Ordered a cake for my child's 12th birthday and was told I could bring a cake topper so I did! Because of this someone there decided they weren't going to put Happy Birthday & my child's name on the cake! Nobody called to ask if I still wanted it! So when I went to pick it up I was informed of this! I said yes, I still wanted the writing on the cake! Max who made me wait till he finished his line hesitantly took the cake and scribbled Happy Birthday on the bottom since he decided to place the very small cake topper on the bottom! I asked him to add the name and he did it with an attitude even sloppier! I told him the writing looked very ugly and I didn't like it! He said too bad and nothing he could do about it! This is what happens when you pay for an order in advance! I asked for his corporate office number and he said google it and then flicked me off with a smile at the door after I took a picture of me! After contacting corporate, I was told this was store on Slauson & Western was independently owned and managed and they would have the owner contact me! Which didn't happen until I followed up with corporate a 2nd time with my complaint incident number! Finally I get a call from the owner who says he looked at the pictures and sees nothing wrong with the cake or his employee's attitude because he checked cameras and didn't see him give me the finger! I said no wonder your employee has such a bad attitude he gets it from you! To be an owner your tone and lack of accountability and acknowledgement is unacceptable and unprofessional thanks for nothing! Why did you call me to chastise me I asked and then proceeded to inform him I just bought another cake from my cousin at the store on Imperial and Hobart because I wouldn't return to Slauson and Western until I received an apology from his employee or him and they made it right! He proceeded to laugh an arrogantly announced that he owned that store as well among others near my area in Morningside, Inglewood and South Central! At that point I was defeated, insulted, offended and incredibly disappointed and just hung up! Now we're going to Cold Stone and Yogurtland in Inglewood! Basically spent money with the same business owner who comes to exploit us in our neighborhood! Baskin Robbins corporate has done nothing to encourage them to represent the franchise better and treat their customers with respect and professional courtesy! I was very disappointed this trip to my favorite ice cream place. Upon arrival I quickly noticed they they were NOT wearing gloves. The store was crowded so I always start looking around to see how working handle crowd and this was the example I saw. Trying to rush and serve people and now worried about sanitation. In all my years as a Baskin-Robbins customer, THIS location needs to be permanently SHUT DOWN! Context: I called this location to cancel a cake order I no longer needed. The policy listed on the confirmation email states and I quote: "*To cancel or modify your order, please directly call the selected pickup location no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time." So I call 72 hours in advance to cancel and was told by the employee on the phone that she wasn't able to help me because her manage wasn't there at the store and hasn't been for 2 days. Red flag #1. Then she asks me if I would like her to call her manager and ask him and then call me back. I agreed and in less than 10 minutes she calls me back and says since the cake has already been made, they cannot cancel the order. Red flag #2. If the CORPORATE EMAIL states what Baskin-Robbins policy is, they as a franchise still need to honor that. So I asked her for her managers name and the number for corporate in which she tells me she can't give out that information. Red Flag #3. Now here is the part of the story as to WHY this location needs to be shut down and the manager should be FIRED. After this phone call with the employee, I find the telephone # to corporate. I explain my grievance to the customer service agent who proceeds to file a claim with me to investigate the matter. I requested an email documenting this claim which I received 5 minutes after getting off the phone with them. All of a sudden, I receive a call from an unknown # and something told me to answer it even though I don't answer callers I don't know. When I answered, it was the manager of the Baskin-Robbins giving me a call in regards to my order. I explained to him that I needed to cancel and that's when the call took a turn for the worst... He began telling me (calmly at first) that my order can't be canceled because it was already made. I calmly explained to him that I was told this by his staff, however the policy states that I have before 48 hours to do so. He then continues to repeat the same thing he just said over and over, telling me it can't be cancelled. I told him that I contacted corporate and filed a claim in regards to this and that's when his TRUE colors started to show. He then began to aggressively yell and raise his voice telling me that I can call corporate and that there is nothing they can do because they are an independently owned and operated store. He then quickly tells me I won't be getting a refund for my order. At this point I'm still level headed, but he is clearly agitated because I won't accept this cake. He then proceeds to start SCREAMING about what is he going to do with the cake over and over again and it got so bad I put the call on speaker phone for my mother to hear who was sitting in the room with me. He sounded more like a 5 year old having a temper tantrum than a person in a position of leadership. Finally when he was done being verbally aggressive, I kindly asked what his name was. That is when there was a brief pause on the phone and he proceeds to say "this conversation is over!" and hangs up. Never in my life have I EVER received such customer service from a business's MANAGEMENT team! They are supposed to be trained to keep their composure and have conflict resolution skills. This person blatantly called to badger me into accepting an order I no longer needed. Once he hung up, I IMMEDIATELY called corporate back and this time filed a complaint. I won't be bullied nor disrespected over a cake! I will NEVER step foot inside that location and honestly from reading the reviews, I should have placed this order with another location which I regret. All I know is that this matter could have been easily resolved, but the manager wants to be greedy and hold on to every little penny - even if it goes against Baskin-Robbins's own policy. Do yourself a favor folks and steer clear of this location, especially if you place a cake order. It's not worth the headache or harassment. read more

The employees were very mice and tried to help. The manager was nice and tried to be helpful. My review is about the owner, David, who is the worst. I was buying just a simple 2 scoop order and I ran my card and even added a 25% tip. The screen said the payment was approved, but their system froze and no receipt came out. I was about to leave, but David told me I had to wait. The system was frozen, so they had to unplug everything and reboot it. I pulled up my bank app and showed them the charge went through. It said pending, but it says that on all POS charges for the first day or so. David told me I was wrong, that the charge didn't go through and he's been doing this for 20 years and he knows what he is doing. Meanwhile, I've been waiting 10 minutes with no apology for the inconvenience, just accusations that I didn't pay yet. When the system came back up, he couldn't find a transaction for a double scoop, so he said I needed to swipe my card again. I wasn't about to allow him to charge me twice, so I asked for the store number so I could dispute the charge once it posted. I left the ice cream there, still no apology from David. I called the corporate office twice and emailed them and they keep telling me David is supposed to reach out to me, but he hasn't. I ordered a turkey ice cream cake and I knew within myself this was going to throw the cake makers off guard because here it is, the month of January. When I called around 6pm to make sure of it's being ready, an employee by the name of Jackie had an outstanding attitude. She made it her business to make sure that I like the cake. When I hung up, I thought to myself, "I'm going to eat it. While cares about how it looks". When I got there not only was Jackie very helpful and concerned so was Elizabeth. Came in the day they were training some new staff. The lady helping me was too slow and did not have a grasp in the orders and how their made. Even after taking too long with two orders the young man next to her instead of lending her a hand on the next order he decided to help another young man organizing spoon... meanwhile the manager I'm assuming was unaware of all this and was "training" a crowd of three. Yet, she was too laid back in her training. If any management sees this I recommend in retraining all he staff in costumer service and learning the product including the manager needs to be retrained. A 5-10min trip inside took 30min.
