I've visited this location a few times to grab a scoop and each time I've looked for the Cookie Monster Cookie Dough ice cream flavor, they never have it. Other locations seem to carry it so I thought this one would too. The worker mentioned it's up to the manager and whatever BR sends from their inventory. It's just a let down for me so I have to visit Castro Valley as they usually carry it. Overall, this location is fairly clean, has friendly service, and has ample shared parking in the shopping plaza. They don't seem to be too busy either, which means you can get served fairly quickly. Don't forget to sign up for BR rewards - they offer promotions every so often, cake discounts, and birthday scoops! read more

I came on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend for a celebration cake. It was a bit warm inside, though it was a hot day that day so perhaps that's why? There were plenty of cakes in stock for same day purchase and I chose a chocolate with chocolate chip cookie ice cream cake that was large enough to serve my party of 15. I was in a bit of a rush and there were no other customers and two employees working at the time I visited. I had a good experience with the man who helped me find the cake I wanted and rang me up, but the reason I took some stars away from this experience is the cake writing part. What seems like it should take mere minutes, ended up taking quite a long time (10+ minutes). I wanted green "Yay Julia!" which I wrote out on blank receipt paper for them to reference. At first they said they could do it but then they said they didn't have green. I settled on blue, but instead of "Yay Julia! the man wrote "Jay Julia!" with the y being backwards as if he wrote it looking at a mirror. I told him it was wrong and the other worker in the store understood, but the guy writing on the cake didn't seem to understand. The other worker told him to fix the "yay" so he went back, scraped what he could of the old "y" off and fixed the "y" to be correct, re-boxed it and brought it out to me, but the "J" was still there. I told him again, the guy still didn't understand - he had the Y written on the paper and the other worker told him a couple times, he must not have known the word "yay" or how to copy text...he went back again, the other guy guided told him again what he had to fix, and he came back out with the correct writing...but the writing was pretty mediocre and you could see where the mistakes were wiped off. For this occasion it ended up being an entertaining story but definitely not a great experience overall. The cake itself was good, I'd just think twice about getting writing on a cake from here! read more

My husband and I are new the area and we wanted some classic Baskin Robbin's. We have been to this location a few times now and the workers have been alright BUT tonight the owner JP was there and he was so incredibly nice. He is what makes us want to go back! He is kind and really cares about the people who come to his establishment! His energy was contagious. We will definitely be coming back simply due to this kind man! read more

I LOVE Baskin Robbins. Unfortunately this is the worst one around depending on what you're looking for. The older guy that's there all the time is nice but is not good at making shakes. Not good at making smoothies. The other employees are slightly better at it, but they're not there as often as he is. It's been the same way for several years now. To be honest even the flavor of their ice cream is lacking, the taste of it inside the shake is always off. We also got a smoothie this time and it was missing the ice cream/sherbet/whatever is supposed to be in it. So it was room temp and extremely thin. Pretty odd lol. read more

We love Baskin Robbins. It's a classic! This one is so conveniently close that we go after school. I use it as an incentive for the kids but this place is very filthy. Every time we go, it's not busy so there's no reason why the trash should be overflowing and for the customer counters, seats and floors to always be nasty. One can overlook the unsightly, spilled sprinkles on the workstations as it doesn't have to be spotless on a workday but the overall lack of cleanliness is gross. I've held off posting in case things change because of its location but this place being dirty is consistent every time we come here. Perhaps the owner/manager should address it. Until that happens, we will avoid and go to other alternatives like the one in Castro Valley even though it is farther. read more

Went there this afternoon for the first time in a long time and really enjoyed it this time! The assistant manager (a male), and a female of similar age range were working together. I didn't get their names, but they were both so friendly and just a joy. I asked if they were the owners; their manner and courtesy really had that ownership vibe. Alas no, but maybe they should be. The store was spotless, the cleanest I've ever seen it in the 15 years I've been going. He was cleaning the cake cases when I came in, she was cleaning something as well; making efficient use of the quiet time. Whomever the owners actually are, treat and pay those two well please. Had a wonderful experience! As soon as I walked thru the door I was immediately welcomed in by the new owner JP. I enjoyed talking with him and loved his enthusiasm regarding the community. I met one of the coolest people today! His name is JP and he's the new owner of this Baskin Robbins! What more to ask for to have ice cream and shoot the breeze. And with the baskin Robbin's app I got me a free pineapple mango milkshake that was delicious. I took my family here and we had a great time! If I could give less than, I definitely would. There was only one customer there when we entered and the young man looked up but did not greet us. Since my favorite flavor, Love Potion is seasonal and I had just ordered at the BR in Manteca, I was surprised this shop didn't have it. Most of the ice cream containers were empty! The store was a complete mess and not once did the young man smile, STILL! When he did speak, it was extremely quiet, near a whisper. Still, no smile, no eye-to-eye contact, complete lack of any interpersonal skills. The store was filthy, from the tables to the ice cream containers, the floor and every surface one could see!!! I won't spend my money at this particular store! read more

It's a Baskin-Robbins, we should all know what to expect and have a similar experience at any location! My only feedback to this location is they've been out of sugar cones multiple times. That's like walking into McDonald's and not having French fries. They also didn't have mint chocolate chip a couple times too. This is a management problem. You're forecasting your reordering of supplies as well as other Baskin-Robbins stores. If it happened once, it'd be circumstances, but this is a repeat happening at this specific location. read more

I went in with my daughter last week and this Baskin Robbins has a new owner! The excitement in the air is palpable and changes (for the better) are already happening. Service under the new owner has gotten exponentially better. There's also a new product assortment (new, never-before-seen or tasted flavors). We were a party of 4, and after every single order, she would rush and ask "anything else?!" And I really wanted to reply with "and a better attitude" but I let it go. It wasn't even hot outside for her to have that kind of temper with customers. Like yes, it was busy, but you're doing a job that requires customer service. It's that kind of good lol!! My go-to favorites are the chocolate brownie and the snickerdoodle. The chocolate brownie is rich, deep, and gloriously indulgent. The snickerdoodle somehow tastes warm, nostalgic, and sophisticated all at once. They're the kind of flavors that make you pause for a second because your brain needs a moment to process how delicious they are :P Honestly, I've had moments here where I'm standing there smiling like an idiot, thinking, how is ice cream this good???! :P

Just because it was a long shift doesn't mean you treat your customers like that, especially ones who understand and are trying to help in this small way. If you need to cut off the line, you may want to consider doing it 15-20min prior to close, especially when the line is out the door on a hot day. The dessert was honestly great, and we'd definitely come back for more. However, we won't be coming back to this location.
