Pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed every part of our meal. We started with the trio of guac, salsa rojo, and salsa verde. The salsa verde was AMAZING! I could have just drank the salsa. The guac was solid. The salsa rojo was fine, but a little disappointing. I had three tacos, which was filling enough for me with the chips/salsa/guac to start. I had the falafel taco, chicken pastor taco, and crispy rock shrimp taco. The tortillas are nice and light. All of the taco fillings were flavorful and delicious. The tacos are all $2.50 or $3.50, which I think is fair. The cocktails were good, but a little on the pricey side. I had one of their winter seasonal drinks- sangria mojito, which was delicious but pretty small. I also had the hey miss dragonfly sangria which was also tasty. The ambiance is really nice, but it is a little loud. The service was great. Our service was so friendly, quick, and helpful. Two managers came to check on us during our meal. The food was amazing - the pork belly taco was the best thing I've eaten in months. I also had the duck taco, the shrimp taco and this month's "secret" maitake mushroom taco. All delicious. The churros were perfectly cooked and had a wonderful dark chocolate dipping sauce. The atmosphere was good, live music, the place was hopping and it seemed loud overall but I could still hear/talk to my friends. We had three people with different food restrictions and allergies and they accommodated well. The card to flag the waitstaff is a great idea, but no one explained it to us when we got there so we sat for a while waiting for someone to come take our order. And the drinks were on the weaker side. So, I took a star for those things but will definitely be back. read more

I frequent here 2-3 times a month! The bites are perfect for me.. The tacos, chips and salsa are delicious! The cocktails are libations perfection! The atmosphere is lively fun and friendly. The ice cream, which is all I've ever had. Is tasty and fun to share. My favorite server is Cordell. He will take great care of you and anticipate all of your needs. Previous review was 5 star but because I was obsessed with the tuna poke. It was the best I had ever had. They recently changed the menu. They are no longer using the previous sauce and now make some sauce in house and add pickles and seaweed salad and radishes. It's just not good I'm sorry. Won't be back. The tuna poke was the only reason I came in the first place. I hate when businesses ruin a great thing. Also, the chips are different. Not good. They taste stale. read more

Bartaco is one of my favorites. They are extremely consistent across all locations and you always know what you are going to get. We visited most recently this Saturday for lunch and had amazing service, as usual. At the Chastain Park location there is ample parking, but rarely any parking directly outside of the restaurant. Even though we went around 12 noon, there was no wait to be seated. The menu offerings are vast, with appetizers, bowls, tacos, sides and beverages. I have had many of the tacos on their menu, but some of my favorites include pork belly, carne asada, baja fish, rock shrimp and a new favorite of mine is this months secret taco, the chilli lime shrimp taco. I also love the elote dish, especially when I ask for it off the cobb. They have wonderful margaritas and overall this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city (and other cities as well). read more

Love love love love! I tried a duck taco during taste of Atlanta, and since then I have been determined to try more of their menu. I realized as I pulled up, that I had passed by this place so many times, but never thought to stop in. This location is right across the street from Johnny's hideaway and the car wash on Roswell Road. It's in a plaza, so there were a lot of parking spaces. I wouldn't risk parking in ones that are designated though, they may tow. The first thing I noticed was the decor. It put me in the mind of a comfortable beach house; the baskets as lampshades were a nice touch. When we sat down, our server came over and took a seat next to us to explain the menu and the card system. I like the idea of a card system because you aren't wasting time trying to flag someone down. Our server brought a carafe of water and tea and we both decided to try different items on the menu. The duck taco tasted different than what I remembered from Taste of Atlanta, but it was still good. I'm not a fan of rice, but the brown rice was very tasty. And if you go, you've gotta try the corn on the cob. My tastebuds were doing backflips. Overall, you'll get your money's worth at Bartaco and I would suggest bringing friends so you can try different things on the menu read more

I'd heard good things about this place, & it always seems to be busy, so I decided to give it a try. I met a friend here for a weekday lunch. Bad parking situations can be a pet peeve of mine & this had the potential to make me lose my mind. But I lucked out & snagged a good parking spot, while my friend had to circle the lot for 10 minutes before finding a space! The crowd is what you'd expect in this area of Buckhead, young professional, but casual & dressed down like you'd see at a college football tailgate party. Inside, Bartaco has a nautical theme that's altogether crisp, rustic, and casually elegant. It reminds me of a beach house, slightly eroded by humid, sea salt-laden air. They have indoor & outdoor seating, a large bar, booth seating, along with 2 - 4 top tables. It's good for groups & families. When looking at the menu, I noticed one of my favorite Mexican restaurant staples is missing - queso!!! They do have chips, salsa & guacamole, but to me it's an incomplete experience unless you have the trifecta. I base where to eat decisions alone on who has better queso or guac! Another letdown, they were out of...salsa!!! I mean, c'mon!! You're a Mexican restaurant, how do you not have one of your front-runners? Letdowns aside, the rest of the experience was pretty solid. The margaritas are good & the taco options are both classic & inventive. My favorite item was a side item - the grilled corn on the cob with lime, cayenne & cotija cheese. I found myself wanting to make this at home! I've now checked this box... I may try another location before I go back to the one with no salsa! read more

