I stopped here for dining and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly, quick to take our order, and even gave prior recommendations. The restaurant has a cozy small-town style decoration that gives off a green, refreshing atmosphere. I ordered the Souvlaki lamb platter, which came with lamb kebab meat, pita bread, cucumber salad, chili pepper, onions, and half a tomato. Instead of rice, I asked for French fries, and everything was delicious I especially loved the cucumber salad and the lamp. To drink, I had an orange Snapple. The music was moderate, perfect to relax and enjoy a nice conversation. I also noticed that the tables are cleaned and set as soon as a customer leaves, which keeps the place very tidy. Overall, it's a nice spot with good food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. We went to It's Greek to me with a family of 11 and the restaurant didn't disappoint. The server was knowledgeable and was able to bring out the orders correctly without taking any notes. The large Greek salad was huge and fed about 5 people. The zucchini sticks were fresh and fried to order and the calamari was a good portion for the money. Hubby and I stopped by for lunch on Father's Day at around 2 pm (it was pretty much empty at that time) after another Greek spot we wanted to try was closed that day. It seems a little expensive for a local chain restaurant, but we went with it anyway (I saw a mixed grill pita on the menu for $40!). I had the gyro pita ($13) and he had the gyro platter ($28). I will say that I think the pita is worth it because they give you a lot of gyro in it, and it was a good sandwich. The gyro platter obviously has more meat, but it didn't look like that much more meat. The only additions are a grilled half of a tomato and half of a pepper, an extra pita, and French fries. The French fries are good - it has this lemony seasoning on it. You're better off just ordering the pita and a side of fries, which is what we'll do if we ever end up coming back. read more

3.5 STARS. Spent an impossibly long Saturday driving around NJ in hopes of finding a good auto deal by EOY (impossible but that in itself may call for other reviews). Aside from that, we wanted to grab some dinner before heading back into the city. These old stomping grounds of NJ made me feel slightly nostalgic and having been to the IGTM location in Fort Lee, we decided to stop at this location off Route 3. The service was just OK, one friendly waiter took our order and brought our food but another checked up on us and brought us the check hurriedly. I had the Greek Salad with chicken - the size of it was massive and while delicious, it was drenched in oil. The chicken was tasty, and well done, as I had asked. I'll say that the pita with the tzatziki was V yummy, but my husband's $32 tuna dish was just overpriced. The bill came close to $90 dollars, for one salad, one main course, one app, one desert and a cappuccino. I'm torn if the quality overall justified the price. Overall the ambience of the place was also just OK, but I didn't expect too much, as it's a super casual establishment. My stomach did hurt later on in the night but it might have just been me - and eating a larger meal before my IF eating window closed. Unsure I would give it another shot next time I find myself in Clifton. read more

We love Its Greek To Me and used to go to the one in Fort Lee all the time. First time trying the one in Clifton and don't think we'll be back. Sadly the fried zucchini and eggplant were super thick and soggy so we didn't eat most of it. the greek salad with gyro meet was good but still felt off with added things like green pepper and raw white onion instead of red onions. The price of the octopus appetizer was also pretty high for not many pieces of chopped up octopus leg, we used to get a nice big whole piece so it just wasn't what we were used too read more

