So then you try the other location 1.4 miles away, and you also go in circles with ZERO parking. Honestly, it is so bad that they really need to tell people that it is best to visit without driving. I spent 1 hour, with all loading only, one way streets, Bus and bike only streets....Not even paid parking. ZERO street. Why is loading uploading of passengers 100% of what looks like used to be parking spaces? 2 times I tried to visit both locations.....I could not park...That is my experience, and I say that should be MUCH more clear for people visisting.

Its not too sweet and the flavors are prominent. The rice roll was my favorite monthly flavor for October. The bun was pillowy and soft with meat, scallions and cilantro scattered throughout. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. There is a max 10 pastries, 3 of each pastries limit for each party. They're also able to separate pastries into different boxes if requested when ordering.

The location is on the steeper roads that I have no idea how people deal with living here. It's a bun with a crunchy topping on the top and so it looks like a pineapple. The top coating tastes very similar to butter shortbread cookies from the Hawaiian's Honolulu Cookie company. The bread is super soft inside and warm, and when they put a slice of butter inside, it melts into the bread. It's also kinda chewy inside like a mochi consistency. I recommend the original custard pineapple bun. The salted egg yolk pineapple bun was also good but I think it should have had a little more filling. If you're craving savory pastries, the bbq pork pineapple bun is also good. The croissant egg tarts are fantastic. The custard tastes like a Portuguese egg tart but the crust is super crunchy and flakey. There's a caramelized sugar coating around the crust which makes it extra crispy. Highly recommend! Next time I'd probably order online and come for pickup. There's two lines and they're both pretty long: ordering and pick up. Btw they take only cash if you order in person. They said the wait was 15 more min for egg tarts and we ended eating almost 40 min :/ so prepare for the lines and wait time.

It was still delicious, but it was less pull-apart and more fall-apart. That being said, tacos fall apart and they're still delicious. I was fortunate to land one of the limited seats inside the bakery, although, there was also plenty of bench space in the parklet outside. The pizza crust was thin and crispy - with just the right amount of chew - and tasted slightly of sourdough. Topping-wise, the mushrooms were abundant but not overpowering; however, I wish there had been other vegetables to balance out the flavor. Paying less than $5 for a generously-sized slice (adorned with a mini slice on top) felt like a bargain, especially in SF. I would definitely make the trip back out here to give the pizza another try and to pick up some of the other baked goods.

I'm giving the benefit of a doubt here. When I arrived, I was the only person in the store. I wasn't greeted. It took a while for the man to get up and ask me what I was looking for. There seemed to be nothing displayed. When it seemed clear that there were no cakes available without pre-ordering, I looked at the display case for something I could enjoy. I come here for two items: their peanut butter blossoms and cupcakes. Some of my favorite cupcakes in the city and for their taste, quality and size they are a steal at $33/dozen. You can mix and match all of their delicious flavors so I always get a dozen when I am on my way to a shower, dinner or any other type of social activity. You will also find gluten free pasta like the three cheese ravioli. You can also get cheese bagels and biscuit sandwiches which are gluten free. This is the spot where you can eat for free in SF, which means it's all gluten free. Just a few months ago Batter Bakery had a storefront and cafe on Pine Street in San Francisco, but recent changes and challenges in their business have caused that location to close. Now, in a rather wonderful turn of events, owner Jen Musty found the perfect location in the city of Berkeley to continue her prized Batter Bakery as a wholesale bakery, which means no more cafe, but they will continue to sell online for pickups, in addition to a small kiosk in downtown San Francisco as well as operating popups in various Farmers Markets and other locations. It is the latter in which I recently found them, as for the autumnal season, for a final weekend during the month of October, I found them as a pop-up at the Flowerland nursery along Solano Avenue in Berkeley. Although the weather wasn't very cooperative, they actually had a decent amount of people visiting Flowerland, of which I attest that it had to have been because Batter Bakery had a table filled with all of their baked goods ready to be purchased. They had a lot of nice samples that looked ready to purchase and eat, including their Pumpkin Bread, Carmelita, and a Caramel Rib Brownie. On this day, I decided to order three of their baked goods including their Sour Cream Apple Coffee Cake (with Seasonal Fruit), their signature Sand Angel, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie. My total bill for three items was 13 dollars, which in this day and age is quite reasonable. I decided to return home to sample all three of my sweet treats, and honestly all three of them were delectable for their very own reasons. Their Sour Cream Apple Coffee Cake was so moist, thanks to the abundance of seasonal fruit that was in every bite, which also helped balance out the overall sweetness. Their Sand Angel is considered their "secret recipe cookie", as it was a chewy, cinnamon-y cookie, similar to a cross between a snickerdoodle & a molasses bar, which only added to the deliciousness. And their traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie has an overall sense of classiness to it because it was a dense and chewy delight, as it was packed with bittersweet Guittard chocolate, caramel undertones, and just a sprinkle of Jacobsen sea salt. My only regret upon this visit to Batter Bakery was the fact that I didn't grab even more sweet treats, as I had no idea that this would be the last of their pop-up visits to the area for the season, or at least that is what their website currently says. I am happy that Batter Bakery has now made the East Bay their home, as the customer service representative who sold me my sweet treats told me it was all for the best, as they now want to focus on wholesale baking for specialty stores, many of which I was unfamiliar with but excited to explore in the future, and special orders during the busy holiday seasons. They will continue to do Farmer's Markets, including the one every Saturday morning at the San Francisco Ferry Building, but since they have a new home that can easily produce bigger batches of baked goods, their priorities have changed and I understand that. Through hard work and dedication, owner Jen Musty has turned her passion for baking into a unique creative energy that we can all appreciate, and with their baked goods, Batter Bakery wants to show a love for bringing people happiness through their wonderful food, and it doesn't hurt that they can make a cookie that will make anyone's day just that much more sweeter.

