If you think that vacuums aren't different or don't see the reason to spend more than $150 on a vacuum you should stop in and see Cindy and Floyd. We were shocked. They are very friendly and know just about everything to know about vacuums. They were very kind to explain the real differences between vacuums and what you are paying for. We have had our Miele for about 2 years now and I have to tell you it is a great vacuum. I have several friends who have purchased other high prices machines and they have needed servicing more than once since we bought ours and ours has no issues. We have 3 dogs and a cat and vacuum every day to keep pet hair down to a minimum. They have taken good care of us if we have questions or need more bags etc. I like them so much that I started buying supplies for my office from them. Local place and friendly. I am an engineer by training and tend to fix things myself. After fighting with our 10-year-old Meile for a week, I decided to take it to the pros. I had the luck that a technician was working and took a look at it right away. After 30-minutes and $75, I came away with a Meile working like new. My wife is now happy. Look, it's not the modern store you may expect today - but it IS 20+ years of experience in the vacuum and cleaning service industry instead of a high school kid (with all due respect) who is looking at the clock to leave. I've talked to the women who owns it several times and she's always given me solid advice, had the Miele bags and accessories that I was looking for at a fair price and took the time to explain what's new in the industry. I trust their advice - and frankly the truth is that most people bring in their third rate vacuums and expect them to perform like new - just not happening folks. Called regarding a broken switch on my Dyson, and rather than just tell me they don't repair Dysons, I got a lecture about how Dysons are terrible machines and that they do not work on any bagless vacuum cleaners. She went on to tell me that she did not know why anyone would buy them in the first place. A simple polite response that they do not repair my brand would've sufficed. read more

This place has had our Dyson for well over a month. We call requesting updates at least weekly. First it was in line to get fixed, then the Dyson technition had to come in, then nothing. No answers. When we went in we were told we could have a loaner that we would like better than our Dyson anyways and the technition is on their way. Still no vacuum. We are picking up today and returning the loaner that didn't pick up anything anyways. We've had a Dyson for years and had to do a repair once on year 9 of the machine when in Denver at a Dyson place and it was quick and easy! Closest to Austin is either Houston or Dallas boo! Hate to tell this story about a local owned business but i really happened. My vacuum cleaner was making a noise when I turned it on. A rattle of some sort. I took it in and told the older gentleman about it. A week later I went in and asked for it. The lady took it out and said they could not fix it. The older gentleman (Mr. Barron?) looked at it and said there was a bearing making that noise. Not worth to fix it. I suspected he did not look at it because he hesitated. They charged me $25.00 for looking at it. I took it home all depressed because I had to buy a new one. My housekeeper asked me to use it. I told him it had a bearing burned out. He turned it on. Then he asked me for a screwdriver. He opened it up and took out a ball point pen. No charge! It now runs beautifully and with no extra noise. I also received a discourse about Dyson Vacuum cleaners, how they are not worth buying from the older gentleman. I think Mr. Barron should retire. My housekeeper does a better job on vacuum cleaners. read more

Barron's Vacuum Center is a Mom and Pop outfit that did right by me rather than make money on the short run. I brought in two vacuums. One needed a belt and the other needed a thorough cleaning. He turned down the business for the second one saying it was not worth it. He could have serviced the machine and taken the money. I would have been none the wiser. He did not and I respect that. They are also very dog friendly. read more

My girlfriend bought a Miele online, and during shipping the foot pedal broke. We took it to Barron's Vacuum, and they replaced it in a timely fashion and mentioned that the vacuum was clogged so they cleaned it for no additional charge. We have two big dogs, so our vacuum got stopped up again, and we took it back to Barron's. And even though it took them two days to clean the vacuum (it was REALLY clogged), the cost was very reasonable. When we went to pick it up, Cindy took time to explain the options that our vacuum came with and how to maintain and clean it. If we ever need anything else for our vacuum, we will be going back to see Cindy and Floyd. They are so friendly and charming--and so knowledgable--that we definitely recommend coming to see them if you're having issues with a bagged vacuum (Cindy did mention that they don't work on bagless, and we can't blame her. read more