Its Greek To Me was a really good experience for my date and myself. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the smell of authentic Greek food. My mouth was watering. We were quickly sat and the service was quick and efficient. We ordered a couple appetizers and a couple entrees and were more than satisfied by both. The spanakopita was light, flakey, and delicious. We also had the saganaki and that was amazing as well, though hard to cut into bite size portions. Moving on to the entrees, I got the lamb souvlaki platter. The lamb was tender and well seasoned but a bit overcooked for my medium request, the greek fries were delicious. My date had the gyro platter with a salad as a sub for the fries. The gyro meat was piled high, tender, and soo good. The food was great quality and large portion sizes. well, it was perfect dinner date here.. not much crowded ( of course due to Covid), it was outdoor dining, and first come, first serve. We had already decided what we wanna have. Grilled Lamb Chops ( With Greek Fries and Grilled Vegetables) - i had ordered well done and they did the job. Juicy, well done lamb chops - it was amazing. Fries were great too. my wife opted LAMB KOKKINISTO (slow cooked Lamb with tomato sauce and cinnamon) - well, she always wanted to try greek slow cooked lamb hearing rave reviews about it. The lamb was tender but taste wise we were disappointed here. It was more of a tomato flavor, no hint of cinnamon. but nevertheless, good dining. and its located in Clifton plaza, which is itself a beautiful area. evening breeze, outdoor dining (I always prefer outdoor) and beautiful location. Any fans of The Amazing Race out there?  Season 33, Episode 8 - the remaining teams travel to Thessaloniki, Greece - where they first need to create/wrap 60 dolmades and the next challenge is to spell "souvlaki" (then proceed to eat one). All of this left the family mighty hungry and the light-bulb went on, "Hey - you know where we haven't been in, like, a decade?" And now we're here.  (Much cheaper than trying to find an international flight to Greece, you understand.) Yes - we started with their dolmades (with a side of warm fresh super delicious pitas).  Tasty little vegetarian nibbles with a nice pop of lemon throughout... I thought if they were warmer/hotter they'd be just a wee bit better. My kids flaked out on getting a souvlaki with me and went with two different pizzas - the one was 'normal' (but my kid wasn't a fan of the Kasseri cheese) - the more adventurous twin tried the Horiatiki version (feta, olives) and he dug it.  Kinda. As soon as the Mrs. saw Branzino on the menu... I knew she was going to bail on the souvlaki as well.  Her platter was almost as big as the island of Syros.  She loved everything about her entrée except for the fact that more than a few pins (tiny bones) were a royal pain. That leaves me.  The lone Amazing Racer that stuck with the plan. I loved my chicken gyro - it was massive and tasted fresh and vibrant and the Tzatziki had a noticeable hint of heat on the backend which made the whole thing stand out. Friendly attentive staff (well, until the end when they totally seemed to forget about us). Clean restaurant. Pricing was... okay.  (For what my gyro cost - I would've also gotten a big side of fries at any Jersey diner.) This shopping center is always ridiculously packed so finding parking can be a chore. read more

Ordered 2 Souvlakis; one Chicken and one Lamb Each with Fries. Ehhh, I have had better. The pita was somewhat dry. All the white sauce only on the top with too many onions. Why not add some fresh cucumbers? Not worth $37. One and done for me. I should have gone into Mighty Quinns instead. read more

It's been a while since I been to this restaurant and was looking forward to getting some good Greek food. When I arrived we decided to order take out and a young lady took our order. I ordered the shrimp and orzo lunch special and my manager ordered a gyro salad. It came to anout $30. We sat outside and talked while we were waiting for the food. It took about 15 minutes and the waitress forgot to separate the bags. She seemed rushed but she was cool. When I dug in after we left it was just as I remembered, tasty. I will be back. read more

Bombing down Route 3 on our way home from the City -- we had a hankering for seafood. A Yelp steer sent us to a random strip mall in Clifton and a Joe's Crab Shack -- with earsplitting music and a 45 minute wait. Not. A few doors down was IGTM -- a quiet and mostly empty chain Greek joint that would do nicely -- and surprisingly -- served up an excellent seafood meal. We shared a grilled octopus appy and a bowl of lemon chicken soup. The soup was authentic and exactly as I had hoped -- thick and chock full of chicken, veggies and a nice lemony finish. The octopus was the BOMB! Who knew? Perfectly tender and served over thinly grated cucumber and onion -- lots of octopus -- almost a main course size for 18 bucks. Worth coming here for this dish alone. Sweetie ate the branzino over garlic mashed, and I had a large Greek salad with grilled shrimp. Should have had more octopus because the shrimp was kind of mushy -- not good -- but the salad was perfect. Sweeties branzino did not have that sweet flavored flesh like the best versions of this fish -- but she worked through most of it -- and the bones too. We gluttoned out with dessert (rice pudding and Galaktoboureko). The latter was really good -- crunchy phyllo dough stuffed with a ricotta like cheese. Not too sweet and a great contrast in textures. The rice pudding was -- well -- rice pudding. Our seafood Jones was sated so we left happy. A bit pricy overall ($65pp with tip) but hey -- not bad for a random choice and we sure did order a lot of food. I guess we were kinda hangry. Top Tip: Soups, salads and anything octopus is the real deal here. The gyros looked awesome on neighboring tables. Worth a return trip for octopus and some gyro meat. read more

