The one, and the only full service grocery store in Gold Canyon. Though it may be your only grocery option, I do really enjoy this location. I find it has a better selection of items versus my usual Bashas' on Crismon in Mesa. They even have a beautiful array of flowers that I enjoyed the floral fragrance. Did someone say stop to smell the roses? Don't mind if I do! Overall, this location has plenty of parking, great food selection, and wonderful service. Check it out if in the area. read more

We're done shopping at Bashas! Too many empty shelves, terrible shopping app, confusing and very restrictive coupons, poor quality produce and staff members that usually don't look very happy (a few of their personnel are good). Frys on the Trail is 5 minutes farther but well worth the trip. It's always busy but they have plentiful stock, great produce and coupons as well as tons of staff walking around in case you need help. We've lived in Gold Canyon 25 years and my last visit to Bashas was today when I just needed some limes, but not to my surprise that section in the Bashas produce area was completely EMPTY! So I drove the extra 5 minutes to Frys and they were very busy as they typically always are, but they had tons of limes and they were on sale. I had trouble finding my Frys shopping ID on their app but quickly found a very friendly staff member that helped me locate it and then immediately checked me out on a no wait checkout stand. Outstanding, and I'll deal with the extra drive and crowds from now on just to get a better shopping experience. read more

I have completely boycotted the Gold Canyon Bashas. I now shop at Aldi at Signal Butte and Elliot. Produce is amazing and no mold EVER. Gold Canyon Bashas just gives me the creeps. Many of the cans in the shelves are already expired or about to be expired. The inventory obviously does not turn over fast enough. Visit Aldi and you'll be so happy with the prices and quality. read more

Nice little community store, always clean. On the pricey side, but as we all know, you pay for convenience. The only thing I would suggest is they stop watering their produce as much as they do, I know they think it keeps it fresh but they overdo it, they are not my go to for fresh vegetables. read more

Old fashioned looking Basha's yet clean with pleasant staff. I needed a snack after loads of walking. I decided on their homemade turkey chili. The chili was decent and I happily gobbled it up while we relaxed in their seating area. Shared parking lot and WiFi. read more

Being the only game in town, I have wanted to like this place but I just can't. It feels like they know they're the only game in town and they can get away with things that with competition they wouldn't. My primary complaint is the produce area, which constantly has rotting fruits and vegetables. The fact that they don't take them off the shelf says a lot about them. The store caters to the Snow Birds and totally snubs the people that permanently live in Gold Canyon. The prices go sky high and nothing is ever in stock on their shelves. Passing through the township of Gold Canyon & we needed to make a market run. A little nostalgic feeling as I haven't been in a Bashas since the mid-'80s. I was actually surprised to see a Sushi Station hence my review. The sole Sushi Chef kept his quaint & shared space with the Pizza station, very tidy. Oppose to pre-made rolls & such hanging out in the display, he was welcoming freshly made orders...I got Inari to hold me over. Very good fast & welcoming customer service. On another note, although it was only a couple of Vegan/Veggie products throughout the store, I applaud the progression. read more

I've never had such a experience there like I did tonight. The manager , a nasty troll of a person, closed the store at 955 . So as I walk up in a hurry only needing milk , I was met at the door by who she said was the manager, getting yelled at "WERE CLOSED". I said it's 5 till. WERE CLOSED. " IVE BEEN CLOSING AT 957 FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS! OK but its 955. And it went on. Zero professionalism. Swearing, dropping f bombs. Have used Instacart for almost 4 years. Went into Bashas for first time today, was attempting to purchase $97.00 worth of groceries. Self check was the only aisle open with no assistance available. Had challenges scanning certain items, long long line waiting. Then would not accept my credit card (only because there was not enough room to scan the card properly. I ended up leaving all the groceries and will not be back! We need more choices in Gold canyon! read more

I do somewhat like Bashas. The customer service is great. But some of their food is not the greatest quality....I am specifically bothered by their available brands of eggs. I have requested Vital Farms eggs, but they did not honor my request. I need at least an 18 pack of eggs a week. It seems no matter what brand of eggs I have bought from this store they have turned out to be total crap. If you try to make hard boiled eggs and some of them are floating, the eggs are no good. I threw 2 of them in the garbage today for that exact reason. You can't even carefully crack an egg into a skillet without the yoke breaking and they are tasteless. In addition, I am not willing to go to two separate grocery stores to do weekly grocery shopping. If I have to drive to Fry's or Sprouts in Mesa to get decent eggs, I'm buying all of my groceries there and driving right past Bashas on my way home. Bashas is just a few minutes from my house and I'm spending hundreds of dollars a week in Mesa. Oh well. read more

