Cola marinated steak a little tough, the chicken tacos however were amazing.

Waitress was inattentive, we told her it was our first visit but it didn't matter. We had to send someone else for her to come to the table. Not impressed

Barrios in Cleveland Heights has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the area. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic--perfect for a casual night out or meeting up with friends. The interior has a trendy, urban vibe with fun murals and lively music that adds to the experience without being overwhelming. The tacos are consistently creative and flavorful, and I love the build-your-own option. Their chips and queso are dangerously addictive, and the margaritas are always on point--especially the jalapeño one if you like a little kick. Service is usually fast and friendly, even during busy times. There's a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and during warmer months, the patio is a great place to hang out. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving great tacos in a fun, laid-back setting!

I love barrio, always have had a great meal there! I love the chips and salsa that comes out before. Then the tacos are absolutely amazing. I always make my own, and the Thai chili tofu you definitely have to get it's hands down the best!

Build your own tacos was such a fun and delicious experience!

Great atmosphere, service, and exceptional food! Barrio made it in our MUST VISIT list for every time we're in Cleveland!

Chorizo taco and Gochujang BBQ Tofu taco

I love that you can choose everything that you want on your taco and how many tacos you want. They have unique guacamoles that are always very flavorful and the chips are always crispy. The gochujang bbq tofu was great with the barrio slaw, beer braised black beans, caramelized onions and poblanos, and cilantro lime aioli. The chorizo was seasoned great and went well with the onion, cilantro, lettuce and chipotle honey bbq.

Look familiar... ya..Condado-like little Taco & Tequila spot. Bustling with a college aged crowd, it was lively and vibrant. Loud and noisy, but unless you are looking for a romantic evening, this place can suit your style. Tacos are either predesigned with some creative ingredients that compliment each other, or you create your own spicy, sweet or savory result. We started with the Chorizo Queso which could have been served much warmer and with much more meat...it was ok. The chips are those thick ones with no salt, purely a preference if you like them. I don't. My soft flour tacos were filled but not with much of the protein I selected. More the veggie options. The staff is genuinely perky and positive, apologizing when necessary so perhaps I will return to give them another shot. BTW, they do NOT state some terms that should be stated...What exactly is the upcharge for additional choices and if you want sauces beyond 2, there is a charge.

Very sadly, I just saw that the two other locations are closing immediately, just 1 day after our Valentine's Day dinner at the Larchmere location - now officially, the only one left standing. The Lakewood Barroco was in my top 5 favorite restaurants in all of Cleveland and I am super bummed. I hope this last location will stay open for a very long time. As for the Barroco food, it was superb. We went all out and tried a few things on the menu. We aren't big drinkers but I sipped on a strawberry mojito with lots of real strawberries throughout ($14) and my bf enjoyed the "Iguana," a pretty little rum cocktail ($12). We shared the shrimp device and tostones appetizer ($18). The tostones reminded me of a structurally sound latke, or potato pancake! Our shrimp ceviche was doused in lemon juice and mixed with lots of healthy vegetables. This was large enough to be an entree for a healthy eater! However, we still had lots of room in our tummies and we each got our own main dish. I stuck to the arepa and yucca fries combo I love so much, although I switched it up and ordered a different arepa than my usual. I liked my "Ropa Vieja," or braised beef arepa ($22), fine but I prefer my usual pulled pork arepa much much more. The braised beef arepa was like a sloppy Joe in an arepa. Made for pretty good leftovers though! My beloved was feeling adventurous and treated himself to a nice and fatty cut of the Carne Asada and Calentado entree ($38). After tax and tip, our bill was a hefty $130 for the two of us. I'd say that the food, the service, and the ambiance made it worth it though and I hope it continues to stay open so we can come back!!

Great overall! Visited on a weekday night and was able to…read morefind street parking easily. We were seated quickly and the servers were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is spacious and colorful, perfect for anything from casual to celebratory! The flavor of the plantains and arepas was great! Large portion and great presentation as well. I thought it was a little bit on the pricier side but worth it for good flavors and service.

I ordered online to the wrong restaurant and they completely refunded my money when I called about it. So I liked that right off the bat. We then ordered to go at this location. I really loved the place. It had a really fun atmosphere and everyone was so nice. I forgot the name of our cashier/bartender but he was fantastic! Now the good part. We ordered a strawberry yuzu frozen margarita while we waited which was delicious. We started with the queso chorizo dip which was also very good. The chorizo is homemade and I wish it had a little more flavor but we finished it, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I ordered a prime time taco which was super good. I loved all the flavors. I also had a vegetarian bowl with lemon kale & the chili tofu. It was SO good! It was fresh and something different. My fiancée had the carne asada burrito and his biggest complaint was too many peppers. I would recommend this place! I really enjoyed it and the people there really made a difference.

After waiting about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone, I decided to at least check out the restroom while I waited... and that's when everything went downhill. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.

For whatever reason, tacos sounded like the perfect comfort meal after braving the airport. I stepped into Barrio on a weekday afternoon and if I didn't know any better, I would have thought they were closed based on the quiet street and customers inside. There were 6-7 other guests in the restaurant but beyond the music, it was very chill in there. I took a seat at the bar and I was promptly greeted by a nice guy behind the counter. He explained the taco ordering process to me, showing me the order form and even sharing his personal favorites. I love the ordering form! It's cool to see all of the options in one spot, the choices were extensive. I decided to go with 1 specialty taco, the La Tierra, 1 chicken taco and 1 steak taco. I also got a side order of guacamole and pico de gallo. I'm so bummed that I don't remember the second sweet guy who assisted me, I believe it started with a D. He was the sweetest! About 15 minutes after I ordered, he came back with his hands full of bags. We both looked at each other and laughed because, why did y'all give me all of these bags?! LOL. Turns out they bagged each item separately (paper bag and a plastic bag). I felt so greedy omg. I had to quickly rebag it all before I walked out, lol. My tacos were delicious! Albeit, a little soggy due to the sauces I requested to have on them. The guacamole and pico were also delicious but a bittttt too salty and limey. I usually like my guac and pico with a little extra kick, but I could have done with one less dash of salt and one less squeeze of lime, lol. Either way - it was a really great meal and experience overall.

It wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a decent find--especially if you're in the mood for creative tacos. We arrived well after the lunch rush and there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. We ordered chips and salsa to start, but unfortunately they never made it to the table. When our food arrived and I asked about them, our waitress admitted she had forgotten to write it down. The food also seemed to take a bit longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Because of that, the service was a little underwhelming. That said, the tacos themselves were the highlight of the visit. I ordered three of the smaller tacos, but they packed a lot of flavor. My picks were The Yoda, The Love Shack, and The Filthy Fajita--all creative and really well done. Small in size, but definitely big on flavor. Overall, the food was solid, but the service could use some improvement. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see this being a good happy hour spot to grab tacos and drinks with friends.
