I've heard so many bad things about this place, but I disagree. I went last night just before 7 pm when it wasn't too busy, and I found it easy enough to navigate. I was looking for kombucha (you'll see me mention this a lot in reviews, sorry, but it's my substitute until I get used to not drinking soda or alcohol), and I did go on a bit of a circuit before finding the location. There was none on the shelf, but an associate checked in the back and found some for me before stocking the shelf. The store is dingy in the way stores are when they're old, but it's clean. The shelves are appropriately faced and full, and the aisles are spacious. Good ambiance--lots of families shopping, and a pleasant overall community vibe. Pricey, but like other grocery chains where you're better shopping deals and having membership cards. Could use a wider selection of kombucha though. :( read more

It's mediocre at best. I remember during Covid that we could shop here when other major stores were out of stock on certain things you need in the bathroom. Staff is nice and most of the area is actually ok. Food is decent but again, not out of this world It's just that it seems like it's behind compared to the other stores around Maricopa. At least they are unique with the parking area. Makes the summers only 105 degrees instead of 107 when you are putting groceries into your car. read more

I don't know where to shop groceries anymore. I really felt singled out and treated rude by the cashier today. I've never been treated this way here. Cashier said I couldn't run credit on my card that I forgot my pin for. So I said give me 2 min and I'll transfer my money to another card. Literally only 2 min. The moment my transfer was done, she cancelled my transaction out and sent me over to customer service to finish out transaction. It was super rude how she handled it. Right in front of people behind me too. Honestly if I see her again, I will turn around and leave your store. Shes the type of person that probably treats less fortunate people like lessor human beings. It honestly wasn't going to take long. Don't know her name but possibly 50's to 60 with white crimped hair. My receipt says Dean Schultz but she handed me over to him at customer service desk. Dean took care of me quickly and professional. However Dean did not express any thought or care to consideration that I thought she was rude. No apologies or empathy. He just went on with his business and did his job. I would say he probably was trying not to escalate the issue by just keeping his mouth shut. Hope you figure out which lady it was. Every time their 80/20 ground beef goes in sale its always priced wrong on the package. Every SINGLE time. It does not ring up correctly either so I have to have the cashier fix it. It also goes bad within 2 days of purchase. I bought meat on Wednesday with a SELL by date of 1/4, it was already rotten by 1/3. I decided to weight it for fun and each package was short almost a lb. One pkg weight was 2.38 and it weight 1.2lb the other was 2.59 pkg weight it it weighed 1.7 lbs. I will be reporting this to whomever oversees this in the government I think it's FSIS. Worst pharmacy ever super rude staff food is ok selection wise but back to the pharmacy. They just suck and I caught the video on Facebook live and shared the rudeness of the staff. Unfriendly and poor service they didn't even bill correctly to my insurance I just paid cash. The gal got upset when I got upset after she told me the pharmacist didn't want me there. In my opinion the pharmacist and his rude female staff were slightly racist. What has happened to the cheese choices? Kroger cheese does not melt! I repeat Kroger cheese does not melt! Only in a hot oven. There are too many ingredients in this cheese. Cheese suppose to be milk, salt & culture. What is that other stuff in it? Plastic? Bring back the name brand cheese Tillimook, Kraft, Sargento, horizon! I have come to the store a couple of times. Only out of desperation. This is one of the worst stores I have ever encountered. It's not very clean and looks run down, it definitely needs a refresh. Every time I go to the meat department a lot of the meat looks gray and expired but it's still on the shelves. They are never fully stocked. The produce section is okay A lot of the protest looks like it was the last product to come off the delivery truck. They do have a good selection of jalapeños and chiles. Not too many stores carry the red Fresno chiles. I did notice they have some products from their Food City chain. 4 stars today for only having one checkout lane open. Today we went for donuts for breakfast. Everything looked so good I didn't know which ones to choose. There were a lot of empty spaces so I was just assuming lots of people were in buying donuts that morning until I was walking by the register in the bakery and saw a huge rack of donuts waiting to be put out. But the person whom Im assuming was supposed to be doing that was just standing there chitchatting with someone. I also was wanting to check out there so I wouldn't have to go up front to check out but again the guy was too busy chitchatting to notice me. I don't shop at Bashas' that often as their prices are a little high, and now they don't even send the flyers out in the mail anymore but I did see one at the service desk and grabbed one. Every time I go to this Bashas I get ripped off. Even though I use my member card I seldom actually receive the "sale" price. (which is still much higher than the regular price at Fry's and Walmart) - They will tell me "Oh I guess that product was never entered into our system with the sale price" or some such nonsense. This has been going on since 2008 when I first moved to Maricopa. The store often smells and the floor is always dirty. Manager is nowhere to be found, ever. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

