We've been coming to this restaurant for many years, and unfortunately, our recent experience was extremely disappointing. Since the restaurant is now under new management, it seems like the entire atmosphere and level of service have changed. We waited an entire hour for our food. What made the experience even more frustrating was watching the manager appear to prioritize feeding his own family while paying customers continued to wait. The entire staff seemed stressed, overwhelmed, and disorganized. I understand that restaurants can have busy days, but there was very little communication or acknowledgment of the lengthy wait. It's sad to see a restaurant we've supported and enjoyed family celebrations for years go downhill like this. We truly hope the new management takes a step back, addresses the staffing and service issues, and remembers that customers should come first. At this point, we're very hesitant to return. Friends of mine took me here for dinner and oh man was I impressed! It's a local neighborhood spot- nothing fancy, yet warm and chatming with fresh scratch made food and very friendly service. They do offer BYOB which we took advantage of this evening. I had the bruschetta, chicken picatta and the tiramisu and everything was excellent. The portions here are large and filling and you will definitely leave here feeling satisfied. Highly recommend 10/10! read more

Went here for lunch based on so many good reviews. It's a small eatery tucked in the corner of a strip mall. They have outdoor, dog friendly seating. We opted to seat outside because it was a very pleasant day. We enjoyed watching people and their canine friends coming and going from the groomers next door. We were greeted and served by a very pleasant young man. He was attentive and approachable. The food was very good. He was very helpful & patient with us. I ordered the linguini & clams with white sauce, it was quite tasty, but, in all honesty it was a little on the salty side. But, very flavorful. My husband ordered some chicken pesto pasta dish & he said his was very tasty. We also had some cheese garlic bread as an appetizer. Also good! He did say that the bread for the garlic bread is the same as what they use for their pizzas, all in all, I'd say this is a very good hidden gem, definitely would suggest giving them a try if you ever in the area. Awesome calzone! Crispy, perfect amount of cheese and loved the extra toppings I put on. Yep pineapple 1000% The marinara accompanying the calzone was good. Stopped a bit after half way. It might have been a risk to order the clams and linguine but it exceeded expectations. The clams were perfectly done and the sauce was light with a hint of garlic. They do not sell alcohol here but will uncork wine if you bring it. This is an COVID-19 Update Review Yes, Basil & Garlic is open for Takeout and both Claudio & Nadine seem to be doing well under the circumstances. Our daughter bought us an anniversary dinner from here last night. During the last nine weeks, we've found that Basil & Garlic does it much, much better than most with to go orders. Everything was hot and tasty. We even had our own personal server, while enjoying our meal from our own dinning room. LOL This our fourth or fifth takeover meal from Basil & Garlic, which makes us wonder why we go anywhere else. We had their yummy Boscaiola pasta, which comes with sausages, spinach and mushrooms in cream sauce and meat Lasagna. Both dishes were outstanding. Our sever btw raved about her own oversized Calzone. For dessert, the three of us shared a Tiramisu and a Cannoli, which capped a wonderful evening. Hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant that serves good Italian food. It's a BYOB restaurant so make sure you bring your own alcohol. We started with the calamari and garlic bread. The garlic bread was nice and crisp but can use little more garlic. We weren't impressed with the calamari, it was over fried and too much pepper in their batter. But their entree were great. We both enjoyed their chicken Marsala and lasagna. Their lasagna was one of the better one we had in a long time. Our friend loves the chef's special and swore by it - basically the only thing he ever orders there. The tiramisu was amazing!! It's light and melt in your mouth. The serving was generous and only $5.50! Can't beat that! 4 stars because appetizers weren't that great and the lack of ambience. read more

I love every thought about this restaurant-a small, unassuming Italian restaurant, quite possibly family-owned, tucked away in a small strip mall. Upon entering, I was greeted by a woman who seared me outside in a wonderful outdoor patio, perfect for what I was looking for. It appeared to be all family working and they spoke (possibly Italian?) to each other. I love a good family owned business , and I was immediately feeling the warm fuzzy feelings. I ordered the pasta-Rucola e Gamberetti, and it was quite delicious. The only thing I can say is that I was slightly disappointed in the service-I asked for Parmesan cheese (which I saw a customer had on another table), i never received it so i grabbed it myself off the table after the customer left. I also never had my water refilled. My meal also mentioned that that it came with a roll (which I didn't receive). My waiter never came back to check so I notified another waiter about the roll (which he did bring out quickly). Overall, I'd try this place out again (cute atmosphere and good food) but I would hope the service would be better! read more