But the gold is not the star here by any means, the carrot cake base is the true star. It's very cakey, has carrot shreds and has raisins. All with a crunchy fried texture on the outside. And pairs great with the cream cheese frosting. Perhaps my favorite here. Bunny Butt: Apparently this is a vegan. It had a bunch of coconut shreds and a sugary bunny butt candy. I checked out the website to find it is micro bakery that is female and immigrant owned known for its doughnuts and pastries that are made using the ingredients seasonally available and ingredients that are REAL, without the industrial mixes that are full of chemicals at typical shops. Four flavors of doughnuts were in the box. Ooh Baby - ube cream filled topped with ube glaze and ube milk crumbs. Napa Crème - vanilla bean cream filled topped with dark chocolate with a tough of Cabernet, candied cocoa and chocolate pearls. The O.G. - glazed with Madagascar vanilla bean. Bart's Dad - paying homage to Homer, its pink vanilla glazed with rainbow sprinkles. My two favorites were the Ooh Baby with its purple cake and ube cream filling and the Napa Crème with it vanilla bean custard filling. Maybe I like cream filled doughnuts, but they were so delicious and not sweet!! The glaze did not melt like some doughnuts and they were still soft that evening. Thanks to our friend who getting these DREAM doughnuts for us to try. If you see them at a Farmers Market, give these delicious doughnuts a try.

My colleagues in the office LOVED it; people came into my office just to talk about it and some of them brought it up to me days later. I'd never had brittle like it... it was a thin layer of crunchy, flaky toffee sandwiched between coatings of the richest, velvetiest dark chocolate. Even though I meant for this to be a gift, I snagged a few pieces for myself for the drive home. I didn't know how legendary their hot chocolate was until reading these reviews, so now I have another good reason to go back!

I was on a work trip but my wife came along, so wanted to find her some fresh baked good for her morning coffee. Pacific Smoke is located inside Merkado restaurant, as a popup spot. Met Toby the owner, a very genuine person, and clearly a baker (and chef) that takes great care in his craft. He went above and beyond to accommodate us, he even made a quick delivery to us when he got a break in the action. He only uses the freshest ingredients, and what's seasonal. The banana bread is worth the price of admission alone. But the mochi muffins were bomb as well. This is a must try spot, can't wait to try more flavors next time and his lunch items as well!

Walking over halfway through my shopping mission, I waited as a customer finished his purchase in studying there menu and eventually buying a few items. Located in a pretty busy part of town, you'll need have some trouble with parking but if you're commuting through public transportation or taxi services, it won't be too big of a hassle. Once you've arrived, you may as well stay awhile and get comfortable in their small dining area and share space with some locals who frequent the joint (civil servants included). If your eyes haven't already set on their pastries visible from the front, their cannoli, cakes, biscotti and gelato might! The cannolis are delicious and taste extremely fresh. You won't have many options with it but their two standard flavors are just as good. The cream filling is not too sweet and has great texture and the shell is crispy and buttery. The biscotti are the next big section of their store that will catch your attention. At least 10 different flavors of cookies and biscotti are up for grabs - aside from your typical chocolate, almond and anise, you'll find other nuts like pistachio and fruits like cherries showcased. As all biscotti, they're a bit tough to bite into but these crumble just enough to give you that burst of flavor in each chomp. Their gelato selection is small but with it, Mara's got a bit of something for everyone!
