before they were suppose to come out and no checks the messages on Saturdays so, I had to pay for a service I didn't want. Don't recommend them. read more

I used them for 18 years and then the last 2 years they got different techs and they were terrible. They said they did service when they didn't because I could never get rid of anything they were treating for. They said they had performed service and put a service ticket because they didn't know I was home and they didn't perform any service. So after 18 years I discontinued their service. I've been a customer of Barrier off and on since 1995. They are excellent in what they do. Rarely does an insect get through their outside barrier spray yet my dog can go back outside in 15 minutes. Although I was not notified that the service was to be done today, either by my two phone numbers or by text, which I normally am, the service technician that came to my house, OMAR, did an Outstanding job!! Omar was extremely pleasant to talk to, (since I was surprised he was here), he was very thorough, and did more than anyone else has done WITHOUT ME ASKING!! I will be requesting OMAR in the future, hands down! Their contract is a trap and their customer service is terrible! They came knocking on my door late one evening back in the Spring of 2024. They talked me into giving them a try so I signed my name on the tablet for and apparently became bound to a contract. Immediately after that I realized I was still under contract with another company that I had been using for a couple years so I called Barrier and explained the situation. The female who took my call was very rude and basically said once I sign it I can't cancel it without paying $185 fee. I kept pleading with her and I told her I don't need 2 different services spraying out here within the same time frame. She did not care. And basically said there's nothing I can do about it! A couple weeks later my usual service sprayed and then within a couple days after that Barrier came out and sprayed. I called back to tell them to STOP spraying because my pets didn't need to be exposed that often. They were hard to get ahold of and once I did get ahold of someone it was still the same kind of argumentative treatment. I told them I don't want them on my property anymore. They continued to show up unannounced and left me bills. They showed up once unannounced on a holiday while I was having an outdoor family gathering and BBQ. I made them leave but I still got a bill! Finally it was winding down to the end of my contract and I told them again I don't want them to come out here and every single time I talked to them I told them I want to cancel my contract. It was the very last quarterly service time, they finally did not come out, but still billed me for it and charged me the $185 early cancellation fee. I paid for all of the services but I refused to pay the cancellation fee as all of the services had been paid for whether they did them or not! I wrote them a letter with the last payment, explaining that every quarterly payment had been made and I don't believe I need to pay the cancellation fee. I didn't hear anymore out of them so I figured it was done. But no, they turned it over to a debt collector which I promptly disputed. I will also be turning them into the BBB for the shady business of charging the cancellation fee even though I had paid off everything else! I do not recommend them for anything, their customer service is horrible and coming to people's doors late into the evening soliciting and roping people into contracts they can't get out of without a stiff penalty is just shameful and bad business. read more

Randall has been our pest control guy since we moved here from California in 2021. He's great, he goes out of his way to service our property perfectly. He takes care of the mice problem, the fleas spiders everything we could ever need to protect our home. He gives us a detailed rundown on every visit on what he has done to the yard. He's friendly. He loves to talk and we like to talk to him also great guy. We are so blessed to have Randall as our go to guy for pest control by BARRIER. Randall deserves a win. He's a hard worker. Barrier was referred by a Family member so they came out to spray and set traps for mice the cat kept bringing home. The first time they came out they sprayed the yard and only set one small trap under the crawl space, one small one in the kitchen and one in garage with a rat size trap. Nothing was caught, but we caught them in our own catch and release traps and the cat killed 3 in the backyard. Next visit she told me she couldn't spray because of our garden, but they sprayed the trip before. None of their traps caught anything on 2nd visit so she added two more to the kitchen. 3 months later still catching nothing in their traps and ants were appearing in the house. So I called to cancel the next visit telling her their traps are doing anything and their spray doesn't work. She then said the spray is for ant and bugs not mice. She told me give them one more chance with a free visit. I said "No, you are doing nothing for me and you haven't caught one mouse which they were hired for. She then told me I owed them $100 for cancelling my contract which I never signed a contract with them. I told her Good luck because I'm not paying for something they didn't do right. Very rude customer service or sure. And I know it's the same lady I've talked to a few times before. You should have more concern for your customers and be concerned why they are complaining about your service. And not being rude and just trying to get more money out of them when you did nothing you were hired for to begin with. read more

