The taste was standard, but the thing that stands out most is the quantity. Loved how generous they were with the fix ins for the tacos and all the toppings you could add--including guacamole (no extra charge like how they do at chipotle). My 2 tacos ended up resembling a taco bowl. The chorizo taco was well seasoned. 4/5 The shrimp taco was okay, decent but probably wouldn't get again. 3/5 The tostada had that good thick buttery bread, honestly could eat that by itself. Picture doesn't do it justice. 4.5/5 Enough seating indoors. Definitely appreciate the salsa bar, which had plenty of salsas that had a spicy kick, but also pickled onions and peppers. Had this doordashed. Got a chicken quesadilla and an order of churros. Quesadilla was no bad, the tortilla was a bit thick. Kind of reminded me of the taco bell chalupa tortilla. I did add a bunch of add-ons. Not something you can pick up after it sits for a while. Got a bit soggy since it was being delivered. Had to knife and fork it. Would've liked it to be more of a quesadilla where it's "sealed" with cheese. Looked more like a taco since the cheese was still in it's shredded form. Churros were drenched in chocolate and had filling which were delicious. Again, prob because it was delivered the outside lost it's crispness. Turned into pretty much a donut. This place was delicious! Was very excited to try this place with my friends and family. They have different meats and options. Definitely enjoyed this place better than their other restaurants on the west side. The only thing that isn't that great is finding parking to come here. The people are very friendly and the place is clean. There are plenty of tables to choose from when it comes to eating here with your family but when it is busy, good luck trying to find your own seating. We usually come here during the day when it isn't too crowded and people are at work. During those hours we are guaranteed seating which is important when it comes to going out to eat with kids. The portions for your tacos are perfect along with the seasoning and this place definitely has better consommé compared to their other locations. The other locations serve their consommé a little too watery and bland which makes it difficult to enjoy because it feels like I'm just dipping my tacos in water. The first thing I noticed was just how BUSY it was! But the line went super fast as the crew is very efficient. The prices are okay, not great, but not terrible, particularly given the large portions. There are lots of meat/meat alternatives to choose from. I went basic and got a chicken bowl with lots of veggies, Mexican rice, black beans, and a light amount of cheese and cilantro sauce. My total cost was a little over $10. IT WAS SO GOOD! Everything was so delicious and flavorful. I finally got some flavored rice in my life. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was unexpectedly delicious with an herby tangy flavor but likely very high calorie. All the veggies were very fresh as well. This place was open during the big blackout of 2024, so I took a friend here for lunch. It's like that major diy burrito chain but a million times better with so many options! Cilantro Taqueria is a Mexican staple in Coventry. Every time I've gone, the service has been incredibly fast, even though they're always busy and bustling. They have a large variety of different meats, dishes, and fillings, and so far everything I've tried has been delicious. I think their pricing is very very reasonable, with most items ranging between $10-$15. They definitely don't skimp on the amount of food they give you, and I can easily make most food last 2 to 3 meals. Ironically, even though they have cilantro and their name, the vast majority of their food items do not contain that horrid herb, if you're like me, and it tastes like soap. I'd also like to highlight their margaritas. You can get a pitcher of margaritas for $26, and having tacos and drinking margaritas on the patio in the summer is absolutely impeccable. While I do sometimes struggle to find seating at cilantro, there still a great place to get food especially if you can do takeout. read more

You see the food set out in front of you and you pick your meats, veggies, salsas, etc (like Chipotle, but better) This time I tried 2 tacos ($3-3.50 each) with an extra side of guac ($2). Tinga (shredded chicken in adobo): I liked this one more-the chicken was super flavorful. Get all the veggies on top! Surf and Turf: Again, minimal shrimp and the shrimp was just okay. Not completely sure but I think the turf was carne asada, which was also okay, but it was tender so that's a plus. They do not skimp on the toppings though, which is nice. And I do like their salsas (they aren't very spicy though) I like their mango habanero the most, adds a bit of kick and sweetness. My friends told me their guacamole was delicious; personally, I thought it was alright. Their didn't mash the guac completely so I had massive slices of avocado everywhere. It also wasn't super flavorful at all. Their homemade chips are delicious though and they do go with the guac really well. Two tacos was more than enough for a meal for me. I'm super picky about getting Mexican food because many places lack flavor. Not this place! Packed FULL of beautiful tastes in your mouth. The salsa verde could've been spicier, but I understand not everyone likes they're stuff too hot!! Cilantro has potential to be a go-to spot for me, but my first order was disappointing. I asked for sour cream and chipotle ranch as sauces for my salad, and they only put ranch. They claim the elote off the cob is shaved from it and put in a cup, which I