This is very conveniently located for those that live in Gold Canyon. The staff is friendly. Has all the items one would expect from a grocery store. It is pricier than Fry's in AJ. Lost a star for below average produce quality (got to Fry's or the Ranch Farmers Market in Apache Junction for that). Also loses a star for putting the employee smoking area at the entrance to the store - gross. It would be wonderful if that could be moved to the back of the building. read more

Bashas here is good if you are looking for general food & it's a small Supermarket so you can get in and out quickly. The people that work their are very friendly & always will to help you which is great. I'm giving it a 4 star bc some of their items are over priced & they don't always have the sale items in stock. read more

Only grocery store in Gold Canyon. Very overpriced. We bought some ground beef and it tasted like saw dust. The pharmacy...good luck contacting them. I stopped in for a donut. I got two HUGE pieces of in the deli too. Fire oven baked greatness!!! 5.00 Yum!!!! I like this store, they are really nice here. The eating area needed a bit of cleaning. Ugh - the layout here is confusing and a bit random and some of the employees make it painfully clear that they do not like helping people. They also have those weird short belts at the checkout which seem like they jam up the line as people try to unload their carts. The location is convenient, but I think that the Frye's in AJ is a better place to do a major shop. read more

Stopped this morning to pickup a melon, so found a bin with a mixture of Cantaloupes and Honeydews. The price was posted on the side of the bin at 2lbs/$1, so I picked up one of each. When I checked out , the bill seemed excessive, so I questioned it. The price for the Honeydew was different, $1/lb, so I elected to not take it. I didn't understand the pricing since the price was posted on the bin, so I did a little more checking. What I found, appears to me, to verge on deceptive. The only way you can see that the Honeydew price is different is to go to the other side of the bin, where you will find a different label posted back in a corner of the bin that you won't see if you're not looking for it. I would give it no stars if I could. Four days ago (8/14) I purchased a 2 lb bag of baby carrots. I buy these for my dog. Anyway I opened them today and they seemed slimey so I put them in a colander to rinse them. Some of them were so rotten that the stream of water from the faucet disintegrated them. Wow! I then checked the bag for a date. Guess what? The use by date was 8/5/22. That was 9 days before I bought them. I shop at Bashas at times because it is close to home, but from now on I will be checking the dates on everything I buy there. read more

The primary reason I decided to review the Bashas by my house is the pharmacy staff. While I always run in this location for stuff, I have never used the pharmacy until I just got new insurance and this was the only place in 20 miles I could go. I usually hate pharmacies. They are usually busy, have poor service, and take forever to get stuff done. This is not the case here. They were super friendly. Got my transfers done the same day! This is practically unheard of at other local pharmacies. They were amazing. The bakery is always great here, they actually have awesome donuts (If you go after 8 pm they box them up at half price). They usually have enough registers open that the wait is reasonable. Produce is fresh, shelves well stocked, etc. Glad to have such an awesome grocery store close to home! read more

I've lived in GC for nearly 12 years and we shop here several times a month. Always clean, always good customer service & has the essentials needed. We do have to go to other stores for our main shopping but I appreciate Bashas being so close by. I love their deli, the bakery is superb and the addition of the coffee shop is wonderful! We received an order recently and it was a huge mess... ordered 3 types of fruit that were overly ripe and barely edible. We ordered steaks and got 1. Who the hell orders 1 small steak!?! Best I can give is one sad little star over Bashas early opening for seniors to shop because of the current Coronavirus upheaval. This store had 5am opening for over 65 only so some people showed up at 4am and stood in line only to have Bashas change which door was going to be utilized resulting to say the least a mess. Disorganization was an understatement. Once inside throughout the store shelves were empty indicating that there was little or no overnight stocking. Generally people were looking for toilet paper, paper towels, eggs and water all of which was in short supply or not stocked when the doors opened. Left Bashas went to Frys in Apache Junction stood in line for 30 minutes. Line was organized with police officer assisting Frys staff when door opened. Frys was fully stocked. Just saying not sure what Bashas was thinking. read more

I work right next door, so this store is very convenient. Always clean, well stocked and employees are nice. The only downfall is the deli area is extremely slow. I have waited upwards of 20 mins for a sandwich to be made before , and it was extremely frustrating. Sometimes I would stand there for 10-15 mins before someone would even aknowledge me. I understand during the season, we are all busy but I feel like if they cannot effectively help customers, they need to have more staff on hand. Other than that everything else is great! Love my favorite Veggie sandwich (which is why I literally will wait for it haha) and love the chicken salad. read more