Bar taco itself is amazing in terms of the food and the drinks. The service at this location if you're NOT at the bar is not the best. I'm a past server so I'm more patient with servers than most, but this is a place where you write down your own order then they read it back to you, how could you possibly mess up three times in a row? Tacos are decent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice with live music. The staffs are nice and attentive. It's a nice spot to hang out with friends. I recommend the following tacos: baja fish, roasted duck, glazed pork belly, and crispy rock shrimp. The glazed pork belly taco was not as tender as I would like but it is well seasoned. The roasted duck tacos was delicious the first time we had it, but the second time we ordered this taco, it was a bit salty. I highly recommend that you save room for the churros with chocolate sauce dessert. I do not recommend the portobello taco because it was very salty. Cute patio! Socially distant seating inside and outside. Tacos are tiny but they're 2.50 and 3.50 so I like it because you can try a lot of different ones! Chips aren't served at the table. Good margaritas but they're small. The Mexican elote corn is awesome. You can request it off the Cob which is what I always do. They have a lot of vegetarian taco options too! And you can get your taco in a lettuce wrap instead of a tortilla. Be sure to ask what the secret taco is! They always have one that's off menu. read more

My friends and I had a horrible experience at Bartaco Chastain. The staff was horribly rude. The bartender, a young man with blonde hair, Carlos I believe, ignored our party and was socializing with his friends. When we asked for service he got his general manager Brandon O'Donnell to come over and asked us to leave. Brandon was very unprofessional and needs training on how to treat customers. I have never been treated with such disrespect and will never go back there again. There are so many choices of restaurants in Atlanta so please don't waste your time coming here. read more

Had been hearing great things about this place for awhile now and wanted to try it out for lunch with my coworkers. I placed our orders online and when I had arrived this corner restaurant looks as though you are walking in to another country with its woodsy/greenery decor and atmosphere. The staff there were very friendly and pointed me in the location I needed to be to pickup my order. The takeout employee handed me my food as soon as I told her my name. The food was very good especially their tacos which were a bit tiny for my taste with me only wanting more. A. MUST. EAT. Bartaco is an Atlanta gem that we tried for the first time last night. The atmosphere is great, decor is attractive and new, bathrooms are really nice and the service is top notch. The drinks are fresh and delicious (watched the bartender juice the limes that went into my margarita) and the food is amazing. All food is tapas sized, so be prepared to pick a couple things to try for each person. We started with the salsa trio and the guacamole was the overwhelming favorite. They were all very flavorful. Our kids had tacos, quesadillas, broccoli, corn and fruit. It was tasty, delicious, healthy and quick to the table. Hubby and I had tacos: Baja fish, pork belly, duck, pork carnitas, chicken pastor and carne asada. The pork belly was my personal favorite, but I would order all of them again. Our waitress Berenice was amazing. If you go and can request her, do. She's friendly, knowledgeable, quick and observant. I went to Bartaco last night with my parents and it was a great experience. We are very cautious about covid, but my parents were passing through town and we wanted to go out for an early birthday dinner. It had rained all day, but they wiped the outside tables, set up heaters, and put the cover on in case it rained again so we could sit outside. They have great covid precautions with digital order/pay.. plus it helps with order accuracy. All of our food was great. We got the chips and gauc/salsa, and I got the mojo pork carnitas, roasted duck tacos, and a margarita. We also got churros for dessert. The tacos were especially good! My mom is pretty picky, and she enjoyed everything. Now, you just need a queso dish on the menu and all will be complete! Service was super fast and friendly. Thanks for a great evening! read more

