We totally enjoyed our food and the service from the girls but will never come back here. I have been coming to Damburger since I was a child -- probably about 20 years -- and I have to say, I can never get enough of it! Damburger is an institution in Redding, CA. It dates back to 1938 and has been serving up the best burgers since Shasta Dam began its construction, hence the name. The inside probably hasn't changed in just about as long, and has a comforting old school burger joint/diner kind of vibe. My favorite place to sit is right at the counter where you can see all the action and chat with the owners who are often around. In my opinion its simple yet addictive thin patty burgers rival even In N Out. I always get a single dam with "The Works" and it never disappoints. Flavorful, crispy, quality, iconic. Damburger is one of the most consistent restaurants around, and personally I love that the menu never really changes. I pair the single dam with some fries, sriracha sauce, and if I'm really feeling crazy -- a malted vanilla milkshake, which is my dad's favorite. Even though I don't live in Redding, I make it a point to come to Dambuger at least once, but usually twice, in every trip. If you're visiting, this is a MUST go, can't skip restaurant. Ordered 3 burgers, two helens and a double helen for pick up. After getting home and inspecting the food, all three burger were completely raw. I've never had such horrible service. How in gods name do you serve not one, not two, but three completely raw burgers?? I wish I could say this was some sort of sick joke, but this is just classless and disgusting. The patties werent even browned on the outside, they were barely grey, like they only hit the grill for less than 10 seconds and then got thrown onto a bun. Absolutely sickening. Went to Dam Burger last night for dinner. That's a weird place. I felt like I was stepping into a different world. The place looks the same as I imagine it did almost 90 years ago, but the people all looked alike but different. It was really weird. They all had the same color hair and the same color clothes from head to toe (uniform?). The only thing that set them all apart was different body types. And this one person kept staring at me. Tall Rude Waitress: "It's on the menu" Taking the rest of our order was uncomfortable to say the least; she clearly does not want to work there. This was my best friend's and my first time here and will not be back. Pipeline down the street has better food, better ambience, and employs people who are not rude to the customers. What a find in downtown Redding! We were looking for Summer Nights at the Park which wasn't open so this place struck us as a fitting replacement. It reminds me of the hamburger spots from my youth and the location is outstanding right near some hot spots. Entering I noticed it was full, the customers were all smiling and the atmosphere was welcoming. We were greeted promptly and our questions answered. We both chose the double Hot Dams and I highly recommend it. The burgers were perfectly cooked, cheese fresh and condiments well matched. We got out for twenty bucks for two doubles with fries, matching up to where we are from we could have purchased a single with bacon for the same. We love this place. It was our first time here, we were just traveling through. It is such a cute place, it reminds me of old burger places back in the day (80's). The burger wasn't greasy, it had a great flavour, even the original (1/6 lb) was plenty for me. My husband ordered the double and that was enough meat for him. The four of us loved the French fries so much, we got another order to share. The service was fast. We only sat at a table for about 2 minutes and someone came by to take our order. Then about a minute later, another person asked us if we would like to order. They are friendly here and the place is very clean. We enjoy a burger night a few times a month during warm weather. We found this online and went here because the prices were good and they had different flavor shakes. We came on a Saturday night (they're closed Sunday and Monday) and our was not busy at all. There were 12 of us in the group and we took up the whole inside. It's not a big place at all. Parking was easy. It seems the locals like to come here. I ordered a double burger combo from a friendly waitress and it was ready in few short minutes. My burger was well done but wasn't dry or burnt. It had a good flavor, nice soft bun, cheese, and some tasty grilled pinions. It wasn't fancy, but it really didn't need to be. It stood on it's own legs without anything like pickled onions, garlic aioli, or pretzel buns. My fries were cooked perfectly and had a hint golden brown color to them. I was so excited to eat at damBurgers after hearing their reputation for a good tasting simple burger . The burger overall was fairly good reminded me of bartels and the fries were meh. I would have loved to give it 4 stars but the works were not very welcoming , seemed frustrated and tired . The one girl with blonde hair on the other hand was super helpful , nice and had great customer service . A simple burger for a road trip on I-5. After 5+ hours on the road, this little hole in the wall really hit the spot. I got the Damburger with no onions, so only lettuce and mustard inside. The patty was very thin and flavorful! The burger bun is very similar to In-N-Out's style of bread. The fries are a similar style to McDonald's, but I personally think Damburger's are better. They are very lightly salted, so if you prefer salty fries, you should ask for more. The staff was really friendly and made sure all customers were social distancing outside. I took my wife and kids here and we loved it. Pretty small burger but also not too pricey. I definitely recommend getting your burger with "the works" which adds a nice kick of flavor.
