Didn't expect to buy anything from this store, just went to see it but came out with a tool I needed to clean my flintlock musket which was really handy! Although more variety of rounds would be great, since they didn't carry the rounds I needed. The layout is very good, and the outdoor feeling with the animals did "wow" me. Mind you, I've never been to one. I look forward to seeing the others ones people are talking about, this one seems to be a good start. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable on their product. Really nice location, in a good spot. Lots of parking too! It's like an adult Disneyland, with lots of fun toys and hobby needs. Same atmosphere as other locations but with a slightly smaller selection, but with that being said, we found what we needed with no problems. I do have to give a shout out to JAMES. He was absolutely wonderful in helping us with our firearm needs/questions. He took the time to make sure he gave us plenty of options and suggestions. But really, on top of that, every single worker there was kind, even if it was just a greeting or a smile. Could not recommend this place highly enough. For most Southern Californians, walking into any Outdoor World would make your jaw drop. These stores reconnect the modern human back to nature in a unique and fun way. And similarly to places like Target & Costco, it also is a dangerous place to be if you don't have a shopping list that you strictly adhere to. But the absolute best parts about this store are the team members. These are some of the kindest, friendliest, coolest, and funniest folks you'll ever meet. I have had a dozen or so encounters with them--several encounters lasting more than an hour--and each experience leaves me feeling better than I did before I got there. Yes... the gear, the merch, the tools, the toys, and the atmosphere are all super cool. But the people at Bass Pro Shops are what makes visiting the store that much more pleasant and something I always look forward to. read more

Terrible Customer Service, Beware! I bought a brand new reel from the Bass Pro Shop in Irvine just two weeks ago. After only using it a couple of times (literally less than 100 casts), I noticed a serious problem -- when retrieving slowly and the spool is all the way down, it catches and sometimes the catch is so bad the reel completely stops retrieving. Obviously, this is not normal for a brand new reel. So I brought it back to the store expecting a simple exchange, since it's within their return policy and barely used. But the staff gave me the most ridiculous response -- the guy checking the reel told me, "Since you've already used it, you need to contact Shimano, pay them, and get it fixed yourself." Excuse me? I bought this reel from YOU, not Shimano. The reel was clearly defective from the start, and instead of taking any responsibility as a seller, they basically blamed me, as if I broke it! Absolutely unacceptable. I don't even live nearby -- I drove all the way from San Diego, which takes almost two hours with traffic. Total waste of time. Be warned: the reels they sell might be defective like mine, and there's no way to know until you actually use them -- but once you do, Bass Pro Shop won't stand behind their products. Their customer service is a joke. Also most of their stuff is overpriced and their staff constantly push their Bass Pro brand products. Super lame business practice. Purchased a firearm online and when I received notification that it was ready for pick up I went there immediately and had to wait an hour because they haven't received it yet. They brought the gun out. I noticed that the yellow safety clip around the chamber was not installed sitting on the side When I asked they said they took it off during the inspection when it arrived. They probably handed me the fire arm. It looked good until I turned it over and it was severely scratched. They tried to pawn off a damaged firearm that was expensive. I think it was shipped Damaged and they got taken sell it without me noticing the damage. I was excited about getting this firearm and picking it up and I couldn't be more disappointed, and I question the integrity of the employees working in my arm himself. First, let me start by saying this place is huge and very nice to go. Take a look at any and everything you possibly wanna buy for the great outdoors. My huge grippe with this place are the people that come in there to do the shopping. People bring dogs, the dogs take dumps or pee and the owners don't pick it up. I've even had a conversation with the person that works there and they told me this happens all the time. Again, let me preference by saying this place is super Duper nice to go shopping and spend tons of money on the great outdoor outdoors. It's just that this place is not a daycare. I see unsupervised kids running around in this place. If you are to go to this particular bass pro shop make sure you know exactly what you're buying so you can go and buy it and leave. This has nothing to do with the people who work there or bass pro shop as a hole. It's just said that customers can make a place seem quite terrible. read more

Firearm related stay away. So many reasons to go over. But for one having 1 person doing ammo sales on one of the busiest weeks of the year is absolutely crazy. Every person has to do a background check. That's at least 10-15 minutes per transaction and with 10 people waiting in line...you expect us to wait 3-4 hours for ammo?!? read more