Our friend recommended this place so we tried for the first time and liked it a lot. We sat outside since it was such a nice and comfortable night. Guacamole and salsa with chips were very fresh! We ordered different kind of tacos and we liked everything we got. I really liked my cauliflower taco. My husband liked his duck taco the most. Everything seemed fresh and tasty but we had to wait for a long time for our tacos. I was craving for some sweets so had mint chips gelato but it wasn't as good as I expected. The chicken and sesame ribeye tacos were tasty enough, but probably not what I would order again. The elote (Mexican style corn) you can special request off the cob. It was a bit spicier than I am accustomed to. Nice environment and good service, expect dim lights and loud music. You order by filling out a sheet of paper and all of the food will all come out family style, so if you're in a large group be sure to remember your order so you're prepared to divide it up. Don't know how I missed reviewing this place when I visited here the first time! It is actually a great place to hang out. Ambiance, drinks, music, and food (light weight) are really good. Not sure whether I would recommend it was a go-to dinner place if you're really hungry as you will end up ordering a lot of portions as the quantity is too small, but it's perfect for late dinner or after-party snacking. My coworkers and I decided to come here for drinks after work, yeah, and a taco or seven...Lol. We came on a Friday night and they were slammed! They offered us seats at the bar, no wait. The bartender was fast to come to is, and even placed our food quickly. Their tacos are delicious as well as their sides and quac. We were able to be seated, order, enjoy our time then pay, while others were still waiting to be seated. If you come on a busy day, be prepared to share your personal space bubble. First time at a Bartaco. Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Adored the outdoor patio with a fireplace and cute stringed lights over the tables. One thing that bugged us a little was there were a lot of flys (pun intended haha). I know we were outside with food, but there were enough to be noteworthy. Also, a glass was broken and the area wasn't cleaned well. The area wasn't swept. My husband actually picked up a few pieces of glass, to prevent other guests being seated from stepping on them. Moving on ;) The food was delicious! Love the healthier option of a lettuce taco for .25 extra. Also love the option of getting the corn off the cob! Genius! The guac was awesome! I really liked Bartaco. The food and atmosphere were great. However I didn't love the system for ordering or paying. Very untraditional. We did have an issue with payment, another tab was put on my card. This is due to the system they use. I called the next day, and the manager was friendly and helpful. Everything was made right. I've been wanting to try this place out for a few months now and I'm not sure why I waited so long! Everything was perfect. I really like the feel of the restaurant. It's very trendy. Good for socializing or a girls/boys night out. There was also children there as well. The way you order your food and how they serve you is superb! Our server was very attentive. She explained to us on how to order and what comes in which tacos because it was our first time. But there's a little sheet were you mark down which tacos, etc. you want and then you put it on the stand. If you need service there's a card for you to put on the stand as well. My sister and I tried so many tacos, but we both really enjoyed the fried oyster, pork belly. She also liked the mahi mahi and I liked the ribeye steak. The chips and salsa were good. The corn with the mayo, cheese and peppers is delish also Overall, we loved our experience! It was a first for us, but we definitely will be back. I love everything about this place. We came to Bartaco last night for drinks and food and we were super impressed! Right when you walk in the ambience is casual and cozy with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar. We ordered all of the appetizers off the menu and we loved all of them! The chicken empanadas were so flavorful. My favorite was the corn fritters that were filled with gooey cheese! So delicious! I've been here once before and loved the food and margaritas, so I wanted to bring a small group back for dinner before a Chastain concert. The website offers a "jump the list" option for call-ahead priority seating, so we called 30 minutes before our arrival, knowing they'd be busy on a Friday. Once we arrived, the hostess checked us in, and when I asked how long the wait would be from that point, she said that we were quoted 45-60 minutes (we weren't quoted a time at all), so that's what it would be. In other words, we were on the list only as of the time of check-in, the wait list is completely meaningless, and the website is wrong. I was embarrassed and our group had to pile back in the car and go elsewhere. Either honor the policy on your site or take it down. Disappointing. read more

I've been here a few times but this was the first time at peek dinner. We were quickly greeted and they took our name and phone number and would text us when we were ready. They actually also included a link where you could check your place in line which is convenient. We started at 22nd in line and it took about 30 minutes to get a table. We quickly ordered their chips and salsa and myself a sangria. Once we ordered our tacos it took only a few minutes to get our chips and salsa. Then about 10 minutes later we got our cheese quesadillas (which are DELICIOUS. Small size but delicious none the less) and about 5 minutes after that we got our dinner. I still hadn't received my sangria but as our server sets the tacos down the bartender comes up with my drink. Tacos: Delicious. I went a bit more out of my comfort zone this time with Mahi Mahi, Fried Oyster, and Sesame Ribeye. Sangria: Unique. It has a splash of soda water and it's noticeable but I enjoyed it. Dessert: I saw gelato cones going around so I got the chocolate. Very rich and delicious. Atmosphere: Busy and crowded. Inside was pretty loud but the bar had no empty seats and several people standing around it. There were also A LOT of group parties there this evening. I wish we could have sat outside but we requested first available. Parking: Slightly confusing. We drove through the parking lot between Bartaco and the bank and noticed the sign for $5 parking. Which I guess is because of The Ivy across the street but we drove and parked in the back corner by Fox's and didn't have any issues. read more
