My husband and I haven't been to Oldies since the new owners have taken over. We walked in mid afternoon on a Thursday and Ethan greeted us. I had been craving a banana split, had a very LONG day at work, and my husband humored me. As we all know prices of everything have gone up, this was a LOT of bang for buck so to speak. The ice cream was rich and decadent, everything I had been hoping for and more. Ethan was a delight and patient as crucial decisions on ice cream selection were made. Honestly, I may treat myself to a banana split once or twice a year, that being said, we WILL be back for scoops of ice cream, perhaps milkshakes, etc. we love supporting local businesses, and what a treat to have Oldies right in town. If you haven't given Oldies a try since the change in ownership, give em a chance, I don't think they will disappoint. Till we meet again Oldies! read more

For my 500th review on Yelp, I wanted something sweet to celebrate this occasion! Oldies is a location I went years ago when it first opened (pre Covid), but haven't made my way back to try again as I am rarely in the Gold Canyon area. I'm so glad I suggested this to my cousin as a middle of the week sweet treat. This location is a retro style ice cream shop, which is super cute for a date night, treat for the kids, meet up with a friend, etc. We easily saw over five different groups walk in matching the varieties I just listed in the brief 30 minutes we were seated. Such affordable prices that I can see this being a hit when the 2nd location opens later this year closer to my house (Apache Junction). The cutest little place tucked away in a shopping plaza, and they serve Blue Bell ice cream!! The single scoop was probably about 2-3 times the size of a typical ice cream cone, so great value. The two guys working there were so fun and friendly. Great little find! read more

So fun! They offer a nice variety of Bluebell ice cream. We usually like to sit outside at restaurants, but the inside of this place is so fun that we wanted to stay inside. Old-fashioned counter and high top tables. Many delicious-looking dipped cones (I didn't have one). The scoops sizes are very big. I ordered a kids come and it was just the right size. Service was on point we enjoyed every bite of our sweet treats. This is a great location! I had the butter pecan ice cream in a chocolate nut dipped waffle bowl and my friend had a chocolate chunk ice cream in a nut chocolate dipped waffle cone. Blue bell ice cream is served here with lots of different flavor options. They also serve hot dog meal ($6.95) and have a bar for the toppings for a savory fix. Such a cute little old fashion ice cream shops from the checkered floor up to the bar stools up to the cute little straw holders. Their hours are a little bit funky but totally worth it.