First time in this store. I have been to a few in other areas. They all seem to struggle on some level, but they try to improve. Not so at the Irvine store. Went there to purchase a sale item (Shotgun Optic). I saw the many one star reviews about this store's gun counter. They all seem to be valid. I checked in soon as I arrived. There were 4 customers ahead of me. I waited 2 hours with absolutely no movement. I did see a few people walk up without checking in, it appeared they were greeted and helped ahead of the waiting customers. Many of the staff seemed to be aimlessly walking around, not offering service to anyone. While waiting I found the item at another dealer and left the store. As a hunter and outdoorsman I have visited many gun counters. Some good, some not so good. The Bass Pro Shop in Irvine has the worse gun counter I have ever experienced. I will not be returning. I will warn my family and friends not to do business there. read more

They really need to have signs with how the process works and LIMIT the amount of time one person can look at guns. Purchased a garmin inreach mini 2 here and the item wasn't in the box. I went back to return it and they denied my return. I tried to dispute it with manger but he wasn't in. I asked for the manager to call me and follow up. No call. I called a week later and asked for manager, they said the manager would call me back and still no call back. Terrible customer service. Arrived around 7:30pm and did some birthday shopping for family. When we got to the cashier #3 around 8:00pm ish, the cashier was rude. He was at the cashier nearest to door. Was a little confused with the double cashiers and asked the cashier, if he was open (not sure if he was just assisting a return for a customer. He just looked at me and said, "yea" in a way of tone like "duh". I said thank you and sorry and explained I did realize it was an active cashier since not familiar with the double cashier per lane. My daughter and I were next and he proceeded to check us out. He never asked how are you or did you find everything ok? No small talk at all. And that was for both of our separate transactions. He also, threw the receipt in the bags without letting us know. My daughter asked him a question during her check out, if he had scanned something already (because she wanted to have that item in her transaction) and he did not answer her, I then figured it out and answered my daughter. He was just not customer service friendly, at all. Highly disappointed for a new location we love and spent lots of money there since it opened. read more

This is not the Bass Pro Shops you're looking for. This puny little abbreviated version is an insult to the mighty Bass Pro name. The store is not even a quarter of the size of a real Bass Pro. The positive reviews you're reading are from people who have never been to a real Bass Pro Shops store and as such don't understand how much they are missing out on. There is a reason why people are known to drive 200+ miles to visit a real Bass Pro where you can spend the entire day and not see all of the store. This one you've seen it all in ten minutes since it is a converted Walmart that wasn't even large enough to be a Super Center, it was a regular store. It feels like a bootleg Bass Pro. It doesn't have any of the fun features like a steakhouse or seafood restaurant, shooting gallery, fudge shop or any of the other experiences you find at a real Bass Pro with the full selection of services and offerings. The store is clearly struggling with its bad reputation and as such is barely staffed with only two registers open so expect a wait if you can find anything. Prices are good like any other Bass Pro, especially on their house brands but the selection is so reduced that you simply won't find as much fun stuff to buy as the other stores. If you're interested in the real Bass Pro experience you won't find it here. Go to the Rancho Cucamonga location instead, that is a real Bass Pro. read more

I was hesitant to buy a firearm after reading all of the reviews regarding the terrible service. However, my experience was as smooth as it could be considering how busy this place gets. I waited about 20 min to check out the firearm. They did ask me up front if I was interested in buying or just looking. I told the employee I was ready to buy if they had what I wanted. The process took about an hour total including wait time. I returned 11 days later to pick it up, on a Tuesday evening around 5pm. (They add an extra day to avoid customers arriving before the designated pick up time on the 10th day). The employee checked me in and I was 4th in line. The wait time was 27 minutes. The actual check out process took about 45 minutes, with a total of 3 employees required to review my paperwork. The employee informed me they are being audited by the DOJ and closely watched by the ATF, so I believe they are being extra careful to dot their i's and cross their t's. Overall the employees were courteous and helpful, and the entire process was about what I would expect from such a busy location. I'd buy here again. read more

