I ordered an Affogato with a vanilla bean gelato and a small scoop of the Chai tea latte gelato. The Affogato was served in a small plastic cup with plastic spoon. The small scoop of gelato was served in a small paper cup with an even smaller plastic spoon. Both were delicious. The consistency of the gelato is smooth, as expected. A couple of young boys came in after me and sat outside on a bench, then a small group of three adults who were also trying this place out for the first time. And then she said it would be another $7, I was in a hurry, so didn't really put too much thoughts into it, and just charge it. So now I look at my charges, so it turns out the same serving, one is at $7.35 and the other is $7. When I get the ice cream, I asked her, so there nothing that is smaller than this. She said there is, but not in a waffle cone, it will be extra with a waffle cone. So I asked $2.50 in a regular cone and additional $3.50 for the waffle cone? She said yes!! I am still confused as to whether they have a smaller serving than small and how much it is. I check on the pricing people posted here and don't see a $2.50/$3.50 smaller size showing. I had a taste of his taro malted marshmallow and kaya toast, a Singaporan inspired scoop. The base is toasted bread flavored and the swirl is kaya jam. Sweet, creamy, and aromatic! Walking in this place smells like heaven. I instantly loved the sweet smell the moment I walked in. I loved getting a scoop of my ice cream in their ube waffle cup. For an extra $1.50, this added an extra sweet touch. The Sticky Rice + Mango definitely hit the spot. It was so tasty and fruity. Paired with the ube waffle cup, it was the perfect summer treat. $4 Freezes, yes please!…read more I've frequented Bruster's Real Ice Cream a few times for their ice cream but it was the first time recently that I tried their freezes. The freeze consist of 4 scoops of their sherbet, sorbet or Italian ice along with a whole bottle of Sprite. Once in a while, Brusters will have special nights when they do $4 freezes and this was exactly how i got to try my first freeze. The freezes are quite the deal and treat for the summer. They are so refreshing and tasty. I chose to get a peach freeze and enjoyed it a lot. My friend got a black raspberry freeze and this was also quite tasty. For four scoops of a sherbet, a freeze is definitely a treat and an indulgence! I think I may have found my new favorite treat at Brusters.

What was confusing and frustrating was that the customer right before us got one, and then the customer after us was also able to get one. Another gentleman working there even confirmed that they still had it available. When I questioned it, instead of simply explaining the situation, the employee helping us seemed unwilling to make it and gave us attitude. I also asked to sample a couple of other flavors since the item we originally wanted was supposedly unavailable, and her attitude made the whole interaction even more uncomfortable. I completely understand that places run out of items and employees can have difficult days, but this didn't seem to be an availability issue when other customers were being served the exact same thing. It felt like we were simply being refused service for something that was clearly available. We came in expecting a quick, enjoyable ice cream stop, and unfortunately left feeling singled out and disappointed. I hope management looks into what happened and makes sure customers are treated consistently and respectfully.
