Me & My boyfriend came by here this afternoon & had the best experience! All of the food was served hot & fresh & the lechon was perfectly crispy! We dont have many filipino restaurants in our area so I am happy to support. This place is pretty good and focuses on Batchoy (soup). I enjoy their batchoy and lumpia. We tried batchoyan for the first time today and it was delightful! My wife and I shared the beef batchoyan, a steaming bowl of flavorful goodness, and so satisfying on a cool October afternoon. We also tried the dynamite lumpia--crispy and delicious with just a little jalapeño kick. We ate inside, and although the place was bustling, the staff seemed to do a great job of serving customers and keeping the place squeaky clean. We'll be back for sure! read more

Best tasting Ilonggo Batchoy (noodle soup) by far! Worth the 1 hour drive from Los Angeles. Prices are just right and must try the other food items as well (lechon kawali/ bang-bang garlic). We went here due to intrigue. We wanted to try it out since we are quite near it while shopping at Camarillo outlets. If it was possible to give zero stars then we would. The ambience is nice but the food is quite the opposite. Not one or two but all the food we ordered were mediocre. It did not have any distinct taste. According to my son, my cooking was better than all that we ordered. I hate to admit, but for once my cooking was better than what you buy in a restaurant. Especially one that has a name that makes it seem like it's their specialty. As much as we would like to keep certain businesses up and running this would be an exception. Pls stay clear of this place. Their crispy pata has a blunt taste and their sauce is just plain old soy sauce without any added ingredients. The instant batchoy taste way better than the one they claim to specialize in. My family and I will never go back to this place. Wow! The flavor profiles of their food are incredible. The batchoy had delicious egg noodles with a nice al dente chew. It totally hit the spot on a cloudy day like today. The beef Nilaga had tender cuts of beef, fresh vegetables, and a slightly spicy broth with complex flavors served over hot steamed rice. This review is for their Original batchoy.. The original batchoy was salty and the ingredients ( pork ,liver, etc ) are cut into small bite size pieces. the egg for an additional $ 1.00 was small too. I think its pricey and the quality is not there... $ 11.99 for the original batchoy . Plus $ 1.00 for a small egg. About $ 14.00 w/ tax. The batchoy quality is not there and it is served in a disposable bowl. Felt like eating a big serving of cup of noodles. There are good Ramen places around the area that serve ramen noodles in ceramic bowls with good quality and value and priced less. However, its good to know that there is a nice clean place to have filipino food near the shopping outlet. Will try their other dishes next time. Omg! Leche sa sarap! First time I tried this restaurant and I ordered pancit canton, grilled pork belly and halo halo. They're all delicious!!! I read some are saying that they're pricey but not really coz their serving size is big. Like their pancit is $14 but 3-4 people can probably share it. The grilled pork belly is soooo gooood. It reminds me of home. Not to mention, I was not that hungry when I ordered food so I thought it'll be just "eh", but I was wrong! The restaurant is clean and the environment is friendly. The old lady that gave me my order even asked me, " Neng Kaya mo ba?" when she saw me struggling carrying both my son and my order. Lol. Will definitely come back. An awesome gem of Filipino food and as a fellow Filipina, I must say for our first time visiting this restaurant since its inception even though we live nearby besides the other Filipino restaurant locally. I'm very pleased to know that with my Filipino taste buds, I have the options of this restaurant in Camarillo and that restaurant in Ventura. The Batchoy Soup and its broth were heavenly ! So were the Fried Lumpia! Next time we will try different dishes especially the platters when we bring our friends or family to Batchoy! read more

Very DISAPPOINTED!!! As Filipino I went to this restaurant with anticipation. My foodie friend and I ordered the Original Batchoy, Sotanghon, Lumpia, Pork Belly and Mais con Yelo - not cheap. They simply did not get anything right. The Sotanghon did not taste like one. The meats in the bokchoy tasted old and dry. The lumpias are so small, could barely taste it. The liempo strips are just oily with no distinct flavor. The mais con yelo was just flat. We were shaking our heads and could not believe it was so bad. We were supposed to bring to-gos but decided to throw them in the trash. Mga Kababayan, do not waste time and money. There are other Filipino restaurants somewhere else. We focus more on tadte and quality and not on background history. read more

We don't mind the 2 hour drive for their batchoy. It's the most authentic and reminds me so much of home. Their lumpia shanghai and sisig are to die for. Their halo-halo packs a lot of flavor and texture and is the best way to cool down especially this summer. Just do not blame the halo-halo if you are lactose intolerant. I had been wanting to try this for a while and finally got a chance today. Overall it wasn't bad but I was expecting a fine experience and certainly did not receive one. I had one of their standard dishes which had a nice broth and beef. The noodles seemed to be a little bit hard and very standard nothing impressive. They had Chicharrón which I've always known to be very crunchy and delicious, but they're just added to the soup and the second you receive it they're all completely waterlogged with the crunch long since a memory. I ended up fishing out those pieces as I didn't see what they were adding. Perhaps instead of soggy Chicharrón they should give it to you on the side so you can either eat it or have it with each spoon of soup while it's still crunchy and delicious. The people running it seem nice and I received my food quickly. Just wasn't an incredible experience. The broth was nice and very garlicky and the place is very clean and organized so thumbs up on those fronts. read more

Hard to judge fairly when you take out food. The batchyan is a noodle soup similar to ramen. It was more noodle than broth and didn't have much meat in it. The grilled "milk fish" was delicious. I will try again. So hard for restaurants these days I want to give them all a fair chance. read more

Me and my Fiancé went to try this place out because she was bugging me about it. I must say it was hands down amazing the batchoyan was delicious. It was very flavorful and each bite was like heaven! Also would like to mention the service crew were very friendly and were very attentive even as it was busy. We enjoyed our original and beef batchoy, it really tasted like back home. We also ordered their liempo which our kids shared and enjoyed. All their servings were pretty generous, I'd say shareable between 2-3 people. If this place is only closer, we would be back often. read more

It was a Sunday, I was lazy to cook so I decided to try out Batchoyan. Prior to today, I was hesitant because I had been hearing mixed reviews about the food here. But it was just too convenient since my house was just a couple of blocks away. I ordered the lechon kawali. I was going to pair it with some lumpiang sariwa but they didn't have that today. So just the lechon kawali then. At first glance, I liked the quantity. A pound of cooked meat. When I got home, the disappointment started creeping in. The lechon kawali I'm used to is pork belly that has crispy skin and tender meaty portions. This was cubed pork, skin on, deep fried. Overall, the meat was tender but the skin was not crispy at all. The outer part of the meaty portion was too cooked resulting in a crispy outer portion and thankfully a tender interior but it was pretty dry. It was not well seasoned, so it needed the dipping sauce, which was spicy vinegar. I'll eat it because I never like wasting food. I will come back perhaps on another Sunday, but I will definitely order another dish. read more

We drove an hour to have lunch to this place. We got there, the staff was on their phone, not very attentive. We ordered our food, to find out they don't have all the ingredients. My friend who doesn't eat pork, but that's all they have. We asked if we can order without the meat since they don't have any other meat. The said NO. When we got our food, it was very disappointing.