Brought our Miele here because it had no suction. We needed that checked out and a simple tune up. We were told it would take a week. After three weeks, we still didn't have the machine back. My husband finally called and told them that if they couldn't work on it we would come get it and take it someplace else. We were finally told it was ready, so we picked it up. We go to use the vacuum and there's still no suction. I can only think nobody at Barron's tested it. So I took it to ABC and Crystal found two clogs in 5 minutes that had to have been there before we took it to Barron's. Now it's working perfectly and ABC didn't charge me. Summation: 1. Barron's had the vacuum for 2 weeks longer than we were originally told; 2. the machine was clearly not repaired; and 3. we were obviously charged for absolutely no repairs or, at best, very badly done repairs. Needless to say, don't go to Barron's. It's a waste of time and money. I'm assuming it's incompetence and not a rip-off place. read more

My mom went here and was told it was her fault her vacuum didn't work was because she bought a vacuum that was not made in America. The owner went on to blame the entire country of China, as well as Dyson, for her husband's health issues. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I initially went in to get my Bissell Upright Lift-Off bagless vacuum serviced, but when they explained to me how cheaply made and how much dust those vacuums release into your home (whenever I turned it on, a plume of dust blew out, and the top of the vac. was always covered in dust), and demonstrated the Miele vacuum to me, I was sold. I don't mean to make it sound like Cindy and Floyd are just really good salespeople...they are genuine, and they know their vacuums. I never thought I'd spend $800 on a vacuum, but I have to say, over a year later, that my Miele Callisto Canister Vacuum has totally changed my life! One of the best investments I've ever made. The air in our home is cleaner, it breathes cleaner, and it even feels cleaner! Didn't think that was even possible. Such superb quality from the machine itself, all of the awesome attachments that I use like crazy, to the nice, thick bags that completely seal in dirt, pet dander and miniscule dust particles. I never thought I could LOVE a vacuum cleaner, but I do. And a word or two for those of you who are still using bagless vacuums....you are breathing a bunch of recycled filth! Exceptional service. Went in to fix a hoover; accomplished repair at a reasonable price. I have used Barron's the past 15 years and ALWAYS been pleased with pricing and service. This time, the Miele caught my eye, and Cindy's knowledge and expertise in this field is beyond any that I have seen in the last 20 years. Purchased the Miele Canister S8. I have never been more pleased with a purchase. Exceeded my expectations. Very well made !!!! Now for the kicker; you can go on line and purchase this same Miele for exactly the price Barron's sells it for. The tremendous benefit with Barron's Vacuum...Cindy will sit down and talk to you regarding your needs (carpet versus wood, dense rugs, allergies....) then she piece mills the exact vacuum you need. Cindy actually spent 3 1/2 hours over several days answering my questions and concerns. I received exactly what I needed. My sister actually has a Miele that is 20 years old. Had I listened to her years ago; I would not have been so frustrated vacuuming with cheaper brands and I could have saved a thousand dollars. All the inexpensive vacuums I have purchased in the past, added up to double the price of a Miele. If you have not been to Barron's, it is well worth the trip. I have been in here a couple of times shopping for a new vacuum. The place is a mess and dirty. For the price they are asking for these vacuums I expected it to be organized so I would able to look and test the vacuums. The saleslady was terrible at explaining the vacuums. I took my money to a competitor in Round Rock. I can not recommend this place. read more

We are not regular posters on Yelp. However, the customer service at Barron's was so awful we felt it important we warn others. Like many, we try hard to use local "ma & pa" shops as often as we can. We purchased our vacuum from Barron's with no problems. However, a year later and a faulty design sent us seeking repairs from Barron's. They kept our vacuum, without repairing if for over 2 months. We were patient, called about every other week and got the same run around answers. Nearing 8 weeks, we called to check on it again, received the same, "it's taking some time to get the part in," response. Upon hearing this we told her we would come by to pick up our vacuum. Her response was quite unprofessional and fairly ugly...this included her making a threat that our vacuum may not be in one piece when we come to pick it up. Thankfully it was in one piece when we arrived 30 minutes later. We took the same vacuum to a Miele dealer off of South Congress and we had our vacuum returned and in perfect working condition in ONE WEEK. Please, please take your business elsewhere to avoid bad customer service and a headache. read more
