I don't visit BR often, but, when I do, I am reminded why I don't visit the Westlake location. I waited in longer than 10 minutes for service and then this bi...decided to cut in line. Baskin Robbins has always been hit or miss for me. Some locations are good but this one is always dirty, the employees uniforms tend to verge on disgusting and the service is so so. The Ice Cream is okay but I'd rather have Haagen Daz or Cold Stone (usually the latter)... If youre in the mood for a Sundae this is the place to go but other than that dont bother. read more

I don't know why I keep going back to this place but I guess it is because it is close to my house. I don't really have anything bad to say about their ice cream cakes because their ice cream cakes are so yummy. But I must say they should stop hiring untrained employees that don't care to work there. It is hard to get good service there because they are unwilling or to lazy to help. One time I ordered a cake on the phone and I told the manager I was going to pick up the cake within the hour. I arrived, they had sold my cake and it was a wasted a trip for me. I had brought my elderly parents in the car and that made it worst that we came home with no cake for my mother's birthday. I ordered a cake online. It was a big mistake. They call me the day of 30 mintues before my pick up time saying they had just received my order and that they could make it within an hour to an hour and a half. Imagine if I put a later time of pick up so they could tell me it was not gonna be ready for the time I asked. On top of that the top part that was green was sliding off the side. The cake was rush. Visited today ( 4/12/18 )around 9 pm. The guy who had a long hair with a long Elvis SB was a mess. Full of attitude. Not a first time he did this. All 3 times unfortunately he was surving us. Forgived him twice but today was to much...Owner..... if you reading feedback then please train this guy who have no concept of customer service. Teach him ....if he DO NOT fix then fire him.... he is hurting your business. I left the place right away and certainly for good. Worst customer service ever,every time I come and pay same amount, today he charged me extra without telling the reason and just charged .

This is two reviews (experiences) in one. 1) Not Family Friendly Two weeks ago my 2 year old daughter and myself go into the Westlake location during our father daughter day. My 2 year old is potty training. Any parent out there understands the demands of potty training. When your potty trainer needs a restroom, they usually need it immediately. My daughter says, "Daddy I need to go potty" and approach the lady behind the counter and ask politely if my daughter may use the restroom. She says no its store policy. I have worked in retail for almost 20 years and even though the places I have worked for have had similar rules there has been two exceptions: expectant mothers and children. I told the lady my daughter was potty training and it was important that I used a restroom. She said sorry it is against our policy, go next door. Wow!!! Way to go Baskin Robbins. They blamed it on the manager. I asked to leave a message for the manager to call me...never did. 2) Horrible customer service Thursday night I walk into this location again wanting to purchase an ice cream cake. There are about 15 people in the store. I get the cake out of the freezer and approach the cashier. "Sorry sir, you have to wait in line before I can ring that up". Me..."are you serious. I just want a cake". Them..."manager's rules, even the customers who pick something up from the freezer have to wait in line". Wow!!! Maybe I am over reacting here, but you expect me to wait in line for fifteen people to get scoops of ice cream when it will take me less than 30 seconds to pay for an ice cream cake. I then turn around and ask every customer if they mind if I purchase the cake. Everybody says go ahead. Employee...."Sorry that is still against the rules". Are you kidding me. I asked every person in the store if they mind and everyone was ok with it. "No sir even if the customers say it is ok, I still cannot ring you up. I do not make the rules, I just follow them". This is by far the worst Bakin Robbins I have ever been in. Again they blamed it on the manager. I have been in this location many times and have never seen or heard from the "manager". Not even sure if one exists. I would recommend visiting another location. Ice cream gets 5 stars. Have always loved the ice cream. read more

The customer service is definitely lacking. The kids that work here could use some customer service training. They are a bit too rude and prickly for my tastes. The location of this BR is fantastic. The quality and selection of ice cream here is always fantastic. This is one of the larger BRs in the area so they always have the best selection. I'm not going to review their ice cream because, come on, they are a chain, it's consistent everywhere. But I will say that their lava cake taste absolutely terrible. It taste like you're eating straight up coffee and that doesn't make any sense. As for this location, the floor and tables were very dirty and no one cleaned up the whole time we were there. Also, customers had their dogs in there and that's just disgusting. And people, these were not service dogs. read more

The smoothies that I had here was terrible. The lady put all kinds of "chemicals" to make a drink. Taste was horribly sweet. It was combined all of guava, strawberry and orange colorful concentration. It's unacceptable to have a taste like that for smoothies for the price of 6.5$. I haven't been to a Baskin Robbins in decades. My kids wanted to try it so I gave in. What a pleasant surprise this visit was! This is by far the cleanest Baskin Robbins I have been to in my life. No sticky floors, sticky counters or chocolate fingerprints on the napkin dispensers. The employees spend their free time taking care of this shop, not gossiping, and from I could tell they do it happily. They greeted us with genuine smiles and were super patient while my kids were undecided on what flavor to pick. When they saw us grabbing seats, they brought over cups of iced water. Would you expect that type of service from a Baskins Robbins? How refreshing! We will come here again. read more

