Tasty grilled cheese after I devoured most of it!

Wonderful staff - so friendly and helpful. Fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. Grilled cheese was a generous portion and tasty. Garage pile sandwich was also a very generous portion and yummy.

We had a brunch a reservation for a Friday morning, but the place wasn't too busy when we got there, and we're able to get seated early. The place is cute, bright with a coastal and airy interior. I ordered the Mushroom, Tomato and Chevre omelet, which was served with potatoes and toast. It was so good, I never think to add pesto to an omelet, but worked really well, especially with the chevre. Highly recommend. We also ordered some beignets for the table. These were a little bit of a disappointment, not because they weren't good, which they certainly were, but rather because they were more akin to donut holes than than beignets, to me personally. The consistency was more cake donut than deep fried beignet. Definitely try them for yourself though! I would come back to Blue Bear next time Im in the area! :)

While exploring the peninsula, we decided to try out Blue Bear for brunch. Parking was a bit of a game of chance, but we managed to snag a spot, which already felt like a small victory in one of these cute little towns. We were seated right next to the front door. Not exactly the VIP section, but we rolled with it. The server was cheerful, friendly, and happy to answer all of our many questions about the menu. We kicked things off with the beignets, which came out hot, fresh, and absolutely buried in powdered sugar. Were they more like powdered donut holes than classic beignets? Yes. Were they still tasty and fun to eat? Also yes. It's just more Fond du Lac than Café du Monde if you ask me. I went with the Wisco Burger and house-made chips. You could tell everything was fresh and farm-to-table. The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and topped with melty cheese that made every bite better than the last. The chips were crispy and super satisfying. All in all, Blue Bear is a charming spot with great food and kind service. Even if you end up sitting by the door, it's totally worth the stop.

    Smoked pork hash to go!

Stopped in for breakfast. Great service nice atmosphere. We both had the EB breakfast. I asked for crispy bacon and it was spot on, eggs cooked perfectly, potatoes seasoned nicely. We added the special jam, excellent and enough to share some. If you're standing around Al Johnson and still have a two hour wait, a short drive north for a wonderful breakfast.

Blue Bear was a great breakfast joint in Ellison bay. They had outdoor seating, which I always love. Their food was expensive for the portions they gave. However, everything tasted fresh and was high quality. Their menu was more unique than your typical breakfast joint. For example, the garbage pile was delicious and something I've never seen before! It was a croissant with hash browns, eggs, 2 meats, cheese and a hollandaise sauce. I got the morning bun French toast which was super sweet and the Cherry compote was outstanding! I got it on the side because I didn't know if I would like it since I'm not the biggest Cherry fan, but I could have used 3x the amount they gave! Our friends got the omelet and brunch burger and both really enjoyed it! I will say, their mimosas were not very good, so I would pass on that next time. I just wish Blue Bear wasn't so expensive!

We continue to love this place. Good vegan options but also just good food and good people. We will continue to go back every year. The service is incredible and it is just so cute.

Double shot cappuccino. Very light on the espresso.

I've heard about this place for a very long time and was so excited to finally get here. Unfortunately, I had already eaten but I really wanted to try the espresso which is Valentine and I am quite familiar. ordered a cappuccino, which was supposed to be a double shot. Much to my surprise it was like tinted milk. I asked the owner if there was really two shots in there and she confirmed not a very friendly atmosphere but when you're out of town you get what you get sometimes.

The food was overpriced, nothing to write home about and the wait staff was snippy. The only highlight was the fresh-squeezed OJ.

Food was good, bartender (ahead of being seated) was great, atmosphere was good. Service was SLOW and inattentive. There were multiple times where we waited 10-20 minutes with no food or drink in front of us. No one ever followed up for additional drink orders outside of the first. After about 1 hour & 10 minutes, I flagged down a bus boy and asked them to find out why we still hadn't gotten the main course. They said we were behind a big table and it should be about 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I flagged down my waiter and asked what was up. I was told that it was my fault for asking for our focaccia, appetizer, and main course to be spaced out. (the only options that were given were to have all items at once or spaced out) At this point I asked for a manager. The manager (owner) came out hot, acting like the soup guy from Seinfeld. He had the waiter repeat what she told to me earlier and when I tried to interject, told me to stop and listen to her. I reiterated that at this point we'd been there for over an hour after being seated (late) (also at this point it was almost and hour and a half since being seated) and that it was unacceptable to still not have been served the main course, whatever their excuse was. There were at least 3 servers, and not over 20 tables in the entire place. Instead of offering anything at all to make up for it, acknowledging any of the issues, or least of all apologizing, the owner told the waiter to "get us out of here". The waiter wound up bringing the entree in a bag and the check (including the entree) to us. I had to demand I wasn't, at all, paying for the entree in order to get it removed from the bill. (I left it on the table) The bottom line is that, the entree could've been the tastiest dish in the world, but this place doesn't deserve your patronage.

