My wife and I with our new 2022 Forest River Sunseeker. Our 6th rv but second with Barrington Motor Sales.
    Rob P.

Almost 5 years ago we were pre looking for an upgrade to a rear diesel pusher looking ahead to retirement. We went to BMS to look at the new Sportscoach. Sitting next to it was what we thought a new Winnebago. We told the salesperson what we wanted and he pointed to what I thought was a new Winnebago. It was what we wanted but not being ready, we were ready to walk. Sean, one of the owners came in and talked to us. Gave us a price. We were sitting in the coach discussing for quite a while. He came in twice, giving us a better offer ( which was better than anything my wife could find on internet. ) we bought it. They serviced it for a fair price and took care of our warranty work. Sean was alway available to chat. Fast forward to last week. We had a life change and wanted to sell our rv and later downsize. ( things not being available or cheap) they offered to buy it at a fair price and stuck to it. But when we came in we told Sean to keep an eye out for particular rvs we may be interested in. He happened to have a class C ( sunseeker) just come in and suggested that we could save a ton on trading in. He gave us a great deal and is taking care of a few odds and ends before we pick it up. We are thrilled with them and know they will have our backs with our new rv. Thanks, Sean, Bryan, Rich, Monica and Vince

Here were the top annoyances: Air Conditioning - Broke completely in the middle of our July trip, the mechanic said it was quite old and missing some screws. It wasn't possible to fix on the road, so we had no AC for 4 days. Sensors - Many of the key sensors were inaccurate. Ex: black tank level, water level. This proved very challenging for first time RVers like us, who didn't have a feel for how often to empty or refill tanks. Door - The screen door was missing a piece of plastic, which created a hole for bugs to come in and the door itself required a VERY hard closure to latch. My kids could rarely do it themselves. Awning - Not functional; directions in troubleshooting book didn't match type of awning on our RV. Generator - Shut off inexplicably a few times. Mattress - VERY old and worn. Electrical panel - Literally kept closed with duct tape and wouldn't stay closed. Easy to accidentally turn things off. Privacy curtain - Held back with duct tape. Easily knocked open.

But when I was looking for a replacement for my Class A, Vacationland had the exact unit I was looking for listed at a great price. Worked with Noah and Joel to walk the unit. Had my own inspector come through. The gave us HOURS to pick through the unit with a fine-toothed comb; they never rushed us or hovered. Honestly, it was the integrity of the team that made the purchase a no-brainer Had to get some work done on it after purchase and worked with Mark and Mike. I don't have a single complaint. Mark treats me like an old friend every time he sees me; asks me about my kids, remembers their ages. Mike gave me a demonstration of the unit before I drove off in it. Can't say enough how Vacationland has redeemed my perspective on RV dealerships!

I have no other previous experience with Camping, but common sense told me I would not enjoy sitting in a tent on a bleak, rainy day, like Abel does. My wife and I call him "Misery Camping" when we see him on YouTube. She has no interest in Camping *or* RV'ing - so I knew I'd want a teardrop with room for me and my dog. After a couple months of *very* diligent research, I've analyzed my Requirements (and sadly, my budget!), to determine which of many options "was best for me". Using that learning window, I emerged with nuCamp 650 as one of my "Prime Contenders". So, I got on Facebook, joined a couple of NuCamp Groups, and asked for the name of a RELIABLE local Dealer. The name "Vacationland, in Big Rock" kept turning-up, all with positive comments attached. Vacationland's website states they are Family Owned / Family Run - which is an absolute *must* for me, versus a "McRV Juggernaut" (especially one brand that Liz Amazing constantly calls-out on YT.) I drove myself out to Big Rock, and with a touch of trepidation (I'm a newbie!), went inside on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I was greeted by Joel, who sat down and looked-over my notes describing what I was looking for. I was honored (and proud of) the fact that he immediately mentioned the NuTab trailers - the same one I had honed my list to. He walked me out to the lot. He was helping another set of Customers, so he asked if I minded - I said "of course not!", and he left me with his permission to wander and explore anything I saw. So I checked out the 650's, taking videos and pictures, sitting by myself in the campers in the rain to gauge whether my claustrophobia would kick-in. It didn't, and Joel came back every 10 minutes or so to see how I was doing. His "being cool" with me just wandering around gave me the opportunity to collect data with NO PRESSURE - which in turn changed my requirements just a little bit - now to a 650 Black Canyon. Even more amazing (to me, anyway) - when I showed those videos to my "never ever camping Bride", she was intrigued, and said she'd accompany me on at least one trip, someday. THAT's Progress! I left Vacationland with a very good impression. Although I didn't buy anything on Saturday, I was not pressured to... and Joel's attitude told me an awful lot about the Dealership, too. When Purchase Time approaches (retirement, spring 2027) I'm going to go there *first*. My compliments!