The employees that work in the gun section are horrible. They seem like they do not want to sell you a gun unless it is a gun they like. I asked the attendant about the differences between two firearms from the same manufacturer, and he told me to go to the other Bass Pro in Rancho Cucamonga. After a quick Google search, I found that the guns were exactly the same. After purchasing the firearm from another attendant, I asked what the difference between the guns was, and he said they were the same. On my pickup day, I arrived at 7:45 PM. There were no QR codes posted to get in line, so I asked an attendant behind the counter if I could check in for a gun pickup. He said it might be too late and that he would find out. Thirty minutes later, I was told I had to come back because the cutoff time to pick up guns is 8 PM. I had driven 1 hour and 15 minutes for nothing. I will never go to this Bass Pro again. read more

I purchased a firearm online that was being shipped to this bass pro shop. They never messaged me to notify me that my order had shown up. I found out about a week after it was delivered, and I had to follow up. Then, when I showed up to do the paperwork, they told me it was going to be an hour long wait and I had to leave without doing it because it would've ended up being closer to two hours by the time I was seen. I love coming to Bass Pro Shops. The employees are always friendly, and the store has great prices. However, the customer service, especially at the firearm/ammo counter, is painfully slow. I went to pick up a firearm I had already purchased, and despite being 2nd in line, it still took 2.5 hours to complete the process. The staff gets flustered when it gets busy, bouncing between tasks without actually finishing anything... it's like the entire store has ADHD. I want everyone who is thinking about buying a regency boat to please please please do your homework. I bought a brand new 250 LE3 boat right before summer this year. Spent nearly $100k on this boat and was very excited about my purchase. I have taken the boat out 3 times to the lake and have had nothing but problems - the steering lines are leaking oil all over the boat under the center console - 5 of the 6 seat back storage are broken due to a poor design. They use the fabric for hinges w small staples that pull right out - All 3 gates have had the magnets pull out that keep the gates/doors open - 2 of the 3 gates don't stay closed due to the handles coming loose. Each one of them flies open when the boat is moving - The lower storage area takes on water. Apparently the bilge pump float is broken as well as a hose bracket - The snaps on the Bimini broke off - The mercury v10 engine had a recall - The power throttle unit has had a recall - Oh and in case they don't tell you, you drive with the Bimini up. So on a hot day you have to decide if you want shade or to drive the boat. When you lower the Bimini you also have to put the boot cover on the Bimini or it flaps all over. Don't worry they recommend using bungee cords to tie it down if you don't want to have to zip the boot on and off every time Lastly - don't worry it takes months to get your boat fixed under warranty Feel free to DM me with any questions as this is all 1000% true When I contacted the corporate office the told me to talk to the store about what's covered under warranty !!! Ok I needed to do an update with this spot! Went in again to pick up some stuff and of course it's shoping Mecca today. With all the sales this place is packed! But not so much that paying and getting stuff is unreasonable. Went to the ammo counter where they updated with three guys. Steve was super helpful at getting everything I needed and then he gave me the club card info. Saved some money and got a great card at a super rate and 0.0% if I spent 500.00. Well that was easy. And two free hats. They print out the card right on the spot. It literally took 15 minutes. I have to say the service today was off the charts. Everyone was super friendly and willing to help. Now this is customer service. And to the prior review written it seems they have addressed all the issues I had before. Way to hit it out of the park! So if you're looking for any kind of gear from hunting to camping and so many cool accessories or gifts everything is on sale! No one can beat their ammo and firearm pricing. Went in to buy a firearm and won't come back. When I arrived I waited about 20 min before I was entered into their virtual queuing system. While waiting I've observed several employees hanging out having casual conversations while several other customers were waiting. After half an hour of waiting the majority of the employees either went on break or left leaving only 2-3 employees to help the waiting customers. This place was like the natural history museum but for non education purposes :p !! The kids would definitely loveee coming here, i enjoyed it so much I felt like a little kid. The store is so big with so many taxidermy animals, a huge fish tank, and loads of boats and Atvs to sit in. The good: The overall experience is wonderful with like minded people and upbeat, pro-America culture. Their product offerings are fantastic and one couldn't ask for more! The Not-so good: Their operations at the gun counter need efficiency improvements. Too often employees are standing around behind the counter while customers are waiting for help (looking, asking questions, purchasing, pick up). These employees often say," I'm not on (name the position) detail." I understand having designated jobs but when wait time exceed 1-3 hours, some change needs to occur. Final Thoughts: I genuinely like Cabela's and I'm glad they opened one up in Irvine. They just need to improve operations. read more
