    Churros

Had this doordashed. Got a chicken quesadilla and an order of churros. Quesadilla was no bad, the tortilla was a bit thick. Kind of reminded me of the taco bell chalupa tortilla. I did add a bunch of add-ons. Not something you can pick up after it sits for a while. Got a bit soggy since it was being delivered. Had to knife and fork it. Would've liked it to be more of a quesadilla where it's "sealed" with cheese. Looked more like a taco since the cheese was still in it's shredded form. Churros were drenched in chocolate and had filling which were delicious. Again, prob because it was delivered the outside lost it's crispness. Turned into pretty much a donut. Would like to try dine in next time.

Wow! Fantastic tacos and drinks before a show at the Grog Shop. Food was hot, flavorful, and obviously made fresh. I got 3 chicken tacos (Barbacoa, tinga, and al pastor) and my husband got the 3 beef birria tacos with consome sauce and he was impressed. We got Palomas and they paired perfectly - made fresh!

Loved this place. This is the type of Mexican restaurant that draws me. Nothing fancy and a lot of Mexican nationals dining here. I love Mexican food and the food here is excellent. I had 3 different street tacos and they were all delicious. The salsas went really well on my tacos. My friend let me try her horchata which was addicting. They also can it for you on the spot for you to take out which I saw many customers do. After dining at Chipotle for the first time Cilantro is more of my kind of place.

Food is always on point. Service is always good and fast. Ambiance is a cool quick bite to eat I always enjoy.

Great quality food, fast service, kind employees. Great place to get good and plentiful Mexican food in town. Ambiance is a quick to go place but has plenty of seating as well and music playing in the back.

This place was open during the big blackout of 2024, so I took a friend here for lunch. It's like that major diy burrito chain but a million times better with so many options! I got the tofu burrito bowl with a million toppings and jamaica to drink. Soooo good! Pricing was not too bad, 2 burrito bowls and drinks for around $30. Helpful service too. And don't forget to utilize the salsa/pickled items bar too. And try the black hot sauce at the tables it's really good!

Cilantro Taquiera will make you say, "Chipotle who?" It's that good! I've been to the Van Aken location multiple times and always liked it but this is my first time visiting the Coventry location. The first thing I noticed was just how BUSY it was! But the line went super fast as the crew is very efficient. The prices are okay, not great, but not terrible, particularly given the large portions. There are lots of meat/meat alternatives to choose from. I went basic and got a chicken bowl with lots of veggies, Mexican rice, black beans, and a light amount of cheese and cilantro sauce. My total cost was a little over $10. IT WAS SO GOOD! Everything was so delicious and flavorful. I finally got some flavored rice in my life. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was unexpectedly delicious with an herby tangy flavor but likely very high calorie. All the veggies were very fresh as well. I fully intend to go back to this location soon. They are doing everything right!

I love this place but today the burrito was ridiculously small!

I order a lot from this place but today I don't know why the burrito was the smallest burrito I've ever seen in my life. Please don't try to do this again. People do like to support local businesses.

Tacos-tinga, surf and turf 2x, barbacoa, pastor

So I recently went in person and the food was definitely fresher! You see the food set out in front of you and you pick your meats, veggies, salsas, etc (like Chipotle, but better) This time I tried 2 tacos ($3-3.50 each) with an extra side of guac ($2). Tinga (shredded chicken in adobo): I liked this one more-the chicken was super flavorful. Get all the veggies on top! Surf and Turf: Again, minimal shrimp and the shrimp was just okay. Not completely sure but I think the turf was carne asada, which was also okay, but it was tender so that's a plus. They do not skimp on the toppings though, which is nice. And I do like their salsas (they aren't very spicy though) I like their mango habanero the most, adds a bit of kick and sweetness. My friends told me their guacamole was delicious; personally, I thought it was alright. Their didn't mash the guac completely so I had massive slices of avocado everywhere. It also wasn't super flavorful at all. Their homemade chips are delicious though and they do go with the guac really well. Two tacos was more than enough for a meal for me. They also have around 3 margarita machines w/ three flavors. I didn't get to try them but they looked good. Definitely give them a try! They give the same large portion whether you're in restaurant or get takeout, so I appreciate the consistency.

    Vegan Chorizo Bowl
    Pam Pam G.

Stopped by to grab dinner with a friend who said Chorizo was "like Chipotle but better" and I would agree! Most bowls are $10 and you get a ton of food. My bowl will definitely last me at least 2 or 3 meals. The toppings are very authentic and there are a ton of vegetarian and vegan friendly protein options. There's also a topping bar where you can grab lime slices, roasted jalapeños, and sauces. I will say it's not worth to get guac when they ask, it's an extra $2 for a tiny scoop of plain avocados.

Ask the Community - Cilantro Taqueria

    Is the Mexican rice spicy?

I really enjoy spicy foods and have a pretty big tolerance, but I don't find the rice to be spicy at all.

Do they have crispy tacos and margaritas?

    Margaritas yes, soft tacos only

I was with a big group and there were orders from different shops, but I ordered from my people the Puerto Ricans. I had rice and beans with steak and onions, and a sweet plantain dish with ground beef called pastelon. The food was decent and I wouldn't mind coming back if I was in town, especially if I was craving some back home food. PS - I am regretting not taking pictures, but I am getting better at that.

After waiting about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone, I decided to at least check out the restroom while I waited... and that's when everything went downhill. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.

For whatever reason, tacos sounded like the perfect comfort meal after braving the airport. I stepped into Barrio on a weekday afternoon and if I didn't know any better, I would have thought they were closed based on the quiet street and customers inside. There were 6-7 other guests in the restaurant but beyond the music, it was very chill in there. I took a seat at the bar and I was promptly greeted by a nice guy behind the counter. He explained the taco ordering process to me, showing me the order form and even sharing his personal favorites. I love the ordering form! It's cool to see all of the options in one spot, the choices were extensive. I decided to go with 1 specialty taco, the La Tierra, 1 chicken taco and 1 steak taco. I also got a side order of guacamole and pico de gallo. I'm so bummed that I don't remember the second sweet guy who assisted me, I believe it started with a D. He was the sweetest! About 15 minutes after I ordered, he came back with his hands full of bags. We both looked at each other and laughed because, why did y'all give me all of these bags?! LOL. Turns out they bagged each item separately (paper bag and a plastic bag). I felt so greedy omg. I had to quickly rebag it all before I walked out, lol. My tacos were delicious! Albeit, a little soggy due to the sauces I requested to have on them. The guacamole and pico were also delicious but a bittttt too salty and limey. I usually like my guac and pico with a little extra kick, but I could have done with one less dash of salt and one less squeeze of lime, lol. Either way - it was a really great meal and experience overall.
