The menu is a bit different which I liked , the mimosas were good especially the pear flavored one. The avocado toast looked pretty however we have had better, (it was not bad, it just wasn't the best).I ordered braised beef ribs over potatoes and topped with an over easy egg, it was very good! Our waiter was good especially since they were busy and a large had ordered just before us. My first cup of coffee was good and hot which I like my second cup was barely warm. I love this place. I have been here four whole times and the fowl mouth has NEVER disappointed me so this review is NOT for the delicious brunch that they serve! However, this is for the Happy Hour that they serve. They had delicious food like their cauliflower, poke, pretzel bites, and their fries, BUT their fried avocado was one of the worst things that I have ever had in my life. Unfortunately, it made me and my other friends feel a bit sick biting into it. I've had tempura fried avocado before and it never was 1/4 of an avocado with the thinnest layer of tempura and left under a heat lamp to warm and get gooey. Honestly I have no complaints, I go out to eat a lot and it's rare to have people that actually care about the food they make and the people they're serving. This is my second dinner at Batter Rebellion and it was just as good as my first a few months ago. Tonight, my group included three adventurous-eating adults and two kids who are much less adventurous eaters. We all found something that looked great, and our waiter, Sergio, did a great job of greeting us, seating us, taking orders (and gave some scrumptious suggestions for add-ons), keeping our waters filled, and bringing out our meals. Unfortunately, Batter Rebellion was out of shrimp on this visit, and while a disappointment, there were still many options on the menu, and Sergio suggested how items that normally include shrimp could be modified with beef or chicken. Our choices ended up being Bite Me (Pretzel appetizers), Toasted (Avocado Toast), Rad Ass Waffle (the kid was too embarrassed by the dish's name to say it to the waiter!!), and two Black Sheep burgers. All the food was scrumptious, and plates were cleared; even the kids ate heartily. The Black Sheet burgers were cooked to ordered doneness and were very flavorful (ask for extra napkins...this is not a burger to eat while wearing a white dress shirt). Sergio suggested some fry-topping options. I really liked the Mardi Gras fry topper. One of the kids enjoyed the Cajun topper with the other burger. I think next time I will ask for the fry topper on the side to help keep the fries crisp through dinner. The Rad Ass Waffle came with berries and a nice cinnamon butter and syrup, with a crisp waffle. The Fowl Mouth had a cornbread waffle, chicken, and spicy maple syrup. The adult diner noted that it was very, very good, but would have preferred a crisper cook on the otherwise flavorful waffle. The Toasted is avocado toast, enhanced with two optional over-easy eggs on top, was reported to be both filling and quite satisfying. The Bite Me pretzel bits included ~15 pretzel bites and 3 dipping sauces: mustard, ranch, and cheese. The pretzel bites were tender, and the cheese dipping sauce was amazing. The mustard and ranch sauces were fairly run-of-the-mill, but the kids liked them, which is pretty important. Overall, our dining experience was enjoyable and earned another 5-star review, and our thanks go to Sergio for his great table service. read more

I've been to the L.A. renowned Chicken and Waffle place, and this is far better. The Batter Rebellion isn't what I expected: it's NOT a waffle or flap jack joint. Check out my pic of the signature wall - get the tone? And surprisingly, I felt comfortable here. The music and vibe was upbeat, but it wasn't obnoxious. The staff was quick and attentive. They have open-air window seating and covered patio seating. Both of which we liked. But what of the food? It was quite good. We had the Fowl Mouth. The deep fried chicken was still moist and the breading was still crispy even after the ride home. There was white and dark meat. But I really liked that it didn't have any bones in it. This made eating it a lot easier. I'm not a big fan of waffles - usually bland. But these were good. The cornbread waffle was substantial in chew and flavor. The cheese while understated in flavor, added a backbone to the structure. Fortunately, the Jalapeno was understated but yet still appropriately noticeable (just the right amount for my taste). They provided 3 types of sauces: roasted corn aioli, spicy house honey and spicy maple bourbon syrup. We didn't find these to be too spicy, and not obnoxiously sweet. Break down of the grub: BITE ME - Pretzel bites, perfectly cooked, topped with parmesan cheese served with three dipping sauces. Beer cheddar, mustard, and my favorite, garlic aioli. KISS MY HASS - Sesame Battered Avocado! Sounds funky but is crazy good. Crispy outside while still keeping the avocado firm and not mushy. Topped with Jalapeño Cream Cheese, Sriracha Aioli, and Green Onion. I'm not a spicy food gal and was a little concerned that this would be too much spice but it wasn't. Served with a Unagi Dipping Sauce. Soooo good!!! ROLLING STONE SALAD - A plate of mixed greens, stonefruit, goat cheese, candied