No frill place for ice cream, tons of flavors to choose from, my go to is the jamoca almond fudge. Located in the Westlake plaza, there is tons of parking. There are three tables to sit at to eat ice cream. Occasionally there are coupons floating around, and ice cream doesn't get much better than BOGO. read more

If your the owner I hope your reading this. I've been coming to this location for the past 12 years since my kids were little. I can honestly say that the employees there have been very pleasant up until recently. The new staff they currently have now are extremely rude and unpleasant and It shows in their attitude like they don't want to be there. If you don't like serving ice cream and seeing smilingly faces on kids you shouldn't be working there. I'm extremely disappointed and will find another place to go for ice cream. read more

i actually REALLY like this Baskin. the store is very nice for a Baskin Robbins. All of the other ones i have seen are very tiny!!! I really like how Baskin Robbins ice cream is really classic. it doesn't have too many candies in it, unlike coldstones - which is right up the street. i like THIS baskin robbins because most of the staff is pretty awesome. the MANAGER isn't there very often, but when she is, she is very helpful. she seems to be very interactive (alot of managers stay in a back room). i like to sit in the store and enjoy my ice cream (pralines n cream! my fave!!!) with my friend or family, we're here pretty often. we sometimes have the pleasure of watching her with the REALLY difficult crazy customers, and WOW! i don't know how she can stay so calm in those situations! anyway, the difficult customers usually end up leaving satisfied! i really don't know how she does it... if i were in her position, customer service aside, i WOULDN'T take half of it! then, there are the cake decorators! there's this one girl who is there all the time, she's pretty nice. she seems to be there by her self sometimes and she's able to multi-task pretty well, doing BOTH cakes AND helping customers with their ice cream order! wow! then, there's this guy who just started working there again (i THINK he worked there before, because he seems to have alot of knowledge about a variety of things in the store... and he looks really familiar) he actually helped me pick out a cake for my friend's birthday last week and was very nice! he helped me figure out the size and flavor i wanted, he even wrote BEAUTIFULLY on the cake! *their cakes are AWESOME btw!!!* **great tasting AND beautifully decorated** then there is another girl... i don't know what her position is, but i REALLY hope it's not a high one. the other day i was enjoying my pralines and cream ice cream with my kids and she was really rude to a customer (this really old lady who was asking for envelopes for the gift certificates she just purchased, they didn't have enough for the amount she bought). that actually wasn't the first time i've seen this particular baskin robbins employee act like this, since i am a frequent customer, i've seen her do this to AT LEAST three other customers (yeah... i'm in here alot!... or just grabbing ice cream to go). she DEFINITELY needs to go through customer service training again... .... then there are a couple of REALLY TALL guys that work there (compared to the rest of the staff haha). All the people working at the store are kids, I don't understand it.. I come into this store all the time, and the people are always friendly. In the summer time, its always hectic and crowded, but they still serve me with a smile, and diligently get through my order as quickly as possible to help the rest of the line, and during the winter all the girls chat with me, and ask about how I'm doing. Would give ZERO star if I could. Poor service! Walked in half an hour to closing. Guess they didn't expect any more customers (with poor service, I can see why). Chairs were on the tables already. Must have been ready to lock up and walk out if they didn't have to electronically punch-out?! One in our group proceed to take a chair down. The guy in the middle of scooping ice cream must have had one eye on the tables and scooping?! WTF! He pops up, practically yells over, that she can't do that! "We are closing!" I am a long time customer of this particular Baskin Robbins store. I've never felt compelled to write a review. Why not? It is just a Baskin Robbins - nothing special, but nothing bad either. The times we have been here have been average. Our kids order their ice cream cones, and off we go. Of course, we have ordered our share of ice cream birthday cakes here over the years as well. Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes are a rite of passage for little kids' birthday parties. In September 2015, I called in an order for a birthday cake. I specified the type of cake and ice cream I wanted, and also specified the color of the outside of the cake. Chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, and WHITE outer cake with blue trim. The person who took my order insisted I give her my credit card number and pay for the cake during the phone order because they have had problems with some folks ordering cakes and not showing up to pick up cake. Okay, I gave her my credit card number and reconfirmed all the details of the cake and the date/time for pickup. When I arrived to pick up the cake, the cake was not what I ordered. The entire outside of the cake was BLUE with white trim. I took one look at the cake and told the girl that my order was wrong. She looked at the order form taped to the cake, stared at it for several seconds, then called over a co-worker to whisper over the dilemma. She finally said, "Yeah, it looks like the cake isn't exactly what you ordered." Then she just stares at me. Okay, I was going to have to help her figure this out. So I said to her, "This is not right. I didn't order a blue cake. It is my son's birthday. The order is messed up. What are you going to do about it?" She then consulted with her coworker some more. She comes back and says, "Well, I didn't take your order, the manager did. And I ain't gonna fix her mistakes." I then calmly told her, "The order was taken correctly. The person who made the cake didn't make the cake per my specifications." Her response: "I didn't make the mistake." Please note I was extremely patient during this exchange. Patient, but firm. I needed the fricking cake. Finally got the pathetic gal to give me a 30% discount which she couldn't calculate in her head. She pulled out a calculator to do the math and still couldn't get it right. Duh! Garbage in; garbage out. The calculator was only going to help her if she knew what buttons to push. Does this give you an idea of her mental capacity? She works in a store with at least 31 flavors of ice cream. I doubt she could count that high. I asked her if she was sure the cake was chocolate. She assured me it was. (How could she tell?) I figured it was a 50-50 chance it was chocolate...either chocolate or yellow cake, right? When I got home, I took a closer look at the cake. Instead of "Happy 16th Birthday" the inscription was "Happy 15th Birthday." Sigh. read more

