Nice spot! Fun, but a little underwhelming if I'm being honest.. all the baths are right next to each other so there's no big vibe shift between them -- with the exception of the salt pool. The salt pool, unfortunately, is placed right next to the massage rooms and I guess there is no door or mechanism to keep sound from traveling, because every five minutes or so one of their staff would come to yell (ironic) about how everyone in the pool is being too loud... this feels like something the designers of the space should have thought about prior to putting a social pool right next to massage rooms. There's a bunch of people there, even at whispering volume it will still be loud. Alternatively, they could always install more sound proofing or a sliding door between the massage rooms and the pool.. Subtracted another star for the multiple technical difficulties experienced by my guests and I during their referral program, and even regular bookings. I had to call, but they never pick up but luckily texting was an option. Also, not having Apple Pay on their website is a majorly annoying as the site itself doesn't seem so stable.. did not like manually putting in my credit card info here. Fun experience and pretty amenities, but probably wouldn't come back if not for a massage (which, I did not get but my friend loved hers), for $60 for the day pass I guess you get what you pay for? read more

Staff are nice, massage was amazing, and facilities are very nice, sleek and modern. My drink was well made. Lockers are spacious and the shower was heavenly equipped with rain and body shower heads, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. What I had a problem with was the patrons. I get that this place is more social, but do you have to speak above an indoor voice? I shouldn't be able to hear your conversation all the way across the room. Even in the saunas, people were having loud conversations. And why do you leave your soggy used towels all over the couches and floor when there are many available hampers to throw them into and numbered hooks to hang? Yes, maybe staff should be more proactive about cleaning it up but we are all adults here and fully capable of cleaning up after ourselves. Women couldn't be bothered to throw out the hair they left on the sink after blow drying it. The icing on top was the amount of PDA all the couples were doing. I even saw one woman straddle her partner in one of the pools. I'd go back for the massage alone but people going here need to do better. read more

The customer service is lacking check in person was rude and had a negative almost annoyed attitude. No one is around to help you if your wrist band doesn't work- had to walk back up to check in. At least the person who did come to help had a better attitude. The area is no better than an upscale king spa. I recently got into cold plunging and ice baths... was disappointed that only 2 locations of my gym (Equinox) offer this... saw an instagram ad for bathhouse and decided to try it out... and I had so much fun here!! Its more of a social experience so no gym... but didnt matter to me because I had been walking and traveling everywhere so i was sore AF... Everything was hurting and I needed some fun and some recovery!! They have 4 different sauna and i think 6 different pools. It's fairly newer so everything was clean, modern and great vibes. They have a breathing/meditation session every hour and that was an amazing experience ... guy makes the sauna SO HOT as if it wasnt hot enough already ... and watching people do the cold plunge is entertainment for me... never know what they are going to do!! Let me start by saying the front desk girl was amazing. But I scheduled a couples massage and called 2 times to be sure that my husband had a woman and I didn't care who ever was available for me. But needless to say we had 2 men. It was not the best feeling for my husband at all and not relaxing as we needed. The rooms were cold. I didn't bother to ask which I should have but it was too late. You also get an email the night before that robes, shoes, and towels are given but they are only towels and shoes NO robes. The vibe was good but busy. I wish the experience would have been better. Once my husband was done the guy said is everything ok you looked unsure... Well yes it was not good and you should have known as that's not what I requested. I visited Bathhouse on my day off for a day of relaxation, and had a great time! I was pretty impressed by the quality of the showers; in each individual shower booth, there was a touchscreen console to control the water pressure and temperature to the degree. We were also one of the first people to arrive, so the showers were very clean. I saw the staff constantly wiping down surfaces and the shower booths, so I assume it to be pretty clean during later peak hours as well. The pool and sauna areas inside are relatively small. The pool area I liked, but I found some of the saunas to be a little lacking (such as the infrared sauna -- which I get the point is to get infrared light, but the temperature was lukewarm at best). I was also sad to see the lack of an Ice/Cold Room. Nonetheless, it was a fun experience exploring the four different rooms they had, and circulating between the different pool temperatures. I especially enjoyed the cold plunge, which had two options at different temperatures. It is worth to note that we visited on a Friday morning using the Early Bird day pass; the facility had a decent amount of a crowd, but was not crowded at all. I don't think I would've enjoyed my experience as much if it was more crowded -- I would recommend staying away from peak hours like weekends or after work hours. At the price we paid, and the accessibility of this location, I thought my experience was not bad at all -- I definitely see myself coming back when a spa day is much needed! read more

