No bathrooms to wash your hands before using public tools to put stuff on your frozen yogurt.

No bathroom to wash your hands before using the spoons to put stuff on your frozen yogurt. No sink, nothing

Okay so I don't even like ice cream, but I still get cravings for this little hot spot. (p.s. How does Baskin Robbins a few doors down stay in business? Maybe they won't.) I like that they have new flavors that rotate often - usually I'm just a vanilla snow type but I have enjoyed the strawberry lemonade and green tea as well. Menchie's is REALLY clean - the people working here do a great job constantly keeping the toppings full and the counters spotless. ...Then there's these little gummy things that have attached themselves to the memories of my taste buds and my taste buds won't move on.

With a crazed looks in their eyes at 8:40 AM pulling into the Safeway parking lot, the tykes scream "lets go to Menchies for breakfast!!!!" "WTF is Menchies?" I think, "a new Jewish deli in West SEA? Has a Yiddish ring to it, after all." But no, its not bagels, lox or blintzes, but Fro-yo. Make sense, more Californians in Seattle than east coasters. 10 hours later we return to Menchie's. Now I'm not a Fro-yo kind of guy, despite being a Cali native. But from my sneaky picking at the kid's deserts, the stuff seems pretty good. Simple process to select your Fro-You: pick up your Fro-You pail to fill up yourself at one of the dispensing stations. Each station has two flavors that can pumped singularly, or in combination by the machine. There are about 4 or 5 stations. Pretty standard flavor selections. One child got the "cake batter" flavor which made me think the guy who came up with that must of known recreational marijuana had been legalized in Washington. Who else but a Stoner would want large quantities of cake batter? This will never be a ROTD I'm guessing. Back to the process. So after filling up your yogurt bucket, you can adorn it with all kinds of toppings like carob chips (don't trust anybody who likes carob) and the more reasonable choices like chocolate sprinkles, Captain Crunch and Maraschino Cherries. Then you take your custom sundae to one of the teenyboppers behind the counter for a weigh-in. I was shocked that two massive containers of Fro-You & condiments were only $5.24. I think my kids had 10 bucks of cherries in there. Seemed like a screaming deal to me. Enough to take home for tomorrow's breakfast.

Who would think that frozen yogurt can substitute craving for ice cream , specially for a picky visitor for far and away, where mango, papaya, guava and pomegranate ice cream are very common flavors. Yelp helped looking for an ice cream place in west seattle. It happened to be Menchie's Frozen Yogurt place a block away. How would it go for a picky ice cream lover? Well, it worked just fine. Great concept of let customers select whatever satisfies one's cravings. Of course it doesn't come cheap. It generally will cost a lot more than a subway sandwiches . Friendly and helpful staff person was amazed at the time one could take building up a frozen yogurt cone! It's almost amusing!

With a great selection of fairly prices frozen yogurts and toppings to choose from , Menchie's is easily the newest and best place to get fro-yo! I couldn't be any happier that it is conveniently located in West Seattle near me so I can get it all the time. I got a buy one get one free with my fro-yo so i will be back soon. I had the honey dew yogurt with captain crunch, moochie, gummy bears and yogurt chips. Delicious, but very, very sweet!

For a business whose clients are mostly kids, it seems pretty inexcusable to keep the bathroom "closed" permanently.

It's basically cultured gelato so it's perfect for people who like the texture of gelato and the creaminess of yogurt. I'm a big fan of Ellenos yogurt and wanted to check out this place as well. I went on a summer afternoon so the line was pretty long, but moved quickly so I didn't stand in line for longer than 15 minutes. There were so many interesting flavors and the staff working there said I could sample as many as I wanted before deciding. I really appreciated that as they're pretty busy but still gave me a chance to try some before choosing one I liked. I ended up selecting the Lemon Curd as it was so tart and creamy and the yogurt paired with the lemon made it taste like the yoplait key lime pie yogurt I loved as a kid. I also really liked the Mango, Marionberry, and Seattle Fog so I'll come back for those next time. Ube was highly recommended to me as well but the coconut flavor felt overpowering to me. Regular sized single scoop is called a "walk around the park". If you want two flavors, you have to pay an additional amount for a split scoop. Really enjoyed the gelato and it was the perfect summer afternoon treat!

About a minute after getting my drink, I took a sip and was surprised that it was cold--not even lukewarm, but actually cold. I didn't go back to ask for a remake because there were several people in line behind me and I didn't want to wait. Instead, I ended up microwaving it when I got back to my Airbnb. The latte itself was decent and had a strong espresso flavor, but the mocha syrup was way too sweet for my taste. I think it would have been much better if it had been about half as sweet. The price was also pretty high for a 12 oz latte. The customer service was disappointing. The young woman who helped me came across as rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. That's especially unfortunate for a business located in the middle of a major tourist area. As for the drink, I'm not sure how a hot latte ends up being served cold, but it definitely shouldn't happen. I also sampled the tiramisu gelato, which was overly sweet and didn't taste very authentic. Overall, I regret spending the time, money, and calories here. There are too many great coffee shops in Seattle to settle for an experience like this.

So funny. The staff is kind and is more than happy to let you sample to your heart's desire. There is seating both inside and out. I am sure on summer evenings this place is insanely busy, but on a Monday at approximately 2PM, I didn't wait in a line at all. They had fun summer flavors such as apricot crisp, blueberry cheesecake, cherry chunk, and strawberry sorbet. I tried two different flavors, and both were delicious. Both flavors were extremely creamy, even the fruity flavored ones. I started with the strawberry sorbet. It was refreshing. The strawberry really shined through and was extremely fresh tasting. I feel like strawberry flavoring can sometimes come off as artificial, but I did not have that experience with this ice cream. The second flavor I sample, and my favorite one of the day was the honey lavender. It felt like you were walking through an organic lavender field. As always, cities have expensive ice cream, but I am just a girl, so I will get a sweet treat.
