Dr. Israel is a rare find. The quality and expertise of the office in general is better than 5/5. The level of service starts at the top and Dr. Israel goes above and beyond for his patients. My special needs son had a bolt fall out of his wheelchair and even though the office had closed by the time I called, Dr. Israel went back to see if he could find it and even searched through the parking lot. This 4th of July weekend, the back of one of my teeth broke off and he responded to my call immediately and and opened the office to take care of it so I could leave the next day on a family vacation. My extended family has used Dr. Israel for over 30 years and we have never had anything but the best treatment and quality of care. They really ensure every aspect of their practice is the best---making sure you are comfortable, taking the best course of action using modern technologies, and dealing with insurance companies. Patients are a priority, and Dr and staff are knowledgeable, professional, thorough, friendly, and courteous, so I'm totally and extremely ecstatic to provide a review sharing the amazing transformation in me due to Dr Israel's expertise and precision in Cosmetic Dentistry! For decades, although I took care of visiting the office for necessary dental procedures to insure dental health, I was extremely unhappy with the appearance of my natural teeth - their very dark uneven color, misalignment, uneven shape - and smiling was never the pleasant expression it should be! I would cringe at the thought of showing my teeth, feeling extremely self conscious, keeping my mouth closed in an unnatural way in photos and interaction with others, to avoid them being seen. It was my first time here, and I was pleasantly greeted as I walked in by Liz. She was very inviting and gave their office a great vibe. I was taken back right away even though I was 20 minutes early. The assistants who did my X-rays and scans were also very friendly and gave off a great vibe. The regular teeth cleanings are performed with care, and dental hygiene habits are discussed in a non-judgements way, and I credit the feedback and advice I've gotten from them for needing little more dental care than a couple filled cavities (possibly genetic anyhow), all but one with my baby teeth. Any work you need done that can't be done in house? You will be referred to a top-notch specialist, as I was for the removal of my wisdom teeth. My wife and I needed a good dentist we could trust. When I took my kids to thier regular dentist I thought I would ask him for a referal. He sent me to Dr Israel and told me that Dr Israel was HIS dentist. I figured where better to go then a dentist's dentist. Now I hadn't been to a dentist in over a decade and was freaked out about it. Dr Israel could not have been nicer to me. After an extensive cleaning with Christie, Dr Israel set out to fix my numerous issues. In something like 6 visits, think the most pain I felt was the novacain shots. He is very personable and easy to chat with and listen to. I'm done before I realize much of anything. The office is small and modestly decorated and I think the most people I've seen in there at one time was two in the waiting room and maybe one or two more in the back. It is definately NOT assembly line dentistry like I remember from my childhood (and the reason I haven't been in SOOOO long). The staff is great and Liz the receptionist is super sweet and fun to joke with while you wait. That said, if you are on time like you are supposed to be, you won't be waiting long. The longest I've waited for my chair was slightly over five minutes. Normally, I like the newest, hottest, cutting edge technology but in this case I'm 100% into the the good old fashioned care and treatment of Dr Israel and staff. The one down side is he does not do root canals. I was refered to another dentist about half a mile away. It was painless as well, but I would have prefered to keep all of my dental work in one location. Root canals aside, two BIG thumbs up for Dr Israel! read more

Who ever thought you could love going to the dentist? Dr. I is always friendly, as are all the other people working in his office, and the place is always nice and clean, but not too sterile-feeling like some doctors' offices tend to seem. There are nice touches like stars in the ceiling tiles to look up at when you're getting your teeth cleaned, and they often go way beyond the standard toothbrush when giving you freebies at the end of your visit -- I once walked away with a toothbrush, full tube of toothpaste, floss, Listerine breath strips and mouthwash! Parking used to be tough to come by in the building's lot, but I haven't had a problem finding a space in a long time. And a few years ago, when I did have trouble and parked on the street, Dr. I let me use his parking pass to park in the underground lot. Make sure to book well in advance -- you may have to wait 2-3 months to get an appointment -- or if you're flexible, just ask them to notify you whenever there's a cancellation and you may be in much sooner. Even though I haven't lived that close to Los Alamitos in a while, I won't go anywhere else. read more

Wow, thinking about it for this review, our family has been going to see Dr. Barry for about 13 years now. And you know what, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Barry is not only excellent at what he does, but he is a truly enjoyable person as well. In addition, all of his staff of hygienists are competent and friendly. Liz at the front desk is the pleasant cherry on top of this well run office. Barry has also been great with my two kids who at a very young age were never even for a moment frightened about their visits here. His office is not a cutesy kid friendly place with video games and such. But rather, his pleasant demeanor connected with my kids and they were on team Barry from the very first visit. Unless you expect free cappuccinos, massages or mani-pedis from your dentist's office, I really don't see how any other provider could be any better. Check out Dr. Barry. I have been seeing Dr. Barry since I was young and I now bring my children to him. He brought it to my attention that my daughter had giant tonsils and they needed to come out. It was affecting her breathing and her teeth were horribly crooked because of it. Her pediatrician missed it completely. Afterward he transformed her teeth with braces and she has a beautiful smile now. I even had Invisalign and my teeth are still straight almost 15 years later. Dr Israel goes above and beyond. I was in his office yesterday shaking and tearing up because I feared my Orthodontist screwed up my front two teeth by shaving them down too much and too square but Dr. Israel saved the day! He was kind and understanding. He drew me a picture of what he planned to do, told me to take a deep breath because it was an easy fix with his emery type tool. He went slow and let me hold the mirror so I could see he wasn't doing anything drastic. And to top it all off, he wouldn't even let me pay for it! I'm confused by Dick's review. I have been coming to see Dr. Israel for the last 17 years. I have never had any issues with Liz and the front office staff. She has always given me my costs up front and there was never any confusion. I want to add that Dr Israel saved my bite and my teeth. He went way beyond the call of duty to help repair damage done by another dentist. He even made an appointment for me with a specialist in Torrance and then met me there for the consultation. Like most folks, I am a total wimp when it comes to having dental work done. What makes Dr. Israel and his staff so wonderful is their amazingly positive attitude. They are the nicest people and Dr. Israel goes above and beyond to make his patients feel comfortorable. I am especially grateful to this dentist for helping me with my 12-year-old son's dental problems. My son has a rare genetic condition... he was born with no enamel leaving his teeth brittle and very yellow (no white at all). Imagine being in 7th grade with a mouth full of small yellow teeth. Dr. Israel took the time to research possible cosmetic solutions for my son so that he might be able to attend 8th grade next year, as well as high school with something that many of us take for granted -- white teeth!! Been coming to this office for years. Many many years. I'm so glad I found Dr. Israel & his staff. I have never had anything to complain about. Prices are reasonable and I don't feel like I've been ripped off. I actually started bringing my 2 young sons here after I felt that the pediatric dental group I was taking them to was adding unnecessary charges, or telling me about all the work they need done and leaving me to question the validity of this pediatric dental group(I won't make them because it's not important to me & not everyone will agree with me and I'm fine with that) or causing my kids to fear the dentist. I asked Dr Israel if he'd see my boys(they were young maybe 3 & 6). I can honestly say my boys love Dr Israel and all the staff. They've not had a whole lot of work done(probably because he's honest and can keep his patients instead of torturing and performing exams that are not needed). Oh and my kids have never had to be strapped down, drugged or gassed here. Sad to say that I did let them give my 6 year old gas & strap him down to clean his teeth. Dr. Israel may not have fancy play stations or fish tanks but at the end of our visit boys and I leave happy and they actually now(ages 12 & 16) refer people themselves to Dr. Israel. read more
