Nah, I wouldn't do this again. I was on my way from place #1 to place #2 and wanted fried catfish. I Yelped a place near and ordered. Typical strip mall, this place is located in the corner. There are bars everywhere, and your food is given through the heavy plastic. Such is a sign of the times. Service was meh. The ?owner? played on his phone instead of greeting me, and the young lady who ?was the cook? came up to exchange my order. #1: my cat fillet had bones! #2: the fries were frozen fried. You know, still got that fake cold potato taste. #3: the strips were on the smaller versus full side

5 extremely undersized Buffalo pieces --exactly 1/2 the usual size--and 5 jumbo shrimp.

UPDATE: Our order of a Bates Family Meal --16 pcs Fish + 30 medium shrimp; 2 large sides; hush puppies; dinner rolls. Excellent service, well-packaged, ready right on time. As far as the fish and shrimp: perfectly seasoned and fried. Plus the size of the individual pieces--8 catfish, 8 red snapper--had resumed their previous size. Pricey? Yes...as is everything these days. Overall evaluation: A

The food hit the spotttt! Their tartar sauce is homemade and it did not disappoint. The owners were very kind and service was great. I would recommend this to literally everyone and what a great experience I had trying this for the first time

This place is so delish! The batter is different where it's very light and not too thick. My favorite was the Jumbo Shrimp! The shrimp is still juicy and flavorful after being fried. The sauce is homemade and unique! Their Coleslaw is also so unique and refreshing! There are hints of pineapple inside~

    Garlic roll given! So good

They flash fry, so seafood is raw in the middle. Nice outer-flavor though. Be warned.

Wow!!! Recently came here because my friends took me and I was super happy to finally shop here!!!…read moreThis is apparently the largest Japanese market in Gardena (and all of California). It's a very big store that somehow doesn't look as big from the outside, but there are so many things to highlight from here. We were in a city nearby but decided to stop by here because my friends wanted to buy some ingredients. This store was a delight for me as it was so big!!! My favorite section was the many Japanese merchandise of clothes, plushes, and desserts!!! It was super tempting to not buy something haha and I ended up grabbing the box of iconic mango ice cream popsicles!!! It was super yummy and was to my full liking. We ate it straight from the box because we didn't want it to melt in the car ride home. It was super refreshing and delicious. Other highlights was the hot foods bar and lots of Japanese beauty products.

They have a lot of premade food options. Some are decently priced and some are on the pricier side…read more If you go at 7pm or latter they do mark down lol the sushi and other premade food by 20% off. The thing that's good about going to Tokyo central for premade sushi is that they make all their sushi fresh daily and what's not sold is marked down and got rid of before next day compared to other markets where they sell their sushi that's like 2-4 days old. They went viral for awhile for having a hot food bar, which looked like a buffet but in reality you grab what you want but it's $15.99 a pound. The pound adds up really quick and you end with paying like $30. The food isn't that great in the hot food bar in my option so I'd skip it. The market itself is very pricey it's not a cheap market. So if your planning on buying grocery your gonna pay high prices. I'd go here for a quick sushi roll or some mochi they sell a bag from Japan for $3.99 with red bean that's pretty good. One of my favorite food item is the umami chicken karage with rice that's pre packaged and if you can snag it while it's still hot that great. Its usually on a separate table on in the refrigerated section, It's the one with some teriyaki sauce over it, not the regular one. As you exit you can grab utensils, napkins, wasabi. ginger, soy sauce. Parking is a hit and miss, it's a popular market if you go there at lunch time it's packed or weekends. Personally I drop by to get a quick bite, sushi roll or chicken karage . They do have a food court that has a Japanese bakery, takoyaki , a katsu place. Upstairs they have a sushi bar which is unique I havnt tried it but seems a bit pricey but looks like quality. Looking for something Japanese in food wise, this would be one of the places to go to look for it. I don't know why it seems like every Asian market I've been to is so cramped and hardly any space when trying to get around with a cart. It's the same here.

It was so good, I went there three times this week. Yes, you read that right. I wanted to try everything. The must haves are the red snapper, fried oysters and fried jumbo shrimp. The runner ups are the catfish, the filet of sole and fried medium shrimp. Crispy golden batter to die for. The tartar sauce is amazing and has a kick. Mix it with the hot sauce for a different flavor. They have collard greens, fries, hush puppies and salad for the sides. All good but I wish they had rice. For desert they have sweet potato pie and cobbler. Wash it all down with a strawberry Fanta, Shasta Tiki Punch or a Cactus Cooler for the win. This place is a real find!