Went there last weekend for my wedding anniversary... Hubby and I were seriously grossed out by the water in the pools..... we did not go into the water. -I felt I needed a tetanus shot just being in the space. Guests showed up in their bathing suits already and didn't shower before entering the spa. Everyone walking around the dressing rooms in their outdoor shoes....Murky water in the pools, club music, showers were dirty and the shampoo, conditioner bottles were empty. If you are in your 20s and into the club scene this is HEAVEN. Lots of thongs, full make up and shaved muscular chests. If you want a relaxing spa experience this is not the vibe. There is a restaurant area that serves alcohol and some nosh. The whole scene seems like a get over your hangover moment, flirt, gossip in the sauna (loudly lol) fabulous pregame before a night out if you are in your 20s. read more

To everyone complaining that Bathhouse is too loud and social: bath houses are social and made for moving around and trying different things. Go to a more formal spa for the quiet vibe. I've been a big fan of Batthouse since they first opened in Williamsburg. The Flatiron location is even cooler and bigger with several saunas, pools, and cold plunges. The locker rooms are very nice and have all the things you need to shower and get ready. The showers have different shower head options (rain + body). If you haven't tried it before, do the Aufguss ceremony in the big sauna! Awesome music, essential oils, breath work and stretching. A very unique experience. If you want to avoid the crowds, don't go on the weekend. Their signature full body massage is SO good, I always feel like mush after. A nice experience overall, though if it was any more crowded (I'm guessing on the weekends), it would have been too much. We went on a weekday evening with a group and there were quite a few people there, but we were always able to find a seat in the saunas. My husband and I came here for the first time after frequenting the Brooklyn location for the last couple years. This one is much larger, with several more pools and showers. We really enjoyed the space and the atmosphere; it's not the quietest place but I did find the quiet area to be substantially more laidback. Absolutely love this place! Was in NYC on a weekend getaway & booked a couples massage. If you have a service you can arrive & hour before your booking to start using amenities. There was a line to check in when we arrived but it moved quickly & staff was friendly. You get a wrist band to tap into your locker & be able to lock & unlock it. You can also tie a credit card to it to buy things at the cafe. If you have never been there it's a little confusing how to get around even though they tell you plus their signage is sparse. They provide sandals for you to wear around but you have to dig in the bins to find 2 that match in size. The towels are super tiny so don't expect to wrap them around you fully. They also are not very soft. They have many cold plunge pools, hot tubs, different types of saunas, salt pool & steam room. I wish they would have let people know checking in or before that their steam room wasn't working. Especially with the amount of money you pay to use their facilities. The places fills up & gets loud the later in the day it gets. The couples massage was fantastic & the massage therapist were both considerate & listened to the issues we both had to try & focus on those areas. The cafe was ok. The food choices limited especially in the morning. The scone was ok but pretty much like a cheap grocery store one with little flavor. My husband said his coffee was subpar & my tea was probably a 25 cent tea bag. I wouldn't recommend getting food there unless you just want the experience or you aren't going anywhere to eat after. Will definitely be back but will skip the cafe & we will be sure to ask if all facilities are working. read more