I like the layout. This is one of my favorite grocery stores, however price wise I have been choosing the alternative in town. I am usually impressed by the produce here however there is never a great floral selection. Usually I find the items in stock here and I find the store organized. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the cakes actually tasted good. I had worked with multiple people over 2 weeks discussing what I needed for 2 special events & I was concerned because I was coming from out of state. I sent multiple pictures and they told me which they could do and assured me they'd be perfect! I ordered a cake that was peach & cream colored with gold and I got neon pink & neon green! Then another was black & gold and was supposed to have gold macaroons (which they charged me extra for) but the cake looked green & yellow and no macaroons, totally plain! I have multiple emails back and forth with they're corporate office & they're design trainer etc.. nothing but a bunch of lies! Went to the store today because they have a big sale on chickens. Buy 1 and get 2 free. There were no limit signs anywhere... not on the newspaper, online, or the in store ads. I proceeded to purchase 6 packages at the self check out booth... here comes the cashier,Joline, pointing the finger and yelling at me about the limit of buying chicken. She took 3 packages out of my shopping cart and told me that If I questioned her about the limit again she will kick me out of her store and not sell me any chicken ever again!!! WOW! She treated me as though I was a criminal! Note* I have been Maricopa Bashas patron for the last 15 years. Be careful you guys! This is how they treat you for being a loyal customer. From corporate manager PR department, Rob Johnson to store manager, Daniel to a cashier, Joline (meat department manager). Per Rob Johnson that I can not receive a formal apology letter or face to face apology from Joline because this is how Bashas policy has been implemented. So if you ever run into this kind of situation at Bashas than you might as well shut your mouth and be grateful that they have sold you any grocery at all! There isn't a lot of choice in Maricopa for a grocery store, this is one of them. They are well organized in terms of layout. The produce Depot is clean but a little limited in variety of what is offered. The meat department is good and what I have gotten from them was fresh and tasty. I particularly liked their fresh hotdogs! 2 different kinds and both delicious. They do have an In Store pharmacy. Wait to pick up can be long. Deli makes good sandwiches, pizza can be made to order. I was disappointed in the one I got so probably wouldn't get another here. Pastries are tasty. In general, store offers all the basics we have come to expect from a grocery store. Some days service is better than others. COVID has affected their staffing levels. Worth a stop for getting groceries. read more

While in Maricopa for the day to visit friends, we stopped at Basha's to pick up some Vanilla ice cream and an apple pie to take over to our friends' house. This store is nice and big and the bakery area is really easy to find. Something that impressed us when we first pulled in? They have shaded carport awnings that cover each and every parking space. That itself is very cool, and with it being summer and very hot now, those shaded awnings are a real blessing! I wish EVERY store had those! The floor in the store didn't look very clean to me but maybe it was because there was a lot of foot traffic while I was in there, since so many people were shopping that morning. The cashier was very nice and she understood why I didn't have a Basha's Thank You card when she asked me (I rarely ever shop there so I don't feel the need for one). The bagger, on the other hand, kept yawning and wasn't very polite. He said "Have a nice day" with a stone-faced expression and then yawned again. As far as prices go, if you don't have their Thank You card, it's not worth shopping there. They are EXPENSIVE! If I would have had their card, the ice cream I bought would have been $2.50 instead of almost $6.00 for a container of Dreyer's French Vanilla! I'll stick with my regular shopping venues. read more