We visited Inland at the recommendation of a colleague--and we were not sorry! In the past, we…read morealways visited a different local pizza place (not in Bailey's Harbor), but we need a change--and this was a really great change! They do not take reservations, but since we were there a full week before the 4th, we were able to get a table pretty quickly--even on a Saturday night. They have seating both outside and in--but it was chilly, so we sat inside. The dining room is light and bright, and one can see the water, though, it is an obstructed view--and really, were were there for the pizza. We first ordered the Simple Salad. The salad is really simple, but oh.my.god--the lemon parm dressing was SO GOOD--and I'm not so much a throw-a-ton-of-dressing-on-my-salad kind of person. We had leftover dressing and we took it back to cottage where we stay ("home" for the week). Our server also wrote down the ingredients so I can try and replicate it at home (the actual place where we live). We ordered the organic red sauce + mozzarella pizza and added roasted oyster mushrooms on half and castelvetrano olives on the whole thing. I mention this only because they didn't blink at all with our requests. In fact, they were great about that sort of thing. The first glass wine my server suggested I order, I didn't care for. She just got me a different glass of wine--and that was what we were charged for. More about that pizza--it was SO good. The olives added a nice salt, mushrooms were just perfect in that they provided that sort of meaty, non-meaty taste. Oh, and the crust--good god it was good. Not too thick or thin, dusted a bit with cornmeal on the bottom, light, but good chew. It was just perfect. Oh, and the water dispenser--on the bar, one serves themselves from a tap. They have three different kinds of water--still, sparkling, and one other that I cannot remember. Love that. The services was also, as I mention above, really attentive, but not pushy at all. I only have one suggestion for them. Many of the pizzas have sausage on them. We don't eat pork (not kosher, just appreciate the fact that they're smarter than the dog). It would be nice to have chicken as an option. We definitely visit them again when we're in Door Country again.

I visited this past weekend over the 4th and unfortunately had a really concerning experience with…read morewhat was supposed to be a gluten-free meal. I ordered the gluten-free Rosso pizza and specifically confirmed with my server that I was gluten free. At one point, the kitchen initially brought over my pizza, and when I double checked, they told me it was NOT gluten free. Their team then took it back to the kitchen to remake with a gluten free crust. After that, my dad and fiancé received their regular pizzas while mine took another 30 or so minutes to come out. They eventually stopped eating so I wouldn't have to eat my food alone, and by then their food was cold. There were also several other order issues during the meal, including the wrong salad being brought to our table after another long wait, which is not a huge deal (it was a holiday weekend and they were busy) but it felt like our entire order was miscommunicated. What led me to write this review is I'm quite certain that the "gluten-free" pizza I was ultimately served was not actually gluten free. For the next few days after eating it, I became very sick with symptoms consistent with gluten exposure, and it honestly impacted the remainder of my time in door county. What especially raised concern for me was that our server later sent us home with another gluten-free Rosso pizza as an apology for the wait times and order mix ups, and it looked dramatically different from the pizza I had just been served. The crust, texture, and overall appearance were completely different, which made me increasingly worried I had been served the wrong order. The "gluten free" pizza I had been served (in the image attached) looks identical to my dad's regular pizza (plate behind it) and nothing like the other GF pizza crusts in the reviews. I did notice this when our server finally brought over my pizza however she did confirm it was gluten-free. I understand restaurants get busy especially over holidays and mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to be harsh or accusatory. But for customers with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, this is a serious health issue, not a preference. I really hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its gluten-free procedures and communication between the kitchen and servers, because this experience was really disappointing. Inland also does not have an email posted on their website nor can you leave a message when calling, when I tried to discuss with them directly.
