My favorite bakery in the most dangerous location in Burien…read more Not dangerous because of crime. Dangerous because it's directly across the street from my gym. Nothing says "great workout" quite like immediately replacing every calorie you just burned with one of Bakery Nouveau's twice-baked chocolate croissants. I prefer to think of it as strategic carbohydrate replenishment. Everything here is exceptional. The pastries are buttery, flaky, and somehow manage to ruin every grocery store croissant for the rest of your life. The coffee is excellent, the staff is consistently friendly, and it's one of those places where it's impossible to leave with only the one thing you came in for. The neighborhood feels safe, parking is plentiful, and the only real hazard is convincing yourself you deserve "just one more pastry." Five stars. My spin instructor may disagree. Bakery Nouveau is worth every extra minute on the bike.

I love that they make their own chocolate but I have yet to try it as I can't justify spending that much money on a chocolate bar. My favorite item is the twice baked almond croissant. The chocolate is delicious as well. They've gotten much better (in Burien, at least) at dialing in the perfect toast and not over doing it to make it a bit dry and bitter. I'm already planning my trip to pick up some more croissants!

I ordered my standard first-visit-to-a-new-place 16 oz extra hot Mocha, which was reasonably priced compared to some neighboring shops. While I waited, I looked through the offerings in their case to find delicious looking small cakes, scones and croissant sandwiches available. Mocha made and presented, we wished each other a good day and I was off. The mocha chocolate itself is good, not bitter like some other places, and the coffee smooth and balanced. I got the impression that they don't use thermometers at Orange Bakery, though, because extra hot wasn't so extra hot (nor did I see her use one). Good visit, I'd be back to try a sandwich or scone with my coffee next time.

My husband ordered the Buttermilk Biscuit Bacon Sandwich with an Americano, and he enjoyed it as usual. I tried the Chilaquiles with a cappuccino. The dish lets you choose green (slightly spicy) or red (tomato-based) sauce, and it comes with two eggs cooked any style. The flavor wasn't bad at all, but it did start to feel a bit heavy and repetitive as I kept eating. If it's your first time here, I personally recommend their pancakes or the buttermilk biscuit sandwiche, which I enjoyed much more on a previous visit. Still, Orange Bakery is a cozy spot with friendly service, and we'll definitely be back.

We opted for the drink as we were heading to a friend's for dinner. I got the ensalada while my boyfriend got the horchata and I appreciated how the cashier asked if we wanted ice or not. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

Salvadoran Bakery is a good spot if you're looking for a casual dining or cake…read more While in Seattle we were celebrating a birthday and the person I was with really wanted to get a cake from here. You can order cakes 2 days before hand but they also had plenty of ready to go cakes available when we came that day. They had big and small cakes in all different flavors. However, they specialize in different versions of their tres leches cakes, including their popular mango one. Before I tell you about the cake we got, I have to mention one of their coconut cream filled puff pastries I got there. It was easily one of the best freakin thing I had in Seattle. I don't even remember what it was called but it was a large sugar coated flaky puff pastry sandwich that had the best coconut house made whip cream inside. It was insanely good and you need to get it if they have it. Delicious! As for our cake, we went with a small 6 inch Piña Colada tres leche cake ($50). We were a little disappointed the guy behind the counter didn't speak English so it made it difficult to tell him what we wanted. We honestly would have ordered much more items if we were able to communicate. It was also a little disappointing that during our short smooth drive back to our hotel that two of the decorative cherries on the cake had fallen off. Not a big deal since I popped them back on but I didn't feel like that was something I had to do. Everyone we shared the cake with enjoyed it. It was very moist and definitely on the sweet side. It was two layers and the pineapple flavor wasn't overwhelming. The small cake was perfect to share with about 10 people. I did think the cake pricing is a little high but not too bad. Besides their full bakery they are also have a full dining menu and places to sit in the restaurant. They offer all sorts of Salvadoran foods. But like I mentioned communicating in English was difficult with the man there so we didn't order. Although I want to try their empanadas. Parking here was also easy since they have their own lot.