Great for a quick gyro fix. The meat is well seasoned and delicious. My husband and I always get the gyro platter. It's about $28, but more than enough for 2 people with some left overs. The restaurant is definitely giving with their portions which is a plus and always keeps me coming back for that reason. The service is really great at the restaurant and the whole establishment is so clean- which I love. The waiters are attentive to our needs, come by and ask us what we need throughout the whole dining experience. At the end they waiter was kind enough to even pack our leftover for us. The spinach pie is crispy and definitely a great appetizer while you wait for you meal. I have been going here for years and definitely my go to gyro spot. read more

It's Greek To Me is located inside the Promenade Shops of Clifton and its centrally located near a great variety of stores. The restaurant was clean, social distancing enforced, and the service was right on point! We ordered a gyro pita with a side of lemon oregano fries, it was incredibly fresh and satisfying. The tzaziki sauce is one of my favorites. Not overwhelming and perfectly balanced. For a Friday-afternoon-late-lunch on valentine's weekend- I think this place did a great job in delivering an excellent meal. So this will be one of my shortest reviews! My wife and I had some Greek food a day prior and didn't have enough Tzatziki sauce. We were in the area and I figured why not get some here. Please note that this is during covid! They had 5 tables out front, 2 were in use. I went inside, placed my order of sauce. I paid my $10 and waited 5 minutes for them to bring it out to me... You literally take a spoon, and take it from the big pot, into a small container... Oh well. I was expecting it to be the 3 inch container after paying 10 for it, but I got the small 1 inch one. I didn't try anything else, and we may or not be back. The rest of the food looks interesting and much better priced. I was actually pretty disappointed in what I got. I was expecting this creamy goodness, and I got shredded cucumber salad lol! 80% cucumber, 20% dressing. It had good flavor, but I guess they are trying to cut back on costs, and cucumber is cheaper than Greek yogurt! read more

We only went here because my usual Greek spot was closed, and this will be my last time. The food was overpriced, over salted and just not worth it. We ordered 3 items, the gyro platter, a pretty large container so we expected the price would be worth it. The tray was filled more then halfway with fries! The gyro meat was salty, and it didn't even come with a salad, we had to order that separately. We also ordered a gyro sandwich. The tzatziki also not good, tasteless and mostly cucumber. Wow! Not only is it Greek to me but It's Great To Me. I splurged by deciding to go for the Branzino that came with a side of spinach sauteed with tomatoes and pieces of garlic. The food portions were huge and the fish was cooked just right! It was soft and fresh. It had a lot of flavor. The spinach also had flavor and was tasty. This is one of the best meals I have had at a restaurant with waiter service in my life. This is the best of Mediterranean cuisine I have experienced. Service was prompt and staff was attentive. They listened to what I would like to be omitted from dish and asked how everything was during my meal. I am definitely visiting this restaurant again! read more

Hello, I had called Thursday evening to inquire about catering some food or placing a large order for Saturday since we really enjoy your dishes. Sadly, one of your employees, a young lady, picked up & stated "we're not taking any orders at this time" & rudely hung up without hearing what I wanted to ask. So searched on Google and found Stamna in Bloomfield and placed my preorder with them instead. The owner there was very pleasant as I explained what I was interested in. Moral of story, educate your employees with customer service as now we will be ordering elsewhere. I'm sure this doesn't make a difference but it's unfortunate some of your staff members don't realize they're taking away from your business. read more

Good food but not authentic enough. Good for a fast go to spot. The plates are extremely large and the portions are for two people. No one could finish their portion . I got the gyro platter, nothing crazy and hummus , very bland and not enough olive oil in it . The Greek salad was good but big enough for a whole family to share. Among my favorite places for Greek food. This location in Clifton is one of the better ones among the 5-6 locations. Food is consistently good as is the service. My only bone to pick is the prices....yes they have good food and use quality ingredients but not to the point that dinner for 3 should be over $110.