pecans, and a balsamic glaze. Served with a beautiful basil and citrus vinaigrette. I also added grilled chicken for some protein. What a punch of wonderful flavors. WOW! The restaurant was super cute. The service was spot on. I wish I took photos of this place, cause as soon as we walked in, it was an entire vibe. Fresh, funky and hip. The menu was really unique, I loved that!! The space was clean and the decor really cool. We ordered off the scanned coded menu, keeping things Covid free and sanitized friendly, although, truth be told, some folks in our party preferred the paper menu, which was immediately provided. The options were awesome, vegetarian friendly and displayed to entice the appetite even more. I ordered a vegetable medley stir fry, pretty delicious and the appetizers which weren't vegetarian were devoured with delight by other members of our party. I've displayed some photos for convenience and reviewing purposes. Now, I totally would have given 5 stars, but there were a couple of areas that could use improvement. It was a bit on the warm side, temperature wise and then there were a couple of pesky flies floating around. We did notice that there's an area near windows and both of these concerns could be easily resolved by closing the windows, which will allow the cool air to marinate in this heat and keep those pests outside where they belong. I wish you the best in your restaurant and hope you do really well as communities continue to open and rebuild. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely come again!! I came to Batter Rebellion the 1st time as an for a Yelp elite event. Having seen this place being built I was excited to try it for the first time. For the event we had the Lil Fowl Mouth (Chicken & Waffles) and I ordered the Pountine. The location is a great place in downtown Redlands where their are a lot of good places to eat in the area. The actual restaurant is a great place visit, has great modern decor. This is a location that I look forward to dinning in at once Covid is gone. They do have outside seating just right outside the entry way. For the Yelp event I just got the food togo for a movie night. When I first tried a bite of the I was like woah. Batter Rebellion did you know you had me at Poutine? I only tried a couple of the ingredients at first bite and I was already amazed, then I tried the rest of it and it got even better. Everything the waffle fries, onion straws, sheered pork, cheese curds ect was just a masterful blend of some of the best poutine I've had. The Fowl Mouth (****) was also good, though the poutine set expectations really high. I like and BR's take on chicken & waffles. I think the waffles had corn meal or something different from your typical waffle batter and a sweet sauce. Overall this is a great place to visit. I was torn by rating this place 4 or 5 stars, but I can justify the rating I give it because of the uniqueness of the food. A gastro pub should give you foods you've tried but with a twist to it and that is what BR does well. As you know the poutine was amazing also I forgot to add the server and service was excellent. 5/5 hands down!!! Everything was absolutely delicious and perfect. The right amount of avocado and tomato and bread. Chicken was so delicious and still so hot even in the cold weather. Chicken was boneless which I can appreciate! The jalapeno cornbread waffle was so good and paired so well with the syrup and chicken. Service was on point. They got us waters without us even asking which is always so nice. They always checked up on us and made sure we were taken care of. Such a nice experience after being cooped in because of Covid. To start off I had a beer flight server asked me what profile I liked and he brought me the perfect flight! My wife ordered the Bloody Mary also very good! One of the many gems in downtown Redlands! We were catching a flight out of San Bernardino airport and wanted to grab a bite to eat before we hopped on the plane. My fiancé called in before hand and asked how busy it was. They told them it was steady but they are taking customers on a first come first serve bases. She gave us recommendations and I ended up getting the Hash Out man it was amazing the short ribs were flavorful and tender! The potatoes underneath were nice and crispy just how I like. I'm not a big fan so I opted for scrambled eggs on the side and I gave them to my friend who ordered the Fowl Mouth. It was essentially chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, it was moist and not over cooked! The waffle was made perfectly as well. My fiancé got the black sheep burger and he really enjoyed it as well. We also decided to order champagne since we were having brunch! They had the option to get 2 for $25!!!! That is an absolute steal it was a no brainer to add on!! We came here due to the 4 1/2 stars on Yelp. Yelp reviews did not let down. The old fashion was on point and the poke was delicious. Our Server was very polite but needed help. Looked as if it was only her for the entire restaurant most of the time. The beers tasted great and the happy hour menu is awesome. If you can wait until 9pm on Friday/Saturday I would. Their happy hour prices are one of the best I've seen when compared to their regular prices as far as percentage off.
