I have been to a lot of spas in metro NYC area. Banya's are my absolute favorite! With that being said; Bath House Flatiron location is on a completely different level. The experience at check in alone had me hooked. You are cordially welcomed, your QR code is in your email. Wherein you do not need to speak with a live person. Love the check in experience with the extra large tablet on the wall, wherein you get a bracelet that controls your locker, and purchases in the cafe. No need to worry about cash. From the second you walk down that sleek, dimly lit entrance, you will feel like you are being transported out of Manhattan and into a futuristic wellness sanctuary. The design is stunning--dark, moody, and incredibly clean. I spent most of my time rotating between the thermal pools, the cold plunge is an experience I highly recommend. With meditation I lasted 2 minutes submerged to my chin. This was not always the case. It took patience, and deep breathing. The saunas are perfect, loved the infrared sauna, dry sauna, and steam room. The staff is professional, attentive, and they manage the flow of people perfectly so it never feels overcrowded. Yes, it's a splurge depending on the time you choose, but for the quality of the facilities and the pure relaxation you get, it's 100% worth it. Can't wait to come back! Pro-tip: Weekends are busy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Bathhouse-Flatiron. We booked massages and full body scrubs which came with full day passes to the bathhouse. There are kiosk in the lobby to check in for your appointment with wristbands giving at that time. You didn't go down until the locker room to change into your swimwear and issued shower shoes. There are several hot tubs, cold plunges, steam room, saunas and regular soaking pools. I like that there was a quiet area because the larger area was very noisy. There is also a café with beverages and snacks available for purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointments and the showers available to change after your time at the bathhouse, I now want to visit the location in Brooklyn.

Overall, I love this place. The decor had bougie, meditative vibes, though the general vibe felt more social because the place was fairly busy, with lots of groups chatting. There is a "Quiet Area", but it only has a lukewarm saltwater pool and some lounging space. I saw people napping there. Seemed nice. Some logistical details: Slippers are provided. No nudity, so bring some sort of bathing suit. While they call it a "Day Pass", there's no re-entry. Prices escalate as the day goes on so I recommend early in the day to try you first time if you can manage it. From the website and signage, there's no phones or devices allowed, but the cafe area, there were multiple people on laptops and phones, and there was a wifi hotspot. So that area is available. It was approaching the new year, and I wanted to do some journaling so I ended up bouncing between the pools and eating/drinking at the cafe with my laptop. Spent 6 hours total. Great time and totally worth the money. Signage was hard for first-timers like me but you get used to it. Like, it was small print on a black placard against black walls. I had trouble even finding it. And then two adjacent rooms would be labeled "dry sauna" and "banya" but I wasn't sure what the difference was between them, and it's not like I could pull out my phone to google it because phones aren't allowed. Other bathhouses would at least state the temperature of the sauna so I could compare. Food was good, but the menu lacks diversity. That said, I liked the diverse selection of non-alcoholic beverages, especially that a bunch of them were low-calorie. Tip: Maybe bring your own slippers? Mine were accidentally taken while I left them out to dip in the pool. They all look alike. Bathrooms: In the locker rooms and then downstairs there were more nearer to the bathing areas. Very convenient and clean. Showers were a joy to use.

I came to Bathhouse Flatiron for a self-care day. I got a day pass for $40, which was such a steal! The staff were friendly and welcoming. In the lobby, there are small gift items and products you can purchase to take home. The locker room was clean, well-stocked, and offered thoughtful touches (i.e. Q-tips and feminine products). Complimentary sandals and towels were provided as well. The pool area had a very social atmosphere. There were several different options to choose from, including a cold plunge, a heated pool, a standard pool, and a sauna. It was easy to move around and try things at my own pace. My favorite space was the quiet area. If you get overstimulated easily or just need a moment to yourself, this section is perfect. I brought my book, put my feet up, and truly relaxed without any distractions. A few things to note: First, phones are only allowed in the lobby and cafe, so be prepared to fully unplug once you enter the pool area. Second, the towels come in a one-size option, which is not ideal for midsize or plus-size guests. Last, I wish the cafe had more lunch options. Overall, Bathhouse Flatiron was great for unwinding, resetting, and enjoying a calm day. I look forward to getting a massage the next time that I visit. I'd definitely go again.

I'm really torn about this place... when we got there, there was only one person working on the front desk and there was already a huge line. Walked away to get wristbands from kiosk, it didn't work, tried the one next to it, it's also not working. Had to get back in line again and the whole thing took about 20 minutes just to check in. Anyhow, we got changed into bathing suit (must say lockers lock was cool, done by wristbands!), got into the bath... um... it's lukewarm. NOW I need to warn Asian folks! If you're looking for HOT bath, you'll NOT find it here, it's basically heated pool. I had to run over to dry sauna to keep myself warm. Their saunas are very nice, they have dry, steam and infrared saunas and loved all of them! We booked the body scrub but they were running behind big time.(30 minutes!) and nor we were informed. They use CBG oil, it really makes you relaxed. We ate at the cafe after the scrub and the food was good. My conclusion; personally, if you want "quick refreshment", get just daily pass and use saunas! Do not plan to go to work after the CBG oil, you won't be able to function!

Coco was the first therapist who not only heard what I was saying but figured out precisely where my body was failing me. There are plenty of well-trained massage therapists who will deliver the textbook experience, but in over 20 years of various deep tissue, Thai, shiatsu, etc. massages, I can count on one hand the number of therapists with this uncanny ability to find the exact pressure points that need release. Coco is that rare person and I'd recommend her wholeheartedly. I was sore, to be sure, but that night I slept without pain for the first time in months. The booking experience is entirely online (though I suppose you can call). The ambience is chill vibes. Would definitely recommend and repeat if the need arises again.

I had previously seen a physical therapist over 4 visits, to no relief, and never considered sports massage therapy. I booked with Vincent for my third visit after reading reviews about his ability with shoulder pain specifically. After two visits with Vincent over the course of 3 -4 months, my shoulder pain has gone away. Crazy thing is I don't even know when it went away. But I do know that after both visits I felt better circulation. Something, I can't say what exactly, but something always felt better. I did like the first two therapists and felt I was on the right track with sports massage, but I had the best connection with Vincent. One year later, which was last week, I went to see him again for overall upper body health and circulation. Vincent is professional, kind, and is knowledgeable about human physiology. Unfortunately he no longer services 34th St, only the 54th location. I recommend Vincent and all the staff at Body Mechanics.

1 star I honestly…read moredon't know how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Let me be clear up front: this is not a spa. It starts with the building, which is rough- there isn't even a dedicated lobby. And the bathrooms? Disgusting. That matters more than you'd think, because instead of sheets you lie on one of those thin, cheap white towels. I actually watched a masseuse rinsing one out in the bathroom sink afterward with the hand soap. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. The massage itself was just okay. The room was freezing, and I'm not convinced Nan, who did mine, fully understood what she was doing. I would bet she's not even licensed. I booked a Swedish massage, but "a little more pressure" somehow turned into go-crazy-intense deep tissue. She also spent a strange amount of time on my legs, it felt less like a spa massage and more like the quick rub-down you get at a nail salon. If this were a budget spot, fine. But it's not priced like one. The lack of basic etiquette sealed it. When the massage ended, I hopped off the table and was putting my jewelry back on when Nan knocked exactly once and barged right back in. No water offered. She thrust the card machine at me, and as I went to pay she stepped in so close I had to actually ask her not to hover over me. Nothing about this felt relaxing or professional. There are far better places to spend your money.