Whew it's taken me a long time to write this review. I wish I could go into every single detail, but I'll give the "short" version of what happened. On 4/22/2025 my friend and I booked a massage and bathhouse experience for 4/23/2025. When I booked, they asked if we preferred male or female, since it's short notice I said no preference. We check at 2pm & took a steam & cold plunge until around 2:50pm when we go to the "quiet area" for our appointments. My friend got a female (she was doing a body scrub) and I was got a male masseuse, Charles. He asked me basic questions and then said "k lay down I'll be back". I had one a 1 piece swimsuit & ask, "ok should I pull my top down?" he very sarcastically said "yeah, I need to massage your BODY, not your bathing suit" he shut the door and left. I pulled down my top and lay face down on the table with the blanket pulled over myself. I could hear him come back in, and he stood at the base of my head and started to massage my shoulders. Within seconds Charles began talking to me, which alarmed me because this is a massage and is supposed to be a quiet, relaxing experience. He went on to say something like, " I'm aware that I am a man, and you are a woman, and that as a man, especially as a black man, I understand that if you were to report me for doing anything inappropriate, it would be my word against yours, and that ultimately the law will side with you and I would never jeopardize my career. I have to touch your body in order to do my job and I would never touch anything that doesn't need to be touched." I was laying there confused...I said "ok...I've had massages, I'm aware you have to touch my body.." he responds by laughing and says "if you've had massages before then Why did you ask if you have to pull your top down?!", I said "because I'm not from NYC and you didn't tell me to undress to my comfort level or anything so I was just checking?". He then asks me where I'm from, he tells me he has a brother that lives in the same state as me. He asks where I'm staying in NY, I told him I was staying with a friend in the Bronx and he says "oh, I live in the Bronx!" Then begins to REALLY ask where I'm staying, literally asking what street, subway stop I'm closest to. I said idk to all of his questions about where I'm staying. To get attention away from me, I asked how long he has been a massage therapist, and this was the biggest mistake of my life. For the next 30+ mins, he begins to tell me his life story. I no longer speak, he's just talking at me giving me his criminal history starting from when he was 14 years old. I wish I could give more detail, but there were moments where I disassociated during his rant. He stated that he and his friend were mixed up in dealing drugs, and he got arrested early on in his life. At this point, I'm shocked he's telling me all of this. The next thing I know is he says "and that's when I went to Riker's (Prison)". I'm laying on my back with a blanket over my chest feeling very vulnerable, he draped a cloth over my eyes and I'm just listening to him talk, he's going on and on about when he got out of prison he started seeing this girl while he was living with his dad. Keep in mind the entire time he's talking he's cussing so much (eff this eff that mother effer etc.). While he's stretching my legs, again and extremely vulnerable position to be in as a woman, he talks about the girl he met after prison and how he wants to go to his dad's house so they can have sex. VERBATIM he says,"then I try to put it in, but it was too tight. After a while of me trying, I realize oh wow, this girl is YOUNG!" Then he says he tells the girl she has to leave, and he tells me that's when he got his statutory rape charge.....Now I am completely panicked. I'm frozen laying there, I remain quiet and I start playing in my head what I would need to do if something terrible were to happen to me. I start wondering, could people hear me down the hall if I screamed? It was one of the more terrifying moments of my life. I ended up finishing the massage, feeling more tense than when I arrived. The reaction from the front desk/customer service at this place was ridiculous. At the risk of making this any longer, it's worth mentioning that they not only ended up charging my card twice and basically were refusing to give me a refund before I escalated the situation, but they seemed to have very little empathy for my situation. I will give a shout out to the Bodywork (hiring company I think) supervisor by the name of Nick, he called me later that evening and out of everyone I talked to he was the only one that was shocked by what happened to me and expressed his apologies. Please watch out when you're at this location because they hire predators. If I could give this place half a star, I would. read more

