This is the BEST Baskin Robbins in town and the BEST ice cream!. This is also the ONLY place where you can get a real old fashioned ice cream soda! When I was there today, not only did the owner, an older gentleman, know exactly how to make it, while he did it he demonstrated to the two young people who were waiting on the counter, teaching them how to do it too. I've been to this location many times. It's close to school and the perfect stop on a hot day. Yesterday they were extremely busy but what I saw was very bothersome. There were only 2 men working the counter. The older gentleman, who I believe might be the owner and then a young man. Yes, I'm a little OCD when it comes to cross contamination. As I'm watching the men scoop and take cash and handle the touch screen, I noticed that neither of the men have changed their gloves or washed their hands!!!! I watched them for over 5 minutes going back and forth. When we were finally next, I politely asked the older gentleman to please change gloves. He looked at me a bit puzzled, shook his head and slowly threw out the gloves and put in new ones. I dislike telling ppl how to do their job but it's only common sense!!! Ice cream, yum! My coworkers and I like to come here for dessert after eating lunch at Taco Reyes next door. No matter how full I am, there's always room for ice cream. :) My favorite flavor is mint chip, but the first time I got it, it tasted a bit icy, like the ice cream had been frozen for a long time. Not sure if it was due to freezer burn or because the freezer was super cold, but I didn't like how it was more icy than creamy. The second time I went, I decided to go for Baseball Nut. I didn't think I would like it that much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The vanilla ice cream was smooth and creamy, and the raspberry ribbons tasted fresh and fruity. I also like how the cashew nuts even had a bit of a crunch. I got the kiddie cup, and it was quite a generous scoop of ice cream. :) Only one person working at the counter at weekday lunchtime, so service is a bit slow when a bunch of us show up all at once. But they are still very generous with the tastings, and it's nice to sit down and enjoy my dessert on a hot summer day in the valley. read more

Just walked out this place really upset. My kid wanted to order his own ice cream but was wanted to sample from two different flavors. The guy kept ignoring him, gave him the one sample and kept helping other people, when I thought he was finally getting back to him he helps the people just entering. When I called him on it he says, "you just got here". Bad move to do on a kid that wanted his ice cream. Was his reward for doing good on his school activity today, to pick any flavor he wanted.
