Each of my family members also ordered their own ice cream.The girl helping us was new and was a bit slower, but very nice and patient as we decided what to get. One thing I didn't realize is that if you decide to get more than 1 flavor, they will automatically mix it all up for you. The worst business I worked with for the past 6 years! Kevin owner/manager hired me to replace the entire shop lights. Asked to get him recommendations for the light when I got there for free estimate. He got the lights and started the job- to this point haven't mentioned once to make payment plan or anything like that. Half way through the job he left the shop saying nothing. When the job got done - no sign of the guy- asked the register lady to call him and he said will Pay next day so he let "corporate" know the job is completed. Till this point nothing uncommon. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time. We visited this store with our family on Saturday around 5 PM There were two female employees working, and both created such an unpleasant atmosphere that I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.The store itself was dirty, there were no napkins available, and even basic things like spoons were placed in a way that kids couldn't reach them on their own.The ice cream quality was also disappointing -- there were ice crystals in it, which tells me it wasn't stored properly. I specifically ordered a flavor that was supposed to include caramel, but they forgot to add it. I just ordered a strawberry passion cake for my birthday, but when I came to pick it up, they said they had not received my order even though they had the finished cake; they also said they didn't receive the note to put my "Happy Birthday" message on there. More importantly, the design was subpar as it had very minimal effort put into it, For example, the frosted "leaves" on the strawberry halves the lined the top of the cake were just circular blotches of deep green. It was as if they didn't even bother to get a, perhaps nicer piping tip and pipe onto the strawberry tops. Then they said they couldn't fit a "Happy Birthday" message on there because the cake was too small (I got their smallest size). However, for this I don't really blame them too much. At the end of the day, this Cold Stone's kind of disappointing; it's not how I remember it years ago. Another thing is, I usually get my birthday cakes from the Cold Stone at Tanforan, but because they were temporarily closed, I had to settle for less: this Daly City location. For $40, you'd really think you're going to get an amazing, perfect cake, but you might be better off purchasing from at least a different location in the future. Upon closer inspection, I also noticed that the layer of frosting on top of the cake was lopsided and generally uneven, the little logo chocolate piece was no where near centered, and the ice cream layer was noticeably thinner than the red velvet cake layers. read more

First of all, I've been going to cold stones every once in while since I was teen. But yes the flavors are steady & yes they e locations in many areas. This isn't a bad thing at all but then again it's not the cheapest option. It gets the jobs done in terms of killing your cravings. The shop is tiny & for two small scoops of ice cream with dark chocolate chips, I paid about $8. I also registers for their rewards thru my cell phone number.
