Several of us had to spell out our orders to have the person behind the register hear us. The older dark haired woman who seemed to be the manager was in a foul mood and was rude to every single customer with whom she interacted. They were busy but none of the customers she was rude to deserved that treatment. I ordered avocado toast and it was pre-made,dry, and bland. The avocados weren't ripe and lay in slices on old bread along with a sliced hard boiled egg and a small tasteless unripe green/red tomato. Vanilla Latte = Hot Milk Lemonade. I had such high hopes for this little joint in Sonoma. My honey and I stopped in after mass around 10am and the place was packed with people. I thought this was a good sign. I was wrong. The menu is really confusing and the staff are tense and stressed. It was a 30 minute wait from ordering our paninis to receiving them. My latte somehow tasted like lemon. My honey's black dark roast coffee smelled like a rubber tire and tasted like vinegar. I was extra exhasperated with my sando. I had ordered a veggie panini thinking it was the breakfast variety with egg. However, there are two types of veggie panini one for breakfast one for lunch. These are listed on two different menue boards. I ordered from the breakfast board a veggie panini. My order taker didn't tell me there were two types. Naturally, he marked me down for the more expensive, eggless, lunch panini. The only reason I found out there were two kinds was because another customer questioned it within earshot. Lastly, the lady calling out names for order pickup sounded like a shrill banshee. She screetched names a minimum of 5 times for each order. All in all, I'm not coming back. If you want a solid latte in Sonoma, I highly recommend Harvey's Donut Bar just down the street. Harvey himself took my order and had his barista explicitly make me a "Vanilla Latte, No Lemon". Don't go here! There is nothing French about it. I didn't have a croissant but they look terrible which is how I gauge a French bakery. They were rude in service. I went in the morning and ordered oatmeal and after paying for it they said they could not produce it because the barista was too busy to make oatmeal. They offered a refund on the oatmeal, but would not refund us when we asked to cancel the whole order. We ordered our coffee drink with half and half and asked the barista to check that it was going to be with half-and-half she wouldn't answer us. Turned her back on us. Just in town for few hours, looking for a local place to have a nice cup of coffee and sweet bread and saw Boulangerie. I like the name so we decided to stop and check it out. I am glad we did. Their Jeremiah's coffee is very good and the sweets ... oh the sweets ... such a selection. The sweet breads are tasty and fresh. They even have a shelf of discounted bread for purchase. The prices are reasonable and the cashiers are polite and patience while you try to figure out which of the sweets you should select. The Iced Coffee was perfectly fine, it is really just hot coffee poured over ice. They have you add cream and sugar to your liking. The Guava & Cheese Pastry was good, but poorly designed, as you could not get a bite of both flavors at once. Quantity: The Large Iced Coffee was big, but the strange cup it was served in made it seem like they failed to give me a full pour. Value: $3.50 for a Large Iced Coffee. $4.50 for a Guava & Cheese Pastry. Ambiance: Basque Boulangerie Cafe is located along the Plaza in Sonoma, California. The shop is quite large inside, and seems strange without any tables or chairs set up. Instead it was a wide open room with just two long counters hugging the walls. The display case up front shows a lot of appetizing goodies, and led me to order a pastry. Outside they have a few tables under an awning and then a makeshift patio in the street. Several guests were on computers, while others were looking over region maps. Crowd: It was a popular spot on Friday morning, with a mix of working folks and customers that appeared ready for a day of wine-tasting. The main reason I wanted to try Basque Boulangerie is probably due to the times I've walked by the cafe at night when they were closed while they're preparing for the morning. Nice spot for a quick grab and go! Basque Boulangerie has plenty of options for pastries (both savory and sweet) but they have plenty of made to order sandwiches available as well. I was able to try the Ham and Cheese Croissant as well as the the Croque Monsieur. They were both very tasty but they were on the pricey side (for food reason)! I would highly suggest trying out their pastries, they not only look good but taste great as well. Expect to take your food to go just because the place fills up quickly! This is Angel Christina Lopez, as you can seen or have seen the owner Harleen took down my review for the 6th time. All I have to say is she is extremely rude to the employees she made a racist comment about me and my mother she does not respect me. She gave me more hours when she knew I was still in high school I sometimes miss my breaks never on time because she does not know how to handle her business. Customer would Get upset with us because they would have to pay using their credit card when she put it like that. The desserts are frozen. She verbally abused me for more than 20 minutes in her office took her anger out on me. I was always nice to customers and many will recognize me because they would say I was a nice person, yet the owner disagreed because she didn't like me. My mother defended me when the owner was verbally abusing me then all of the sudden the owner cries victim and tells my coworkers that we harassed her. And it's true because coworkers that I still talk to to this day tell me she still verbally abuses them. I will not stop until I get an apology from her because honestly she is unprofessional very disrespectful does not care about us just the money, and honestly the owner before her who was her brother is way better and way more mature than her you can ask any customer that has known the owner before and they will tell you everything was better. read more

We got the beehive and is THE BOMB! Loved it more than we expected. I ordered a veggie quiche... Sadly, I got the wrong one and had to go back to return it and lost 30 minutes. By the time I got that corrected, the sandwich was mega cold =( . Food was bland. The quiche's crust was not cooked completely. By that time I was not driving back. Basque is small and simple, with a quaint parisian feel. Seating is minimal, but there are several tables outside to dine in. Their pastry case is plentiful, with both sweet and savory goodies. For lunch, I landed on their croque madame, which is a long-time favorite of mine. Theirs was no exception! The ham was sweet and flavorful. The mustard was subtle, but complimentary. The egg was a little small for my liking, and also was more cooked. Usually, I like my yolks a little runny. However, it didn't take anything away from my experience. They also have a pretty decent selection of bottled beverages, in addition to their coffee offerings. I accompanied my meal with a refreshing bottle of Orangina. The coffee tastes worse than gas station coffee. The hazelnut latte tasted like bitter burnt beans and was waaaaay too hot. They were also pretty rude about me wanting to use a reusable cup. I poured it out and went around the corner to the juice shop which surprisingly made a much better latte. Indescribably rude. The croissants are Starbucks level and a complete embarrassment to any bakery with self respect. I don't know what happened to this place, were they sold? Because if you look at the recent reviews this place seems to have driven off a cliff about a month ago. I don't remember the baked goods being this bad four months ago. The difference is dramatic and appalling. Now the pastry here is CostCo gooey, rubbery, and borderline stale, the coffee is bitter and tepid, and everybody behind the counter is SCREAMING names all the time, which surely must be a violation of the Geneva Convention at eight o'clock in the morning. They seem to like their regulars but if you're not one of them then you get treated like a bug. Seriously, the woman behind the counter literally dropped our bag of pastry from a foot above the counter like, 'Now get the ***k out of here." Oh, and apparently they don't want to go through the trouble and/or cost of updating the prices on their menu boards so there's a handwritten sign taped to the register telling you they'll be charging an extra $1.50 on your items. WTF? Seriously, I can't recommend you spend your money here unless you find yourself thinking, "You know, I'm just enjoying life too much," or you've been the victim of a major leak at a laughing gas factory. Because starting your day off on a bummer is not my cup of tea, tea which will invariably be dishwater warm and the wrong order. This is a great little discovery in Sonoma near the Mission. Cute little coffee shop plus so much more. The menu includes choices like Croq Monsieur and Croq Madame.