I was a loyal customer of Barrier Pest Control from 2023 to today, October 22, 2025. Initially, their service was excellent, with all promised tasks completed on a quarterly basis. However, over the past six months, there has been a noticeable decline in service quality. Services included in the package were not fulfilled, and I did not receive any kind of communication with an expected window of time frame for when the technician would be arriving. I had to make several reservice appointments, which are never available the same week. After today's unsatisfactory service, I decided to cancel my contract. I requested a partial refund for my last bill, which was denied. Honestly, the last 6 months should be refunded, if they took the time to look at my account and see how many times I have called for the same service that has not been completed. Based on my recent experiences, I cannot recommend this company, as customer satisfaction does not appear to be a priority for them. read more

I have been with this company for 4-5 years and their service and changes in policy went down hill. I feel like they force appointments on me when I don't have availability and their scheduler gets really aggressive with her tactics. Every 2-3 months they will automatically book appointments for me (without confirming or checking my schedule). It is my responsibility to cancel the appointment if the time doesn't work. 99.9% of the time, the appointment they pick doesn't work for me. So I have to reach back out to cancel. This is extremely ineffective and inefficient. It appears they are so desperate for work (or money) that they pressure appointments on their clients. I'm getting so fed up that I'm close to terminating my account. Something has to change. The hassle I have to go through is not worth it. read more

Justin arrived on time today (2/17/2025) and did the treatments inside the home where I had seen ant activity last week. I like that the techs always are professional, courteous and thorough; I don't usually require inside service but then they always explain how the service works and how to prevent subsequent infestations. I appreciate their quarterly treatments and I haven't had ant infestations since I began using their service. He also left a treatment to resolve mouse issue under the house siding. He says to check the window tracks because that's where ants will come in (and he found a dead ant in my bedroom window). I've had Barrier Pest Control providing service, off and on, (mostly on) for the last 20 years. In the last few years, they no longer leave a hang tag on the front door saying that they have been there. This feels important because I have a dog that can't get out through the gate, and historically the gate latch has been left partially open. I've provided feedback on how important this is to me and was told that this (no hang tag) was current policy. To their credit, they do let you know via text that they are coming next day sometime. The latest; Today I am sitting in my family room and the dog and I observe someone coming through the side yard sweeping the eves. Good job on the eves, but I would have appreciated a quick knock on the door as I wanted to remind them of a trap that they had set a while back. I will be looking for another Pest Control company, which is unfortunate because I do like to spend my money locally and they had previously been very receptive to feedback. read more

I was referred by a neighbor. Barrier is great - I have them come out on a scheduled basis and also as needed. As for this year with the ants?! It's been awesome to have this service. When I called to request a visit, they scheduled out a follow up for a week later because there seems to be an ant ~kingdom~ stirring below the area. The people who come out are usually quite nice and respectful.. there was one guy once that I hope I don't get again though. Oh! This one time, early on in our relationship, I had an issue with a reeeally ripe stench - a dead rodent maybe? - coming from under the sink/in the walls. They used some kind of deodorizer that knocked the smell out like a gotdamn miracle. That's what hooked me! Worth it. read more

I have been using this company and their services for 3 years. But after today, I no longer will be using their services. I received my quarterly service today and my last. Between the aggressive person scheduling appointments and then the dishonesty today. The scheduling person doesn't know boundaries or when I tell you "I'll call you back when I'm free and look at my calendar ". That doesn't mean call me 2 more times after that and then schedule an appointment without me confirming. That part of their business has bothered me how pushy they are with making schedule appointments. Today however was the icing on the cake....I have cameras in the front and back of my house. So when I received my invoice and notes from technician of what he did, I was completely shocked when my camera videos did not show such a thing. I emailed the customer service to explain how unhappy I was with my service today. I received a call back from some lady and I explained to her that the technician was dishonest and I don't appreciate paying for a service when it was not done correctly or noted. I also told her I have cameras and if they would like me to send them over I could. Her answer to me was "well we could schedule you another quarterly full service at no charge. I told her that was silly because I just received one today. She went in to tell me they can't refund my money and "our technicians can't falsify notes", ummm excuse me of course they can and he did. I have the proof he did not sweep all my easements of my house and I can provide the recording footage. She again tells me I can schedule a quarterly service for free. I told her no thank you and I informed her today was my last service from Barrier Pest. She said "oh so you would like to cancel", ummm yes I am. She went on to ask is there anything else I needed help with after canceling my services. How about make this right and listen to your customers who pay a $100 quarterly for a not even 10 minute service. I can easily do myself and have been after their mice and rats traps have failed to do their job. I had to do the work and take care of it myself. I can continue to do it going forward and I even recommended my neighbors to use them about a year ago. Guess I'll be letting them know how dishonest this "family owned local business " is.
