On Monday, August 24th, I visited your store and placed an order for 96 cookies for a corporate event. My order was taken by Adella and I confirmed the pick-up date of August 27th at 9:30 am, but shared with Adella that I would probably pick them up around 10-11 am. She said that would be great! in the effort of allowing time to ensure mý order was ready. Order amount $239.04. Thursday, August 27th I walked into the store and no one was present. Finally an employee by the name of Rachelle appeared. I said hello and she didnt respond. She looked at me and asked if I was there to pick up an order? I said yes, and provided my name. (how did she know that I placed an order???Hmmmm) Rachael grabbed a box from a rack and dropped the box in front of me and walked away. I immediately noticed the hand smudges on the outside of the box and like any customer I open the box to check the order and was completely shocked by the poor presentation of the cookies and the soiled box in which they decided to package my order in. I asked Rachael to look at the dirty box and poor service and she stomped her feet as she walked toward me and placed her hands on her hips and declared she didn't find anything wrong with the order and asked if wanted her to call the Store Manager. I replied... Absolutely!! Rachael didn't offer anything remotely close to an apology. She looked at me as if I was causing her an inconvenience. She also complained and stated to me that she felt as if she was being "set up" and thrown under the bus and that she had nothing to do with my order. That statement confused me??? Did they plan to sabotage my order??? She said she didn't make the order, but she also said she was the only employee working that morning. So when were my cookies baked??? Were they day-old cookies??? Frankly, they looked like 2-week old cookies! The Store Manager, Adella spoke with me over the phone and exclaimed she didn't know what happened to my order, but apologized that she didnt live nearby to come to the store to review the situation. She asked Rachael to take photos, but she didn't. I took the attached images while standing in the store. Adella told Rachael to rebox my cookies because I didn't have time to wait for a new order, nor did I want to inconvenience Rachael with her very bad attitude any further. While I was speaking with Adella on Rachael's phone, Rachael demanded her phone back from me, which I then gave her. She immediately took the box of cookies and slammed them on the table as well as slamming and opening refrigerator doors while reboxing the order. Once completed, she again dropped the box of cookies in front of me and walked away with an attitude...still no apology for my inconvenience and experience. I merely want you to know what kind of employees you have representing your company and the product that's being provided. I certainly shared this experience with my colleagues and family! Ultimately, I felt there was some underlying discrimination. I felt Rachael was trying to provoke me with her behavior, but I'm a person of great character and didn't fall for her antics. For all those who were a part of this situation, please know the cookies were NOT eaten. The event was outside on a windy evening...and they were blown off the table onto the ground. Every crumbl I've been to has a display at the register showcasing the flavors of the week, and unfortunately this location's display looked messy, almost as if someone had played with it. It definitely wasn't the most visually appealing first impression. Aside from that, the rest of the store was clean and well maintained. I normally don't go out of my way for crumbl since their cookies tend to be much sweeter than my preference, but I received a voucher to try one of their new dirty sodas. I was a bit skeptical at first since I'd heard people describe them as being overwhelmingly sweet, but the employee working that afternoon was really nice and made my drink perfectly. I ordered the dr pepper with lime and coconut, and it had just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, it was a positive experience. Not only were they beautiful, but they were also so light, fluffy, and balanced in texture and flavor. I was actually so happy with these that I ordered a box of confetti cupcakes for another friend immediately after. Tori was so accommodating with my request and promptly delivered the goods in adorable packaging. These were also unlike any cupcakes we had ever had; they were so fluffy and soft, and filled with cream instead of iced outside. They were truly delightful and made a wonderful birthday present. I'll definitely be ordering from Tori again. I love seeing small businesses from around here, and I cannot express how pleased I was with everything - from the packaging to the ingredients to the taste. Recently, I finally splurged and ordered something for myself! A Mystery Box. In it, I received a lovely variety including 3 matcha cookies, and 1 each of berry, matcha sesame, and citrus madeleines. My favorite was definitely the cookies, I enjoy matcha in general and thought the combination of matcha with chocolate was a tasty and creative one! They were sweet but not too sweet and had a great chewy texture that held up well in their journey from SF to NYC. Overall, the customer service is prompt and the goodies are clearly made with care. I appreciate that shipping is available nationwide and that the delivery cost is incorporated into the menu price so it is easy to mentally calculate my total bill. Glancing at the menu, you can tell that After By Tori is pricier than your average bulk box of cookies at a grocery store, but you get the high quality that you pay for :-) They are open and receptive to feedback on their products and packaging as well. On social media, you are gifted with the additional treat of behind-the-scenes photos and videos as orders are being fulfilled and new recipes are being explored. I loved the dubai brownie when they last had it, so I ordered it again when it came back to the menu. When I ordered it in Modesto, it looks so even and perfect, but when I got it in Livermore, it looks so uneven and ugly. In Modesto, they serve it without the tray, but for some reason, in Livermore, they threw the whole puck with the tray into the box. We only ate a quarter piece at a time. Unfortunately there was a HAIR embedded in the top chocolate layer. Really really gross. I called the store to tell them, and they said if I wanted a replacement, I could come in, but if I wanted are refund, I'd have to wait until tomorrow for the manager would process the refund when they are on shift. Oct 3, 2025: I came in to get the refund and return the remainder 2 dubai brownies that we didnt eat. I also brought the piece that had the hair to show them. The lady offered me a replacement but I refused and wanted the refund. I noticed there were two other men working there. Although everyone had a cap on, one of the men had a beard that wasn't face covered. I've worked in food business before and from what I know, beards were not allowed due to sanitary reasons. Mustaches were ok, but beards were not.