Everyone minds their own business. Bounce around from one pool to another for best results. Go from sauna to cold plunge then steam room again. Go alone, go with a friend, let the magic happen. It's time you experience what your body needs. You deserve it. Very clean and the showers are amazing. They have; 98° Large pool 98° Large salt water pool 2 - 104° small pools 45° small pool 50° small pool 195° Sauna (Banya) 185° Dry sauna 130° Infrared sauna 120° Steam room. Pros: Visually "pretty" facilities. Cons: To echo what many others have said - ENTIRELY too many people (especially if you have visited other places like Aire in TriBeca). The lobby was disorganized and overflowing with people checking in. We had to stand around 15 minutes in the locker room to wait for a locker to open (!). There were wall-to-wall people in the cafe and common areas (open seats were non-existent). The pools and steam rooms themselves were also filled to the brim (to the point where I second guessed going in as it felt like I was sitting in a huge stew of grime from strangers). We saw the employee mopping the floor actually push a puddle of floor water INTO the cold plunge. As others have noted, it is not a relaxing, quiet atmosphere. At one point we were yelling to hear what our group was saying. This is a shame as the facilities themselves seemed nice, but the massive overcrowding felt cramped, overwhelming, and unsanitary. I implore Bathhouse to focus on quality and not quantity. Limit the number of patrons and put time limits on the visits. You would get a lot more repeat customers by doing so. read more

!!!Beware: personal items are stolen in the locker rooms. My friend left a lavender Hydroflask in the Flatiron location male changing room at a 10pm visit on January 31st. He was one of the last people to come out at closing time so it's unlikely that someone from other customers took it. We called Bathhouse the next day and a woman picked up the phone. After explaining to her the situation, she asked what color was the cup. Once we told her, she paused for a couple of seconds and then said that she will email us if they find anything. However she never asked us for an email. This leads me to believe that our item was just left in the changing room and then someone from the staff decided to keep it. I'm surprised by all the higher ratings for Bathhouse! The downfall of this place is that it is soooo incredibly crowded - imagine spring break pool parties where everyone is packed like sardines. Most of the time you're sitting shoulder to shoulder with people in the pools and in the sauna rooms. I was so overwhelmed upon walking into the locker rooms and shocked when I got into the pool section. The pool section is also very club like - loud, dark and crowded. The cafe is also tiny with super overpriced food. Also the bathrooms were not well maintained, dirty, and out of toilet paper all the time. Overall super disappointing experience and not worth the high price tag. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, look elsewhere! read more

But it looks as if this spot had to make some choice so that made the menu flat and took away all of the amazing fresh options and opted for dumplings. I arrived at Bathhouse at 9:45am on a Saturday and they were already full. By the time I left they were packed. The locker rooms were standard where I changed into my bathing suit before my massage. I didn't go into the pools beforehand bc I didn't want to be wet getting a massage, although plenty of people were doing this. My massage was terrific, I had Cindy, who really focused on trigger points. Overall fantastic. Then I used the steam room, sauna, hot and cold pools. I was solo, but there were solo, couples and groups. Didn't feel awkward at all. Everyone pleasant and talking. Not a quiet spa vibe, but nobody was loud and obnoxious. Then a had a scrub with Georgie. Again fantastic! First time getting a scrub and I loved it, especially warm water being poured over me. After scrub, took full advantage of awesome showers (had body wash, shampoo, conditioner) and amenities to get ready for a lunch date. They had hair dryers, face wash, lotion, hair ties, qtips. Also plenty of towels everywhere and slides provided. Only downside was upon arrival, no one takes you downstairs and it's dark and can be confusing. Took me awhile to get my bearings. I definitely want to go back and do another visit because I feel like perhaps it was the day of the week I visited that is driving this review. I visited on a Friday afternoon. From check in to after check out there were issues. Our massages were booked for 5 pm and at 415 pm they called us to ask us where were were? I said we were on our way and they said on the phone they require us to arrive an hour before. An hour before is suggested on the site but it is not shown as mandatory. Then when we arrived they couldn't find my guests reservation. Turns out they were looking at the wrong name. They do not have robes there, but small, thing towels. When we walked into the dressing room, SIX different girls were taking selfies or taking pics. Which is extremely uncomfortable. Then another two separate girls were on FaceTime, one of them with a man who I assume is her boyfriend. Extremely rude and inappropriate. They really should have someone in the change rooms making sure this is not happening. They do have a cute lounge where you can get drinks or food. However when we went down the baths, I was shocked. It was packed, like shoulder to shoulder. We went into the quiet area to get our massages. Which was great, the massage was wonderful and on time. When we left we decided to try the pools. The water was literally murky from all the people. It was not looking pleasant. We decided to leave. When we were checking out I told them to charge the tip to my gift card, but then overnight I got a request to pay the tip. When I looked at my gift card balance they had taken the tip from there. I would go back on a weekday night to see if there is a difference because I truly enjoyed the massage but they need to have less people there. I understand it's a social spa experience unlike other spas but I don't need to feel like I'm shoulder to shoulder in murky water at a Las Vegas day club when I go there. read more