was hoping so for $6.99. It's just corn niblets from a can with elote seasonings thrown in. You can tell when corn kernels are shaved from the cob because they have a straight bottom, and some of the cob "milk" remains in the corn mixture. These were fully formed corn niblets that they claim they shaved off. The elote cheese arrived gritty, and there was a huge amount of liquid in the to-go container when I received it. It was inedible and really gross. Their ground beef was in huge chunks, and the tortilla chips were a little stale. Their mexican rice is very good, however, and one of the main reasons I chose to order here. They charge extra for fajita veggies and some of the prices are just steep for the quality you get. I was told that the tacos and food in general here are authentic because the owner is from Mexico so that's cool. I ordered 1 Shrimp taco ($3.50) and 1 Surf & Turf taco ($3.50) which is a mixture of Steak and Shrimp. Both tasted delicious with the mild salsa that I added. The shrimp taco came on a flour tortilla. I preferred the taste of the flour tortilla. The steak & shrimp taco came on 2 corn tortilla's. The corn tortilla has a unique taste so next time, I'll get all tacos on a flour tortilla. I was still hungry after eating but the 2 small tacos that I ate still satisfied my appetite plus it was late so I didn't want to eat too much. Both tacos cost $3.50 but I checked my bank and I was only charged $6.50 total so perhaps the shrimp taco itself was just $3. Maybe somehow I got .50 cents discount....haha. Nonetheless, the taco price is reasonable and quite typical of most other restaurants. LOCATION -- They are located in the Cleveland Heights neighbourhood in an area with local shops. Parking can be a pain but there is a small parking lot on Coventry Road with meters. I didn't have to use the parking meters when I parked so perhaps they are free after a certain time. Overall, I recommend their tacos. Come here if you are seeking a late night food spot that is better than fast food. Cilantro tacqueria, in my opinion, is a better/more authentic version of chipotle/moe's/qdoba. Their food always tastes fresh and full of flavor. They give you a TON more in quantity than the other chains. I can never finish a whole burrito bowl in one sitting. They also have happy hour deals every day of the week, which includes drink AND food deals depending on the day. Their margaritas have never failed yet. I am impressed with Cilantro Taqueria. The staff is incredibly friendly. They welcome you with a hearty hello, ask you if you have any questions about the menu, and smile throughout their time with you. The food is tasty. I've been twice now and have had different menu items each time. Their al pastor is delicious. It's well-seasoned, slightly sweet, and tender. I also like their carnitas, which is so unctuous, chorizo, which is spicy and salty (in a good way), and the lengua, which has nice flavor and is very tender. Their guacamole is fresh and flavorful. Their queso is creamy and rich. Both are served with a big bag of tortilla chips. Moreover, their price points are reasonable. You can have a nice meal between $10-$15. Thank you to Cilantro Taqueria for blessing Cleveland Heights with your business. They replaced the Chipotle that used to be there, in a much needed glow-up (at least I think so). With COVID, they do have a few seats inside for eating, in addition to a few out on the sidewalk. I say this because it was best to get their tacos to eat there at the restaurant. Since they have the separate salsa bar (love that it is temperature controlled), it makes it easier to grab your salsa, sit, and eat. They do have little to go containers if you want to bring some home with your takeout. They have signs that they are taking card only, due to the shortage in change right now. They also put up clear barriers between the customer and the food area, so you may have to speak louder in order for them to hear your order. Their bowls are my favorite on the menu, ordered with a side of chips and salsa (or queso) - you get sooo much food in it, all customized to your liking of toppings. I could eat bowls of just their mexican rice, it is so flavorful! My friend told me about their chipotle ranch dressing, which I'd also recommend if you like something a little smoky and creamy on your bowl. Or, if you like something spicy, their hot red salsa actually packs a punch. They have online ordering through Chow now or Uber Eats, but your fastest option is to go and order in-person. I've tried using Chow now, but they get so busy that I've still waited 15+ minutes after the pick up time, while dozens of patrons ordered and left. It does tend to get busy and they haven't been limiting the number of people inside, so if you are concerned, then place an online order to pick up in person or get it delivered through Uber Eats. FYI, they have the pick up area next to the cashier, so you don't have to wait in line. If your order isn't ready yet, you can wait inside or feel more comfortable waiting outside. read more

Generously filled, the meat was very tender, and they have a plethora of available toppings. If you want your burrito cut in half, just ask! We split the burrito because we also wanted chips and guacamole, and I was delighted at how much guacamole they give you. Other places give you a teeny bit and a large bag of chips, and this place actually seems to understand proportions and how much guacamole is appropriate. I also loaded up on the salsa verde from the salsa bar, and the medium salsa (which was pleasantly hot without being numbing). The food was delicious all around and very reasonably priced.
