My hobbies? I don't know... is sweating a hobby ? Even those I was so sore after my yesterday's workout, I couldn't miss Ultraboost-inspired @Barry's Bootcamp Challenge with @adidas this evening. We laced up and sweat it all out . I like that Barry's always come up with some new collars with likeminded fitness brands (Lululemon, adidas and much more) to make your experience even more fun. It wasn't easy, it wasn't pretty. I wanted to scream, sometimes I wanted to cry, but I was surrounded by women who uplifted me. Their energy was contagious! Their die-hard dedication to the workout was inspiring! And this is why Barry's is a great workout for those who are looking for more than just come to a class, and run out. You will be welcome and encourage to stay after the class to chat and socialize. Hint: want to join uplifting fitness community of likeminded #adidaswomenkhggyiyih? Go to @barries and check out a custom #Ultraboost19 pop-up shop. Good shoes won't take you to a bad place. Also they have a shake/juice bar to boost your energy even after the workout. I tried their peanut butter, chocolate shake, called "skinny... (something, I'm not sure)". I won't say it was my favorite. But still it's a nice option to have a bite after a challenging class.

I live in Miami and Go yo Barry's Midtown all the time. So because I love Barry's so much, I decided to go to Barry's while vacationing in NYC. This was my third time going, I was not happy with it the first two times, so I decided to give it another try. The concept is the same but the pace, vibe, intensity, and music is very different, they never turn off the lights when you do the crazy sprints. That is Barry's 101. To be honest kind of lame. Don't get me wrong you still get a good workout but Miami Barry's is much more hardcore. I really did expect more from NYC. It was a waste of $36, it's even more expensive than Miami $30 per class. Never Again!!! 305 Barry's Kicks Ass!!!!

The trainers, the equipment, the results- everything was excellent The trainers are very knowledgeable. I had never done CrossFit before and, while I had done weight training, rowing and kettlebell classes elsewhere, I was able to learn and grow as an athlete. If there were movements that were too advanced for my skillset, the trainers were able to help modify some of the more advanced movements so that over time I could achieve the advanced movement safely and correctly. The gym itself is fantastic. They just gave the Tribeca space a complete makeover and its great atmosphere to workout in. All the equipment is well maintained and cleaned regularly. Its a very safe and amazing space to workout. And thanks to the previous two things, I got some amazing results with which I am incredibly pleased. I lost 6% body fat which initially I thought was going to be pretty darn impossible to accomplish. But, with the help of my trainers in class and the diet plan that they gave me, I was able to crush my goals. My clothes are loose. I can see my abdominal muscles for the first time ever. Plus I have received quite a bit of notice from coworkers about my slimmer and trimmer build. It's been a major win This program was so worth it. If you are looking to up your fitness goals, give Willy B CrossFit Bowery or Tribeca a try.

I was motivated and hopeful, especially due to prior positive crossfit experiences at other gyms and learned a big lesson about reading reviews first. To be clear: The 6 week challenge which is falsely advertised as free costs $632. If you lose 25 pounds they say you get your money back. Doing the math, this type of program endorses disordered exercise and eating. It's not healthy to lose that amount of weight in 6 weeks They exploit those that have unrealistic goals, financially. Personally, I am writing because I was supposed to start the 6 week challenge right before COVID and they continued to bill be throughout the gym closures. I explained that I would be willing to transfer the money I already paid into a regular membership following COVID and they refused. I called my credit card company since it is illegal to charge for a gym that is closed due to COVID. The credit card company advised to file a claim. They responded by calling collections. I am confident that the credit card company will handle this for me, but am sickened by these practices overall. Mostly, I am genuinely worried about the mental health of potential consumers in the future. The actual classes are extremely variable since the staff are not well trained. The staff themselves told me that they are not treated properly and that there are is little, inconsistent communication with management. It shows in the classes, and the workouts are not as effective as other crossfit programs I have done as a result.

It is a great HIIT workout that mixes in a great variety of muscle work/building too - would recommend you doing the one-week trial and giving it a shot. Although its a class format, but typically if you feel that you need to take a small break or even go a tad slower - that is A-Okay!!! Trust me I am completely out of shape and I can totally keep up. The class really promotes camaraderie and its of course if you feel like you can definitely slap hands! They take great COVID precautions by spraying down all the equipment in between classes, so definitely feel comfortable attending the class. I would say once the class starts, you might brush past folks to get to the next station, but everyone is checked to be vaccinated to participate! I feel very safe here and love the challenging workouts. It is worth the hefty price tag, but honestly, this is something that is actually worth the investment - in yourself! Give it a shot!

From outside, it may not look like much, but the door actually opens to several flights of stairs. The studio itself felt so cute and homey, with cubbies for your belongings, a coat rack, and a bathroom. I know I'm not athletic, but I really felt it here when I struggled just standing on the surfboard. The wobbling and instability was unlike any feeling ever, and will require some getting used to if you don't have good balance or hip mobility. Our instructor, Aaron, was the founder and a cool positive instructor. I loved that he took note of our names to give us shoutouts. But as soon as we started, his instructions were easier said than done, because I could not keep up for the life of me. I do wish there was slightly more personal attention or feedback throughout the class because he would constantly compliment everyone despite seeing me over there causing a ruckus. It took me the whole session to understand how the sensitive surfboard shifts according to my weight pressure. While the class was definitely not beginner friendly, even I was surprised by the improvement of everyone and myself by the end of the class. I truly think these tough exercises, if practiced frequently, will help us when surfing. This is probably the most challenging class I took so far, that it left me sore for days, but inspired to try actual surfing. If you're looking for a different type of workout class one day, check out Surfset!

There is no respect for employees, checks bounced, and the CEO gets a temper when he's hungry like a big baby. I dedicated myself and sacrificed for this job, only for them to have me unknowingly train someone (who had a husband already working there) that would soon basically replace me (without me knowing) and to stop scheduling me all together with no conversation as to why. There was no formal termination, they just stopped contacting me like a bunch of foolish kids. Months later, I went back to inquire about a CPR certificate THEY REQUIRED months before I stopped working there that they never gave me and could not even keep their story straight about why I couldn't get it (said there's invoices to be paid, while an accountant said there isn't), I was upset and told them they should do something about it since they required it. I then heard back about by behavior being unprofessional, when for months I didn't hear a peep when I kept asking about my job standing. Their behavior was disgusting and despicable, they could've had a formal convo with me but no, they just left me hanging and acted like I was the bad guy when in reality they weren't providing the bare minimum (proper communication, checks that didn't bounce, and a required certificate they made me do)! I don't even think there was a real HR there, it's also a waste of money if there's other gyms such as lifetime fitness where it's basically the same price (maybe even slightly cheaper) with wayyyyyyy much more to offer compared to a little gym that has limited equipment.

I'm not even demanding for excellent service; Just wanted enough to make its patrons feel that they are valued and respected. This negative review is pointed to one specific individual who works to maintain the cleanliness the La Palestra gym at 70 Pine Street.
