At TOUS les JOURS in Torrance, in the market, they offer a wide range of French-Asian inspired bakery items. You can get a treat or something for a special occasion. They have freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries and great breakfast sandwiches. They also have specialty coffee drinks, handcrafted smoothies and freshly brewed teas. The sponge cake slices are one of my favorites. Everything is fresh. The prices are reasonable for what you get. Parking is so easy in the market parking lot. The service is so nice. The Blueberry Cloud Cake is the hidden gem of this bakery - IYKYK - so light, so fresh and the blueberries are huge and tasty. I received this cake as a gift and have since bought it for others as a gift and it is always the hit of the party. Perfect birthday gift and everyone loves it! I've never eaten such a terrible curry bread. From the very first bite, I could tell it had been fried in old oil, and the curry filling tasted like store-bought curry roux with a strange flavor--it was hard to tell whether it was supposed to be spicy or sweet. The female manager was unfriendly, didn't say a single word, and didn't even offer a greeting. It's hard to believe they can stay in business like that. I have mixed feeling about the cakes here as I ordered two within the same week and different opinions on both. The first cake I got, the Chocolate heart cake, did not taste very fresh and the sponge part of the cake tasted as if it were frozen and old. I had a piece of Tous Les Jours blueberry yogurt cake at a birthday party months ago and I hadn't been able to forget it. It would come back to me at odd times when I was craving something a little sweet but not too sugary. I finally went there the Thursday before Easter and bought one. I would have bought the smaller size but my husband, who was with me, saw the price difference between it and the large was very small so we took the large. I wondered how we would eat it all but we were having family for Easter and I thought they would help us. That same night my husband asked for a piece after dinner. I'd thought to save it uncut for Easter but it was big enough so we cut into it. The cake flavor was everything I remembered! It's light with a delicate blueberry flavor and the layers are divided by lightly sweetened whipped cream and a few blueberries. It is topped with the same whipped cream and a few more blueberries. In the chaos of a potluck Easter meal, including some homemade Easter cookies, we forgot to offer cake. As it turns out between us and our son, we had no problem finishing it over the next days. It stayed just as fresh and delicious as the day we bought it! I plan to go back to try the cream peach one next! I haven't been to too many free standing Tous Les Jours locations but I am really impressed with the selection here despite its size. It's conveniently located at the exit of HMart. Convenient because it really draws my attention each time as I'm leaving. I've orders their various ice coffees and breads and they are all delicious. The melon bread is light and refreshing but my favorite is the strawberry soft bread. The strawberry bread has dollops of strawberry cream in the center and it's heavenly. I wouldn't come again because not only did they mess up. They took no accountability or apologized or tried to make it right in any way. They gave my cake to somebody else. I ordered a birthday cake the day before for pick up the next day and when we went to pick up they said that someone else picked it up already. They didnt ask to check for receipt or anything to confirm it was their order. They didn't help in anyway but kept repeating to get a refund through doordash. Doordash put my refund under review since the store marked it completed and that we picked up. They didn't have any of that cake anymore so we were stuck with no birthday cake for my sister right before we were supposed to meet them. I've visited another location many years before and found Tous Les Jours then to be just average. This was not the case however when I visited this Tous Les Jours inside the Torrance H-mart. They had quite a selection but the one bread that really caught my eye was their Milk Bread. They had original and strawberry and looked to be so soft. I chose to get a Strawberry Milk Bread and indeed it was such a soft, fluffy delight. I could tell it was freshly made and it practically melted in my mouth. There as also a wonderful sweet strawberry cream inside. It was light and sweet and great for a small little snack. I think it would also be amazing with coffee and may need to get myself a cup of fresh brew from here as well. Overall I am happy that this visit to this Tous Les Jours was a lot better than a previous experience I had elsewhere. Their food selection is great and I always enjoy purchasing a sweet frank roll. The only downside is the staff member who I think is the manager. She's very pushy and in your business, asking if you want to purchase more to get a free item. It's a Korean bakery, and everything looks delicious! I literally want to purchase and eat everything! Yummy looking donuts and pretty little cakes; too much for the eyes to really take in. However, I was able to decide one one thing this time and had the kimchi croquette. I would describe it as a kimchi filled donut, but not sweet. Tucked inside an H-mart is this lovely bakery that's filled with pastries, cake, and coffee. I've bought cake for 2 separate occasions, one for my dads birthday and a just cause we have everyone coming. The people helping us are lovely and very eager to help. The cakes are so cute! Surprisingly they are not too sweet. My dad is very picky with cakes, he claims that everything is too sweet for him, but this cake he enjoyed it so much he was getting seconds and thirds! Honestly my first impression of this place is not that great based on how traditional and annoying the owner or manager was. Made a mistake on order and still insisted that I'm supposed to pay $5 over a cake decoration that says "Happy Birthday". Followed us around as we select pastries. Very forceful about going to the other side to select her recommendations of pastries. Overall I was super annoyed by the owner given that I've been a customer for many years. Why is it 5 star? After looking past the boss lady's behavior Chris which is one of the baker who is super friendly and helpful. I needed a cake decor that is not part of their themed cake and they still decorated it with the decor I provided. The decor showed heart and it showed that they are willing to change and do their customers right. Note to the older boss lady, please treat your employees extra nice. Without them I wouldn't come back to your store. And for the love of God, STOP following your customers around. It's not a jewelry store, it is baked goods. Trust me, no one wants to steal bread from you. You are located in an affluent neighborhood. Trust people more. There stood a petite lady that greeted us with a welcoming smile and a wooden platter, who guided us to their little section of French-Asian inspired pastry goods. She was very attentive and asked us if we needed help and even explained what was in certain pastries as we looked around. She went as far as to ask us what we liked and disliked.