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Jayco and Rick's RV…read more I bought my Jayco camper brand new just a year ago, and it has now been sitting in Rick's RV's service department for over a month for warranty repairs I was told would take two weeks. During this entire time, I have received zero updates unless I call them myself. Meanwhile, I am still making payments on this camper and paying for storage I can't even use because my camper is stuck in their shop. This has completely ruined my family's summer camping plans, and it is beyond frustrating that a brand-new camper should need to be in service for over a month without clear updates. To make matters worse, Rick's RV told me I could come pick up the camper without a working stove (which is under warranty) so I could use it. How ridiculous is it to pay $27,000 for a camper only to be told I can take it without a fully functioning kitchen because Jayco and Rick's RV can't figure out whether to replace the stove? The lack of transparency, accountability, and customer service from both Jayco and Rick's RV is outrageous and should be a serious warning to anyone thinking about buying from either company. They have my money, but I don't have the working camper I paid for, and they don't seem to care how this impacts their customers. If you are considering purchasing a Jayco or working with Rick's RV, think twice. Their customer service ends the moment they get your money, and you will be stuck chasing them for updates while your plans and wallet suffer. I am posting this publicly because I want others to know exactly what kind of service they can expect.

I was NOT trying to play the "leverage game" and wanted the results to be the result of good (or bad) business practices. It wasn't 24 hours later before I was contacted , apologized to, and informed everything was being "made right". Camping World (as large as they are) still cares about business. I can appreciate that. I do appreciate that. I have since completed the purchase of a new RV and cannot wait to get out on the road this spring . Reviews are like opinions - take them with a Grain of salt (whatever that means). They are an individuals perception of a specific happening at a specific moment. My experience went from positive to negative by the actions and decisions of one individual. Don't let one bad apple ruin your banana split! Thank you Camp World for being professional, caring for the concern of your customers. Looking forward to future dealings and a long relationship Original review: I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Camping World in Wauconda, IL, and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. From the moment I walked in, the sales tactics were pushy, aggressive, and entirely focused on closing the deal rather than addressing my needs or ensuring my safety. Despite my lack of experience towing anything longer than 14 feet, they convinced me that towing a trailer over 38 feet long would be "simple" and assured me that "with the double axle design, you won't even know it's there." This was irresponsible advice, especially since I didn't even own a vehicle capable of towing the trailer's UVW of 9,000 pounds. The misinformation didn't stop there. I was told the RV "already had solar" because it had an inverter preinstalled. In reality, the unit was only "prepped for solar" and did not have any panels installed. Additionally, the sales team inaccurately claimed that the heat was "all electric" and not propane-based. It became clear they were simply telling me what they thought I wanted to hear, regardless of whether it was true. This lack of honesty and transparency made me feel misled and manipulated throughout the process. The most frustrating part of my experience came when I placed a deposit to "lock in the price", since the price was "accidently posted way below originally intended". I was assured that the deposit would be refunded if we didn't finalize the purchase. However, after deciding not to proceed with the purchase at this location, things quickly deteriorated. I was initially told that the financial department was closed over the weekend and my refund would be processed on Monday. When Monday came and went without any communication, I followed up only to be rudely informed that they were keeping my deposit for "work done"--despite no work actually being performed on the RV. The lack of professionalism and accountability from Camping World was shocking. Phone calls went unanswered, promises were broken, and I was left feeling disrespected and deceived. The staff showed no interest in resolving my concerns or taking responsibility for their actions. This level of customer service is unacceptable for any business, let alone one as large as Camping World. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Camping World in Wauconda to think twice. Their high-pressure sales tactics, misleading information, lack of transparency regarding deposits, and overall poor customer service made for an awful experience. Save yourself the stress and frustration--look elsewhere for a dealership that values honesty, professionalism, and its customers.