Staff is nice as are the saunas tho the cold plunge is a tad too cold. 54 would be a nice sweet spot. There is zero signage letting you know which pool is which - which ones are hot which ones are cold - no signage at all letting you know which saunas are which. it's very dark in there you have to just sort of memorize what's where which is ridiculous - put up some signs! there's also no indication of what size the sandals are that you're putting on. I ended up with a huge size. And didn't see anywhere to put used sandals. You also have to walk a long way from shower to your locker tho I like the electronic wristbands that open the shower. The towels are rough and minuscule. I went on a weeknight and it felt like a nightclub - way too many people. Would also be nice to have women-only hours. There is no directional signage so you're wandering around, it's very dimly lit so you can barely read the signage, and the salt pool it tucked away in another room that I didn't know existed because staff didn't explain much and they don't answer emails in a timely fashion either. 12/21/24 My friend and I got a full-body massage by Shaine. He was exceptional at targeting all of the areas that was causing me pain. He was attentive to all of my sensitivities, being sure to consult me every step of the way. He was very professional and answered all of my questions with elaborate detail. I highly recommend him! Used to be absolutely in love with this place, charmed by its design, impressed by the services offered and their quality, but... things are quickly changing. This is no longer the place where you can relax and embrace calmness. Way too many inconsiderate visitors who make a ton of noise, get drunk, throw trash around, and have obnoxious conversations and behavior. This place was so sophisticated and sexy when they opened up. However, it is slowly but surely becoming more and more trashy and frustrating. I understand people can be very difficult and disrespectful, but I do expect the stuff to put a bit more effort into creating a relaxing environment and asking people to be mindful of how loud they talk or scream across a sauna/spa. I believe the management of the place can be much better. It's not cheap and everyone would like to enjoy themselves, not only selfish and self-centered visitors that don't consider others even for a moment. Didn't enjoy my last visit at all. It was a zoo. I no longer feel safe at Bathhouse Flatiron.I was a loyal long time customer and had made it part of my weekly wellness ritual. About a month ago, I had a frightening experience with a loud, visibly intoxicated group who were yelling, twerking, and disrupting the entire space including inside the previously quiet infrared sauna. When I politely asked them to lower their volume, they became aggressive screaming in my face, threatening to jump me, and following me throughout the facility. I was terrified and ran to the front desk, dripping wet. Thankfully, staff escorted me out safely and confirmed they had already received other complaints about the same group. I avoided returning for a month. When I finally did, I was shocked to find the overall atmosphere had completely changed. There was even more yelling and multiple arguments breaking out between guests. It no longer feels like the peaceful, respectful space it once was. Yes it's loud, crowded, overstimulating, with a crowd that lacks bathhouse etiquette - but for the price of the day pass the value does feel proportionate. I'd recommend coming here for sports recovery and functional health needs, less so for a peaceful spa experience. Also highly recommend wearing ear plugs. Saunas and steam room are intensely hot, cold plunges are intensely cold - perfect. Interior design is gorgeous and locker rooms are huge. The smart showers are a nice perk. And having a cafe for juices and snacks on-site is convenient. Facilities are much bigger and cleaner than Brooklyn location. Staff is so courteous and hard-working. If they could enforce volume modulation like every single other competitor does to help it become a relaxing environment with less overwhelming noise, that would make this 5 stars. Also, marking food allergens on cafe menu items would be helpful. Just don't raise the prices so that the value remains worth it! I used to go to Aire Ancient Baths for more than twice the cost for hydrotherapy circuit and can no longer justify it. Planning on frequenting here as part of my monthly routine! read more