This review is for Jason. We asked for a fresh pack of mint chocolate chip ice cream, which we always ask for when we go to Baskin-Robbins because it's creamier and fluffier than the prepacked. He looks at us like we're crazy and tells us there's prepacks ones in the fridge. We explained to him that we want it freshly scooped and he rolls his eyes. i LOVE this place! as soon as i walk in the door, one of the servers always says "welcome to baskin robbins!" or "Hi, how are you doing today?" i like it because they acknowledge your presence. sure, it can be a little pricey depending on what you order, but they have this 88 cent promotion for a huge softy cone (which is an AWESOME deal - yogurt circle bumped up their price from 39 cents per ounce to 49 recently!). i go there often and some of the staff even remember me and know what i usually order (a 2 scoop sundae for the bf and mocha blast for me) and sometimes when its not too busy and they see me coming from the parking lot they already have our order started before we get to the door! whenever we eat our ice cream in, i know they don't just recognize me, because someone on the staff seems to know every other customer that walks through the door and has a nice conversation with them. the staff is VERY friendly, not only talking to the people they know, but they are also very friendly to the random people who come into their store (i.e. people from out of town, people who used to go to the br on sloat, etc) the only reason why i gave a 4 start rating instead of a 5 is because the parking in that shopping center is horrible (which isn't REALLY baskin robbins fault) ANND because that ice cream and cake song from the commercial is really annoying.... but catchy (AGAIN... not really their fault.....) i enjoy this place... i think you will too. read more

They don't have bags that fit their ice cream cakes so if you are on foot for any distance you have a very melted blob of so-so ice cream! I never felt the corporate chill in an ice cream store until I visited this little dump. I think they hire kids with low grades. I say if you can... go to the family owned Mitchell's Ice Cream for you ice cream cakes they are totally comparable in price and far superior in quality. There's a reason Baskin Robbins locations are disappearing so fast... there's no love left :( read more

We came here with a birthday club coupon for a free scoop the day before my birthday. We were pretty excited so we took a while deciding, but we finally chose the special oreo flavor, and something special for the Sis. So we went up to the counter, expecting one of the two young women behind the counter to take our order. However, she stood there kind of glaring at us for a little while, and then her coworker slowly passed her while whispering something to her, and she laughed. It made us feel a bit uncomfortable. After a while we realized that she would just stay standing and staring, so we asked if we could use the coupon. She stayed where she was(far behind the cash register) and was like "DIdn't you guys come in here yesterday with a birthday club coupon?" WHAT?!?!?!of course we HADN'T, and we weren't expecting that kind of attitude from our server. I did end up getting my teenytiny oreo scoop, but our shock at her attitude caused it to not taste as good as it should have. The only thing preventing them from a 0 star rating(besides the fact that its not possible) is the fact that they accepted our coupon. I'm a frequent visitor to this Baskin Robbins (about once a week) and this is the second time the same guy waited on me (Caucasian, dark hair, plugs in his ears) and gave me a cone that was about 20% smaller than what other people serve. It was noticeably lighter in weight. This time I said it seemed small, and he shrugged and said it was the right size. I left feeling ripped off. Additioanlly, I was about the sixth person in a line of 10 people waiting to be served. There were two people working, the guy who waited on me, and another girl. The guy was taking orders and the girl was scrapping down the sides of the ice cream containers, none of which were empty. I asked her if she was taking orders and she replied that she was stocking product, would take orders when she was finished, they were short staffed and there was nothing she could do about it. Customer service and the concept of the customer coming first were non-existent, but there was plenty of bitchy attitude. It was about 9:30pm and the store closed at 10pm. I suspect she wanted to get the cleaning and stocking done so she could leave when the store closed. Lousy service and poor value for money spent. read more