Best supermarket meat department in Arizona. Better than most prime meat stores in New York. Donuts and cakes are top notch. Everyone visiting from back east loves the cakes as do the children. Crusty seeded ITALIAN always not enough made. The only one in AZ that comes close to ny. Great to find hard to find items. If they increase selection and bring back discontinued items they no longer stock it would be perfect. Less crowds tha frys way better meat quality than frys and way better cakes! After waiting 20 minutes at the front desk which was "open", the staff member who finally shows up announces "not-so-fast" someone is ahead of me. Wha? From where? I've been waiting and waiting and waiting.... Oh, I see, when she walked away (my guess, to the rest room) she picks up some "lost" customer on the way back and pushes me aside like I'm gum on her shoe. Now that this locally owned store has been consumed by Raley's Grocery out of Placerville, CA they have gone to hades in a handbasket. High prices are just the beginning. Gone is the personal touch with the exception of the meat department where they still bend over backwards to help you. New store management absolutely DOES NOT CARE. They are rude, inconsiderate and don't try to do any problem resolving at all and would literally rather lose an 8 year customer like me than do what's right and do the right thing. With all the traffic this establishment gets on weekends, I'm surprised there haven't been any reviews yet. This particular Basha's was built in 2004 and was the first true supermarket in Western Pinal County. It held the market until the Fry's Supermarket opened across the street a year later. One thing that distinguished this Basha's over other stores was its inclusion in a test-program the company held in 2007 to put covered parking over most of its spaces. This was the second store to receive them, and it seemed to make a big difference in the summer. The store itself resembles every other Basha's, with the full-service deli and pizza shop on one end, fruits and vegetables on the other. The pharmacy never seems to have a long line, the wine section is fairly good for a supermarket, and the meat department is the best in its town. The store also seems to be "just the right size." You're not walking a mile to get any individual grocery item, but the store is large enough to have anything you need. Prices do seem slightly higher than the Fry's Market across the street, but this will likely depend on the items you purchase. Are there things I wish I could change? You bet. They put those "Self-service checkout" things in a few years back, and those things are neither for use yourself, nor provide decent service. After seemingly every item is scanned, a prompt comes up asking you to find a customer service rep to review the scan and override a warning message. While you sit there tapping your feet, the lone clerk whose job it is to oversee the "Self-service checkout" area is helping a cashier count money, or pointing a customer in the direction of the dairy section, or selling someone lottery tickets at the service desk. You're not only not going to save any time using these things, you're just going to annoy everyone around you with your foot-tapping. Stick to the checkstands staffed by human beings. Another issue that may or may not crop up is the issue of expired products still being on store shelves. This seemed to be an issue in the dairy/deli section of the store. On three or four occasions I have observed foods for sale which were past their expiration date. I mentioned this to the manager, and I have not had the same experience lately. Even still, be aware that this was once an issue. The staff here is always helpful, always cheerful. They will walk you right to what you need and will help you to your car even on the hottest days of the year. Of special note is the meat department, which happily cuts your meat to your specification and has a wider selection than any other place in town. If you're barbecuing and you live in town, this is your place to prep. The reason this store is so busy on weekends is that it is the last bastion of humanity between Phoenix and either Rocky Point or The Dunes. It is not unusual to see the lot filled with RV's and toy haulers on Friday afternoons as people take off for points unknown. For any of you considering stopping here on your way out of Dodge, RV and oversize-vehicle parking is available at the North and West portions of the parking lot. I'm sitting here. I ate too much because the deli food I just bought at Bashas was seriously really good. We ordered the 12 piece fried chicken on sale for 8.99. Their red potato salad, pea salad, and baked beans are actually pretty dang tasty. As others have mentioned, some of the prices at Bashas can be a little higher, but they have really good ads, just pay attention to the mailers. But on a serious note, if you are looking for good fried chicken in Maricopa, go to Bashas. read more

This review is for the Deli at Basha's had there Beefy Blue sandwich last Thursday, which is made fresh while you wait. thin sliced Boars Head Roast Beef,lettuce,Blue Cheese,red onion,and a sauerkraut spread on a hoagie roll..it was really good,the Roast beef portion was huge and very tasty.. with just the right amount of blue cheese crumbs and the red onion blended all the flavors very well..seemed like small sandwich at first but looks were deceiving i made it a meal with a fountain drink and a bag of Poore Bros chips.all for about 5 bucks.. defiantly my new favorite!! read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever worked with. The Pharmacy Technicians are extremely rude and I have been hung up on 4 times. I work with a Health plan and we will not be working with this pharmacy in the future. Absolutely horrid experience every time we try to coordinate with them. Bashas needs to enforce the rule they have posted for customers to wear masks. I went in the other day & when I was checking out, the man & his son in front of me didn't have masks. The cashier did not say anything about it to them. I also saw a customer leave with no mask on (still in the store, not out yet). The signs are very well posted so a manager should be up front at the entrance denying those who aren't wearing masks. If a sign is posted, it's not an option. read more
